Thanks Russ for taking us along! Love your videos!
Russ, I live in Eastern Washington. I've been to the Washington pass overlook 6 years ago. If you would have kept going up that rock path the view is the best of the entire overlook
The beauty of that Overlook is just mind blowing! WOW!
Thanks for bringing us along Russ! Stay safe Man!
What beauty Russ. Once again, you have not disappointed. The beauty of the mountains and the valley are things to behold. Loved the snow still present in the shade near the mountain tops. Be safe as those are some serious drop offs.
It's good to see private investment creating an overlook. The scenic byways (my favorite) are also good to see. Thank you.
10:00 Weird but the older I get, the less I can even look over the edge of life. Too scary.
(I like your content. Mellow, paced, nice visuals.)
A small hint. On the signs it would be great if you framed, focused, and froze the camera for a second so we out in UA-cam land can pause and read them.
Thanks.
"the less I can even look over the edge of life."
TRUE.
This is an epic drive. Thanks for taking me along.
Hwy 20 closes when the snow begins to fly..I used to live in Marblemount, the reason they close it is because of avalanches and steep terrain is pretty much unmanageable..it truly is the American Alps ..I love seeing this trip of yours as I have done this road on many occasions..❤ awesome😁
Hay Russ, I have forgotten how beautiful the North Cascade is. I did that road in early 80's and loved it. Can't wait to do it again.
1 word: Majestic
Just wow.
Added Highway 20 to our bucket list!
I love seeing my home state and all the places I have been. Wait till he gets to Diablo Dam and Ross Lake. So gorgeous. If you ever get a chance take the Stevens Pass it’s spectacular maybe even more so than Washington Pass. Hard to choose. This Pass is closed in the winter. I think I’m November. It’s a huge deal when it opens back up. Stevens Pass is usually open year round unless avalanches closes it. They do clear it. There is a ski resort on top Stevens Pass. It’s near Skykomish. Also a little bit of the Pacific Crest Trail follows the interstate.
We watch you every day. Wouldn’t be able to stay sane in a pandemic without you. Just thought I should say thanks for real instead of waving and saying “thanks Russ” to the tv. So..👍🏻Thanks Russ!
Great video!!!!! There is probably 8' of snow there today!!!!
Great views of the mountains!
So beautiful, thanks Russ, great video as always.
Good for you making the journey. I've lived in Washington state my whole life and haven't taken Hwy 20 across the pass yet. Thanks for the preview.
To live in WA state all your life and not go across the Cascades is hard to believe. My husband was from Twisp, Wa, and we have taken that trip about three or four times. It is breathtakingly beautiful.
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing
Evening Russ! Thanks for the ride 👍
Please focus the camera. Absolutely beautiful country if it was in focus.
Oh I’m bummed, I didn’t, get a little heart next to my comment! No, Russ I appreciate you letting us all have a say! I’m sure all of your followers, myself included, would enjoy your videos a lot more in focus! That’s all, no negativity! Hey who else uses their name! James Griffin.
We are all envious, of you, getting to travel, especially out of the smoke, we are all breathing in western Nevada. Those of us seniors, who have been sequestered for months enjoy your videos! Thank you!
Unbelievable beauty in this country. Thanks so much for sharing it with us Russ!
🙋♀️Hello Russ! I liked that walkway & those slender pine trees. I saw the snow capped mountain between those pines at the end of our walkway. We are looking at a valley that had been created by an Iceburg. Where did all that water go? How many years ago? Sometimes when I see these clouds spread out like that in between these mountains, it's almost as if someone stretched out cotton balls here & there. Look forward to seeing Ross Lake. 👍
That overlook area was absolutely beautiful!!
I actually got queasy when you showed the overlooks. I'm so terrified of heights that when I watched the animated movie Up where the guy tied balloons to his house and it floated into the sky I could hardly watch it. When I rode my bicycle across Glacier Park I was happy we were going east to west so that going down the Highway to the Sun I could hug the rock side and not the precipice side.
Thanks Russ, I truly appreciate your videos, beautifully shot. I hope to see this in person, one day. America is so beautiful 🤩
The mountains are mesmerizing! Beautiful views!!
My hubby and I have been traveling with you this entire adventure. Love, love Utah and you’ve inspired us to visit there but... this particular video is, by far, outstanding!
My goodness its been over 15 years since i was up there, hardly anyone on the road that is a surprise. So gorgeous!
Really enjoying the new series , we were wondering if you could give some advice about traveling safely now during covid . We need to buy fuel , food , even use public restrooms , what have you done ? Thanks for taking us along great videos.
Love your videos! They're so clear & sharp; it's almost as if we're there with you! Thanks for sharing, and please keep inspiring me to go check these beautiful spots out for myself!
The scenery just keeps getting better Russ! Wow it's beautiful country out there! Thanks for capturing all this and letting us tag along! Take Care. Can't wait for the next great video!👍😃
WOW !
Now that's some awesome content.
OMG ...😬...THAT GAVE ME ANXIETY....LOL.haha...I'm not even kidding....I'm way to afraid of heights....🥶
Great video Rusty! May I ask the actual date you drove through? I assume it was within the past week? Doesn’t look smokey?? Anyone else driven this pass in the past few days?
Hey Russ!!! "SOMETIMES" Pictures say more than "WORDS"!!! Be Safe!!!
I ride this road every year on my motorcycle. Except this year due to the border being closed.
Glad you don't use one of those talking navigational systems, Russ. One malfunctioning "Right turn now" and RVerTV would be off the air--permanently. Though it would make for a dramatic final episode. Just kidding!
That overlook was very impressive, thanks for taking the time to stop. Two words for when you venture into the woods "out on the trail", no matter how well-paved it may be: Bear Bangers.
And never mind the free carwash, Russ. Better not see you over there lathering up, if you know what I mean (Just kidding, again.) Continued safe travels.
Seen any squatches /bigfoot ? Ha ha
Kind of feels like you had the place all to yourself, doesn't it?
When the camera is outside it's kinda blurry.

YaY !!
Yay 2 !

i drove the north cascades pass the first time in 1974 and fell in love. it took until 2004 for me to find my place on the skagit river about a mile west of marblemount. i lived there until 2017, when i traded my home for vanlife. i now spend my summers near the pass and the park and retreat south until the pass opens in may. liberty bell mountain is to the right when you first get to the scenic overlook. the road below that runs below liberty bell down to the 4 lane switchback get between 50' to 100' plus of snow. the pass is usually snowed shut in late november. they try to keep it open to allow the hunters to get out. there are more avalanche zones per mile in the pass than anywhere else in the U.S. including colorado. my heart lingers here, thanks for the great video, it was truly beautiful, you should post that it is best viewed fullscreen or on huge tv if available. it's stunning here in my cargo trailer's 32" :)
I’ve been waiting all day for this video. It looks like you’re going to be following my bike route all the way to Anacortes, which is where we ended. We deviated off of the main roads occasionally. Yes we have bears, cougars, bobcats, deer and elk, even in the small coastal town where I live. And Sasquatches. I’ve seen all those animals except a Sasquatch, although I may have heard one howl.
@reverse thrust yes I am familiar with his channel. Thank you.
My son lives in twisp
Washington Pass and several other passes are closed in the winter due to the amount of snow.
Russ, I love how you stop at all the side of the road places, like the overlook. I would probably keep driving and look at what I would have missed. You’re giving me a whole new appreciation of how to do a road trip. I can see that your philosophy is truly that it is all about the journey and not just the destination. Thanks.
What a treat. Unbelievable scenery. Thanks for posting.
Wow! I'm speechless, that is so beautiful!! Stay safe....
The next time you find yourself here, take Hwy 20 to Hwy 9 at Sedro Woolley and head north up to Hwy 542 and then, head east to Mt. Baker. When you get to the visitor's center, continue up to Artist Point.
I promise that you will not be disappointed by the view and neither will your drone.
I agree, Scott, Artist Point is beautiful this time of year when the snow finally melts so you can get to it. Went there many times in late summer in the 90s.
Thank you, Scott! Between your comment and Russ's video, I've decided where I'm vacationing next summer.
@@schroedingersdog7965 The big challenge is to be there when it's not cloudy or overcast. Late July, August, and early September are good times to go, when it's most likely to be sunny and clear. I recommend going there in the mid-to-late morning and on a weekday so you won't have to deal with so many people.
@@scottbridge9391 Thanks again, Scott; sounds like some excellent advice. I'd much rather see mountains and forests than clouds and crowds!
Washington Pass, your in Bigfoot territory... 😄
What a beautiful view though!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I have been watching you for a couple of years and enjoy your videos so much. The trip over hwy 20 has been a memory for me. I now live in Montana but used to live in Twisp WA and have driven that route west many times. I will be making the trip again in another 2 weeks.
Thanks for all the work you do in producing your videos for us.
Anacortes Yeah!! Old stomping ground in the 90's. god I miss this area!! you Rock Russ !! got ya some coffee, I'm so Happy. Yeah lol
The North Cascades National Park - aka "American Alps". The highway closes to all vehicle traffic for the winter after the first snow (normally around early Nov) until the week before Memorial Holiday. It closes between Newhalem and Mazama (roughly speaking). When you stopped to look at the views at time2:56, the rock outcrop directly in front of you with the vertical white stains is the Washington Pass Overlook (for reference from the other side). This highway only sees "traffic" a few days per year. The rest of the time that the highway is open the traffic is as light as you depicted on this wonderful video.
Thank you for the great work on your videos.
If you ever watched Northern Exposure , it was filmed in Rosalyine (sp) , wash, westside of state
That entire stretch of H 20 is closed in winter because of snow and avalanche potential. As far as I know we only have black bears up there at the pass, not grizzles, so not a problem. They eat berries not people. This one of my favorite trips in the state. Too bad you didn't stop in Winthrop and spend a little time there. Fun little town to wander around. Also spend some time at Seattle City light pwr facilities further down the road. Very interesting history.
G'day Russ. The US of A is such a vast and very scenic country. I just realised that you're not in the Rockies. The Cascades and The Sierra Nevadas are way west of the Rockies. As an Australian who's been all over the South West of the US, I"m still learning so much. Road School
If Russ crosses into Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula I think you'll love that also. Northwest coast is something to see.
"The US of A is such a vast and very scenic country." It's equally true for Australia. Both countries stolen from natives by European colonizers.
Home sweet home! As many times as I've made the trip, it never gets old!
thanks for sharing, so, so beautiful.
Russ did you hear me yelling for you to hold on? You looked over that fence and that road looked 3 miles down. I almost fell off my desk chair. Best video so far.
Very Beautiful I wanna go next summer.
See Fort Casey and the big guns stay with #20
No runaway truck ramps! Oh my!
Russ, I just found you. I love your videos. I feel like I am going places I have never been to, or will never go to, thank you so much.
Welcome aboard Mary. Thank you
Russ, you do a fantastic job of “dash-cam” touring. These heavily forested mountains in Washington are truly beautiful. John 3:16
Thanks,
Jeff
Russ, have you made an appointment with your eye doctor yet? Your eyes have got to be popping out of your head by now! You have definitely outdone yourself this year!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!
I’ve never heard you say “this place is medium rare”.
Grew up and live here in Washington
Can't wait for the next video with Ross lake, you will not believe the color of it!
Stay safe, smokey down here in Olympia
I love Grand canyon of the Yellowstone and Yosemite valley is gorgeous but Washington pass overlook ranks right up there with them. Thanks. Hope to see it in person one day. 👍😁🙏
Enjoying your channel! Keep up the great work. If you have a moment you could take a look at my account 😃👍
Hello again from Vieques, Puerto Rico, Russ! 🏝🏝🏝 Wow, I've been enjoying all your videos, specially since the pandemic began in March, but this one left me breathless. Those magestic views, the mountains, wow, spectacular 😍😍😍(Yes, that wow!!! 😂😂😂)!!! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. My daughter and her hubby live in Philly, and as soon as all this situation improves my plans are to visit them and make a roadtrip together to visit the west coast, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, maybe California, as far as possible (depending on resource$$$, of course! 😁). Wish me luck.🤞🤞🤞Take care. Talk soon!😎😎😎
Beautiful drive in Cascade ants! Li love Washington State! So green! Thank you Russ!
Russ, you gotta take the ferry ride to Orcas Iland and drive to the top of MT. Constitution inside Moran State Park....one of the best marine views in all the states.....just grab a round trip ticket....I think you can do that all online on the Washington State Ferries web page....BEAUTIFUL!!!
That pass is closed almost 6 months every year!!!!
Wow, spectacular views of God’s handiwork for us all to enjoy! What trip this must have been Russ. Genesis 1:31
Beautiful views Thank you. Do you sell a Calendar with your "Picture post card" photos ? ✌❤🤗
Love you’re movies. The pandemic has really kept us in but through your videos we have been able to go with ya. Not complaining but are you aware your front camera is going in and out of focus. Could be heat but don’t know.
Wow, amazing for sure, thanks Russ.😊
I'm going backwards on your videos, so I watched the one with Ross Dam before this one. I been across Ross Dam. I lived up there for a year and half and viewed all those sites. Such beauty the state has, just lovely, I'm proud to live here.
Crossing the state of Washington along the northern edge is far more scenic than crossing on the interstate. I'm guessing your going to travel down Whidbey Island and then over to Olympic National Park. Probably avoid Seattle.
Just beautiful! Something I always notice in the very northwest corner is the forests are denser than anywhere else. The branches of the pine trees are intertwined! Our campsite in Olympic Nat'l Park was 3 feet from the road, but we couldn't see it or hear traffic because the trees in that 3 ft were so tightly packed together! It seems like as you go west, the mountains and forests get prettier and prettier! 'Epic views' hits the nail right on the head!
Amazing scenery! You've captured it all so well. Thanks for sharing! Safe travels!
Hay Russ, I have forgotten how beautiful the North Cascade is. I did that road in the early 80's and love it. Can't wait to do it again.
The Overlook was an unexpected surprise. Very nice.
What beauty Russ. Once again, you have not disappointed. The beauty of the mountains and the valley are things to behold. Loved the snow still present in the shade near the mountain tops. Be safe as those are some serious drop offs.
Russ, exactly what month were you up there. The amount of traffic is perfect for me.
I have been wondering if you had ever been to my beautiful state and I found this in your playlist :)
Washington is a beautiful state. It has almost every scenery imaginable.
Thank you for making this. I have yet to go up to this area as i live in the spokane area. So so so beautiful
Wonderful scenery. Love to see what you see and am glad you bring along the video camera so we can see it as well.
Thanks again Russ for a beautiful vacation thru the Cascades! Luv the way you comment on the oncoming traffic, makes me smile!!!
Wow! What gorgeous scenery. Artist's paradise for sure. Thank you, Russ. 😊
Hi Russ. Isn't great when you don't know what is round the next bend in the road. Great ride.Stay safe.
Russ, your statement tthat you were not regret it is a major understatement. One of the most scenic places on earth.
Absolutely breathtakingly astonishingly beauty. I cannot even imagine how it feels to be there in person
Great videos that you post, keep them going.
Great video, thanks for sharing! 😊
my Harley sounds kick ass through that pass
