04:36 Dry Fasting Improves the Production of BDNF
    05:59 Why Dry Fasting Works?
07:08 What Mental Conditions Would Your Use Dry Fasting For?
    NOTES:
Dry Fasting benefits For Brain Health:
Increased neuron protection against dysfunction and degeneration
    Increased creation of new neurons
    Increased brain plasticity
    Decreased neuronal excitotoxicity
    1. HOW DOES IT DO THIS?
    -Improves production of BDNF
    -maintaining memory and learning capacity
-regulating neurogenesis and neuronal survival in the adult brain controls metabolic regulation.
-proteins responsible for the positive adaptations of the brain in situations when there’s little food available
    2. WHY IS DRY FASTING SUPERIOR TO WATER FASTING FOR THE BRAIN?
More stress on the brain and body requires more mental clarity
    3. WHAT MENTAL CONDITIONS WOULD YOU USE DRY FASTING FOR?
    Mood disorders-depression
    Memory issues
When you do dry fast during Ramadan that is go without water 12 -24 hours for 30 days, your brain health improves.
Increase in neuron production against degeneration - great for people with dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory loss who are trying to prevent or in the beginning stage of it.
Increase brain plastic - this has to do with how capable your neurons are in transmitting the information.
Decrease neuronal excitement - you make neurons and repair the old ones, but they are not amped up at stress situations. Neuronal excitement happens when the amygdala is firing up when you are stressed or at an anxious state. Dry fasting will calm those neurons down.

That's awesome! Please take care with using the term "prove" in situations like this, though. It very likely is indeed the direct cause of your pain reduction, but it isn't quite proof -- the whole "correlation isn't causation" thing. In this era of lack of critical thinking and the spread of misinformation, we should be careful to help people who are influenced by stories of "Cardi B's cousin's friend's boyfriend's balls" understand what the scientific method is and how it works ... and doesn't. ; )

Completely anecdotal, but yes dry fasting made water fasting easier for me. I used to have a hard time water fasting for more than 72 hours, and those last few hours of the 72hr fast were always pure hell. But that changed after i started to dry fast. Now I can water fast with relative comfort for up to 5 days. It was such a game changer.

Amen! I never just fast - I always “Fast & PRAY” like our beautiful Lord & Savior said. Been doing it most of my life & I have always been slim & toned & healthy overall.
The Holy Spirit only recently told me about dry fasting, I had never heard of it before, so I had to look it up and learn about it! I do it every Thursday now anywhere from 12-36 hours. Wasn’t at all as hard as I thought it would be.
The two times in my past when my doctor found precancer cells (the most severe stage of precancerous), I had miracle healings. The 1st time she couldn’t believe that she saw the cells with her own eyes & then 2 weeks later, 100% gone. She called other doctors into the room and everything. I must say, it wasn’t fasting that healed me because I wasn’t fasting at those times, it was God Himself, Jesus Holy Christ! Fasting is powerful, but NOTHING is more powerful than my God!
I fast to get closer to Him, my Healer, my Everything. And now I realize the health benefits as well. Go figure, God is a genius & only tells us what’s BEST!!
Hallelujah! All glory to Jesus Christ, THE BEST!! God bless y’all 🦋

I noticed something about Aunty Mindy's presentations.....which is so cool.
Whenever she makes a statement about some benefit ....she adds something like....
It is a flippen miracle... or....It is our way out of disease.....Also she says ...That's great !....or ....it is awesome....or.....It is fantastic....etc.
All these adjectives make us happier. Always confirming something ...So reassuring......sigh.

I suffer from brain inflammation from the C vaccine & long Covid. I’ve done a ten day water fast which was able to reduce the inflammation by 50% based on a subjective scale. Water fasting is the only thing that works when nothing else did. I tried everything. But water fasting is so difficult for me because I feel so sick, nauseous and dizzy by day 3. I’m hoping dry fasting will help me!! I’m approaching my 18th hour. So far it’s been easy. Hoping this will help with memory, depression and anxiety! Thank you for spreading this teaching. It’s very much needed

Hi Dr Mindy, as Baháʼís we dry fast for 19 days every year in March, with the Baháʼí new year taking place straight after the fast, on 20th March (the first day of Spring here in the UK). It's a great way to see out the old year, and begin the new. Our fast involves abstaining from food and drink from sunrise to sunset. This year is my 38th fast. When I first became a Baháʼí and started fasting (am from a Christian background), many people (including non-Baháʼí medical professionals) advised me not to do so, saying it was dangerous and injurious to health. However, given that this is part of my faith, I persisted and ignored the well-meaning 'advice'. It's interesting that science has caught up, with dry fasting now seen in a much more positive light. In the Baháʼí Faith we believe that science and religion should go hand in hand and work together, that they are like two wings of a bird - obviously, a bird needs 2 wings to fly:) Thank you for your informative videos sharing some of the science behind dry fasting.

Dr. Mindy this is exactly what the doctor ordered, no pun intended. LOL. I have been stuck with lack of weight loss after I lost 70lbs by fasting and Keto then gained 30 during 2020 pandemic. Now I am back and had been trying for a while (Keto and fasting) without much change if anything I gained a few more pounds. I've watched probably every video you've made, thank you for making them :). I decided to ease into the water fast. I OMAD on day one and did the opposite schedule you suggested only because it works for me. I stopped all water and food at 6pm until 6:30am. I feel amazing. On day 2, I did a 44 hour fast and incorporated within the 44 fasting hours a 12.5 hour water fast from 6pm-6:30am. I woke up 8 pounds lighter. I'm so excited. I will continue to unstick my weight by finishing up this weeks 5 day water fast with you and the gang. I am planning to do one more 36-44 hour fast from Thursday at 6:00pm- Saturday afternoon. I feel amazing. I have clarity. My stress levels are lower and I'm hoping to sleep better tonight than last night. That's the only downside to long fasts it's that it interferes with sleep. Thank you again Dr. Mindy. You are our miracle!!! :)

84 hr fast. Only sipped water when my mouth was dry.
I am 61 in 3 wks. My #1 goal was to drop weight by burning off the excess stored Diavetic 2 Insulin and to change my set point wt. It worked. The big shock & thrill is my brain clarity. I was OK before but... stunned. The #1 thing it appears to have fixed that my Dr hasn't figured out the why all year after 4 series of blood test & a liver scan is I was weirdly profoundly fatigued and sleeping solid with deep sleep for 10 - 14 hours. I'd wake up, and a few hours later would fall asleep for excessive hours. O the last morning, I broke my fast with a steak breakfast. I woke up early am.
3 days later, that excessive deep sleep is gone. I am waking up in the am without an alarm, completely ready to get out of bed, and sleeping common hours. Shocked and thrilled. The only thing I did was this long fast + continued my general meds + OTC vitamins. I did my diabetic blood test more often than normal all of the fast.

You will lose weight with fasting, don't give up dede... every long journey starts with a small step...my 1st step was to find a tiny tiny spoon for my sugar bowl...worked well...cut sugar down slowly but always down...energy stays up and you'll feel fine and your weight will go down...So go get your tiny tiny spoon....best of luck in finding one...

I'm excited to dry fast Ramadan style, but instead of breaking my fast with pies samosas etc, I'm going to have a chicken veg soup, some good fats like avocado, cheese olive oil since fats are satiating and I won't necessarily need to binge on sweet things.

Experienced faster of 18 plus years, found out about dry fasting almost 2 years ago, so much easier than water fasting. personally have gone 2 days dry fasting, family members have gone 3 plus days dry fasting. We all agree it's easier than water fasting. Personal longest water fast is 17 days and family members have done 30 days water fast. Try dry fasting, you will like it.
