Thanks for posting this. We drove the Oregon coast a few years ago from Glasgow, Scotland, staying in Gold beach, yachats, manzanita and cannon beach. This is the best video I've seen about the Oregon coast. You've put us in the mood for going back again. 🏴🇺🇲
Wow! The Oregon Coast is a long way from home for you! Thanks so much for jumping in for the ride and your endorsement. I really appreciate it. If you go back I might see you out there. I need to hit the places I've missed.
This September we're visiting Joshua tree, zion, Bryce and grand Canyon NP, as well as Sedona. Maybe next year, bit will definitely be back. It was nice to visit Glasgow, Oregon. 🏴🇺🇲
You drove from Glasgow to Oregon? That's impressive. 😀 My Scottish ancestors took a boat, in 1849, ended up in Kincardine, Ontario. Their surnames were pretty famous, but I don't want to disclose them here. I can say that she was born in the castle of the Duke of Argyle because her father was the Gameskeeper, her mother was a domestic, a storm was coming in so the Duke insisted they stay and Isabella was born there. One of their 7 sons, my Great-Great Grandfather and G-G-Grandmother, from Nova Scotia, moved to Minnesota. My Clan Chief is coming across the pond this summer for a festival. Guess I have to order a kilt.
This was a great video and Oregon has a nice coastline but if you're coming from so far away I'd like to recommend a different drive along the California coastline on Highway 1. There are many videos on You Tube about the highway 1 scenic drive. Please check it out.
I'm a recently retired salesman who for the past 30+ years has traveled every inch of the Oregon coast for my job; averaging about 4 trips per year. That's over 120 times driving that route. Never tired of it and makes me appreciate the beauty of my state. Perhaps now that I have more free time I can stop and smell the roses instead of making it to my next appointment.
@@PlantBasedJan right before I escaped, Lincoln County out lawed all open spraying of any thing. Sorry, you cannot smell the sea spray. They also passed a resolution that the county belongs to the first people. Showed a long timer, he laughed. I spent five years at BIA, I said he shouldn't laugh, its the kind of thing that sneaks up on you.
I think it's important to mention that the reason Oregon has SO much beautiful coastline is because in 1913, the Oregon Beach Bill decreed that all land within sixteen vertical feet of the average low tide mark belongs to the people of Oregon, and guarantees that the public has free and uninterrupted use of the beaches along Oregon's 363 miles of coastline. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to governor Oswald West! If you ever get a chance, you should visit the state park named after him - a walking path through old growth forest that crosses a beautiful little creek and leads to a gorgeous cove with a sandy beach popular with surfers. One of my favorite places in the world.
Both my parents were born and raised in Oregon. Dad was a Navy Chaplain for 28 yrs and in the early years of his Navy career, we lived on the west coast and made so many trips up to Oregon to visit family. I love that drive down the coastline of Oregon. 🙂 So many great memories!

So glad you hopped in! I really appreciate your feedback. Putting this video together was a lot of work because I wanted to keep it fast paced which required MANY video clips. Of course, video is nothing compared to the real thing! As you know…. Thanks again. 🥰
I live in Southern Oregon. I have driven this a few times. I love going to the coast, I love all the small town. I have many videos and pictures from our drives. Thank you so much for sharing our beautiful coast line.
My most favorite place in the whole wide world is the Oregon coast even scattered my wife’s ashes in the ocean there, she also loved the coast more than any other place.
Oh wow. 🥲. The coast is the most beautiful, perfect place to remember someone by. And, nice to go back and visit. I’m sure you picked an amazing spot. Take care!
Same here.. my fiancé’s parents and his siblings are planning to spread his ashes this coming June into the ocean as well. He loved the Oregon coast where grew up. He passed in March 2024. I really miss him 😢
Hitch-hiked it back in the early 70's, driven it several times. So beautiful, wild and quaint towns. Thank you for this video, bringing back great memories.
I'll 2nd that! Went to camp based out of Lincoln City/Devils Lake for 2 mths for 4 yrs. back in early 70's. They drug us all over the coast from seaside to Dunes and Suisilaw Coastal Forest as well. Best memories of my life, back before surfing, jetskies, development, high prices. The atmosphere had a special, unique vibe and electrcity to it. I've been afraid to go back so much has changed, but I think I'm going to try to take that drive. Thanks!

Every town except Florence. And they are a good sized town. Not sure how you missed that one. Haceta head is near there though. Beautiful video. Hope you had some fresh caught Salmon and Dungeness crab. Would like to see where you ate too.
Yes, I already got scolded for missing Florence. What was I thinking?? ! Huge miss. The obvious issue is that you really can't fly down the coast in two weeks without missing some major points. Perhaps I'll do a "One Month on the Oregon Coast" video next. Haha. And, share my insanely delicious meals from the road. 😉 Cheers.
I also am scolding you for missing FLORENCE 😄 I have done the Oregon coast many times since the 60's and lived in Florence 5 years in the 90's. As your video moves down the coast I was eagerly awaiting your stop in Florence and couldn't believe you skipped it. I love Bandon too, but I think Florence is just as charming. The bridge across the Siuslaw River is a WPA work of art and the downtown waterfront is great. All in all though, a great video. Thanks
2:19 Where did youncamp during this two week period,we want to do the same trip with out back tracking to much. We are pulling a TT as well . @PlantBasedJan
I spent a month going down (then up) the Oregon coast in a van. It was incredible. I went in an off month and there was a strong El Nino weather pattern so was able to enjoy warm, summer-like weather and less people. I cherish that memory and realize how lucky I was to experience consistently brilliant weather (average 80's) and hardly any people.
Nice work. Cruising north and south in a van is an Adventure! I agree with your weather feedback - I feel like I should have mentioned a few more times that the weather was unusually incredible for the Oregon Coast.
My parents are from Oregon (mom was born in North Bend, my father in South Junction, Central Oregon - and my parents met in Reedsport) - I'm from Washington State - but I've been living in Germany for the last 35 years. My daughter just sent me the link for your channel. This video has been a true delight. The last time I was able to see a lot of the Oregon Coast was in 2007. Nostalgia - memories - and downright awe at the quality you show here. Thank you so much for having done this!
Comments like yours inspire me! Thank you! This particular video was a huge amount of work but it’s all worth it if someone else appreciates it. So cool about your parents - small world. I’m planning to do more in Oregon as well as other travels so stay tuned!
so gorgeous, loved every second of the video. all the towns out there feel like a dream place to live in. i hope someday you'll do every town along the california coast too, that'd be fun.
You totally should! #roadtrip! My idea was to fly through everything and get a pretty good glimpse and then come back and stay longer in my favorite areas. Have fun. 😉
PB Jan: The video was great and the commentary informative and to the point. Just what I have been looking for. I am planning to do a trip like this upon retirement and your video gave me an outline of what I can accomplish during a two week schedule. Thank you.
Perfect! You nailed my objective - to fly through all the towns and do a couple micro highlights. I hope you get the weather on your trip, it’s like the icing on the cake. Thanks for watching!
The most beautiful place on the west coast,we spent a summer in gold beach and the Rouge river, Jerry's 30 mile Jet boat trip is well worth the money and you get a nice bbq burger at the restaurant where they stop, thanks for taking us on the coast tour with you, cant wait for summer to see it again,ps i agree with you on bandon its an awesome beach town.
Jan, what a great video! Thank you for putting this together! My family did a 101/1 road trip three years ago. We flew into Seattle, and after going around the Olympic Peninsula, drove the 101/1 all the way down to Los Angeles. The stops we made in Oregon were some of our favorites. It was great to see towns like Seaside and Bandon again. The views of the coast never disappoint. Great video! You have a new subscriber here!
WOW! I should have followed you with my camera. 😁 you canvassed the majority of the US west coast. One of my favorites was Olympic National Park. I put together videos on the beaches, the mountains and the rain forest but they don’t have nearly the action as this is Oregon Coast vid. Thanks so much for joining me! 😍
Despite being a lifelong Oregonian, I've not been to California since I was a babe in arms, way too young to have any memory of it. It is a goal of mine to drive down 101 from my home here on the central Oregon coast, into California for a few days, visiting their coastal towns on 101. I would love to see you do a video just like this Oregon one, but from the Oregon state line, down 101, showing us the CA towns. For me, this would be a perfect preview.
You did even show Florence, The best town on the coast in my opinion. Great shopping on 101 and Bay Street and great Restaurants, parks, jetty’s . Next time give it the love it deserves.
Right you are. Florence didn't makethis video but it is well worth the stop. It has coastline/mountains vistas/large sand dunes/inland lakes .. The lakes are only one mile off the coastal highway and they give you the feeling of being in a old growth forest of trees 100's of feet high. Florence has an Indian casino to entertain your nights.
I took this trip a few months ago. I started at the southern tip of Cali and went all the way up past Seattle. Camped the whole way, what an amazing adventure
You did an excellent job covering my beloved Oregon Coast. I was blessed to spend a few years living on the Central Coast. I believe you covered each of my favorite spots. There is so much to see and experience. Thank you for a job well done !!
Your segment here was so very well done, ...that's a rarity. Of course the coastline there is sublime. Your video was so well organized, with the maps, the location tagging on the timeline, good videography, and you even enunciate so that you can still be understood even despite the wind noise. It was fun and not draggy - etc. - surprised you don't have 10x as many subscribers. My wife and I did video production for our church denomination for years. Thankyou.
Thank you for your “professional” feedback! You understand how much work goes into the quality. 😉. I would say your comment made my day, but I’ll round that up to a month! Thanks so much for coming along with me on the coast. I’m canvassing the Rockies, Northern Arizona and Utah so more to come.
@@PlantBasedJan People have NO idea how much effort it is to put together a tight & quality video. You do... So I truly appreciate those that take the time. How many travel related videos I see where, you keep wondering where are they. Why don't they show a map. Or I can't understand what they are saying, or they overplay music so you can't hear what they say. We enjoy watching Less Junk More Journey - and they do a great job. He is very good with the camera. We used to trailer around a little bit in our little 21' trailer. Editing -- Even on my channel, before I had dropped off for church media ministry, it took many long hours to do a serious video. And I use a fairly professional editor (Vegas Pro). I remember when we gave end time seminars (about what the bible clearly shows about our time), where we were filming nearly every day, and then editing it for the next day; it took a great toll on us. But anything to help those that don't know. I grew up an atheist/scientist/engineer, but it was science that brought me to the bible, and the Bible brought me past nominal Christiandom to Adventist. That's one reason why we are so health conscious. Blessings !
You just made my day! Thank you. On that point, I have really enjoyed reading other comments about their favorite places that I didn’t include in the video in the interest of time. Very inspiring!
great video. As an Oregonian, I watched this video out of curiosity and think you did an excellent job of hitting all the important points and it was just nicely made, the video that is.
Bandon is my favorite. Started staying there annually in 2007 renting a house overlooking Face Rock. So therapeutic watching the waves crash off the rocks. Great restaurants also. Love it there!
I drove down Highway 101 from starting from Olympia, WA to Highway 1 down to San Diego. It was a fantastic trip. I camped out, stayed in hotels, visited sights every day all day long for two weeks before I turned back up to the the western states eventually working my way back to WA state. It's a blast.
Prior to the Astoria Bridge the main crossing was a ferry, so glad I had the opportunity to ride the ferry. This is an wonderful video, thanks for sharing.
Riding that ferry would have been historical experience. Thank you for chiming in! I learned that the original ferry from the 1920s actually sank in Astoria waters.
Apparently you somehow managed to drive through Florence without noticing. No mention of the lifting bridge, the picturesque Old Town, the port, seafood restaurants, campground in town, etc., etc.
The Florence omission has been brought up a few times. 🥹. Unbelievable, but true. I’m going to fire my editing team. (Me). Therein lies the challenge with trying to do the whole coast in two weeks! It’s actually not that I missed it since it’s on highway 101, I just well… missed it for this video. I’m thinking I’ll do an epic video on Florence because I’d also like to do the Dunes area properly too. Thanks for the feedback!
You win ! First one to tell me what I missed. Thank you! There are so many towns and incredible spots, I was worried one would get missed. Like I mentioned, a couple weeks is far too fast to do the whole coast. Sounds like I need to schedule a trip back to Seal Rock.
Yes. There are so many smaller places along the way. Seal Rock is nice to stop by at low tide and check out the tidepools. Glad you saw the beauty of the coast. Kathleen
Lived and worked on the west coast. Loved the cinema photography, the narration sounded like it was being read from a tour book. Good for first time visitors.
Brillant!!! Just found your channel whilst researching from Vancouver Island. Looking at relocating to the USA. Great Job and looking forward to watching more content. Thx for a great show!.
Nice to meet you! Thanks for your feedback, all the way from Canada. I’ve done videos on Olympic national park where I pan across to Vancouver island. You might be in it ?! 😍
Very enjoyable. I used to travel 101 on my way to visit family in Corvallis. My fav town was Florence. The gallery’s & shops were the best. Yachts was great too. I camped nearby & in the morning went to a bakery for coffee & cinnamon rolls. YUM😋
Great job! Was raised outside of Nehalem. Near Manzanita and what a special area with so many things to do and see. Near the ocean, bay and inland. Have driven the entire coast and it's truly all encompassing you could take months to see it all. Enjoyed your video and insightful appreciation and to do it in only two weeks. Impressed.
Thank you for the feedback - especially as someone who was raised there! I agree, the trip really should take a few months so you could spend enough time at every area. 😎
Such a beautiful shot of y'all driving into Hebo. Just to the right of the 101 Junction with Hyw 22 is a red, two story building. That was the Hebo Elementary School. I attended there 1st through 3rd grade starting in 1959. We lived in Air Force housing a mile or two below the summit of Mt. Hebo. The Air Force had an early warning radar site on top of the mountain. It was a boy's paradise living on the mountain for 3 years. BTW, the building on the right hand side of 101 is the Hebo Inn. A fantastic place for many, many years with some of the best clam chowder on the coast. People have tried to restore the Inn, but so far it hasn't worked out for anyone.
What a great story and place to spend a few childhood years! The Hebo area is one of those places that probably hasn’t changed a whole heck of alot in 60++ years. The Hebo Inn is a cool building. I had the same thought about restoring it. 😁
@@PlantBasedJan I was a FB friend with a guy (Dave)who grew up in Hebo, moved to Florida and then came back to Hebo when he retired. His aim was to restore the Inn to its glory days. He had a funds page set up and many of us contributed to his dream. I even met him one time at the Inn in 2010 or so. He said that he was getting so much grief from the inspectors that he really couldn't go any further. He also said the whole area was a haven for druggies. Sadly Dave passed away. One other thing this reminds me of is stepping off the plane in Portland and the smells of the PNW come rushing in and all the memories of Oregon come flooding back. Same way when going to Cape Kiwanda and the salt air fills your nose.
New viewer here and I was very impressed with this video! You provided so many details and the visuals of the maps were helpful. I have driven the Oregon coast many times and it’s one of my favorite vacation destinations. I would love to retire somewhere here but the challenge is picking just one town! There are so many great choices! Great video 👏🏻👏🏻
You have presented a very useful video for curious people like me. Special interest for me was the rock formations on the beaches. As a physicist who has worked on crystal formation and crystals, the rock formation gave me a lot to think on the early formative period of Earth, our common home.
You have a totally different perspective with your knowledge - but we all appreciate the beauty of the formations and our amazing planet! Thanks for the comment! I have another video with a “glass mountain” and a gypsum cave you might like - it’s Cathedral Valley loop in Utah. Intense drive!
Great video Jan, memorable places. Time to return after about 14 years, I miss this coast. Stayed at a house on Tillicum Beach, between Weldport and Yachats. You missed it, but next time please check out Tillicum Beach, its a WIDE flat section of beach, beautiful for swimming in early Fall. Love the Yachats area overall. My favorite place is Heceta Head.
I'm with you - I miss it already and it's been months, not years. There's a few places I need to focus on and I'll add Tillicum Beach to it for sure. Thanks for the tip! And, for coming along for the ride! See you out there.
@@PlantBasedJan thanks Jan. Tillicum Beach technically in Yachats, but at very north edge on the coast. A little creek runs into the ocean there, and my daughter loved running and splashing there in the gentle surf when she was 18 months old. No rocks at all up there. The water was that warm, the week after Labor Day.
Brought back memories of our trip there 3 years ago. Just love the views, the sea stacks, cool ocean breeze, quaint town, light houses, rugged coastline. We stayed in Newport and another town down south and drove into Northern California. Hit most of the scenic sites, hikes and viewpoints along the way. Even got lucking seeing a kite flying contest in Brookings.
Sounds like a very successful trip - you hit all the essentials! The sea stacks are my favorite feature, especially the ones that rise straight out of the sand with nothing else around. 😎
My family and I are from western Canada and used to travel to Reedsport every summer to see my aunt and her family through the 80s and 90s..I recall it often with fond memories. Thanx for the video
Thank you! I’ve done a number of other videos on places I’m inspired by. BUT, none of them have that chronological format - the Oregon coast worked so well for that. North to South. If you check out my channel @plantbasedjan you may see another area that interests you? Happy travels!
Thank you so much for this video. We are getting ready to travel out west from Florida and will be staying in Eugene, Oregon and going on the coast to see all of the sites.
I appreciate your video. I was fortunate to drive this same journey both North and South along the entire Oregon Coast last summer with our travel trailer. It's a trip I'd like to do again. Thanks
Oh no! I was so looking forward to seeing you drive by the small town of Winchester Bay on 101 with the beautiful lighthouse and Marina and the City of North Bend because I lived there 15 years and miss it. But you didn't show it or mention those two towns. The Mile long North Bend Bridge on 101 that enters you into North Bend is pretty famous too for the viewpoint . Coos Bay is after that. The most Beautiful place on the Oregon Coast is Shore Acres. But you have to get off 101 to the coastal town of Charleston to see it. Next time you visit that area, you have to check it out and the Botanical Gardens. You will love it. Loved the video!
I did get Winchester Bay - the marina and aerial views of the spots for RVs. I agree with you - I LOVED that area but didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time at all in any one place. Try this - at 23:42 in the video I start at North Bend and then show the Umpqua Lighthouse (and river drive - wow). I think that’s the lighthouse you mention? I am planning to go back and get that area in far more detail. The Dunes, Florence, North Bend. A couple other people have mentioned how beautiful Shore Acres is, so your note seals the deal. Thank you for the feedback!
Thanks! I'll check. Yes, if you love flowers, you will love the Botanical gardens at Shore Achres as well as the Ocean crashing against the rock cliffs. . Behind the old house out of view of the main garden, there's a rose garden. The Oriental Pond with Water lilies is so lovely. I went there nearly every week for 15 years. Had a yearly pass. So much amazing history there. Blessings.
Thanks so much for this video and how well it is organized. It showcases such helpful information. Last week, we booked a 4 night stay in Bandon right on the beach. Now after seeing your video, I am so excited to be headed there!
I lived one winter up on mt.hood. my girlfriend went to Lewis and Clark College. We made several trips to the coast and down to see the redwoods in no. Cal. Great vid. ❤ thx
The Oregon coast is one of my favorite places. We first went there in 1976 when our daughters were little. Later after we retired we traveled up and down 101 from California to the Olympic Peninsula in our motorhome staying in many different R V parks for several years.
That is some truly great family history! Thank you for the comment, I think you share some of the same experiences with many people who have parked and played along the coast for years.
Neskowin is our go to place. I'm from Salem currently living in Montrose Co. 16 years in a row for 4th. Always enjoyed the minimal wind and the water felt warmer for swimming plus the stores had everything without gouging. Neskowin will always be in my heart.
Great video! Refreshed my memory of all the beautiful spots I saw on more than one trip up or down the Oregon coast. Took a look at the map I keep of every place I've stayed, and there were 13 campgrounds on or near the Oregon coast. Safe travels!
Thankfully, you zipped right past all of my favorite little enclaves on the Oregon coast, therefore not broadcasting them to the world at large on UA-cam so in my mind that makes this a perfect video, and I've driven the entire Oregon Coast from mouth of the Columbia to the California border in one daylight driveand also picked it apart day by day as a native Oregonian
I've been going to the Oregon beaches all my life, and I'm 60ish. I must say this is a great video. I want to go do this now. I was at the Coast the other day. Down by Newport. Stumbled into a wonderful Irish town. Nye Beach. I've never been there. A must visit.
Thank you for the tip! I just looked it up and see why it's on the must visit list. Great beach and ultra cute little streets. There are so many hidden gems along the Oregon Coast, it would probably take a couple months to see everything properly.

Thanks
Bandon cheese is one of my fav's, even tho Tillamook acquired the co. they seem to have stayed true to the recipe.
Excellent! California, here I come! 😎
There’s nothing like Oregon coast, from Astoria to Brookings, every inch is stunning!!!
I agree!
I’ve wanted to do this forever. Now even more. Thanks so much.
Doing the Rogue is absolutely on the list! That Wilderness is something else. Thanks so much for coming along on the trip. 😉
❤
I've traveled the Oregon coast a couple of times by motorcycle. Very scenic trip.
Open air travel. Love it!
One of the best video for guided tour with lot of information for the Oregon coast.
Wow, thanks!
Loved this trip! The scenery was awesome! Thank you for sharing!
And you didn’t have to buy gas! 😉 thanks for stopping by
To me the Oregon Coast is such a savage majestic beauty, especially during storms. It's always my ideal vacation..
I agree, the winter storms are a completely different experience.
I know.....Right? ❤
I will. I will! ❤️ Florence, Oregon
Florence Oregon is beautiful and a nice quiet small town to live in. Stores, shops and beaches...just beautiful..
Florence definitely needs its own video!
Great job and thanks for sharing this. What a beautiful part of the world! 🫡🇬🇧
Oh thank you! Yes, I agree, it’s a stunning slice of our planet. 🥰🌎
I took this trip a few months ago. I started at the southern tip of Cali and went all the way up past Seattle. Camped the whole way, what an amazing adventure
Wow! That’s a trip of a lifetime. Nice work.
You did an excellent job covering my beloved Oregon Coast. I was blessed to spend a few years living on the Central Coast. I believe you covered each of my favorite spots. There is so much to see and experience. Thank you for a job well done !!
Thank you! Glad to hear from another Oregon coast native. You’d know all the best spots!
Your segment here was so very well done, ...that's a rarity. Of course the coastline there is sublime.
Your video was so well organized, with the maps, the location tagging on the timeline, good videography, and you even enunciate so that you can still
be understood even despite the wind noise.
I remember when we gave end time seminars (about what the bible clearly shows about our time), where we were filming nearly every day,
and then editing it for the next day; it took a great toll on us. But anything to help those that don't know.
I grew up an atheist/scientist/engineer, but it was science that brought me to the bible, and the Bible brought me past nominal Christiandom
to Adventist. That's one reason why we are so health conscious.
Blessings !
Did this trip about 2 years ago. Visited every town, every lighthouse, and every quilt shop in less than 2 weeks. Had a great trip
Every quilt shop too?! I love it! You’re in the advanced class. 🥰
As a frequent driver of this entire stretch, I gotta say you did an amazing job. Thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this fantastic video! I have been visiting the Coast for the last sixty years and you have shown me that I have missed a lot.
Why thank you! I appreciate the feedback from an Oregonian. 😎
Bandon is my favorite. Started staying there annually in 2007 renting a house overlooking Face Rock. So therapeutic watching the waves crash off the rocks. Great restaurants also. Love it there!
Face it - you picked the smartest annual trip ever. 🌊 Nice work!
Wow - that's a bucket list road trip! The West Coast done right.
Driving from Lincoln City to Florence this weekend. This was great! Thank you!
Have fun!
Your town is lovely.
You didn't show Seal Rock where I live.😊 Nice state park and some shops and a restaurant. It's between Newport and Waldport. Kathleen
Thanks, I wanted to keep it light and quick for folks looking for a general overview! 😊
I'd heard all about the Oregon coast. Now I've seen it in fantastic detail. Thank you.
Thank you! Glad you came along for the ride.
Great video and I totally agree! Bandon is the most beautiful in the land of beauty.
Thank you! And, another check for Bandon. 🏆. Thanks for coming along!
Very enjoyable. I used to travel 101 on my way to visit family in Corvallis. My fav town was Florence. The gallery’s & shops were the best. Yachts was great too. I camped nearby & in the morning went to a bakery for coffee & cinnamon rolls. YUM😋
Coffee and cinnamon rolls on a beautiful coastal morning? I’d say you’ve pretty much figured out the meaning of life. Cheers!
My husband and I did this in 2019 right before COVID. It’s one of my favs EVER
That’s great- tons of fresh ocean air and memories to last through a challenging time.
I agree! So many smart choices. The good news is that you’ll have to make many more trips to all the areas to make the best decision. 😉🧳
Florence is nice. It has everything you need there. And only an hour from Eugene. We're contemplating moving there.
Cannon beach and Manzanita is beautiful but expensive.
@@JJacks920 Good! I'll have more friends in Florence.
Love The Oregon coast drive. Very well put together. We will have to try it.
Thank you
❤❤❤❤
Have fun!
really well done...concise, but didn't leave anything out....great video....thanks
Alright! Thanks so much for stopping by.
Your videos are cool! European here, coming this summer to visit the NorthWest and drive on the 101. I'm excited now!
Thank you! You’ll have a blast. 🥳
Fun trip! Thank you for sharing ❤
You bet! 😍 Until next time…
Great video Jan, memorable places.
@@Arturo-sm1tb Warm water on the Oregon coast is rare buy wonderful!
Our family is lucky enough to live in Newport on the central coast of Oregon. Real estate prices have become ridiculous in the past five years .
Agree, ridiculous real estate prices seem to be a very common theme all over.
@@PlantBasedJanIt's the sea stacks that makes the Oregon coast unique & primitive looking.
@@gregoryhagen8801I agree!
My family and I are from western Canada and used to travel to Reedsport every summer to see my aunt and her family through the 80s and 90s..I recall it often with fond memories. Thanx for the video
Reedsport and the surrounding areas are so cool. I loved the drive up the river too. Thanks for coming along! 😍
Watching natures 🚄 travel more Scenic to see in a comfortable ways .
I agree!
Thanks so much. My daughter and her husband and our grandkids all live in Brookings. It was so great to watch this video!
Brookings is a cool town! Lucky for you - a great place to visit.
Thanks nice weather, well done and not too chatty!
The weather was unbelievable. One thing I should have mentioned more is that we got pretty lucky with the sun.
@@PlantBasedJan Great video. What month of the year did you make this trip?
@@charlesoris. It was August! Perfect month.
I’ve taken this drive! Wow! Minnesota’s North Shore is also gorgeous!
Thanks for the tip!
This was a great travel video. I loved that you went town by town in a continuous journey. Fantastic. I hope you do some others!
Thank you! I’ve done a number of other videos on places I’m inspired by. BUT, none of them have that chronological format - the Oregon coast worked so well for that. North to South. If you check out my channel @plantbasedjan you may see another area that interests you? Happy travels!
Well put together video. We are obsessed with Manzanita. Such a cute town
Manzanita is a crowd favorite! Without the crowds….
Nicely done! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I am going next week! Thank you for uploading this so I know where to stop at!
Have a blast! Happy that the video gave you some ideas.
That was an excellent tour, thank you! I am definitely inspired to do it as well!!
Good to hear! I hope you do. 😍
Really enjoyed your video!! Thank you
Thanks for coming along! 🥰
Thank you so much for this video. We are getting ready to travel out west from Florida and will be staying in Eugene, Oregon and going on the coast to see all of the sites.
Fantastic! A different landscape from Florida for sure. Have fun!
Thank you for. a lovely trip down the Organ Coast… it was very enjoyable you did a great job…. ❤❤❤
Thank you! I appreciate it. 😉
Well done. Excellent video!
Thank you! 👍
I appreciate your video. I was fortunate to drive this same journey both North and South along the entire Oregon Coast last summer with our travel trailer. It's a trip I'd like to do again. Thanks
It’s magical and always changing! I enjoyed all the times of the day.
Amazing trip. Thanks for the show
Anytime! Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for making such a beautiful and informative video! So very helpful for our future trip!
Thank you for watching! Have an amazing roadtrip.
I love Florence. We stay at the Thousand Trails there south jetty perfect for dunes and beach access
Nice spot!
Blessings.
Fantastic video, thank you for sharing this. We love the Oregon Coast, just got back from spending a week there.
Lucky you! Hope your weather was good. ☀️
@@PlantBasedJan yes, it was good, the last day was foggy along the water but cleared up as we made our way inland heading home
Really great photography of your video.
Thank you! There’s so much incredible scenery to capture.
Thanks so much for this video and how well it is organized. It showcases such helpful information. Last week, we booked a 4 night stay in Bandon right on the beach. Now after seeing your video, I am so excited to be headed there!
That is a perfect stay! Hope your weather window is nice and sunny. 😎
Thank you!❤ I am so glad you did this! Helped me in planning my travels from Astoria
Glad it was helpful!
Well done! This is certainly inspiring. Thanks!
That’s always the goal! 🥰
Thank you for sharing this! I just retired from 21 years of teaching, and I'm planning this exact road trip ❤
Congrats! Have a fun road trip.
Darn it! Thought you were going to stop in Florence-that’s why I watched. Good trip, though.
My mistake! 🙈. I’m planning to do a Florence exclusive. Stay tuned.
Yah quinna Bay (Yaquina). Came for a visit in 1992. Never left. Live with my family just south of Depoe Bay. Truly heaven on earth.
Spectacular area! I can see why you never left.
I lived one winter up on mt.hood. my girlfriend went to Lewis and Clark College. We made several trips to the coast and down to see the redwoods in no. Cal. Great vid. ❤ thx
Sounds great!
Manzanita's beaches are definitely my family's favorite. Good video
Manzanita is gorgeous.
Just found your channel. Vegan 40 years. We generally ride the Oregon coast every summer. Travel On. !!!
Great minds unite! My goal is to crank out more super good recipe ideas on the road. ✌️
Nice pick! I agree, the water at Neskowin does feel warmer.
Great video! Refreshed my memory of all the beautiful spots I saw on more than one trip up or down the Oregon coast. Took a look at the map I keep of every place I've stayed, and there were 13 campgrounds on or near the Oregon coast. Safe travels!
Outdoors on the Oregon Coast is spectacular. 🌊 Thanks for the feedback!
Now that I live in New Mexico I miss the many years I lived on the coast from Coos Bay Yachats New Port Astoria loved the video 😊
I’d say that’s quite a different landscape! Thanks so much for the comment. 👍
I worked in Bandon in the 70’s I saw the rocks. It was beautiful. Loved your trip!!
So cool! The rocks are exactly the same. 😁 Thanks for watching!
Love the video! The Bandon Dunes golf course is on my bucket list.
Thank you! Good call - those golf courses are world class! Thinking they really need to be seen with great drone footage.
We just spent the weekend Hecata lighthouse, it was great weekend. Not cheap.
Nice! I think you had great weather?? Probably a little too cold to swim. ❄️
On our way next week. Our favorite place ever.
Next week?! I'm jealous. 😎 Thank you for your comments. Cheers to a great coast trip!
Just beautiful - especially the South Coast (Brookings in particular)
I agree, I love the southern part - that whole Samuel Boardman area is spectacular.
I zipped past everything very fast! Next time I’ll meander more.
Saw parts of the Oregan coast 63 years ago. Always wanted to go hack. Thank you for the tour.
Oh wow! It would have been a little different 63 years ago. But, some things would be exactly the same. 😊
