KEEP THE BASE! It captures the colors of the pine cones as well. I love that you kept the sides thick - when the light shines through you see not only the two dimensional shape of the cones but the depth of them as well. Absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you very much
I was also noticing how the wood base complimented the pine cone colors - darker to darker/lighter to lighter. I like the small knob, too. Some of the top spindles on other channels look weaponized. Beautiful project!!
I agree! 🎉
If you take the base off you wont be able to see the bottom curve when sitting on a table. Keep it. But make it a bit smaller in diameter.
Love the combination of resin and pine cones. I would keep the wood base. No doubt, you need to keep this one in your collection.
Thank you very much
‘Grabs the popcorn from the microwave, jumps into her flannel pjs and presses play’ 🌟🌟
Lol, thanks for watching!
Keep the base for 2 reasons. 1: It's beautiful. 2: your the artist and you like it there. Never compromise your work.
Thank you very much
I love the wood foot! Keep it! This is such a unique and beautiful piece. I love how the resin kept some separation of color and the amazing swirling! The lidded dish is a very cool design and definitely one I'd like to see again.
Thank you very much!
Just when I think a piece cannot be beat, you produce another work of art! Love this!! It looks like there are plants underwater in a pond filled with sunlight.
Totally! Thanks for watching
Keep the base! I can definitely see a color separation, and its really a beautiful bowl! and the lid is fabulous!! the lights inside washes out
the red and blue to a yellowish color
Yes, it looks cool all lit up but you can’t see the real color. Thanks for watching
Designer Epoxy. Definitely keep the base. It sets off the bowl... and the bowl sets off the base. Lovely!
Thanks for watching
Love the base! It's always a pleasure to watch your work and this was no different.
Thanks for watching!
Okay I've changed my mind. This is by far my favourite one. Absolutely stunning piece of art, I can really understand why you kept it to yourself.
Thanks 😊
Watched this video with my wife & she kept ‘ooing’ & ‘aahing’! A great lighting source shows off the beauty of using resin pours for wood turning!!!
Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful Jim, keep the base. Tell the wife “ a good reveal deserves a reveal”
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Jim keep the base and add a maple plug/finial to the top. This will balance the wood on the base and give you a.better grip on the lid. I really like the waterfall effect around the pine cones and the color turned out great. Thank you again for sharing.
Thanks for watching
Designer Epoxy. Love how the red and blue made the purple color. It looks great with the pine cones. I also likes the foot as a base because there are so many bowls that have a flat bottom, so the foot makes it stand out from the other bowls. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
It is his project people, let him do it his way.
Thanks
Designer Epoxy!!!! Keep the base!!! The extra height works!!! Love everything!!!
Thanks for watching
i love this piece. the base really brings it together for me. i wouldn't change a thing!
Thanks 😊
Definitely keep the wood base. The pinecone adds some awsome patterns/colors. Two thumbs up 👍 👍🍁
DESIGNER EPOXY
Thank you very much
This piece is so unexpectedly beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Yes, keep the base on.
And yes,it is one of your special creation.
BRAVO !!!
Thanks 😊
Jim, your turnings never cease to amaze me. Absolutely gorgeous piece! The "flower effect" is added surprise and a beautiful feature to the lidded bowl. Great work, looking forward to seeing more pine cone turnings.
Thank you very much
The base is awesome! This is absolutely one of your best! Love the idea of a lid. You’ve made my day.
Thank you very much
Was pro-wood base from the get-go ... and now the spouse agrees that the base works well ...
Great! Thanks for watching
I’m a potter, because I don’t have the patience for wood turning, especially the endless sanding. I love the foot, it really elevates the piece. Leave it on this beautiful lidded vessel.
It’s the worst part, lol. Thanks for watching
Amazing! I think this is one of the most beautiful things you've made.
Could be. Thanks 😊
I agree, keep the base! I know I said I loved the earlier one but this one... WOW! This one is simply stunning. The resin with the pearl almost gives it a first effect. Amazing job, Jim! 💜
Thank you very much
Designer epoxy! What a beautiful bowl!
Thanks for watching
Designer Epoxy.
Keep the base. I've always loved the way pinecones look when they are turned in resin.
Sure will. Thanks
Absolutely beautiful! Love the veining inside and the flowers… one of your best resin pieces! KEEP THE BASE
Thanks for watching
I love the flowers and veining also! So absolutely beautiful 😍
Thanks 😊
Keep the maple base!
Words don’t do this piece justice! Definitely my new number one favourite! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Thanks for watching
The wood foot was a keeper! One of my favorite aspects of your channel is your delight and enthusiasm when you finish your pieces. The work, itself, is always beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Jim, that piece is priceless. My reaction is WOW! Lucky wife gets this one. Way to go again Jim.
She’s not getting it, it’s all mine! Who am I kidding, she gets it all. Haha. Thanks for watching
@@SpragueWoodturning A sense of humor too. lol. Very good. Again a beautiful piece of art,
Great job! You have found two new ways to display pine cones in a new light.
Thanks!
Leaving the wood raises the piece up making the bowl more visible. I'm all for it!
Thank you very much
Keep the base. This piece is stunning and the contrast between the wood base and the resin / pine cone bowl is part of the appeal to me. Love watching your work.
DESIGNER EPOXY
Thanks for watching
I love what you do with natural materials and designer epoxy Jim.
Thanks for watching
Definitely this piece needs the foot. With the shape of this piece it needed to be lifted off the table. Great job Jim!
Thanks for watching
WOW that really came out nice. I like the foot, it sets off the dish will. The cone center stems look great on the inside, and the flower like in the bottom and the lid is awesome. The water fall look of the resin is just that WOW. 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
Thanks for watching
Designer Epoxy --- Keep the base! it'll be beautiful when polished - I agree with you. I feel it adds to the beauty. You are the master crafter, I trust your opinion on your designs. Purple is my favorite color and this is simply gorgeous! Thank you for sharing the creation of the piece. I love it!
Thanks for watching
You must come from a farming family because you are OUTSTANDING in your field. :)
Great job!
Lol, thanks! No, I’m a city boy.
Mini Christmas trees 🙂💟💟💜 I found the best way to put tape on is to leave about 1/8 or 1/4 inch folded on the end you want to start removing from. I figured this out a long time ago when my roll of tape for my tape gun wouldn't fit gun as core was crushed and I didn't notice when I bought the roll. I use this method when wrapping gifts or boxes to make it easy for kids and adults to open without having to cut or use a knife. 😊☺ Also makes removing tape from a roll easy without having to look for the end or try to find end with a knife or scissors.
Yes, I do this I’m most cases too. Thanks
I’ve been power-watching your videos for weeks. ALL your work is incredible. This one might be my favorite. The base compliments the color of the pine cones and for me, makes it look more finished. Hope to see more pine cones in your future! God bless, Jim.
Sure will! Thanks for watching!
Keep the base! The color contrast between the base and the pinecone just brings it all together.
Done! Thanks!
I like the foot, the Designer Epoxy color is a perfect. Each view inside, outside and covered provide unique perspectives of the cones. What a piece of art!
Thank you very much!
Jim, this is absolutely Beautiful! KEEP the foot! It just sets it off! Love to watch you create!
Thank you very much
the base adds to the bowl. It lifts the bowl up so you can enjoy all of the piece. As always and I so enjoy watching you work.
Yes! Thank you!
Don’t blame you one bit - keep that gorgeous covered dish ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for watching
Reminds me of looking at seaweed dancing under water and I’d keep the base ~Smile oN
Totally, when lit from within, thanks
Absolutely love it. We both agree the foot should stay! Jeff has only been turning for about a year,so watching your videos help.
Thank you very much
I know you don't like yellow, but it would be with that glitter stuff but WOW I like this one too
Thank you very much!
Things i say while 👀 watching: "huh, clever", " cool! purple!", " I like the color variation Jim", and so on and so on. Every time it's a mystery what it will be, and whammy! A real beauty. I think you should ignore your critics and just follow your intuition. It's past my bedtime 🌙 so I'll try to watch through but might catch up tomorrow. Ahh yes keep the base. No doubt. But again do you. Look , just look at the magic you made. ✨️
Thank you very much!
Designer epoxy, it’s a beautiful piece. The lid looks like little pansy flowers. The base is perfect for a lidded piece.
Thanks 😊
Designer epoxy. This makes me want to play with some pinecones
You should! Thanks for watching
Jim, that turned out awesome and the foot on the bowl just added a touch of class to the piece
Thanks
All I can say is THERE ARE NO WORDS !! I LOVE YOUR WORK ,BETTER THAN T.V. ANY DAY THANK YOU 💞
Wow! Thank you very much!
@@SpragueWoodturning just telling the truth 👍. 👵
I like the pedestal but can totally see as a turner that it could look like a waste block. Please put ALL the pinecones in the kiln, we need more of those in our lives 😂
Already cooking, lol. Thanks
I’m not usually a fan of pine cone work. But you did a beautiful job on your work.
Thanks
I just can't figure out how to tell you how much we love this with the pinecones
Thank you very much
Jim I love this piece, leave the bottom on. You do excellent work 👏
Thank you very much
I vote keep the base. It blends in nicely with the pine cones. DESIGNER EPOXY
Thanks 😊
I’m with you, dude. Keep the wood.
Thank you very much
I love the look of the base!!! The flower pattern is gorgeous!!!!! Keep the base!!!!!
Thank you very much
My favorite so far!! KEEP THE BASE! The wood base plays off the browns in the pine cones. Love it!!
Thank you very much
Just can't believe how you keep producing stunner after stunner. LEAVE THE WOOD BASE because it ads so much to the piece. I don't blame you for putting it in your collection because you have really outdone yourself on this one. Makes me wish I were a young woman again with non Rheumatoid hands and had seen one of your videos. You are so very talented and keep up he good videos. Much love from Virginia.
Thanks 😊
Keep the bottom. I like the direction you went with it. The White sitting on the pine cones makes it look like Snowflakes on flowers. Beautiful covered dish
Thank you very much
The purple rose pinecone bowl! Absolutely stunning! I would've kept it to. Great job Jim👌
Thanks for watching
Oh, and definitely keep the wooden base
I like the wood base. Keep it,It matches the woodiness of the pinecones. The piece is amazing!
Thank you very much
This one is so beautiful it's no wonder you want to keep it!
Thanks so much!
Keep the base please. This peace is so so so beautiful!!! You are right to keep it.
Thank you very much!
It's so beautiful I can't show it too my wife because it's purple. Great job and the base is perfect.
Thanks for watching
Gouges over spouses, Jim!!!! Turner brethren unite!!
Keep that base!!! 😂😂
Love the overall form of the piece, and I absolutely agree, form over function!
Great video, my friend! Been awhile since I’ve had time to watch one of yours from start to finish.
It’s not going anywhere, lol. Thanks for watching
I may be simple , yet Pine cones in resin amaze me. Great job.
It’s truly awesome! Thanks for watching
I love this bowl. The way the light shines through it.
You should do a beautiful hollow form as a lamp base with a light in the base
Someday. Thanks
I think you should keep the base! It enhances the pine cones!
Agreed, thanks!
Jim this is one of your best yet I vote for the foot. This is simply amazingly gorgeous.
Thank you very much.
I like the combination of the patterns on the outside.
Because it reminds me of water and flowers at the same time. It makes me think of growth.
And it is beautiful as it is.
Thank you very much
Fantastic piece, don't blame you for keeping it. That bit when you said it looks groovy, surely it was, pure flower power. Just beautiful, thanks for the video 😀
Thank you very much
Listen to your Misses 😊
She can’t always have it her way, lol. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!! Love the purple color with the swirls & waves. .... AND keep the base. It adds a pedestal to display the bowl and dimension to the piece.
Thanks 😊
I think the wooden foot looks great with the pine cones. Beautiful color effects.
Thanks 😊
You have taken the perfect design choice. This is a beautiful, the colorful with the cones is amazing. The is one of your fanomal peices.
Thanks 😊
I would keep it as well. Just the way it is. The light inside really gives a beautiful look at the cones.
I vote to keep the maple base. What a pleasant surprise to see the longitudinal axis of the pine cones when you lift off the lid!! Very nice, Jim!!
Designer epoxy
Thanks!
Leave the base. It blends very well with the outstandingly beautiful hollow form! WOW, Love It! ❤️
Thanks 😊
Please don't touch it!!! I love it, the base is perfect. You and your family are a JOY. from Florida
Thank you JIM..
Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy. I love the purple. It is my favorite color, and I love the look of it and the pine cones. Keep the foot on the bowl. It makes it stand out.
Thanks 😊
I love the color the veining and flower effects, and I like the waterfall effect, Keep the wood base.
Thank you very much
I think you made all the right calls about how much of the pine cone to expose. Really like the flower effect. The waterfall effect with the resin is really cool. As far as the base no base decision goes I have to use my grandpa’s rule. He was a carpenter and when the husband and wife disagreed he explained that it would be resolved with a vote. However, the wife got two votes and the husband one. I personally was unsure about the base until I saw the finish on. The brown in the base really complemented the brown in the pine cones and really looked nice. The lid was a great idea. I would be holding onto that beautiful piece also. Designer Epoxy.
I’m tired of the two vote thing for woman, hahaha. Thanks for watching
I like the effect of the wood base. Good call on the lidded box versus the hollow form. Gorgeous! The waterfall effect makes the piece. Designer Epoxy
Thank you very much
What a fantastic lidded bowl! Love the pine cone flower shapes.
Thanks for watching
I would keep the base! I absolutely love everything about this piece! Awesome work!
Thanks for watching!
Wow!! Gorgeous, the wood pedal brings out the wood pinecone! Lovely absolutely beautiful 😍
Thanks 😊
WOW what a stunning piece!!! And for my two cents worth: keep the wood base! I look forward to more pinecone projects, the 'flowers' you can create are beautiful and I love the 'spines' you see inside and the waterfall look on the outside and... Did I mention I LOVE this piece!!
Thank you very much
Jim that bowl is perfect. You are the master of the wood/pine cones, do what you think is beautiful. It's gorgeous. Love the platform under it.
Thanks for watching
I like it with the base, I can't picture it without.
It’s staying! Thanks
Good evening, Jim.
I believe you made great choices. The wood base adds to the overall project and the pinecone skeletons are wild. The designer epoxy works very well on this Bowl.
Thank you very much
The look of the pine cones is terrific …as you said a cool effect. Final lidded bowl looks great👍
Thanks
designer epoxy. absolutely keep the base
Thanks for watching
I'm so glad you kept the maple. I was thinking when you showed it that it was a shame you were turning such gorgeous wood away, so I'm thrilled. Team keep the foot! 😂 Beautiful lidded bowl. Well done!
Thank you very much
I can't believe this purest is actually saying this but......awesome resin project. Good use of Designer Epoxy
The conversion has begun lol. Thanks for watching
