I live in Prescott AZ, born and raised and Chester’s parents live up here too. I used to work at our local Best Buy and his parents would come in and buy all his CD’s (Leaving a few copies for others of course) to support his son. They gave out his albums to people for free. They made it clear they buy his albums in secret because Chester only wanted to give back to his parents, but they wanted to support him no matter what. 😢

No shame in your tears, I feel the same way! After he died, each song of his I listened to, was a warning. The lyrics were so deep. The legend was definitely in the deep!
My unpopular opinion: this performance is why I don't mind and even embrace the One More Light Album with joy. I love Chester's voice no matter what he sings, energetic or slow songs, I just love his voice when he sings. Deep down I have always wanted to hear him sing something more slow and soft, I just believe that it's still beautiful. One More Light is not Nu Metal, it's not Rock, it's not Rap, not Grunge, but it's still beautiful to me.
im not afraid to admit One more light is as good as other albums. I mean these lyrics are one of the best and eventhough it is not rock or nu metal, the music is good, voices are incredible. I love that album same as the other ones. The fans just need to accept the band evolved and that´s what happen when you´re 20 years on the music scene.
There's a million covers of this song. Most are way overproduced, while others are mediocre. This cover was so simple yet so beautiful and full of power and only has been decided to be done backstage minutes before LP hit the stage. If you'd watch the whole thing, Mike and Chester started this song off because Chester didn't know which key to sing in, but after another try, this was the result. Miss Chester so much already! What a voice!
There aren't very many artists that you can almost feel their voice moving through your body but Chester is one of them. It's hard to explain but if you can feel it you know what I'm talking about. Your blood flows a different way, your mind opens up and your body vibrates with every note. Their voice intangles your mind, body and soul in a way that you feel directly connected with the person you're listening to. It's a phenomenon that only a handful of artists throughout history could achieve and chester is one of them. He brought so many of us into the light by pushing himself further into darkness. Truly one of the greatest.

It's so sad, he seemed to have it all. Knowing his struggle, nothing could surpass his deep seeded pain. He was telling us plainly but nothing prevented him from rolling head first into the deep Deep. So grateful for his contribution and impact but mourn him like a phantom limb. He had so much more to "bleed out". So many could haves. He had my heart inside of his hand and then it broke. He still leaves me breathless, feeling incomplete. I know as much as I wish, there won't be a different ending. He was just warming up 😢🎶😇 So glad to see Mike and the other guys continue but there will forever be a gap. A sad remembrance of what was.

His voice is other worldly. I can't help but come back to listen to this song every now and again. I miss his voice so very much, especially today. I know LP just took their first big step in moving forward and I'm really happy for them but I just can't help but find it bittersweet. I'll miss hearing Chester's voice when they play their songs. It hurts knowing I'll never hear him sing live, but I'm happy LP found someone they can create new music with again. I look forward to listening to what they can create together.
I am right there with you friend. I think they will do well with her, as long as she tries to be herself, and not be Chester. They sound excellent on the new single.
Cant stop watching this. Only one word to describe this, legendary. Still in shock and disbelief. We all have our demons. Some far more severe than we can ever imagine. May he surely rest in peace now.
I feel the exact same way. Never met Chester, never seen him live, but have listened to him since I was 10 and I'm going to be 29 in a week and a half or so. His emotion in his songs have saved my life countless times
I wouldn’t really say he’s unique bc he ‘feels deeply’. There are MANY other artists who perform in the same fashion - a LOT even MORE than Chester imho!
Actually I think he is an idiot.. He has family... 6 children.. and he hung himself?! For what?! Seriously? His first world problems? Oooooh no I am a millionaire and don't know where to spend my money?! Why didn't he get help? Now people feel so sorry for HIM?! What about his wife and children? He had the money to get all the help he needed, but he was to weak and too selfish... he was very talented... true. A talented selfish idiot..
DrMedSteht all the money and therapy in the world cannot solve some people's problems. Depression is real. Add addiction and it's a toxic mix. Nobody knows what he was going through but him. His wife and children are very much victims. Just because you've got the mental stability to live day to day, doesn't mean everyone else does.
Never felt what a depression feels like? This is very ambivalent. There is no right or wrong. Some souls are injured in a way they can never heal. It depends on what happened in his past and childhood. You can't heal a broken soul like a broken leg. And nobody knows what he felt and how he looked inside. Of cours it's a massive lost for his family, but I'm sure they know, what emotional pain he suffered every day. Life isn't that simple. Be a little bit more gentle with somebody, who have a mental illness.
She’s stepping into the hardest shoes in decades of music to fill. Give her time to grow in confidence and shine. Chester improved as he went. LP wasn’t his first band.
I told myself I wouldn't cry before I watched this video but I couldn't fight back the tears. He has a voice of an angel, I still can't believe he's gone.
Will never forget Hybrid theory but which ever album they bring out theres always one or two songs that still give me the chills, its hard for a band to be diverse without selling out and losing fans, but i think linkin park has done a damn good job.
Here is a reason why nobody attempts to cover Chesters songs in live auditions such as the voice or xfactor, those that tried, totaly failed... Its just not possible to do what that guy did with his incredible voice.
THANK YOU!!!! Mike has said it before, Chester is the best at what he does in his class. He's heard famous singers attempt Chester's vocals and they never quite hit it. The other way around is different, Chester can hit their notes and sound better with more emotion towards a song he never wrote
Chester was an absolute legend. Even my hip hop friends knew him and were shocked when he died. Actually, my friend, who is a hip hop fan, sent me the link to an article saying that Chester had died and that's how I found out. It was on the day itself and he even knew it before I did.
To see him live in concert was a privilege, that man blew me away every time with his voice, his talent and his passion.. RIP Chester, you are missed 💔
It's crazy to perform a song of one of the best voice of generation, just after an hour of singing and screaming, and it's sounds as good as original song. Chester and Linkin Park where unbelievable.
Whats spellbounding is that Adele sang this pitch perfect with exact emotions (as it was her story and she felt it). Chester in some parts made better emotional connection to the lyrics with his singing - which is so unreal! My people, this is what a gifted artist looks like. True true talent.
I was getting ready point out some other band or artist that does this but... you know what? Gunjan is right. I don't think we'll ever get a Nu-Metal plus all of those genre coming ever again. In the mainstream, Twenty one pilots is that too but instead of Nu-Metal or any metal at all, it's "post-emo or emo influenced" plus all those others, but perhaps more pop as the main genre with their 2015 album. Perhaps there are obscure bands out there are trying it but we may never have a phenomenon like Linkin Park in this specific fusion ever again. If anyone got any more huge range of fusion, even indie or stuff I'm sure there's a lot under the surface there, please share it. I love me indie garage/psych/blues rock or synthpop/electronica, but I'll always come back to LP for that specific diverse sound. I was never a huge fan of Nu-Metal, I enjoyed some of the top tracks of others, but LP hit that sweet spot in combing genres. And later in other albums, they pushed their diverse sound even more which I loved the most with this band.
+The Crimson Fucker I know right! And Otherwise's cover wasn't too bad. But you know, CHESTER IS THE BEST! Also, great job on the piano Mike! Gotta give Mike some credit.
I would love to hear him and Adele perform this together! I know it'll never happen but it sounds like his & Adele's voices blend as well as Pink and Kelly Clarkson's do😮
Going on 7 years and I still have a hard time believing he’s gone. I come back to this video often. Each time it fills me with a sense of longing to have back what I simply can’t have, so I come away feeling like I’ve tossed a penny in a wishing well.
Who ever said that don’t know anything about music! Most diverse singer in rock/nu metal true legend and deeply missed, he could cover anything and make it his own!
I almost stopped listening to LP when it happened, I just couldn’t, the pain was too intense. Now, after all these years, when I feel lost and need to find myself again, Chester’s voice never fails to lead me back to what is truly important, to clean my lenses. Rest in peace beautiful soul, nothing will ever heal the wound💔
He did a great cover of a great song by a great artist…. In her hometown. Did it justice too. He was already a great vocalist but this just added to his range. We didn’t deserve Chester but we were so damn lucky to have him. Love and miss you Chester
Omg his voice at 3:12 gives me chills. Will always be remembered and loved by millions. His lyrics and voice got me through the roughest times of my life, including my horrendously terrible addiction. Thank you Chester 🙌🏻 RIP brother
Right before doing this song in the full video he said that he hoped that they'd do it justice. Dude, what a humble man and on top of that he did better enjoying himself and messing around than with all due respect to her, a team of people making her song as good as it can be.
Man what a truly talented person. I met him before and he was super cool. Grew up listening to Linkin Park just like millions and millions over the world. Truly sad. RIP Chester.

I wouldn’t really say he’s unique bc he ‘feels deeply’. There are MANY other artists who perform in the same fashion - a LOT even MORE than Chester imho!
@@elainemeyer5062 Okay if you say so
Jesus. He's so fricking talented!

Chester vocal's range in simply not human. Its godly. Chester is a God, hands down!
Rest in peace you beautiful talented angel! Chester Bennington ❤️😪
Jimmy Ha 😫😫😫😫😫😫
😭😭😪😔😔
The amount of emotions Chester puts into his songs… something Emily still needs to learn
Hi Vettel
3:30
That register transition was heavenly.
Will never forget Hybrid theory but which ever album they bring out theres always one or two songs that still give me the chills, its hard for a band to be diverse without selling out and losing fans, but i think linkin park has done a damn good job.
I bought a belt meant for CZK seventy.
Never heard this. This man could make any song his own!
This hits hard.
*when you write a legendary song and then another legend comes along and owns your song for four and a half minutes*
Couldnt like cuz its 69
Nice
@OffTarget I agree 100% Chester made this song his own. He sang it so well it could have been his.
@OffTarget so do you think that Franz Beckenbauer isnt a Legend?🤔
@OffTarget Some football dude from Germany which is as boring as football itself
@@smashgottkokod3005 Jo mai des is a absolute Legende
God why am I seeing this for the first time on a whim? Rip Chester, you deserved so much more, you have me crying at 5pm on a Thursday.
@@ElegantJames He was* 😭😭😭
Chester was an absolute legend. Even my hip hop friends knew him and were shocked when he died. Actually, my friend, who is a hip hop fan, sent me the link to an article saying that Chester had died and that's how I found out. It was on the day itself and he even knew it before I did.
he was just incredible, rest in peace chester
Chester's voice is angelic! R.I.P. Legend! ❤️
2023 and this master piece hits even harder than it did 12 years ago 😢
Yes
We are here now
This cover never won't die.
Easily one of the most beautiful covers I've ever heard.
Truth.
I think is the Best Cover Of Rolling In The Deep :)
me too!
No it IS the best cover
+NewoGames
Maybe!
Well even Adele says it is
+St. Ranger link please
I still send this to people. Everyone should hear this at least once. He was so amazing
01:16 you can really hear the emotions flow out of him...rip ...chester....such a legend
He was
To see him live in concert was a privilege, that man blew me away every time with his voice, his talent and his passion..
RIP Chester, you are missed 💔
He had such a beautiful voice and presence.
still crying 2024
With Chester we could have had it all. Now we have to live with the outcomes of our choices and how it impacts everyone around us.
Would you like a tissue?
I know, you meant kathyoliver, but yes, please 😢🤧
- Give this kid it's pacifier 😂
I hear ya.
It's crazy to perform a song of one of the best voice of generation, just after an hour of singing and screaming, and it's sounds as good as original song. Chester and Linkin Park where unbelievable.
True!❤
*randomly appear in recommendation 12 years latter*
So fuccin good ❤

Same ! So rando
Same
lol same 🤷🏻♀️ love me some Linkin Park though 🫶🏻 rip Chester 🙏🏻
December 2024 and this will forever be epic. RIP Chester. You are missed.
Whats spellbounding is that Adele sang this pitch perfect with exact emotions (as it was her story and she felt it). Chester in some parts made better emotional connection to the lyrics with his singing - which is so unreal! My people, this is what a gifted artist looks like. True true talent.
Chester had suffered through a lot and he channeled that into every song he sang.
there's a lot more to singing than just hitting notes in time :)
Sings this better than Adele 🙌🙌🙌🙌
goosebumps
@@karenlibretto4195 not better, you just preffered it. Better overall singer, yes, but you can't sing a song better than the original :P
CHESTER is not just a name for me anymore.... its a GENRE, a mix of Nu Metal,Electronic,Rock,Hiphop and Pop
And these genres will never meet ever again
Agreed
Linkin Park*
Legendary!?!!!
2:50 that note he carries on with after the chorus is done. absolute legend. Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up
Sorry
I don't know which version this from Chester is better, this or the meet&greet with the fans. There's no reason to choose, they're both wonderful.
A whole Linkin Park Album with their cover-versions of current pop-songs would be awesome!
Chester could make the worst song ever sound great.
+The Crimson Fucker I know right! And Otherwise's cover wasn't too bad. But you know, CHESTER IS THE BEST! Also, great job on the piano Mike! Gotta give Mike some credit.
+Chaos Arises AJ course I do. Mike built linkin park.
+Joshua Amian honestly look up our last night. you wont regret it

When Chester sings
"You're gonna wish you never had met me,
Tears are gonna fall Rolling In The Deep"
it hits me even harder. RIP CHESTER. 💔
I'm so very sad man
💔💔
To go from their usual style to this wow is that talent or what ?
The one and only lp singer ❤
You can hear all the hurt in his voice in this song... tragically beautiful...
Who was saying Chester's voice is nothing without the guitars and drums? Where are you now?
Also 2021 still a legend Chester. Still a legend
Who ever said that don’t know anything about music! Most diverse singer in rock/nu metal true legend and deeply missed, he could cover anything and make it his own!
2022 and he still a legend in music.
Who said that? :'D

His voice is just incredible..
he sang beyond perfection
Such a beautiful voice.. I'm just sitting here, crying. We will miss you Chester
Am I the only one who gets chills down their spine listening to this?
Me too. Miss him my childhood hero 😔
Every time man. Been listening to this for probably a decade now and it’s a crime it never got to be released properly.
No my friend you are not he sing to all our hearts
Everytime
Ur not alone
I almost stopped listening to LP when it happened, I just couldn’t, the pain was too intense. Now, after all these years, when I feel lost and need to find myself again, Chester’s voice never fails to lead me back to what is truly important, to clean my lenses. Rest in peace beautiful soul, nothing will ever heal the wound💔
He did a great cover of a great song by a great artist…. In her hometown. Did it justice too. He was already a great vocalist but this just added to his range. We didn’t deserve Chester but we were so damn lucky to have him. Love and miss you Chester
It's been 4 years since I saw this video again, what a wonderful cover.
He was a vocal powerhouse.
Omg his voice at 3:12 gives me chills. Will always be remembered and loved by millions. His lyrics and voice got me through the roughest times of my life, including my horrendously terrible addiction. Thank you Chester 🙌🏻 RIP brother
the crowd made it look like a choir amazing
OMG! Loved the Piano beat. I'm just... in shock. Amazing cover.
Best cover ever...they blow up this song to another universe...SUPERB!
I think so too :) men's version
Right before doing this song in the full video he said that he hoped that they'd do it justice. Dude, what a humble man and on top of that he did better enjoying himself and messing around than with all due respect to her, a team of people making her song as good as it can be.
the more I'm getting older, the more i understand you, chester,
rest in peace, brother and thank you for everything
Man what a truly talented person. I met him before and he was super cool. Grew up listening to Linkin Park just like millions and millions over the world. Truly sad. RIP Chester.
