By the way, you just witnessed the best rock and roll drummer in history. When he died, the band broke up, that's how indispensable he was. Literally no one has been able to play the same way that John Bonham did, not even his son. I think it was at one of the US festivals or it could have been a rainbow festival can't remember, but what was left of Zeppelin did part of the show. It took two drummers to do John Bonham's part. When he died, he took the soul of that band with him. Yes, all of them were unbelievable in their own right. Jimmy Page is a guitar God. and of course Robert plant has amazing vocals. But when John Bonham died so did the band. They decided they couldn't go on without him.
I think John Paul Jones was pretty indispensable too. It was really the interaction between him and John Bonham that made Led Zepplin what it is. And John Paul Jones wrote many of the riffs in Led Zepplin. Especially in this era of the band. On Zepplin I and II John Paul Jones was playing a lot of power chords and riffing all over the place. Part of the reason John Bonham's playing was so unique is because a lot of the time he is following John Paul Jones as opposed to John Paul Jones following him like most bands. It gives it a different feel from most other bands. Any one of these musicians passing away or leaving the band would have had the same effect.
Now that gentlemen, that is what real music sounds like. This band and others in this era are true musicians. I am glad you enjoyed the music I grew up listening too.
Exactly right - no auto tune, no microphone manipulations, just pure talented musicianship. Before corporate America took over all popular forms of music in the US.
John "Bonzo" Bonham was arguably the best drummer of that era. Jimmy Page was in a league all his own and Robert Plant vocals just solidified the greatness of Led Zeppelin along with John Paul Jone on bass.

Led Zeppelin's first album was in 1969, 53 years ago and still no one has come close. Most artists have good songs and not so good songs, even bad songs - every song on every Led Zeppelin album was good to phenomenal, they simply didn't have any bad songs. Even the Beatles can't make that claim, no one can, except Led Zeppelin, they were THAT good!
This 4 dudes must live under a rock or they are Aliens ! What the heck ! Guys this here in one of the most iconic guitar riffs of all time ! How did you never heard this song before ! Led Zeppelin and ACDC are the top of the top when it comes to Rockbands and nobody else is even close to those 2 legendary bands !
This is a very good example of how music genres sort of circle around groups of people who share it with others. So, many different groups of people lovin' THEIR music, spread it around, sometimes the whole world gets that groove/appreciation. That's why there are people -- especially young people -- who have never heard of THIS great music. It was a while before I even heard reggae music...and some people only know of old-fashioned country music, don't know what's happened while becoming modern, especially since women started writing and singing songs about THEIR lives that, of course, men never knew about. Anyway, enough examples. But it is a really good question -- How di you never hear of never heard this song before... !
I just love seeing comments like this - I'm 74 and used to hang out with Angus and the boys before ACCA DACCA became the phenomenon they are - great bunch of blokes - I sit here reading how people I knew are idols to millions world wide - I'll never understand that but I'm so proud of my old mates. 👍
I actually got sick of hearing Stairway To Heaven after the 1,000,000th time hearing it on the radio. *When The Levee Breaks* is so much better, I love every second of it, no matter how many times I hear it...
Led Zeppelin belongs to an era where British rock bands were influenced by blues musicians and put their own twist, rock twist, on blues music. Later they would invite the blues musicians who influenced them to tour the UK.
I was born in 1963 and Led Zeppelin was IT in the 70's! I also went to a Kiss concert in 1979 in New Haven, CT. My Uncle took me because he had an extra ticket. Not my favorite band but they really put on a great concert! I went to a lot of concerts back then. Jethro Tull, Crosby Stills and Nash, Journey.....I wish I went to a Led Zeppelin concert. I even went to a U2 concert in 1981 at Toad's Place before they were a thing here in the United States. Its so great to watch you guys discovering some great music from back then! It just makes me smile and laugh out loud at times at your surprise. Love it!
I was ridiculously blessed to have “attended” a Zep concert in 1973. I was 2. I will FOREVER be grateful to my mom because although I do not remember, she instilled my LOVE of music.
There was nothing like Led Zeppelin performing live in a stadium, the crowd of fans, the lights and the soft scent of pot in the air before the show began. We were all in for a musical adventure and were not disappointed. It was exciting and you knew that you had witnessed what would soon be a legendary band. Nothing before or since like concerts such as Led Zeppelin's.
Led Zep magic. That's how it's done, boys. The lead singer is a hot Adonis and is at the peak of his powers right there. All British dudes, too. They're mesmerizing. Whole lotta love. Feeling it.
I grew up knowing Robert Plant was my dad... if mom could of had it her way😁 my dad always said... honey if Robert Plant ever wants you, then by all means, Go For It! Lol. Best band of all time💜 when jam sessions meant something.... y'all have to listen to 'Black Dog' & 'Kashmir' mind blowing creation of raw talent!🥰
When this song came on my car radio ,I would have to pull over and get out and dance. Nothing compared to them ever in my 18 years of life. Love watching you guy's respond to zeppelin too
Believe it or not, Led Zeppelin took a sample of another song 'You need love' (written by Willie Dixon) a 1962 blues song performed by Muddy Waters... they had to give credit to Dixon years later. "Whole lotta love" was a huge Zeppelin single in 1969 from their 2nd album 'Led Zeppelin II'... Other Zeppelin songs to check out - 'Immigrant song'... 'Black dog'... 'Rock and roll'... 'The Rover'... 'Kashmir'... 'Good times, bad times'... 'No quarter'... 'Heartbreaker/ Living loving maid'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy wrote "When the Levee Breaks" , Robert Johnson wrote "Traveling Riverside Blues" and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" was a Joan Baez folksong , and though they were criticized for "stealing" other peoples songs, Led Zeppelin was completely on another level. What they did with those songs is nothing short of EPIC ! Even the original authors would agree ! When I was a teenager in the 70's, an old biker turned me on to the Blues. Muddy Waters , B.B. King, Robert Johnson etc.. He explained to me how all the bands from the 60's were Blues fans ( Clapton , The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, The Yardbirds , The Kinks, and Led Zeppelin ). But when I heard Led Zeppelin , I was amazed ! I realized these guys were punching way over their weight ! They took Blues and Folk music to the next level and then some. Beginning with the first beats of the first song on their first album ( when Page , and Jones were 25 and 24 and Plant and Bonham were 20 ! ) , you can hear the very roots of the Blues being exploded into Heavy Metal , and they went every where in between and beyond. Truly Masters of their Craft !
@@beadyeyedmonster I'm not doubting what Zeppelin did... But they should have given credit to other artists for sampling their work. To their credit, they did give Willie Dixon quite a few props... but to credit Jimmy Page solely for the cover of Jake Holmes' 'Dazed & confused' was irresponsible. Black Sabbath & Deep Purple never had to go thru those kinds of plagiarism litigation (but all other kinds of lawsuits).
Some of the footage is from their Australian tour early 70s, I'm 82 this and saw them play Perth, my ears are still tingling, I still manage to rock a bit, mainly in my rocking chair. Love and peace from Perth Australia 😎🖐🎵🎶🦘
It’s such a joy to see you guys to react to this! This was my parent’s music but I still think it’s so great. You guys might also like their song “Black Dog”, they have so many cool songs actually. If you ever want to hear something by the Beatles, I would recommend a couple songs: Come Together and Don’t Let Me Down. Cheers guys!
Awww, you guys just made my morning!🤣 this was the very beginning of what they call heavy metal, acid rock, heavy rock. Everything else came after. I'm 65, and I remember having to ask my mom as a kid, "mom, what is a back door, man?". She told me too. She said " Well, my dear, sometimes a married woman has another man other than her husband. He's called a backdoor man." She always told it true, just enough to shut me up.
Saw Robert Plant in Concert (Now and Zen)...he gave one heck of a concert!!! I'm in my 70's now and so glad you guys are listening to the music we had years ago!
First time I heard this song in 73, I was blown away. Learned to play it on guitar 24 years later. I remember the looks from guys on a guitar store in Japan when I played the guitar solo break using a Gibson SG plugged into a Marshall.
Every Led Zeppelin song is Awesome!! Try - Kashmir - Immigrant Song - Black Dog - Rock n Roll - Over the Hills and Far Away - Dazed and Confused - Ramble on - Going to California - Dyer Maker - When the Levee Breaks - No Quarter - Fool in the Rain - All my Love - ......and many many more!!!
I was born in 63. I will be forever grateful for that..I feel sorry for the kids these days..but there's hope... they are catching on..by watching bands from the sixties and seventies.
my fave zeppelin song always seems to be the last one I heard. they didn't make a bad song or even a mediocre song, banger after banger after banger across all genres - rock, blues, folk, jazz, acoustic even reggae. try the Live version of "Since I've Been Loving You" from the '73 concert at Madison Square Garden if you want to get absolutely blown away. oh yeah, I believe somebody asked how old they were, this song came out in '69 off their second album. Plant (singer) and Bonham (drummer) were only like 19 years old while Page (guitar) and Jones (bass, keys) were in their early 20's
Dazed and Confused, Kashmir, Immigrant Song, Since I've been loving you, When the levee breaks or Going to California by Led Zeppelin are all good plus many more. A few groups you guys should check out are, Rush Tool Rage against the Machine The Doors Pearl Jam Just to name a few I don't believe you've checked out.
You need to watch the Kennedy Center Awards where they honor Led Zeppelin. Watch the whole thing where Jack Black introduces them. The whole thing is amazing!! There are many videos of the Awards in Washington DC. The president's are always there too
I'm 28 and I grew up with this too. Truly got into classic rock in middle school and I've been listening to it daily since. I feel that this era, 90's and 00's made the best music.
I am 67 and I still love. Led Zeppelin 70s music is so great !!!
"When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin for the win
Damn right!
I actually got sick of hearing Stairway To Heaven after the 1,000,000th time hearing it on the radio. *When The Levee Breaks* is so much better, I love every second of it, no matter how many times I hear it...
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I agree 👍
Now I have to listen to When the Levee Breaks again. I love that one so much!
I love watching you guys!!!😂. I’m 70 and I was a teenager during this music. It was awesome then and it’s awesome now. I love it that you love it!!!
Led Zeppelin belongs to an era where British rock bands were influenced by blues musicians and put their own twist, rock twist, on blues music. Later they would invite the blues musicians who influenced them to tour the UK.
I loved it when John Bonham started in with the drums and immediately, all your heads started bopping in time! 😀
Love it!
How beautiful young people discovering real music.
REAL music. Yes.
I was ridiculously blessed to have “attended” a Zep concert in 1973. I was 2. I will FOREVER be grateful to my mom because although I do not remember, she instilled my LOVE of music.
My favorite band of ALL time since the 70s alot people don't realize they are blues players at heart the songs
"When the Levee Breaks" is an all time banger
Oh yesss ..
Try this version...

It's my favorite Zeppelin song!
@@leemcclements8889 Me too!
This.
It does my 65 year old heart good to see you young guy's marvel at the all time gods of rock the way I have since day one. Still listen to them daily
Zeppelin is arguably one of the best rock and roll bands ever. Watching yall jam is so awesome.
You guys are fun, with such open minds. Too cool. This was our shit in high school. "60's and 70's rock." "Zeppelin."
brothers this is music...LED will be listen to eternity..every song is different..i get goose bumps even 40yrs later
You and what? About another 20 million of us? 😆
Love it!
You boys have just scratched the surface of Led Zeppelin.........keep going!
Yes, they sampled Willie Dixon and "borrowed" Steve Marriott's vocal styling from You Need Loving - Small Faces.
Led Zeppelin?? Always will inspire generations! Period.
Love it that these guys are digging it. I grew up with this! I'm in my 60's and still jam to Zeppelin in my car.
FANTASTIC you guys are experiencing REAL MUSIC 🎶🎸🎤🎵
Saw Robert Plant in Concert (Now and Zen)...he gave one heck of a concert!!! I'm in my 70's now and so glad you guys are listening to the music we had years ago!
Robert Plant and Jimmy Paige one of the best collaborations EVER!!! Love me some Led Zeppelin they have so many bangers
OMG I am so glad you heard this.. This is my favorite Led Zep song... Yassssss... Phenomenal live also
They were way ahead of there time. The greatest rock band of all time.. it's a joy to see yougins get turned on to some real music
Kashmir was a rocking Led Zeppelin song too especially the studio version instead of a live performance.
First time I heard this song in 73, I was blown away. Learned to play it on guitar 24 years later. I remember the looks from guys on a guitar store in Japan when I played the guitar solo break using a Gibson SG plugged into a Marshall.
Luv watching y'all get off on zepplin! You feelin lit! They all good, enjoy the ride!
I think back about how all this music permeated our lives from junior high, high school and college. It will never be recreated.
I was born in 63. I will be forever grateful for that..I feel sorry for the kids these days..but there's hope... they are catching on..by watching bands from the sixties and seventies.
The Greatest Rock Band to grace the earth IMO... song is a classic an straight banger!
my fave zeppelin song always seems to be the last one I heard. they didn't make a bad song or even a mediocre song, banger after banger after banger across all genres - rock, blues, folk, jazz, acoustic even reggae. try the Live version of "Since I've Been Loving You" from the '73 concert at Madison Square Garden if you want to get absolutely blown away.
oh yeah, I believe somebody asked how old they were, this song came out in '69 off their second album. Plant (singer) and Bonham (drummer) were only like 19 years old while Page (guitar) and Jones (bass, keys) were in their early 20's
You guys are great . Nothing better than seeing a bunch of brothers head booping to some of the greatest rock & roll. Keep it up.
Dazed and Confused, Kashmir, Immigrant Song, Since I've been loving you, When the levee breaks or Going to California by Led Zeppelin are all good plus many more.
A few groups you guys should check out are,
Rush
Tool
Rage against the Machine
The Doors
Pearl Jam
Just to name a few I don't believe you've checked out.
Neil Pert on drums
@@MissionMichelle911 YES!!!!
You need to watch the Kennedy Center Awards where they honor Led Zeppelin. Watch the whole thing where Jack Black introduces them. The whole thing is amazing!! There are many videos of the Awards in Washington DC. The president's are always there too
I loved watching your heads all bopping in time with the music.
Led Zeppelin is the best band ever! Or, as they say nowadays, they are the GOAT!
Well I'm giving up my age but this is the music I grew up with. 😆 Would love to see a react to Pink Floyd "Time"
yes anything from the 70's especially floyd elo boston van halen ted nugent silver james gang eagles i can go on and on and on
The solo on Time has got to be one of the best of all time.
I'm 28 and I grew up with this too. Truly got into classic rock in middle school and I've been listening to it daily since. I feel that this era, 90's and 00's made the best music. I grew up on bands like Blink and the such. I absolutely love both era's of rock. They should definitely react to Blink 182 and Fleetwod Mac.
@@DemonicTheAngel
Fun fact Zeppelin started off in 1968 way before the 90s and the 2000s.But you are correct it's the greatest music oldies but goodies. 😆
@@kto_66 im not uncultured i know when Zeppelin started. I also know and love many other bands from that time. Cream is one of my favorites. I was just saying that music from the 90's and 00's had bangers as well. Both generations can have amazing music. I'm an audiophile, so i can recognize amazing music from any era. I dont think its fair to compare the eras though tbh. I see why you thought i didnt know lol when i said this era i meant the era from the song in the video.
Love these guys, they open minded and not all cussing . And they funny too. Refreshing 😁
Led Zeppelin is my band. I still get chills listening to their music
I have 2 LZ cds in my car stereo permanently❤🎶🤘
Young people experiencing Zeppelin for the first time... MUSIC REBIRTH. Love it.
I think they need to react to Meat Loaf Paradise by the Dashboard Light live. They would not only be shocked by the visuals 😅 but they'd also be impressed by the vocals and instrumentals. 🤩
Led Zeppelin!! Nothing else like them. Glad you guys are discovering one of the greatest bands of all time!
I still listen to this everyday! There isn’t a single rock group since then that wasn’t influenced by Jimmys riffs, and Robs voice has been voted in best top ten of all time! Try Ramble On, Kashmir, there will never be another Led Zeppelin
Great reaction - Preeesh - that guitar is called a double neck. The top neck is 12 string (double of the usual 6 close together) and the bottom a traditional 6 string. - very heavy. U gotta b feeling it to rock it
Blows my mind . Never get tired of it I've been listening for 40 years easy 🤯
Best band in history as far as I’m concerned. When I’m in my car by myself, this gets blasted every time on the radio from my phone.
The greatest hard Rock & roll band ever! You really need to play more.
The best part of this video is how y’all put El DeBarge in a Time Machine and brought him back to experience the incomparable power of Led Zeppelin. “Rhythm Of The Night?” Indeed!
This has always been my favorite band. The fact that they were pure talent. No synthesizer or things they use now a days. Awsome. My favorite. Since I been loven you and baby I'm gonna leave you are more favorites. Love how Jimmy page can make his guitar sound like Robert plant. They were so in tune with each other. Other groups would be Stevie ray van, Kenny Wayne Sheppard (blue on black). Love the soulfullness. Im sure you heard Chris stapelton Tennessee whiskey. Good tunes is what makes it.
One of my all-time favorites by Led Zeppelin is "D'yer Maker" - I'd love to see your reactions to it!
Oh the memories. Brings back high school days when we enjoyed the best music and best bands, ever!!!
You have Witnessed GREATNESS young men....they were the top of the top. Got more girls than anyone you will ever know....what is something for you to marinate on is the played their own instruments. No such a thing as auto tune or computers. All those bands did it live .
Dazed and Confused, Live at MSG in 1973! Jimmy Page’s guitar solo is amazing!!!!!!
I’m 62 I grew up with these guys. I still love this band….
Saw them do it live at the Garden in '74. I was 14. Life changing experience... \m/
This song is best listened to with headphones, the music bounces back and forth.
I love when the head bobbing starts...... now you guys know how we feel about the Zep!
Bruh. My dad raised me on their music. We have matching tattoos for this band. He literally bought me guitars and drums and would not let me leave until I got it perfect. I got sooo many memories sweating my ass off on hot summer days with him jamming along to me playing along
