Hey Biffa you should really pause the game when you first start off. That way you aren't paying to maintain roads before you even have any tax revenue!!
Biffa: "People are going around the gates! They aren't paying!" Me: I'm sure thats just a graphical glitch... probably keep it so it looks good... *Income from path is now $940* Well alrighty then!
Hmm, i think it is just the width of the footpath on the larger road, it was wide enough to have extra clearance between the fence and available width. One again move it mod to the rescue, i wounder if it has that problem in vanilla console Regards George
Thanks for starting a new city. Farming first and then ore. You are an excellent narrator. You could narrate paint drying and I'd listen. " the paint is drying quicker over here. Oh look I missed a spot in the corner. I'll get that after a sip of tea." Thanks for the good videos.
Just added to my MUST WATCH LIST My vote is to get the renewable resources(farming & forestry) up first before going after the non-renewable resources(oil & ore) as the first two(2) don't need micromanaging.

Good to see you building a city again. I love watching you do both fixing and building. You make both very entertaining and your commentary with the games glitches are hilarious! 😁
I couldn't agree more! I love all your work but I must admit that I'm really excited that you've started a new build after all this time. With your use of the Real-Time Mod and monitoring the traffic, it is clear that you've had time to become newly inspired in your approach to building. I'm all in!!!!!!
Recommendation: for this series, maybe do a "Do it this way instead..." where you build like a newer player then redo the same area as an experienced player would.
Biffa I'm sure you've been playing Cities: Skylines longer than me but I learned that if you set taxes to 12% you'll gain a steady income and no one will ever complain about the taxes. Just something to keep in mind. Thanks for the video though. I've actually started to adapt the use of roundabouts in my own cities because of you. I never realized how useful those are.
There are times when you can set 14% taxes on low residential and they don't complain and times when even a 12% on offices can make them complain instantly... But yea, 12% on everything is usually the sweet spot
Hey Biffa, as a traffic engineer (and soon to be spatial planner) I really enjoy your videos! I think some farming will look great in this city. Looking forward for the next episode! Cheers
Biffa: "Every like means a sip of tea for me." Me: **looks at likes** "If he's somehow still alive, he's had a bypass directly from his gullet to a drain. Yo Biffa! Try to do a no mod challenge and start a city, grow to 100k pop, infinite money disabled. This way we’d get a bit more tips for people who use no mods or only a few mods like me: tmpe and roundabout builder only
So it's a choice between tea farming and tea pottery? Dang ;). I think the farming area is just slightly more accessible so will have to go for that first!
Really excited to finally be able to join you with building cities on PC. Got my PC built a few weeks ago, and just bought Cities: Skylines on Steam while it’s on sale. It’s been fun building on console, but it’s just so restrictive without mods to fix the traffic especially.
I've found that fires that are already in progress don't get dealt with when you plop a fire house... Nice start Biffa, sat here quite happily with a big mug of tea getting lots of ideas for my next build - if I can get off of YT watching other people do it. :)
Good video! So happy you are doing this! I’m really looking forward to this series! Thank you! Farming first! It’s logical (city needs food), already accessible, available early, and will look nice. :D Forestry should come before too long as that is the first one available. Ore and oil are annoying to me if I play them without unlimited oil and ore on as it feels like they run out too quickly. Though I admit I probably mis-manage them, so I look forward to seeing how you handle them. I hope you do all four industries in this city as I’d like to see how you balance them all together. I see people focus on one or two, but not many people show how to balance them all with each other (supply/demand).
Yay! I'm so glad you're building a city again. It's one of my favourite things on UA-cam; I don't play this game, but I find it so satisfying to watch you build a city.
Yay, it looks like Biffa is taking my suggestion of really planning ahead with roads and traffic to minimise rebuilding. I am going to be watching this religiously because it's how I try to play, and I keep learning more and more about what I do wrong, so I keep starting new maps! Also, great choice of map, it's gorgeous.
Biffa, I think about you and this game a lot as I drive. I have a 45 minute commute to my kids’ school. They recently added roundabouts on the way and it is sooo much better. I notice turn lanes and layouts like I never did before. Thank you Biffa. Also, thank you for this city. ❤️
I did this idea where I placed parks between the people and all the metro stops. I was making so much money that I ended up setting all taxes to the lowest possible.
So happy & excited for a new City Builder! I love getting your thoughts and insight as you build cities, it's greatly helped me to get better at and enjoy the game myself. That LUT looks amazing, can't wait to see which one you're using because the ones I've used are okay but pale in comparison to that one. Thanks Biffa!
Great video man, best thing I found with making money with the parks is to also move most commerical to the other side as well, and ban normal cars on the bridge and other entering roads so they are forced to walk to work. If you change the road to a highway road on that bridge they wont be able to walk either. You'll need to add park stuff into the park as well or it won't upgrade cause of entertainment.
Biffa's city building is BACK! 👍 😁 You can't ever go wrong by going west, young man! 😆 I missed this series, great to have it return! I have this map, too. I haven't used it yet, though. Perfect to get some tips for starting from scratch and keep that traffic down. Looking forward to the next episode...
I follow your Teaville series now, but maybe I should watch back some older video's since I've recently started to play the game myself. Things I learned from this video is that I should let people pay for parks, I can take a loan in the beginning and I can start specialised industries earlier. It's a pretty overwhelming game when you start out, there are so many options. So thank you for video's like this!
I vote farming. Extend the city park to cover the paths between housing areas and the main roads. Basically force every path to be part of the park. I do that in one city of 200k people and generate $80k-$100k per week
This is by far the best UA-cam channel I’ve come across for Citi Skylines, everything from the entertaining commentary to the amazing design makes us players want to come back for more (Thank you for that!!!); I do wish a lot of this content was made available for consoles.
First off, I like the idea of filling in the farming area closest to your housing area. Second, Biffa you may want to look at your sewage and water intakes. You can see at the end when you did the before/after montage the water level drops below what looks like your sewage pump over by the windmill!! The most important thing, Love the video!!!! lol already seeing a few things I could do differently when starting a city!
Farming! Most of my in-laws are farmers. I couldn't do what they do, but they are very passionate about their work. Cows, pigs, corn, wheat.... without farmers [worldwide], society couldn't exist... except for C:S somehow. Thank you Biffa for this video... looking forward to more! ☕️☕️☕️
Thank you for a great video Biffa, it is super enjoyable to watch you build a city. I’d say start with farming and then move to forestry or ore and then start the oil as soon as it is unlocked.
Is it just me, or does the start area of this map look nearly identical to the Frostea Citea build? The coastline in particular. Good to see you back to building cities Biffa, can't wait for the next episode!
New city hype! I know that the fix it videos do better, but your city LPs is how I wound up finding and getting into this channel to begin with, so I'm glad to finally see a new one :D thank you for it!
For this series when Teaville unlocks high density zoning do not zone only high density as you have done with previous cities. You should zone 50%high 50%low.
At 19:00 when you start placing those little connecting pathways, i've created prefab assets, ie parks, as droppable pathways. I'll set an appropriate cost/maintenance along with a small happiness bonus to account for convenience related happiness created by the thoroughfare. That way there's an actual useful structure there that also looks nice and doesn't need manual editing each time it's created because it's prefabricated as an asset.
Just to be different, I say put a little farm on that area at the north-west/top-left of your map and some processing alongside it, even though there's not much of it in your city limits as yet. It just looks more accessible from your populated area and I like the idea of it being one farmer's land with just a few cows and somewhere to park his Lamborghini.
I have a suggestion for this or any other series, try to build where you're not allowed to change things too dramatically. Eg, you build a small town centre or waterfront to begin with, then you have to keep it just like a real town/city would. That way you're always conscious of your towns history etc.
This is similar to the real-time mod series u did a while back. Except this time u have got a lot more experience. Going to love watch this series 2. As for industries I would have gone for small farm up in the corner (and expand it later when buying squares), Add another junction on the highway to get more farming in the south west, leave space for the oil industries, then ore and again leave space for oil. Good luck.
Awesome a new series, very excited to see how it goes. Also I love your park trick. Built a city recently as a challenge to do 100k+ without mods and traffic 85%+. Designed a lot of the city around the park trick. The parks by far generate the most income % lol. One of the parks makes about 150k a week lol.
Thank you for your videos, I hadn’t heard of this game, stumbled across a video of yours and am now thoroughly addicted! Excellent editing, top job, and hilarious how you’ve tolled a footpath!
During all my time playing various sim City games and Cities: Skyline, I don't think I've ever used a coal power plant lol. Actually, I don't think I've ever used any energy source that wasn't renewable. Go green! Other than that, great city!
Biffa Ore first, can put roads in place for oil when doing Also need to plan for your cargo depot as space by the railway seems limited Same for passengers Also, what makes more money?? Having buses run the loop or having a metro?? Because you need to start getting ready for busy roads once the industry has been set up Loving the new city so far
So excited !!! Have to admit i havent watched tge last few videos you have uploaded as i feel it was getting a bit repetative but as soon as i saw the new city, i smashed that play and like button so fast i spilt my tea.
hey just wanted to stop in and thank you for all the great videos. I purchased the game a few weeks ago after coming across one of your videos. Great stuff! In the beginning of this video you look to place a windmill atop a hill for wind but it was out of city limits. I wanted to mention that you can max out windmills by using your moveit mod to raise it up to the wind ;) you most likely knew this already but I figured I would put it out there just in case. Thanks again! Happy building.
I am here! Ready for this new series. As soon as it turned 3pm (aka 2pm UK time) I kept refreshing my sub feed to watch this the moment it came out aka now!
gotta be farming for my vote...also i always suck early on when it comes to leaving enough spaces for pedestrian paths so you've given me a couple of tips which i found useful already..thanks!
I vote for farming. And I gotta say, this is a great way to build the city, cutting out and/or speed-building small bits, showing highlights, checking out the city's details...it's much more fun and interesting than the traditional way of "watch me fap around for ten minutes with this road." Great video.
I just randomly came across one of your videos the other day in my feed, I’m really enjoying them and I found a new interest in Cities Skylines, I was about to go search for a play through type video of Cities Skylines but decided to check if you had any like that first, turns out you do, and I’m pumped. I just really wanted to see the full development of a city, I’ve only seen the videos of you fixing other players’ traffic so far lol. However I am really excited to start this series, and wanted to say thanks for the great content, seriously loving it! Here’s a like, have a sip of tea! 😁
Hey Biffa. Gotta say love the episode! Have been following your fix my city series for a while now and since then I've come to understand the game on such a higher level! Love to follow you as you go on a new adventure :)
I like the idea of going for ore, because it's right next to another ore deposit and farm area in the vicinity! Would be very easy to continue expanding that way, I feel :)
If you're looking in the workshop for the map that's Tahonga by ecania not Acarnia. Biffa finds lost "r"s in roundabouts and tries to find them good homes.

So excited for a new lets play Sir! been a while since I finished all your old play thorough's so Im happy to see a new one! Ore is great industry, though farming and forestry has a lack of pollution id go with Ore :)
The issue with the parks is due to a vanilla pathing issue with the citizens. The only way around it is to make sure the gates have a clear space on either side of them and to not connect to them at right angles. You need to make a path straight out one or two squares, then connect your main walking paths to that. It seems that citizens walk based on a really bad waypoint system... and if two nodes are two close together (two points where a citizen needs to change directions) it will merge them and cause weird pathing. I've had citizens walk through buildings before...
So far so good. Did watch the video with half brain power. Think I have to watch it again when I have some time. Did look very cool so far and I like that you diversify from only fixing traffic.
Thank you for reading and liking my comment. So I had time now to watch it again and you really did a nice job in editing this, loved the part with the cinematic and the view swaps on beat. :-) When I play Cities Skyline I almost always go for the grid city and I'm really bad in making everything look nice. If you enjoy taking your time to brush in some trees and make everything look beautiful I would love to see that in some of the future videos with this city.
first time watching a new game of Yours Biffa, I don't own the game, it isn't really my thing , but I watch all your fixing roads videos, and some of your building cities as well. I just like watching the game play

I just bought almost all the Cities Skylines DLC because it went on sale and instead of playing the game I'm here watching you play it
I bought mass transit, gonna have a look at other DLC I might get whilst it’s on sale. Also want to get synthetic dawn radio
I did the exact same thing.
I have an extra DLC copy (steam) of concerts if anyone wants it.
Lee Hey ! And would love to get it if you could give it to me 🙏🏼

Citizens: what if we just walk completely around the unsecured path
I'm proud of the citizens of Teaville for sticking it to the Man when they could.

Good thing we have these videos to see these glitches. I wouldn't have known or believed it.

hey just wanted to stop in and thank you for all the great videos.
I've never thought of using the parks as a toll walking path before. Nice.
Been loving your fix your city series, now very excited to see you start with an empty lot.
I am here! Ready for this new series. As soon as it turned 3pm (aka 2pm UK time) I kept refreshing my sub feed to watch this the moment it came out aka now!
Enjoy the new series 👍😁👍
Who remembers Malibrew? This will be a better version of that!
6.7K sips of tea! You are never gonna sleep!
I think farming looks awesome in this game, so please expand the city with farming! And make a new highway exit for it as well.
gotta be farming for my vote...also i always suck early on when it comes to leaving enough spaces for pedestrian paths so you've given me a couple of tips which i found useful already..thanks!
I vote for farming. And I gotta say, this is a great way to build the city, cutting out and/or speed-building small bits, showing highlights, checking out the city's details...it's much more fun and interesting than the traditional way of "watch me fap around for ten minutes with this road."
Great video.
Hope you enjoy. I have many many playlists on my channel of building cities from scratch :-)
Please please please continue this series. So excited already!!
Biffa! Have you heard the "Tea Samba" by E.T. Mensah? Reckon it's be right up your alley!
Lovely to see you spicing up your channel. Look forward to more LP in the near future.
18:23 Look at the flag, they are spanish, they have siesta, they dont care about your fire.
Hey Biffa. Gotta say love the episode! Have been following your fix my city series for a while now and since then I've come to understand the game on such a higher level! Love to follow you as you go on a new adventure :)
That map is gorgeous
2021, COVID still a thing, lets watch that lovely series from start
This was a right treat. It was like dunking a Shortie into a cuppa tea!
The square with oil and farming gives you immediate growth potential and long-term, plus puts you right next to more oil and some ore
Glad you finally took the challenge!
Also fix that pollution on the beautiful river xP
I didn’t think I’d like this video but I do! Please continue the goals of this city
😁👍
I vote for farming. Can't wait for residential buildings on these hills!
When I play Cities Skyline I almost always go for the grid city and I'm really bad in making everything look nice.
HAHA the people hopping the sides of the gates on that bridge because it connected on the sides was so funny
Farming first!
Very happy you've started another city build.
