6:50 I'd allow that bus only lane to allow emergency vehicles too just in case the bus station catches on fire your first responders can, well, respond.
I love this series following the development of a city! I know they don't get as much engagement as the one-offs, but I really appreciate that you're doing some of this too anyway.
I noticed on those two busy roundabouts during rush hour that the cars are mostly slowly down due to pedestrians crossing. Maybe make an alternate pedestrian route for that area to avoid congestion. Ps. Loving the series so far :)
In my city where I have bus lanes only for the bus depot, I have the SOS and police vehicles also enabled just in case of fire or crime. Something to consider. Love your videos!
I thought I would be sly once and make a metro station with only footpaths to it. It worked great for about 20 seconds before the game decided to spawn a criminal there in protest. If cops can't drive there, criminals will happily walk.
Biffa, I liked watching you play this game so much that I got it for myself. (I dont even know how I stumbled onto your videos but im glad I did!) This game is silly addictive, you make a little tweak to clear up traffic on one place, sit, watch, realize someplace else is affected and it's slowing down, fix that, sit, watch, realize you messed up super bad somehow somewhere and you have a parking lot for a highway, you spend 20 minutes finding the one little mistake, then magically.... everyone breaks loose like ice on a spring river and it's SO SATISFYING.
The housing market in that one section is on fire! Pricing is lit! There's always a barbeque going for the new arrivals! It's always 4:20 somewhere in Teaville... :)

In-front of the bus depot, you should change the direction of the one-way so the buses don't have to cross in-front of each other when entering and exiting the bus station.
I love your videos so much! In the last few weeks i watched all of the traffic fix videos because i got kinda addicted watching how you make the traffic flow again, it's soo satisfying 😂😂👌🏻 I can't say why but i like it! Also i like how funny you comment everything and all the funny words you use. Also i played Cities Skylines by myself again and the tipps really worked well. Would probably make more sense to reverse the direction of the road for the bus station so the buses aren't crossing over each other as they are entering and leaving the station.
When we have self driving cars, we’ll be able to look at traffic jams and tell cars to choose their lanes earlier, when to give way, when to go through, merge, etc. via cloud based HD maps. GOOD good good good.
There is a setting in TMPE to automatically block trucks and cars from bus lanes. Your bus station will still need city service vehicle access. I would also try to make all bus lines go in a counter-clockwise loop/string without crossing themselves (but sometimes the route tool just won't cooperate!)
I really like buses. Although I mainly use subways and monorails for direct connections to downtown. Since my city is a metro area, I use trains, subways, and monorails for connections to downtown, while the buses circulate throughout the different cities.

15:25 you can use the (small) 4 lane road with bus lanes from BadPeanut for that: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1173889509&searchtext=2+lane+bus+road
I started watching your previous Real Time series a day or so before you started this series, so now I keep getting confused on which city is which. 😂 I’m like, “what happened to the big oil field and the nature reserve??” Wroooong serieeees. Haha!
At 3:00, you've got a roundabout with two directions on it (that's a first for me...) and just as you say 'toasty warm', we see a forest and building on fire...
17:25 That's not how roundabouts are meant to work... The inside lane should be for continuing on and turning off, and the outside lane should be for turning off only. That way, if someone only wants to go to the next exit they don't have to wait to come on
Your traffic in the Yorkshire Tea farms at the roundabouts would also be helped with pedestrian overpasses (park?) or underpasses, as its slowing traffic down to let them cross (well, before the ovalabout)...
There is only 1 place where your traffic backs up, and that can be fixed by puting in some pedestrian paths over/under the road and ban crossing. Because cars were stopping because of people crossing.
A combination of your City Fixing Series AND your City Building Series, Biffa! 😳 As you would say, "Brilliant!" 😆👍 Also, a "warm and toasty area" while a fire is burning in said area! 😆 Hilarious! 😆
Makes buses only lanes, bans all traffic on them, then allows buses again. My faith in your traffic management prowess is dwindling rapidly. ;p Also, please say you didn't see the area on fire at 3:20 when you said "Nice warm toasty area to live in" :D
Why do you have all your buses making U-turns? Do you have any idea how hard that would be? Also, those red areas were red because traffic had to keep stopping at the roundabouts because pedestrians kept crossing there! Add some elevated paths or turn off crosswalks and those roads will clear up.
correct me if I'm wrong, but the "pick your lane" should be on the round-about not on the road leading onto it. you want them to change lanes on the nodes of roundabouts (as the bus did at 18:09)
I'd think you'd want them on both. If you don't have it for the people coming on, they'd be forced into a lane they can't get out of and forced off the roundabout. You'd also want it for the people already on the roundabout so they can leave it.
Hi Biffa, I know you're not building just grids but once you've got the city centre sorted please follow the treelines of the fields so it looks more natural. This map is crying out for a more organic city.
You could probably make that bus only road into a road with bus lanes because everyone from that residential is driving through that industry roundabout to get home which might be why it gets chockablock
I was thinking that you could have used the in game tool to see where the traffic was going to know where you’re mass transit would have the best effect
People crossing the road at the roundabout are blocking the flow of traffic, get some walkways over the road and close down those pedestrian crossings.
I personally build 'normal' cities with much traffic I have to say, but I rarely use strange road formations or something ugly and I have a Traffic flow of around 84-88%. I'm magic I guess. XD (Vanilla on console with all DLC's)
Biffa, I don't think the bus lines should run around a single neighbourhood. Buses usually run along a single road and have connections to multiple other bus lines and maybe a metro or two. Cims like that too! That's why more of them use the "direct lines"
you can add parking lines on the university parking road, you have them as props if I remember correct, which will be used as parking spots as well and in townt look weird
