Most meds are metabolized through the liver (CYP450). Tamiflu apparently nearly took my life, so you might want to add that and NSAIDs/Tylenol to your "NO" list.

@@ts-maddog4639ask your doctor about Buprenorphine or oxycodone. Despite the issues with them re:addiction for some, these may be safer than other meds, for some people, yet are rarely given for arthritis. I reversed my fatty liver disease by simple changes to my diet. I didn’t “diet”. What I did I do? I did this: go from 3 meals a day to 2 meals a day, drink more water and hardly any soda or sweet tea ( a killer for me 😂), reduced carbs, and eliminated sugary desserts. Nothing drastic or super difficult. Minor but firm changes. Results - liver is great, triglycerides great, cholesterol great, blood pressure and blood sugar great, and down from 270 to 220lbs. My body fat has gone from 30 plus to around 12%. I’ve recently added a little cardio exercise. My goal is single digit body fat. I’m getting closer to looking like I did when I was a young buck! Best to all of you. You can do it!

So, when you said, "You'll never hear about the from your PCP, you're so right because I asked her if her PCP ever talked to her about her weight, her lifestyle choices, etc and she said"no". People, we all need to turn to taking care of ourselves and watching videos like this because you can best believe your doc isn't going to advise.
I really appreciate these doctors who recognize it's not all about pharmaceuticals and have basically turned their backs on traditional medicine techniques

. . . & anyone else who cares to listen:
Understand that BIg Health Care (HMOs like Kaiser Permanente) are just like Big Pharma. They're industries out to make all the money they can. That's what being in business is all about.
If they don't prescribe all those pills, tests, and procedures, etc., they'll go bankrupt & out of business.
Keeping you sick, medicated, hospitalized & coming back for more is how they stsy in business.
There is no profit for them if they explain to patients that by making changes to their diet, exercising, avoiding toxins, they can avoid or reverse their aches & pains, swelling, fatigue, shortness of breath due to chronic diseases & disorders like Diabetes, heart disease, fatty liver, autoimmune disorders, cancers, etc.
The food industry is yet another business out there to make money, as are the greedy politicians who are supposed to regulate them & protect us.
The folks who make it into gov't roles are bought & paid for by ALL of these businesses, corporations & industries by way of campaign donations and other monetary incentives. They get them into positions of authority & power and are repaid by being allowed to continue doing what they're doing - making money off of the uninformed public: you and me.
Don't put all the blame on your doctors. They work hard at their jobs, hoping for promotions & raises, just like anyone else. It's the huge employers that dictates their training and their job descriptions, i.e., prescribe this drug and that treatment for this ache, pain, condition, concern or complaint.
If you think about cigarettes, how is it even still legal to manufacture & sell this carcinogenic, poisonous, deadly product? Because of the same process I just described: The big tobacco companies have enough money to buy the votes of our policy makers who will see to it that they can stay in business.
It's not hard to see that greed & corruption are the only way this is allowed to continue.
Not so easy to see in the medical industry as is in the glaring example of tobacco, but it's all the same, and all about the almighty dollar. Don't kid yourself.
Be discerning. Inform yourself as best you can so that you can make sound decisions.
The first & best decision you can make is to take charge of your health EVERYDAY. It's YOUR choice, your diet, your lifestyle. Don't leave the outcome to someone else.

Thank you Dr. BERRY for your awesome videos. Ive been keto 4 years, pretty dang strick. At 58, feel amazing... lts very sad that we are lied to so much about our health. I intend on spreading the good word about low carb as much as l can. I was 100lbs over weight from my mid 20s until mid 50s..., and have lost 70+.lbs... Yes l still struggle with things, but my energy level has been out the roof. (At 58, l built a 12 x 16 she shed, very little help, tho my hubby was bitting at the bit!) All those years, coming home from work and laying on the couch, out of energy, depressed, eating garbage.
Anyway, thank you again. So good to know you are working for the good of the people. P.s. I'm in N.Jville, we miss you around here.

In 2015 I found out that I not only had Fatty Liver, Nash, and Stage 4 cirrhosis all at the sametime. Most of my liver was covered by cirrhosis. This was so advanced that there was very little time to turn the tide. I ended up in 2017 being in liver failure and was put on the transplant list. In 2018 I was transplanted. I am now a physical mess. If you have NASH, NAFLD, or fatty liver take it VERY seriously!

Same here . I went onto intermittent fasting but without cutting the sugars in the form of coffee / tea in the day time during fasting hours . That is not good as this leads to the sugars going straight to the liver as fatty liver accumulation . The body stores the sugars quicker when you are fasting .
So the first thing is to quit sugars in all

Not a lot, but when I do it's usually slices of salami, pepperoni, or the like. Never ever potato chips or a candy bar or any of that stuff. As someone who drank far too much soda, and fruit juices, I can tell you, if you are skeptical about what he says, don't be. The change in your physical state, mental state, and general existence is so vastly improved by cutting out especially sugar, and double especially high fructose corn syrup is unbelievable. 1. Avoid sugar in all of its forms.
    2. Give up soft drinks.
    3. Avoid fruit and fruit juices. (An occasional piece of fruit is ok.)
    4. Avoid all grains. (Wheat, corn, millet, amaranth, oats etc...)
    5. Avoid industrial seed oils. (Canola, Soybean, Sunflower, Safflower, Peanut, Cottonseed are the major offenders)
Use coconut, tallow, avocado oil, olive oil, lard and butter as they are better options.
BONUS TIP: Stop snacking. Eat 1,2, or 3 discrete meals and nothing to eat in between. 🍴🥓🥚🧀🍗🥩🍤🥥🧂🥑🍴

I am regretting that I did not see this two years ago!. I have a large midriff, swollen feet and ankles, hypertension, in fact all of the things that point to metabolic syndrome and fatty liver. Four weeks ago I came off sugars, grains and soft drinks - only using olive oil. Since then I have noticed definite improvements in mobility, and aches and pains have subsided. I feel better already. Started on green tea and use inulin and husk fibre which I drink each day and this is keeping me regular. I should have known all this years ago but remember as a child eating honey sweets and then getting a terrible migraine headache!. So always have been poor at ingesting sugar. I am not going back.

GREAT video! Thanks so much! I was told many years ago that I had an
"enlarged liver". Cautioned by that particular doc to be aware of it, but never
instructed to modify my diet beyond no alcohol. I was never much of a
drinker beyond a few months in college - have probably consumed no more
than a gallon of alcoholic beverage IN MY LIFE (this was long before my fatty
liver diagnosis) . Many years later I saw a gastroenterologist who, instead of
recognizing my ascites proclaimed that I was "just fat". The second Gastro
doc could not make a diagnosis even after a needle biopsy of the liver. The
third Gastro doc mentioned my high ammonia on my very first visit - "that is
why you have brain fogs" he said. Having not told him about the fogs I
immediately realized I was in the right place. He referred me to Emory as a
    transplant candidate.
Within a year of my first Emory visit I was there for one day of tests and one day of interviews, still not on the transplant list due to low MELS. My blood work from day one was so bad I was instructed to check into the hospital "immediately". Before nightfall I had fallen into a coma from acute liver failure. Within a few weeks I received a liver transplant. Analysis of my old liver revealed no concrete reason for the failure - "idiopathic" failure. I now live a near normal life
thanks to all my "Emory Angels". Had I seen your videos when I only had an
enlarged liver and behaved in the manner you recommend I may have avoided my liver failure and transplant!

Exercise builds muscles and endurance, not eats up fat. Thats the cals in, cals out theory. And it doesnt work.
Ive lost 55# without doing more than rare walking.
Exercise is great when its an activity you enjoy...a basketball game, tennis, kayaking, hiking, raking leaves, tearing down walls and cabinets for a kitchen and bath rehab, rollerblading, surfing, moving your friend into their 3rd story apt. Even lifting weights for say 20-30 min, 4 dys a week, upper body one day, lower body the next, might be enjoyable for you. HIIT has some physiological value and def helps with aging issues. But exercise as burning fat, nah.

chadzwife1 I lost weight by calorie deficit simple science. Exercise absolutely helped get me there. So exercise definitely will make one lose fat IF they are in a calorie deficit. Easier way to be in a deficit is thru diet, hence the keto part. I chose high intensity exercise for the cardiovascular benefits (my cardiologist concurs) & because it burns more calories that just walking. Not only have I lost fat, but gained muscle (so now I’m stronger & burn even more calories at rest), but no more fatty liver, high BP, & high cholesterol. Congrats to you on losing pounds as well.

That's funny... I lost 110 pounds in a year without caloric deficit dieting nor did I do cardio... I only utilized intense training training techniques and bodybuilding exercises. I was utilizing a traditional bodybuilding diet and was eating well in excess of my Bmr. Taining days I was eating between 4000-5000 calories. The two days I did not train I would eat 2500-3000 calories.
I have also lost 60 pounds in 3 months from only strictly dieting. No cardio or weight training. Super low carb diet which was almost a carnivore diet. Mostly red meat.
The point is you can most definitely lose weight with exercise alone... Or diet alone. But it's best to combine them.

I am glad I found your video. I just found out I have fatty liver and will be seeing a liver specialist to see where I'm at. I have cut out sodas, bread and rice, juices and snacks. I'm on the right path. Praying I can do this for the long run.

I was diagnosed with Fatty Liver Changes in December 2021. I found out that the Omega 3-6 my doctor prescribed caused it. I immediately stopped taking the tablets. I started excersisinge more, lost some weight and feeling much better. I am still taking a very smalll glass of apple juice in the mornings - that I now have to stop, as well as avoiding sweetener tablets, wheat, rice etc. Thank you doctor for all your good advice. I really appreciate it. I'm going to do my best to improve my health. (I am 77 years old and I don't think I need all the wrongs in my diet)

Was diagnosed w/ Fatty liver February 2019.
Your videos and Dr. Berg's have been life savers. Primary doctors and GI Docs seem so ignorant on how to reverse this.
I've lost 40lbs my skin has cleared from acne. I'm not exhausted anymore. I sleep all night without needing to to bathroom 3-4 times.
I exercise 4-5 days a week min. 45 minutes.....so much more has changed for the better.
You've helped turn my life around for the positive.
    Thank You......

Thank you so much for this information. My wife and I(me55 and her49) have started our proper human diet... Carnivore/Keto. I have the most to loose with 75 pounds overweight. After a month I have lost 20 pounds and feel like I'm 20 years younger. This video is what did it. My doctor warned of a fatty liver. You've opened our eyes. Thank you! Todd and Lisa Z

As well as a NAFLD, I suffer from Crohns and Coeliac disease, both of which are controlled by diet. I cannot eat, wheat, oats barely or rye.. My diet is also gluten free. Nor can I eat any kind of dairy products, including chocolate. Nor eggs or fish. I react badly to all of these foods. I bought a keto diet cook book to help my liver and much to my dismay most recipes used eggs or cheese and other dairy products. So binned the book. Where do I go from here. I am 79 now and the pain in my side, from my liver is getting worse. Any ideas anyone? 🤔🤔😩😩😩

@@jennifermirelez6346 not sure it was 6 months between tests. As far as lifestyle It was learning new ways of cooking when I wanted some of the things I missed like tortillas, bread, etc. Most of the time I keep it simple. Meat and cruciferous veggies. No starch.
