Look up who the Bridge School Concert benefits. I would honestly think most people watching this video knows who this long time charity concert series benefits.
Honestly, I felt uncomfortable because I don't know if the kids even want to be there in the first place. I can't think of many things worse for people in that condition than being stuck listening to live music you don't like for hours and being helpless to leave.
Look up pizza gate and child trafficking! He was going to expose a massive global child trafficking ring. He was silenced. So was Chester from Linkin Park.
The amazing thing about Chris Cornell was how he managed to keep his voice all throughout his career without shredding it. He was able to make this incredible wailing, shrieking sound without hurting his chords, and so he sounded phenomenal up until the end
He kind of shredded it when he was in Audioslave. If you look at most of the live performances from then, he sounds pretty rough. He got it back though around the time Soundgarden reunited.
When you're really raw emotionally and seeing Chris .. hurting like this, but smiling through it...the tears flow. Vedder clearly makes him better in these moments. The love they share is clear and beautiful to see. This moment is forever.

It requires a shit ton of vocal control. You could tell that he and Eddie were focused on not killing their voices like they used to in the past. If I remember correctly, Chris even needed to have four surgeries done on his folds. That kind of belting comes from years of practising a belting technique that only a few people can learn.

April 1991. 28...wait, TWENTY EIGHT years ago this album was released. Blew my mind and I had no idea who these rugged voices were or who they were paying tribute to. Year unfolded and we were blessed with BadMotorFinger and Ten. And also Nevermind. What was happening?! Backing up a bit, there was Mother Love Bone. It all made sense. This was a unified front of brothers paying respect to a fallen brother. The Love Child. Don't forget Screaming Trees. Mudhoney. "The Sound". I'm 51 now and I can proudly remember my youth with memories of etched friendships, revolving angst, yearning for truth. Sadly, the voices that pioneered are now echoes but immortally preserved in vinyl and the timeless covers that remind our youth of today that it wasn't just cool music, it was music that changed lives.
Growing up I always playfully argued with my parents about listening to 'old music and could never fully understand why they couldn't embrace the new music. Now at 47, I totally understand. I live the past through the music I grew up with. And whilst I can listen to new music it's this kind of music that I always return to, reliving my youth over and over.
I cant watch Chris without tears in my eyes- always had a big crush on him, his soul, his light, his heart, his depth, his sensitivity, his bravery, his integrity, his voice, his artistry, his beauty..... he has it all
I love that Matt's in this shot too. Look how in sync they all are here. It's so sad man. I still can't believe about CC. All I can say is if you know someone who's sad and has bad depression just be nice to that person reach out every now and then. Idk what else to say. We love you, Chris!!! I agree. I love how Matt points at Chris at the end. It’s like he’s saying, “You’re the man... the greatest.” Matt... drummer for Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. God, let that sink in.
It's July, 2020 and everyone is gone except Eddie. Wish he could piece a couple of musician's together and Eddie would do the rest. If you were a fan of Pearl Jam, you will always remember that voice!! One in a million. NEVER could find another!!
Huh, You do realise that Pearl Jam is still putting out albums with the same line-up from the 90's. The newesy album is fantastic and Pearl Jam with Eddie never stopped making great music.
Im a grown man and rarely cry. I actually teared up watching this video seeing how powerful their friendship was and knowing that Eddy wont experience moments like this with Chris anymore.
I remember being in my 20s just a young punk listening to this song and saying this was something special 20 years ago. Watching this and hearing those vocals bring me back to being that young punk thinking that I would forever see this song. Now I’m closing in on 50 and this song is still just as amazing as it was when I was 24!!!
Cornell was terrible with this song and sang like an elderly man until the final third were he could get into his high registry. Their stage presence was shit and unbecoming of the song.
I love Chris just as much as anyone else, but his last few years performing were definitely not his best. He always sounded off-time. I’m sure whatever drugs he was on didn’t help.
We have lost SO MANY fabulous, amazing, uniquely original, never to be duplicated voices. Its heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking. I thank GOD that I got to be alive at the same time as them, to hear them, see them, LOVE THEM. I thank GOD! I really do!
Love how anytime Chris sings off beat or does any change to the melody it works absolutely perfect. Such a great voice... I miss all those lost but never forgotten voices and souls. RIP Andrew, Kurt, Scott and Chris
Watching this makes me smile & sad at the same time. Is that possible? It's the bond, the friendship, the talent. Chris always paid respect to all he performed with. Such a loss ❤🦘🐨
WoW! I didn’t know this was the LAST time they performed this song together! For some reason I thought they performed it at another time after this. So while I knew I was witnessing something special by being there and seeing it in person, it has become beyond significant and is now a historically important performance! So happy they performed this and a few more Temple songs. It was a truly magical night! Feel privelidged to have witnessed it.
Don't understand why the hell these two didn't made more songs together... They would have been a complete success. Edit: Wow so many likes! Thank you very much!!
They had their own styles . Even though they were part of the Grunge era /Seattle sound , they were different. Pearl Jam rose after Andy’s death and don’t sound anything like Mother Love Bone. Temple of the Dog formed after Andy died and they sounded nothing like MLB. They were all friends with Layne and no one sounded like him and never will.. Artists are just that , artists . They needed to be free to do their own thing . With the exception of Andy, they all were hugely successful in their own right . Andy unfortunately died before he was able to get the success he deserved, but he has never been forgotten.
I was there for this concert. This was such a great concert. The fact that this was the last time Eddie and Chris would ever perform this song together makes me even more grateful I went to that year's Bridge Benefit Concert.
Every time these legends performed this song together, you can just see the immense amount of respect and love they have for each other. It kills me that there's so few of these guys left...
Thank you for uploading this. I'm not interested in copying this. I am very interested in just relaxing and enjoying these two extraordinary people whose voices harmonize into one. You can see, hear and feel the compassion, respect, admiration and true friendship they had for each other. The sound quality is outstanding. I wish I had been to this, or any live performances of Chris Cornell. It's sad to have lost him, and I'll never know why he's gone, but it's given me second thoughts to follow the same tragic path which he and Chester followed. But there's got to be a better way to work through depression and take control of your future.
Larry Fulmer If you ever think about something like that, don't do it, talk to somebody. I know how it feels to be depressed. But there's always at least one person who cares, and it's selfish to do that to them. Put them through the same pain you went through to think those thoughts. And if you have no one you will find someone trust me.😊
Breaks my heart seeing those kids. My Mom was a teacher, and she took a position in a program called REACH in an Elementary school. It was for special kids just like these amazing children. She asked me many times to come by and see them. One day I did that, and it touched me like nothing else could. They were special, and so was my Mother. I couldn't have done what she did.
Im so happy that we were able to grow up in this generation and listen and see such amazing artists like Crhis Cornell. At the same time very sad! I can't help but tear up when I watch Chris sing. He was Soooo good!! God I hope thier is a heaven where he is singing!
I HAVE BEEN IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG SINCE I WAS 15!! NEVER COULD I HAVE IMAGINED CHRIS WOULD LEAVE THE WAY HE DID, BUT THERE IS A SAYING; "THE BRIGHTEST STARS BURN HALF AS LONG", & I HAVE TO THINK OF HIM THAT WAY. THANK GOD EDDIE HAD BEEN A TRUE PILLAR THROUGH ALL OF THE LOSE OF INCREDIBLY CLOSE FRIENDS TO SUCH SENSELESS ENDS. WE ALL NEED TO TRY AND REACH OUT, NO MATTER HOW PROUD OR ASHAMED OF HOW DEEPLY SAD YOU FEEL. TOMORROW IS NOT PROMISED TO ANYONE, & WE HAVE TO LIVE EACH DAY AS IF IT'S OUR LAST BECAUSE ONE DAY WE WILL BE RIGHT! HANG ON, TELL SOMEONE, AND LIVE YOUR TRUTH. YOUR A PRICELESS AND BEAUTIFUL. I HAVE BEEN THERE, SO FAR DOWN, & I STILL FIGHT MYSELF. PLEASE FIGHT WITH ME!!
Hits me right in the feels.. I miss you Chris Cornell.. ur music helped raise me. R.I.P. my brother. U inspired a generation.. the best generation to date i believe
I was there at this show. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Tom Jones {who was incredible}, guys from the Beach Boys, Neil Young put the whole thing on. Amazed getting to see Temple of the Dog, and hearing of Chris Cornells passing, I can't watch this video without shedding more than a few tears. One of the saddest, yet happiest moments of my entire life. Layne, Chris, nobody better than the two of you. RIP
I like how eddie vedder puts in the same effort n enthusiasm of every performance ive ever seen or heard of him over all these years. Such a rare thing nowadays. No videos of him being drunk n getting in fights w the crowd n doing things half-assed.
My favorite part of this video, besides seeing the camaraderie between Chris and Ed, is Matt's smile right at the end of the song. You can tell how excited he is to be there playing with his friends.
WOW, amazing performance! Two incredibly powerful voices. So sad this was the last time performing this song together, but ty, President Pizza (lol, great name), for capturing this moment and sharing with us! 🙏🏼
Love them. O ,Someday ,we gonna died all. I use to listen when i was a good teen 1990s .. Now its 2019 ,December ,8 Sunday morning . I live in Aizawl ,Mizoram . Northeast India... Miss Chriss Cornell . Miss many many friends ,families , ... I going hungry ...
These men fought with me daily as I sang in my head to their music, they got me through my battle with their lyrics...Fought lung, adrenal & lymph node cancer !! Would not be here now if not for them!! Esp. Eddie words!!!
Es hermoso ver como se miran. Admirable amistad. se amaban profundamente. Imagino el vacío enorme que debe haber dejado en Eddie, la muerte de Chris. Jamás habrá otro como el. Ojalá esté en un lugar donde sea feliz...
I've been watching this since it was first posted, I can't get enough. Once and a while I need a reminder of how powerful and pure their voices were together. Chris, there will never be another like you. Chester, they broke the mold. Eddie, take care of those golden pipes, you're beautiful tone is greatly needed today.
That beam of light that came down at the very end, seemed Heaven sent. So lovely to light up two LEGENDS!!!! My heart still crushes every single time I see Chris. I still can't believe foul play didn't have something to do with all that. Like me( in a small way) I too had my addiction to same drugs. But 10 yrs later I still struggle. But my adult kids keep me going. He was way stronger than me, so why , I want to ask him what happened? Blinded by my tears. Hope this makes sense.
It was foul play. Him and Chester Bennington both. Look at what they were trying to expose that was happening to the children. The lyrics of this song run deeper than what people initially think. It is sad.
I'm here and it's friday, 4/5/2024. Timeless, the song will never grow old. Only us.
I feel so bad for Eddie...can't be easy losing all your friends and being the last Seattle frontman standing.
Chris eckman also, from the walkabouts. They were all friends
There’s many left
zepps88 Mark lanegan? Mark Arm? There’s plenty left, all of them were at least acquainted with each other
Hes really the last figurehead of grunge remaining, it csnt be easy for him to think about
He's the last frontman standing of the big 4, but by far not the last Seattle frontman standing. Triple H, Mudhoney, The Melvins etc.
Eddie's voice roars, Chris's voice soars. Love this. So. Damn. Much.

Now I’m closing in on 50 and this song is still just as amazing as it was when I was 24!!!
well said jdj, well said....
Rock on dudeee
The way Chris does sings Hunger Strike here is just amazing. Those low notes sound so great, perfect.
Cornell was terrible with this song and sang like an elderly man until the final third were he could get into his high registry. Their stage presence was shit and unbecoming of the song.
@@toddapplegate Agree. It was obvious that Chris was high on Heroin in this duet.
I love Chris just as much as anyone else, but his last few years performing were definitely not his best. He always sounded off-time. I’m sure whatever drugs he was on didn’t help.
RIP Chris. My generation lost one of the great voices
The human race lost a great voice
We have lost a few it seems it's sad
At the very least about six awesome voices
We have lost SO MANY fabulous, amazing, uniquely original, never to be duplicated voices. Its heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking. I thank GOD that I got to be alive at the same time as them, to hear them, see them, LOVE THEM. I thank GOD! I really do!
I still come here ❤
Love how anytime Chris sings off beat or does any change to the melody it works absolutely perfect. Such a great voice... I miss all those lost but never forgotten voices and souls.
RIP Andrew, Kurt, Scott and Chris
This video makes me so happy
I know this comment was before everything happened but for me watching this is Bittersweet now
Watching this makes me smile & sad at the same time. Is that possible? It's the bond, the friendship, the talent. Chris always paid respect to all he performed with. Such a loss ❤🦘🐨
Just a Beautiful singer, and Handsome as hell..RIP sweet Chris..
If this doesn’t make you smile, nothing will. Beautifully done by two amazing frontmen!
I was so pumped that I was there for this...now I'm just so grateful to have been there. RIP Chris Cornell.
“This right here is the best chris cornell type singer you’ll ever hear”
Thank you very much!!
you mean they would had made great music
Because I heard Chris was very difficult to work with.
Because they made alot more money separately. Think about it this way. We wouldnt have soundgarden or pearl jam
Erick Stamaris He couldn’t have been that hard, Chris did many live performances with other artists over the years, his songs and theirs.
What a moment in time. What feeling encapsulates this song being sung by these two legends in this way on this stage.
Still gives me chills after all these years. RIP Chris.
I was there for this concert. This was such a great concert. The fact that this was the last time Eddie and Chris would ever perform this song together makes me even more grateful I went to that year's Bridge Benefit Concert.
It's so sad, we have lost a huge number of the greatest artists on earth. I miss you guys so much!!!
God love ya guys
Yes it is really sad
Hard to hold back tears, both sad and happy. Their beautiful, especially together☺
Gone but not forgotten. Rest easy Mr Cornell! One hell of a concert they must be having in heaven. Taken way too soon as most of the good ones are.
Seeing Vedder sing that live and still sound that good is incredible.
Chris' harmonies starting at 2:27 are incredible. What a talent. RIP
Every time these legends performed this song together, you can just see the immense amount of respect and love they have for each other. It kills me that there's so few of these guys left...
I was there that night at Shoreline ampa theater with my buddy Anerban. Won't ever forget it
Chris was such a talent and seemed like a great guy. Such a loss, so sad.
I am absolutely speechless❤what a performance of perfection. Each separately are phenomenal, but together JUST. WOW.
I cried manly tears watching this. The look they give eachother at the end always gets me choked up.
Temple of the dog was pure masterpiece, and I love the performance. Thank you
Two brothers forever joined by the music they made. God bless!
Man to never hear his or many other voices again... Grew up on these voices... Thank god for memories and UA-cam. 🖤
And if you have no one you will find someone trust me.😊
RIP to my favorite singer of all time. 🙏
i love when they shake hands .....
I'm jealous. They seemed like such close friends and brothers. You RARELY run across those relationships in life. GREAT VIDEO!👍
NEVER COULD I HAVE IMAGINED CHRIS WOULD LEAVE THE WAY HE DID, BUT THERE IS A SAYING;
"THE BRIGHTEST STARS BURN HALF AS LONG", & I HAVE TO
THINK OF HIM THAT WAY.
THANK GOD EDDIE HAD BEEN A TRUE PILLAR THROUGH ALL OF THE LOSE OF INCREDIBLY CLOSE FRIENDS TO SUCH SENSELESS ENDS.
WE ALL NEED TO TRY AND REACH OUT, NO
MATTER HOW PROUD OR ASHAMED OF HOW DEEPLY SAD YOU FEEL.
TOMORROW IS NOT PROMISED TO ANYONE, & WE HAVE TO LIVE EACH DAY AS IF IT'S OUR LAST BECAUSE ONE DAY WE WILL BE RIGHT!
HANG ON, TELL SOMEONE, AND LIVE YOUR TRUTH.
YOUR A PRICELESS AND BEAUTIFUL.
I HAVE BEEN THERE,
SO FAR DOWN, & I STILL FIGHT MYSELF.
PLEASE FIGHT WITH ME!!
Hits me right in the feels.. I miss you Chris Cornell.. ur music helped raise me. R.I.P. my brother. U inspired a generation.. the best generation to date i believe
Truth
I will second that....
Amen
It’s beautiful to see so much respect and love for one another.
Requiescat in pace, Chris.
ive tried to watch this like a dozen times now. i just cant man. as soon as ed introduces him i get choked up. rest well chris
Two of the best rock vocalists EVER! Man, Chris Cornell… what a huge & devastating loss.
Chris is like hey where did you get that drummer, he's pretty good
I hope you are joking
@@bogsmancenido8206 they probably are joking... there's no reason for them to say that, other than knowing who Matt Cameron is.
RIP
Love it, love it, love it, so talented, music is sublime. RIP Chris Cornell
46 dislikes was actually Vince Neil.
What? Why Vince tho?
@@hesh.hesh.2051 cause Vince sings like a paraplegic. Can't hold a note. Can't carry a tune.
Deathbat WWE Vince Neil hates the grunge era of music
@@edgeworth7750 well it was depressing, boring & they were some ugly mofo's!
Best Ever Epic Millennial And yet all of those Grunge bands will forever be more musically talented than Mötley.
I like how eddie vedder puts in the same effort n enthusiasm of every performance ive ever seen or heard of him over all these years. Such a rare thing nowadays. No videos of him being drunk n getting in fights w the crowd n doing things half-assed.
He doesn't do drugs, saw an interview he said he never did, wasnt his thing
My favorite part of this video, besides seeing the camaraderie between Chris and Ed, is Matt's smile right at the end of the song. You can tell how excited he is to be there playing with his friends.
The love between these 2 Men is something to behold...RIP Chris, you are so missed
50 years old. Gen X’er loving this. RIP Chris. You shaped my youth. 😢
An epic performance... My heroes of Grunge 🤟🤟🤟
So thankful we have this masterpiece
WOW, amazing performance! Two incredibly powerful voices. So sad this was the last time performing this song together, but ty, President Pizza (lol, great name), for capturing this moment and sharing with us! 🙏🏼
Wow to see these two guys together or just literally I get a lump in my throat, eyes misty
Chris' part is so much more demanding than Eddie's. I'm surprised he could still pull it off.
I going hungry ...
i love when they shake hands and then look away- brothers forever
These men fought with me daily as I sang in my head to their music, they got me through my battle with their lyrics...Fought lung, adrenal & lymph node cancer !! Would not be here now if not for them!! Esp. Eddie words!!!
Es hermoso ver como se miran. Admirable amistad. se amaban profundamente. Imagino el vacío enorme que debe haber dejado en Eddie, la muerte de Chris. Jamás habrá otro como el. Ojalá esté en un lugar donde sea feliz...
Si, hermoso presenciar tanto respeto y amor mutuo.
Requiescat in pace, Chris.
I've been watching this since it was first posted, I can't get enough. Once and a while I need a reminder of how powerful and pure their voices were together. Chris, there will never be another like you. Chester, they broke the mold. Eddie, take care of those golden pipes, you're beautiful tone is greatly needed today.
These two are so good together. Never again so sad
Love this song, So Sorry they'll never get a chance to do it together again. Like so many before him, Chris went too soon ❤❤❤
Miss you Chris there will never be another you🌹R.I.P. Beautiful Keeper 🙏🏽🕊 one of my favorites 🌹
It is sad.
