Thanks for stirring up old memories! We fished at Neah Bay in our 19' Cutty Cabin Mercruiser 1/o and slept in our truck camper about 1978! We fished the Hoods Canal and many other places and had many related activities like Deer and Pheasant hunting and living and camping in the woods! Good memories are a reward of life! Thanks again! Ron PTL USA
LOL Russ, Forks is the setting for the Twilight (vampire) series. Only relevant if you were a teen girl about a decade ago😜Enjoyed it as always! Be Safe.
Each day since July, I have journeyed with you from Arizona to Sturgis through Montana, Idaho, and along Washington State Highway 20 to US 101 to the Pacific Ocean. I have really enjoyed your videos of all these places as it has given me knowledge of the beauty of our country. Thanks for all your efforts.
Russ, you’re amazing. Day after day after day you bring us outstanding videos of beautiful and unique landscapes or seascapes. Great work. Thank you! Hate to see the 2020 Virtual Vacation Tour coming to an end.
At the first ocean pull off the Island you see is destruction Island. There used to be a placard with that info. We lived in Forks for 50+ years before settling in the Tacoma area. I miss Forks and the Kalaloch Beaches. Thanks...Peace!!! Bill
I wintered over last year all along the WA and OR 101 corridor - I can’t wait to go back. I spent 3 months in Brookings OR during the lockdown, and it was really nice...all things considered
Great ride Russ! Keep your heart open as you enter into "fire" territory. Hope you get enjoy the absolutely beautiful Pacific Northwest!!! Thanx for sharing!!
Love the opening shot of the water, seagulls sound , the water lapping so peaceful . You had me hit the like button before I saw the rest. Just love water holes ocean ,streams, rivers, waterfalls and lakes. Sign me up😊
'Next time' plan on a day touring the San Juan Islands. They're another beautiful part of Washington. Maybe even see the Orcas while you're on the Ferry. Also, Hurricane Ridge.
Take the coast slowly until you are west of Bakersfield then head east thru Bakersfield all the way to Havasu. Most of the smoke blows east of the ocean so stay as west as possible (along the coast).
Yay! We made it to the ocean and in the morning sunlight!!!! Beautiful!! Did you see the man walking his polar bear? 😯🙂 I could easily spend a month in that area, too. See you tomorrow. 💞👍
This is some journey and I don't think any of us wants it to come to an end. It's been a staple of my late night entertainment here in the UK. Can't wait to see your return route! Keep going Russ!
I've thoroughly enjoyed riding along with you this summer. You have inspired me to get off the interstate these past few weeks as I've driven from Arizona to Wisconsin and travel some of the byways. I've learned again to appreciate small town America. Safe travels to you and looking forward to the Columbia River. Hope you got to see Multnomah Falls if you turned inland at the river.
Beautiful scenery. Thanks for an amazing vacation, while sitting here in my recliner. Really appreciate you sharing your journey. Look so forward to the next video. Safe travels!
🙋♀️What a beautiful morning to wake up to this view, the ocean, the seagulls, the boats. Wish we could have stayed a little longer. Really excited riding through Forks, seeing the town where "Twilight" was filmed. A really good movie you just couldn't get enough of. Kind of like our Virtual Summer Vacation 2020, don't want it to end. Thank you Russ! 👍
Have to say you have one of the very best informative channels around! Always a pleasure seeing the drive down the highway to these awesome places you visit and the info you provide. Wonderfully edited and the drone footage is fantastic. Thanks. Onward bound!
That body of land across the strait from Sekiu you saw this morning is the west coast of Vancouver Island. Forks was named after the forks of 4 different rivers that meet there. Veyr good that you caught Forks when it was clear and sunny. They get over 110 inches of rain per year, 3 times what Seattle gets. That island you see with the lighthouse is Destruction Island. Yes, Clallam Tranist does indeed serve Forks, The 15 goes from Forks out to La Push (great views!!). If you had gone through Kalaloch it the right time, you would've see The Olympic Connector Bus operated by Jefferson Transit. Yes, the very same JT that serves Port Townsend. For a long time, there was a gap between Forks and Amanda Lake because that part of 101 is in Jefferson County which neither Clallam Transit or Grays Harbor Transit serve. JT finally decided to do a run to close the gap, making it possible to go from Aberdeen to Port Angeles by city bus.
I've stayed at the "lodge" (series of individual cabins) near the end of this piece. Very nice, right on the water's edge. Thank you for yet another wonderful edition to your series.
Can't believe you zoomed right past South Beach campground, the best place along the coast. Whales, seals, porpoises, bald eagles, a resident bear and other wildlife.
Russ, If you stay along the coast, you should be able to avoid most of the smoke. The wind usually blows inland from the ocean toward the north east and should keep most of it away from you. The Oregon coast is one of the best and most scenic in the US.
101 guess that's same as PCH thanks for show few more pieces never seen love them small towns along coast still seems like the 70's sometimes un occupied by the masses, like you I travel early/alone but my dog Wyatt he goes where I go. all the way to s Cal. love that weaving on ocean then Forrest beaches along there are amazing tempting to move out there find a beach to live out my days,,,,nice driving roads..........thanx 4 reminding me!!
Hey Russ, great trip! I hope it's not over yet, but you gotta do what you think is right for you. No matter what it has been great ! Take Care and we'll be waiting for the next great video! 👍😃
Thanks for sharing this peaceful erarly morning impressions - remembers me when we traveled down South from San Francisco to LA at the coast-line last year in September - longing for it 🙏🏻 Greetings from Southern Germany to California 🙏🏻❤️
Would be nice to make it through the Oregon coast, before cutting across. Love the coastline you were on on this video. Nice place to camp when not busy, particularly this time of year!
Another great video. The capture of the ocean was perfect right down to the gulls. If you e never been to the ocean it is hard to describe the feeling- if you have you know what I mean. That feeling is reflected.
I wanna go back to visit WA, OR, WY, ID and UT. Been on Rt. 101 from WA to San Francisco, CA on late January this year on the way back home to NJ. Not much crowd then. What a beau! Thanks for sharing, and drive home safe.
You can tell Russ is enjoying this trip, which is basically last years trip in reverse. It will be interesting to see the route home. I'm predicting the Columbia River Gorge will be part of it.
Lots of folks will recognize Forks ,WA as the setting for the fictional series "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. The town participates with props like Bella's red truck and the Cullen's medical practice. Visitors can enjoy a dinner at Bella Italia, the Port Angeles restaurant where Bella and Edward dined for a night out.
You;re not going to record the big tow of Humptulips WA, at mile post 110 on US 101? I live at mile post 106. You woul have got real wet today if you would have been here. It rained 2.08in

The island is called destruction island. Interesting history. Plenty of old shipwrecks. Bird refuge etc
I wintered over last year all along the WA and OR 101 corridor - I can’t wait to go back. I spent 3 months in Brookings OR during the lockdown, and it was really nice...all things considered
Did not see another video yesterday. Hope all is well. Figured the smoke is so bad, that you wanted to get out of it as soon as possible.
Magnificent, majestic, monumental coast line. Thanks Russ, you’re a diamond.
Nice intro footage. Lotsa beautiful spots in the west and you seem to be hitting them all, Russ!
Evening. The place where you spent the night was amazingly beautiful.

FYI where you put up the drone just north of Kalaloch campground along the ocean was within Olympic National Park. Drone use is prohibited in the NP.

The best setting is Mora campground there is a small restaurant that's all twilight
In Oregon, highway 101 is also known as the Pacific coast highway.
You didn't stop and get your selfie at the Welcome to Forks sign! Nancy

Bet those gulls are waiting for the fishermen to return with the day's (or night's) catch of needing-to-be-cleaned fish.
Really enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing. Be safe!
