Nice to see Inlay Jim at work again
Thank you very much!
Great looking bowl, Jim! (as usual) 😊 Fingers crossed for a chance at the 115k subscriber bonus 🤞. Designer Epoxy
Happy to be here. It looks like it's going to be good.
Hope you enjoy, thanks
We learn so much by watching a professional solve problems. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
The cherry inlay bowl was absolutely beautiful can’t wait for each and every new episode!
Thank you very much!
Oh, natural inlays. That’s very nice to see. Looks great. The cherry is stunning.
Thank you very much!
There is more to your channel than woodturning. My medium is more forgiving, clay, but your attitude and patience is a lesson in perseverance and working through a problem encountered when creating a piece. I find you inspiring.
Wow! Thank you very much!
I don't dislike the little 'imperfections'. I imagine Darren's mum has an incredible display!
She should have, lol. Thanks
One year ago I found your videos a few days after Christmas while fighting a nasty fever.
This year I'm watching your videos a few days after Christmas while fighting a nasty fever. Strange how life is like that, sometimes.
Wow, tis the season, thank you!
Long live the Queen (of North American Hardwoods), another great one. Loved the Vid.
Yes! Thank you!
I love that you leave in and show how you handle the "oopsies." Another beautiful bowl.
Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy - Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you very much!
I agree that cherry is a beautiful wood. Walnut is king. Great bowl!
Thank you very much!
You are a real professional and a perfectionist. Remember that when it’s not good enough for you, it’s perfect for someone else. Everything you do is perfect and beautiful. I love this piece, everything about it. I like the way you welcome us into your workshop and explain everything you do. I find it absolutely fascinating.
Thank you so much!
Love the inlay. Love the cherry. Beautiful bowl. Your tips on what to do as well as not to do are invaluable. Can’t wait to see the next one.
Thanks so much!
Great job once again Jim. Designer Epoxy and stone techniques are endless.
Thank you very much!
What a thoughtful son. Guess I'm going to have a talk with MY son.
Designer Epoxy
Lol, thanks!
Who doesn’t love Cherry! Redid my kitchen in Cherry a number of years ago and as you said, has gotten darker and even more beautiful with age. This looks just super! ❤
I totally agree! Thanks
I think it came out great, again. The designer epoxy with the soapstone and copper combo worked very well.
Thank you very much!
Love the inlay combo there Jim. And a lovely tradition for Darren and his family.
I look forward to your videos every Friday.
Thank you very much!
I never get tired of seeing that first coat of finish go on!
Me either! Thank you very much!
My dad just passed away on the 20th and watching you helps keep my mind on your beautiful work for a little while thank you for your hard work All my love
So sorry for your loss! Thanks for watching!
I'm so sorry for your loss, Mary 🙏🫂
Hi Mary I'm prayers are going out for you sorry for your loss of your Dad. I loss my my last year On the 1st October. Amanda xxxx
My dad passed away on the first of May 2022, I’ve been watching these videos recently for the same reason. In a way he reminds me of my dad, the way he talked and worked in his shop. I’m so sorry for your loss, please know you aren’t alone. 💕
The colour blend is not a bug, it's a feature! I thought it looked good either way. It has unique character with the colour blending. Really liked the inlay overall. Appreciate your commentary and including the issues with the bowl. Thanks. Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
designer epoxy - I love the alabaster and soapstone together. I really like to see the inlays.
Thank you!
Way to go Mr Inlay. Another show piece.
Thank you very much!
YAY! INLAY!
Lol, thanks!
great save... absolutely beautiful bowl ... love the contrast between the alabaster and the soapstone...
Thank you very much!
Another beauty, perfection is in eyes of the beholder, don't beat yourself up. Thanks again Jim
Thank you very much!
great bowl, I love the fact that you're a perfectionist and don't just settle even when the customer says it looks great as it is
Thank you very much!
I really like the concept of this bowl! The alabaster and soapstone with the copper looks awesome!
Thank you very much!
I might try that with PVC pipe. It might stick out more because it's thicker.
Jim this bowl is lovely, and I agree cherry wood is my favorite too. We lost a feww cherries this year it was heart breaking to have them cut down but the gentleman who took them down promise he would make something special with them instead of just chirpper them up. Designer epoxy
I certainly hope so, thanks!
beautiful inlay, and the cherry is, indeed the queen!
Thank you very much!
Nobody's perfect and it's important and refreshing to see that even professionals can make mistakes here and there.
Keep up the good work!
Beautiful bowl,
Thanks, will do!
I'm looking forward to watching this. I nust know that this will be another work of art.🤗💚
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks
Beautiful bowl, Jim. It great how much we learn from you, thanks for including the struggles, as well as the solutions. Love all the components, the Cherry is grand!
Many thanks!
That cherry is gorgeous. Inlay really sets it off.
Thank you very much!
I love those inlays! They are beautiful! And don't forget; Designer Epoxy!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks so much!
Another beautiful piece, Jim. That's what sets you apart from many others. If the piece is not perfection in your eyes, you will make it perfection. Even if it means costing you money and time. You are proud of your pieces. Two thumbs up. All the best in the new year for you and your family. Keep on turning!!! Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
You can really tell that Jim has done hundreds (thousands?) of these inlay bowls. It is a great way to show the beauty of the cherry. I think that using Designer Epoxy instead of CA glue is a good idea, it gives you more flexibility and working time.
Great point! Yes, thousands, lol. Thank you very much!
Again, your attention to detail tells everyone the quality of your work.
Any awesome craftsman will be their hardest critic.
That's what makes them awesome!
Another great job!
Thank you very much!
Nice job. The alabaster looks like pearls.
It does! Thank you very much!
Another beautiful design. I love the way you work through the challenges and always come out on top.
Thanks again for taking the time to put out these videos. They are truly appreciated.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you very much! Same to you!
Despite all your trials and tribulations with this one it turned out beautifully! Happy New Year to you and your family!
Same to you! Thank you very much!
Cherry is a great wood to work with. Beautiful bowl
Designer Epoxy

Cool, thanks
Very lovely. I love your inlay work as much as I love your resin work. I hope Darren and his mom love the bowl are much as I do.
Thank you very much!
Love copper and cherry! Good job Jim. Designer Epoxy
Thank you very much!
I’m the winner , thanks can’t wait for my gift
Sure, lol.
Perfectionism is not a bad thing. It just shows how much you care about your beautiful work and how much you want to please your customers. Another beauty!
Thank you very much!
Love the way the soapstone contrasts with both the cherry and the alabaster.
Me too, thanks!
It’s absolutely stunning! I’m sure she will love it!
I hope so too! Thanks
While one will always happily bow to the wisdom and expertise of Mrs. Sprague, we men love naming and adapting tools (even when we borrow(?) them from the kitchen). Sifting flour? Why... it's perfect for rocks! I love how the soapstone turned dark when the finish was applied. Such beautiful work! And once again, cat hairs (they always manage to leave their mark!). HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Well said! Thank you very much!
I wish i could afford a bowl set from yourself. Your bowls are amazing, I love them. I will continue to watch and support you in whatever way i can.
Thank you so much!
I love love love cherry and boy do you always do it justice. Thanks for sharing your talents and craftsmanship!
You are so welcome. Thank you very much!
Thanks for a great 2023 of bowl turning. I’ve learned a lot from watching you. Another great bowl.
Thank you very much!
You are 100% correct Jim. First Walnut, then Cherry. Couldn’t agree with you more. And one can’t go wrong with either wood. Thanks for the video. I really enjoy when you go back to ‘simple’ , er, your inlay work. Need more of that. Thank you.
Thank you very much!
Its a terrific bowl! I dont think youve done an inlay bowl recently, Im glad you did this one! Thanks, Jim!❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
Another winner I like the cherry bowl and the inlay with Designer Epoxy, soapstone, and alabaster and copper looks great I'm sure the new owner will love it. I have learned a lot from your videos and put it into practice over the last few months i have made a lot of bowls, plates, and trivets several with inlay for Christmas gifts for the family and friends they love the inlay and I owe it to you and your channel thanks and keep up the good work.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
Can't wait to see this. Should be beautiful
Thank you very much!
Absolutely love cherry wood and the inlay. Great job Jim, thanks for sharing your work.
Very welcome!
Once again the wood in this piece is breathtakingly beautiful. The contrast of the inlay really sets off the natural beauty of the wood. Jim, you’re a real craftsman, I look forward to relaxing at the end of every week and watching your videos.
Thank you very much!
Ohh and thanks for all the great 2023 videos! May 2024 be a year filled with love, success and beautiful moments with you family! Happy new year!
Happy new year! Thank you very much!
That is beautiful! That's a good son getting his mom a bowl crafted by you!
Awesome year of content! Looking forward to seeing your 2024. 👏✨😁
Thanks so much!
The contrast of the inlay is really striking. You're right the cherry is a beautiful wood ❤❤
It really is! Thanks
Great job Jim! I know you're a perfectionist as am I. Sometimes no matter how careful we are, things just aren't perfect or how we would like them or envisioned them. I'm sure in the end the recipient of the bowl loved it! 😊
Thank you very much!
This mother has a wonderful son to commission this beautiful bowl.
Thank you very much!
Another beautiful piece from your workshop.
Love that you are a perfectionist 😊
Thank you very much!
Very creative use of different mediums and use of designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
Very pretty. Love the spacing of the copper pipe in the inlay.
Thank you!
Beautiful bowl Jim. Any slight imperfections just adds to the character of a hand made piece.
Thank you very much!
All the best for you and yours in 2024 Jim! Once again Designer epoxy mixed well with another medium, and made a distinctly unique bowl, what a lovely gift.
Thanks, you too!
Once again Jim, a gorgeous bowl. I love your style. I also like all the natural items in this piece, not to mention that grain pattern. ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
Really loving the simple, but modern vibe of the inlay. It's a really beautiful bowl! Thank you for all the content you have shared with us in 2023 and I wish you and your family every success going forward into 2024. Have a good one Jim! 👍🥳
Thank you very much! Same to you!
Cherry is such a nice wood. Beautiful bowl, hope she loved it.
Thank you very much!
Amazing talents! I feel ya! Two Labradors, one each yellow and black, no matter what color you wore, light or dark, you couldn't hide one or the other color dog hair color! HA! 🥰🥰🥰 Your maple ocean wave cave was amazing too!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful cherry bowl. I love the inlay. I think you're too hard on yourself. Sign of a true craftsman! Lol ❤
😊 thank you
Woot woot....a classic!
Thank you very much!
Cherry is absolutely gorgeous and the inlay is beautiful great job Jim
Thank you very much!
I really enjoyed seeing how you did the inlay and addressed the issues you had. It is a beautiful piece! Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy.
Beautiful bowl!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful bowl. Love the inlay. Great way to use Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Designer epoxy always looking great. Love the cherry as well!
Thank you very much!
Your work is always so beautiful. You are easily my top wood turner on UA-cam ❤
Wow, thank you!
A stunning bowl Jim. Can't wait until next week's video!!
You and me both! Lol. Thanks
Loved the combination of the materials used. Thank you for another creative idea to mix with Designer Epoxy.
You are so welcome!
I love the stark simplicity of it. Something doesn't need bold colour to be a bold piece. I'm also a sucker for copper 👍
Thank you very much!
We are definitely our own toughest critics! I'm sure it'll be loved by its new owner. Definitely using designer epoxy for the inlay is a great idea and probably a time saver without all the additional fills! Nice job once again Jim! Happy New Year!
Thank you very much! Same to you!
Very much enjoying the simplicity of that piece, Jim. Don;t get me wrong, I love all your work, but that is lovely. Look forward to next week.
Thank you very much!
LOVE THE CHERRY! Great bowl
Thank you very much!
It's beautiful. The so-called "mistakes" add character -- they don't take away from the piece. Honestly, I wouldn't know they were mistakes. Your workmanship is awesome. Wonderful job!
I just discovered your channel tonight ... so glad I did.
Welcome aboard! Thank you very much!
Thank you, thank you. Understand how frustrating this was but appreciate seeing a more traditional turning.
You are so welcome!
Looks great. I'm sure the new owner will love it. Designer Epoxy.
I think so too! Thanks
It’s a beautiful bowl, even with the soup stone in the alabaster. Thanks for showing us what could happen when you don’t pay attention.
Oh, I seen it, I just didn’t think it would be an issue. Thanks
Love the bowl and the copper pipe idea
Thank you very much!
