  • For meal prep this week, I'm making BIG MAC SALADS and BREAKFAST BURRITOS! Who would have thought you could lose weight eating something made with Big Mac sauce!!?? My grandmother taught me to make Big Mac sauce as a child, so I made a few modifications to her recipe to lower the points/calories, and it has quickly become one of our favorites!! I hope it's one of yours too!
    You don't need to be on any type of weight loss journey to follow my channel. You can still get tips and ideas for meal planning and meal prepping. Recipes and links to items used below.
    I follow the Weight Watchers WW blue plan, but I also give points for the WW purple plan and the WW green plan.

    // TURKEY TENDERLOIN with POTATOES, CARROTS AND GRAVY 💙4 | 💜1 | 💚5
    I don't have a recipe for this one since I just brush the turkey tenderloin with stone ground dijon mustard and bake everything, but I do have a similar pork recipe that you could use and just replace it with the turkey tenderloin. The points listed here are just using a basic mustard topping though, not combining oil in it.

      You need to! I mixed the ground turkey with hamburg and I honestly don't notice a difference, but you may want to just up the points and use the hamburg since you're not a fan of the ground turkey. But OMG they are sooo good!!

      Thanks so much, Laura! I've honestly tried so many different "diet plans" through the years. But I've learned that for me to sustain a long-term eating plan, I need to just eat the normal foods that I've always eaten. That's what works the best for me and that's what makes me not get bored and "quit". With this way of eating, there's really nothing to quit! :) Yes, I am a busy woman, but I'm loving it!! Each comment and email like this makes it so worth it!! So glad you're getting value from my videos, my friend!

      Hi Geri!! So glad you found me!! I share a similar story. I lost 93 pounds my first go-round, but then I thought, hey, I can do this on my own, and that was it. Not only did I gain the 93 back over the next ten years, but I gained about 20 more too!! I'm back at it though and down 53, and I will NOT stop this time. I learned my lesson there! We can do this!!! Losing 110 pounds is AMAZING!! No matter what we've gained back in pounds, we've gained an understanding, so it's just moving forward from here!! :)

    I’ve been struggling for a few years now. I’m also on WW and I lost 115 pounds at first with no problem. Now- I’ve been stuck. Anyway, your meal prep videos have been really refreshing to me and I’m really happy you popped up on my feed. Thanks for making these videos. I’ve been on the green plan but I feel like I’m always hungry because I’m now pointed on chicken and lean protein ect.

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  4 роки тому +1

      Hi there!! Thank you so much! I'm glad I popped up on your feed too!! :) I agree that if you're feeling hungry you should definitely change things up. I wonder if since you're on green and you have to point everything, maybe you're not eating as much healthy, satiating foods(?) I know for me personally, I made poorer choices back on the old WW plan. Now I eat so many lean meats, healthy fats, and veggies on blue that I'm really not hungry very much. I'm certainly not saying that's what it is for you -- just sharing my own experience. I know some people who green works perfect for them. How long have you been on green? And WOW!! CONGRATS on 115 pounds!! :)

    I like that idea of making breakfast burritos, especially for my kids. I have never bought canadian bacon before. Is it expensive compared to a package of bacon or sausage? I didn't know that provolone cheese you bought was only 1 point. That's really good! I thought Velveeta was the lowest point sliced cheese there was. I love Big Mac salads too!

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  4 роки тому +1

      No, if you get the ultra thin provolone, it's only 1. But I think it might be 3 points for 2 though. And I think the Canadian bacon is pretty comparable in price to a package of bacon. It's just that you can eat so much more of it..lol Yes, your kids would love the burritos!! They reheat nice too!

      I didn't like the sounds of it at first, but my husband has always eaten it that way. Hi Meredith! Thanks so much! You could definitely use Thousand Island dressing instead. The reason I do this sauce is it has meaning to me. My grandmother taught me how to make this sauce. When I was little, we used to make our own "Big Macs" when I would go to my grandmother's house. So, this has just always been something I've made, even before my WW years. I'm only familiar with points plus and smart points for weight watchers. So, what does the blue, purple and green mean?

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  4 роки тому +1

      At the end of 2019, WW changed their points system and they now have a blue plan, a purple plan, and a green plan. The plans are basically the same except for the 0-point food lists and the amount of points you get. They have people fill out an assessment and suggest a food color to follow. So, someone that eats out a lot would most likely benefit from a different plan than someone who eats at home and things like that. I am on the blue plan but I still try to provide the points for anyone.

    What are the differences in plans ? I’m thinking of joining ww

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  4 роки тому +1

      Hi there! If you would like to try the program and get a free month, I have a link in the description box you can use! :) This is just my take on the programs. I'm not affiliated with WW (except for being a digital, online member). But I'm not a leader, ambassador or anything like that. This is just my personal review of the programs. Basically, there is a blue plan, a purple plan, and a green plan. Essentially they are all the same "plan". it's just we all count our points different based on our individual needs and how we eat. You answer questions on an assessment and WW will give you a suggested color to start with, based on your suggestions. For example, if you eat out a lot, the purple plan--which really promotes the "healthier" food choices--probably won't fit into your points. For the green plan, that one offers you the flexibility to eat a lot of different foods but you won't get as many of the 0-point foods -- you'll need to count eggs, lean meats, etc. For blue (the one I do), that one is kind of in between the purple and green. You don't have to stick strictly to one of the colors once you join. You can change it if it's not working for your lifestyle. But WW does recommend you stay on it for at least two weeks to give time for your body to get used to it. Here is a link from WW that will explain it a little more. www.weightwatchers.com/us/how-it-works Hope that all was helpful! :)

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  4 роки тому

      Freestyle is the old plan, but when they rolled out the new color plan, Freestyle became blue, which is the one I follow. So anytime you see something that says Freestyle points (like in my earlier videos) you can equate those points to the blue plan.
