The interesting part about this performance is that when Cornell and Vedder did the song, Vedder did the low part and brought people in while Cornell would smash the higher register part of it. On this version, Cornell sang Vedder's part immaculately and gave Chester the time to shine with the upper register part. This is a wonderful performance emphasizing Cornell's unselfish behavior toward other artists and talent and Chester's true vocal ability to smash the upper register part. It is extremely sad that both men are no longer with us. I was a huge fan of both men and their groups.

Now, I discovered Kurt's heartrending songs .After him, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden. "No one sings like you anymore"
no :(
Yes , tool
And Deftones*
We miss you Chester and Chris!! You left this world far too early!! Your music will forever live on!!
Was lucky enough to see this live. The audio quality here doesn't do it justice, great performance!
Was this at Jones beach NY?
You didn't see this performance live; it's a cool thing to say man but I find it pretty hard to believe that 7 months ago you decided to advertise that you'd seen this.... I've seen this video about 2,000 times in the past two or three years
@Courtney Ellis they could have still seen this live smart one
@@courtneyellis3247 You're right, I was at the show in MA that kicked off this tour. They did perform this song there though, and it was amazing
I'm certainly not right. Massachusetts is on the right side of this country isn't it? I've never been there..... Wait a second now maybe I have been there is that where Boston is no I've been to Baltimore I've never been to Massachusetts though.... I think Maryland's better I'm not sure though maybe I should go to Massachusetts Mississippi is okay I might as well go there I've been to Alabama as a matter of fact I've been to Mississippi too so f*** that I'm going to Massachusetts
I miss these two legends specially this 2020. what a disaster. Stay safe everyone.
They are not legends they are COWARDS because they checked out of LIFE because it got to difficult for them. I thought about it many times but I fought for my LIFE with all I had no matter how hard things got, I found a way through it. I put my Famliy above any problems I had, I owed it to them ?
@@AustinPetDetective yeah, they are cowards for what they've done but they are legends for what they wrote.
Keep it up man, fight the urges. life is to precious to be wasted for some little problems.
AustinPetDetective good for you, you self righteous prick.
@@miekaash6831 The truth hurts doesn't it dick head.
Wrong dickhead man, the ones that’s a dick head is the guy above me ☝🏿
God this brings back memories...
👀👀 And they're farming babies, while the slaves are working, the blood is on the table, the mouths are choking, but im going hungry.... thank you for opening our eyes to things we should have been aware of decades ago. Fly high, you beautiful souls 🥺😇
Chris was born on July 20 1964. Chester died on July 20 2017. RIP legends.
So so so sad.
Truly 2 beautiful souls that touched the world through their voices makes me feel blessed to have had the privilege of hearing them makes me feel sad that they couldn’t be comforted by the love their fans had for them
Chris you and Chester had no business leaving us we miss you ...we hope you have found peace
Chris: I'm going hungry

Chris took Eddie's part and Chester took Chris's part from the record...amazing!
Both these men were mRdered for the words of this song and how millions of people would hear it. HEROS & TRUTH
2:50 the way they look at each other just jamming out as buddies. Very bittersweet.
1:31 gives me chills every single time.
Chris hits those high notes at the end without even really trying. Absolute legend.
I mean, this part was literally written for him. It wouldn't have been there if he couldn't do it reliably and consistently.
Not saying this isn't impressive, just that we shouldn't be surprised he could sing his own song.
Definitely a beautiful beloved legend!
@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid You must be fun at parties.
@@franktranks9445 I am, how did you know?

I am proud that I grew up listening these men.
RIPower Chris and Chester🙏🙏
This song has an extra meaning when you are awake and you know why both of these man died
Explain.. I’m genuinely interested..
In deed! It is wisely done, for some to understand at their own capabilities reach. I was a fan already and heard it for years, but then... many ways on personal seekings drove me to this notion. And then it was FKN clear! And became to me much more brave, unique and beautiful than ever before.
@@leahperkins1165 you must research and come to your own conclusion. The truth is learned. It’s never told.
They both died because they had depression. I don't see what that song has to do with it...
@@leahperkins1165 listen to the lyrics. "Blood is on the table , fire is coocking and they farming baby's." When you wanne know the truth , search for it !
Damn, I couldn’t help tearing up when Chester came in and hugged his big bro, Chris b
😢😢💔💔
Hit like if this song was your light during alot of difficult times growing up in the 90s. But even through the loneliness, being somewhat misunderstood and growing pains of that era, through the poisons of the time, you now use it as a reminder youre a survivor. Youre a fighter and you're still here, but with a depth of wisdom and experience.
RIP to these legends for providing the soundrtack to our adolescence.
Chris Cornell is forever awesome
When Chester came on and hugged Chris I bout bursted into tears

Forever brothers. Chester singing and shining on top and Chris singing bottom like a humble older brother.
Still Loving this in 2024. Rest Easy C & C
Soldiers of truth. Heroes.
When Chester hits those hi notes it puts chills on me!! Those two were amazing
They tried to tell us. And we didn't hear. But we know now. Rip Chris and Chester. We love you and thank you for the real words, situation awareness, and awakening. Forever love you!

The absolute truth

Justice for them both
This song haunts me more now than it did back then.
As this life unfolds, I appreciate the ones using their platform to expose and call attention to the devils and demons in the industry.
What they sing is so much more than meets the ear.
God bless these two beautiful souls. Thank you 🙏🏽 🦅
Probability the best two vocalist of a generation sadly no longer with us ❤❤
Rest in peace guys. I hope you're smashing duets in heaven for our Lord. Your sacrifice won't be forgotten. WWG1WGA
This is how I chose to remember both. Two buddies hanging together jamming a great song. Looks like they are having fun too. Ima etch this in my brain. I don't mean to step on their passing. It's just that if I am to remember peeps, I'd rather it be the good times. And this seems to be one of them
That's deep man, remember things for the good times, the simple moments of joy that live on forever.
These two heavenly beauties. God I miss them so much 😢
I don't mind the people who don't understand the subject matter of the song, but the people who pretend they don't understand, pray for mercy.
MAGA
One simply cannot listen to this and watch this video without tearing up. Rest in peace guys.
R.I.P Chris and Chester you both are legends to the music world.
I saw Chris live 3 times with Soundgarden (for the reunion tour) and 2 times solo and also Chester live with LP maybe 2 or 3 month before his death, just one fucking year away from Cornell's one :-(. 2 of my favourite singers and Artists. 2 great voices that went away but are still there with us everyday.
Keep safe and rocking friend and if you have time come check the new song I posted with R&O, would love your views on it : ua-cam.com/video/kXsua5jVNtQ/v-deo.html

I fckn loved these 2, so heartbroken
Me too :/
Chester's face when he joins Chris is so beautiful. I wish we could've bottled it.
I think the great singers was passed away in advance. RIP to Chris and Chester! You missed to all your fans, forever! 🎸🎵 😢
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, 2 lost souls rt there, miss u both ❤️
Jesus Christ, the voice differences make the whole song right here. Absolute geniuses.
Crazy how they hugged and Chris wipes his neck, first thing I thought, who would’ve knew.
??
Knew what?
Rip two legends
RIP Chris and Chester ❤ you've left a lasting impression on our hearts.
1:24 I couldn't imagine being at this show and seeing Chester come walking out, singing this song, with his friend... #MakeChesterProud #RespectInPeaceChris
Zarpado lo que cantaba Chester, increible cantante... Y Chris, otro supremo cantante!
Tremendo ambos!
I'm just discovering those extraordinay singers. Many years ago, our radio gave only Nirvana songs where Kurt was howling. I didn't like it and kept away from grunge music. Now, I discovered Kurt's heartrending songs .After him, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden. My God, an entire new world : incredibles voices, humanity, friendship, real life stories, music that give me goosebump, audiences's enthousiasm, like mine. I'd like to be a part of this family.
Seeing Chester and Chris, my favourite musicians singing together on stage, makes my heart so happy. I'm only 15 so I never really had a chance to appreciate and feel their music whilst both bands where active, but at least I have the internet to watch things like this
Chris and Chester. Missed! We heard their voices...
Nobody hit that note like Chester!
Still makes me cry. 😭
R. I. P Chester and Cornell 🖤🖤🖤😭😭😭🙏🏼
