Ever since I heard what happened to Chris I can’t help but wish he too would have reached out for help cause sometimes we suffer silently and people around us have no idea the voices or voice saying just do it ! It’ll stop the pain and it’ll make that voice go away and you’ll be in a better place! But now I have new voices saying maybe it’ll make things way way worse! Maybe you will survive and you’ll know a new level of pain that made the old pain seem tolerable or maybe you will die and go to a place you wish you weren’t and you’ll never escape! But either way I like life more than death at my own hand! I just wish that Chris was still here cause he was and is special!
I was born in 1976. I say this all the time, but what a time to grow up in music. I graduated high school in 1994 and these guys were on the soundtrack of my youth. So many others… we’ve lost so many and it hurts me.
There was definitely an aspect of tortured souls syndrome with a lot of these important artist. Swept through that generation like the plague. My brother was caught up in that undertow and died of an overdose. Very spiritual, demonic if you ask me. That music cost them something. You dig too deep and realize it's your own grave.
Shaneolian really low.. look up the side effects of Ativan before making a low unintelligent remark. He also created music that helped many people through their shit lives. He gained all he had by his unique talent, coming from nothing. So fuck right off thinking he offed himself out of being ungrateful. It's people like you that make our world shit.
gman I totally agree! That drug in my opinion put him in his grave😭😭😭He took too many😭😭Rest In Peace Chris😥you were a troubled man but you sang your heart out!
My dad died in 2017, of pancreatic cancer. I started practicing fasting when i heard it can help prevent cancer. About 2 1/2 years after I completed my first day long fast, i was traveling to visit family & friends who have since moved to Alberta, Canada. While traveling out of Airdrie, this song came on the rock radio out there, and I never forgot it because I think it every time I fast.
This song was playing today while my son had an emergency dental procedure done! This was one of the songs that my daddy listened to when I was a little girl growing up! He passed away from Cardiac arrest on July 10th, 2023 at 6:00 pm. He died alone! He was there today not only with me but he was also with his youngest grandson who he only met three times. I haven't felt him that close in some time!! Finally a sign from him! Sleep peacefully Pop until I get there watch over us! You are at peace and no longer fighting your demons!
Eddie Vedder just happened to be in the studio when Chris Cornell was recording this song and struggled w the low parts so Eddie picked up the mic and Chris made it a duet. Was when pearl jam was first forming.
Who hasn't wanted to stand in Olympic Park just to try and imagine they are part of this magic. Such a special piece of music history with some truly unique musicians.
Layne, Kurt, Scott and Chris, we miss you singing on behalf of our generation. Thank you for expressing our angst, our sadness, our disdain, our pain, etc. But you also sang about unity, hope, humility, respect, etc. Thank you.
Andrew Wood... One of the Patriarch of Grunge for sure Temple of the Dog is here cause of him (he created these words that Chris later named the group) Sad he didn't live longer Eddie and Chris is great but Andy and Chris singing together would be phenomenal

or a great song to make us realize we are a fuckin greedy society that wont survive as a species until we realize survival and riches are 2 different things.
Guys, this is all a gross over generalization. There's so much music being made today by so many types of people and a lot of it is good. Just because all you know about is the stuff that's popular doesn't mean every contemporary musician or band is bad or somehow less than these older bands. Sometimes you just have to spend a little time looking for it.

Fabrizio Chiapelli Hey dude, you can listening Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters if you want to nostalgia with grunge and rock music from the Seattle Area figures.
RIP Chris Cornell. 4 years gone, today.😪 your voice defined the struggles of my life, thru temple of a dog, soundgarden, and especially Audioslave. I am clean now these 8 years, and feel your loss in my soul.
It still blows my mind that Cornell and Vedder did a project together. The again the age of post-grunge supergroups like Audioslave and Velvet Revolver gets me hyped too. Rock n roll lives on.
Yes I am, my kids also listen to other greats like Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Tool. I know I am going to sound old but it is hard to find new decent music.
This song is getting more and more relevant everyday. This world doesn’t suck, but it’s leaders and alot of people in it do. We can all make a change. Remember, “they” need us way more than we need them.
Very right, you are @eternaladventure-wm. I have been saying the exact same thing for over 50 years now. And the same result is today as it was back then, people just don't want to get it anymore. And I blame the government for it all. Good example is social media, what is social media? Well it is not controlled by the citizens, although we would like to think so. Social media is controlled by the government. Social, socially, socialize, social reform, socialize medicine, socialism it is one of the same, people have to learn to strap on a pair of brass ones and take the bull bu the hornes and bury its head in the dirt! Because there are more followers than there are leaders. Tell me what you think
Probably more relevant now in 2023 than when it was first released, kinda sad that we as humans, as a country learn absolutely nothing and keep repeating the same mistakes.
was relevant when it came out. I made it from New Jersey to Seattle that year. Aside from associations. Back then it was either Faster Pussycat and hairspray bands like that or as they called it "boring" Seattle. It was enchanting.
Born in '76, listening to this takes me back to being driven to orthodontics appointments by my dad and listening to this album (my choice, but i think he liked it). He's been gone since 2010 - miss you my dear Dad. Xx

Eddie's voice breaks through like a beam of sunlight. Missing Chris Cornel.
Eddie..💯
The name is Eddie don't wear it out.💯😆😆😆😆😆6😆
Agree!!
Yes. always felt that about Vedder s voice in this vid.

I'm gonna leave this comment if someone likes this comment I'm going back to listen to this masterpiece [EDIT] I'm popular.
Do it bish
Listen to it once more on me...
Hi!
Welcome back my guy
So much so good music in my life
Those two men together wow ❤just about two the best voices from my generation.. I grew up with them ..this song is still 🔥🔥🔥
I was born in 1976. I say this all the time, but what a time to grow up in music. I graduated high school in 1994 and these guys were on the soundtrack of my youth. So many others… we’ve lost so many and it hurts me.
Around dinner time I Use to sing the Im going hungry part to my mother when I was a teen 😆😆😆😆😆
@@blackcruze1379 Classic
Me too lol I graduated in 94 and all this music just still makes me reminisce.
It Sucks
R.I.P. Chris Cornell, such amazing talent, thank you for all that you gave us!
+gman I could not have said it any better. :)
Thank you Chris. You are very special.
and do you think that this is "all"???
Shaneolian really low.. look up the side effects of Ativan before making a low unintelligent remark. He also created music that helped many people through their shit lives. He gained all he had by his unique talent, coming from nothing. So fuck right off thinking he offed himself out of being ungrateful. It's people like you that make our world shit.
gman I totally agree! That drug in my opinion put him in his grave😭😭😭He took too many😭😭Rest In Peace Chris😥you were a troubled man but you sang your heart out!
Shaneolian why don't you follow in his footsteps and do the same
My dad died in 2017, of pancreatic cancer.
Not too many people can say that their two favorite singers sang a song together
David bowie and freddie mercury
Love this song though 💕
R.i.p Chris
Bing and Bowie :p
MJ & Paul
RIP scott weiland, andrew wood, chris cornell, layne staley, kurt kobain: the masters of grunge. 🤘I'll listen your musics for forever and ever.
For real bro they will never die ❤
and Shannon Hoon
At least Eddie Vedder is still around.
And Chester Bennington 🤘🏾
@@Grym0626 technically he ain't grunge, but yeah rip to him
Still a timeless classic song. RIP Chris Cornell.
2024. And the world's fallen apart

It's all Trump's fault.
Oh well

Crazy how this is a duet between two of the best voices on grunge, this is exceptionally beautiful. What a masterpiece, so grateful to listen to this.
This was done before the fact and released after they gained popularity.
they are just a friends
Exactly!
I think that this is a Great Moment in (Musical) History! :)
Eddie Vedder just happened to be in the studio when Chris Cornell was recording this song and struggled w the low parts so Eddie picked up the mic and Chris made it a duet. Was when pearl jam was first forming.
This song is amazing but 2 me the 2 best grunge singers are Layne Staley and Kurt Cobain.
R.I.P Chris Cornell
It hurts so much. RIP Chris.
Who hasn't wanted to stand in Olympic Park just to try and imagine they are part of this magic. Such a special piece of music history with some truly unique musicians.
I will never stop listening to this song
Chris cornell was the voice of a generation. Rest in peace big guy
Layne, Kurt, Scott and Chris, we miss you singing on behalf of our generation. Thank you for expressing our angst, our sadness, our disdain, our pain, etc. But you also sang about unity, hope, humility, respect, etc. Thank you.
Whattabout Eddie?
And Chester
Andrew Wood
@@SpressoHead - Eddie has done so, but he's still with us for another 34957934578 decades, so...
Andrew Wood...
One of the Patriarch of Grunge for sure Temple of the Dog is here cause of him (he created these words that Chris later named the group)
Sad he didn't live longer Eddie and Chris is great but Andy and Chris singing together would be phenomenal
This song is deeeeeeeep in meaning. Very. Profound. Rabbit hole deep. The talent-no words. Pioneers.
Like scarf and doorknob deep, Cornell and Chester were down the same hole...
Wtf this rabbit hole lingo? Is that supposed to be like Alice in wonderland? That movie sucks. What is the temple of the dog anyway. Sirius Church?
@@user-ss2jn3rp1e human trafficking, Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington were producing a documentary shortly prior to their mysterious deaths...
Imagine what could have been or happened if these guys had continued as a band.
There is no doubt that this would be one of the best bands of all time.
A great song for the apocalypse... on a more serious note, RIP Chris.
WTF are you prepping for?
the millennials lol
or a great song to make us realize we are a fuckin greedy society that wont survive as a species until we realize survival and riches are 2 different things.
Nice to see you here cp. I've been subbed to you channel for a year or so now. Keep it up man.
Cuz the apocalypse isn’t serious.?!
Just one of a billion reasons why the 90s ruled. Music today isn't even in the same stratosphere as this.
seriously. we didn't appreciate it enough when we had it.
+Charity Sutphin i know. i cant stop listening to this song. i was five when it came out. what happened to music? ?!!
+Charity Sutphin we didn't know it would just kill over and die... music that is! Have you heard Chris Cornell daughter sing? Omg ,there's hope !!
+Vintersemestre00
you're right, there is good music. the point is that good radio is basically dead. sad. all radio is basically contrived garbage.
I‘m so hungy for music like that 😂❤😂❤❤❤❤
I was 20 in 1991. One of the best years in music.❤❤❤
Chris and Eddie’s vocals go together so well in this song
Perfection
Two of the best vocalist ever hands down.
Agreed
facepalm. Go listen to Freddie, then come back and chime in.
Freddy Fender?
Oh, that gap toothed pervert, I was actually taking the piss about Freddy Fender. Queen sound so much better with Paul Rodgers singing.
+killerDIRK1 Just listened to Bohemian Rhapsody, and ya Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder are still two of the best vocalists ever. Oh and Robert Plant > Freddie Mercury
God is really hitting me with thoughts of fasting recently. Today especially. This song is just another reminder.
Dive in. Hmu. I'll fast with you...
this song gives me the chills all the time

This song could be 10 minutes long and I'd still think it's too short. What a beautiful masterpiece.
Goosebumps and tears Everytime

I love both these guys but Eddie's voice gives me shivers. RIP Chris you will never be forgotten.
Hands down the best collaboration ever. I’m so glad I was old enough to truly appreciate these two artists separately and together before Chris passed. So amazing!!😊
I'm not okay at all, I'm lost for words. RIP Chris

Eddie Vedder hates how the world is...so he shuts him self in, away from it. I'm sure Eddie will live to be 100. Lol. :)

VEDDER AND CORNELL- VOICES OF THE MASTERS
What a great song! They don’t make music like this anymore!🎵❤️🎵❤️🎼
2:01 - Chris Cornell's symphonic yelling echoing Vedder's monotone on that first hook is one of the most resonating and powerful things I've ever heard in music.

He was a rock singer, fuck "grunge".

It still blows my mind that Cornell and Vedder did a project together. The again the age of post-grunge supergroups like Audioslave and Velvet Revolver gets me hyped too. Rock n roll lives on.
I hope people are raising their children on this music.

Preach
Probably more relevant now in 2023 than when it was first released, kinda sad that we as humans, as a country learn absolutely nothing and keep repeating the same mistakes.
was relevant when it came out. I made it from New Jersey to Seattle that year. Aside from associations. Back then it was either Faster Pussycat and hairspray bands like that or as they called it "boring" Seattle. It was enchanting.
Amen 🙏
Born in '76, listening to this takes me back to being driven to orthodontics appointments by my dad and listening to this album (my choice, but i think he liked it). He's been gone since 2010 - miss you my dear Dad. Xx
