Happy BIRTHDAY! 🎉🎊
I think that you really would dig Achilles Last Stand by Zeppelin . The drums are INCREDIBLE. You'll see......
Happy Birthday!! 🎉❤
Lmbo.😂hold on I wasn't ready for that😂😂❤❤just wait. Enjoy this legendary Epic song😂😂❤❤
Instead of changing the clocks by 1 hour for daylight savings ,let's set them back to the era of Led Zeppelin....
Yes! I was a teen in the 70s...best time of my life!
@@juliemanarin4127 It was around 1978 when KISS came to Adelaide Australia and I fell in love with Paul Stanley 🤣🤣🇦🇺
@@yvettemoore1082My first concert was KISS in 1979 in grade 7, here in Vancouver. Local band Loverboy backed them up. I wasn't allowed to go, but everyone in the neighborhood was going, so I took $10 from Mom's wallet and called her from the Coliseum. Tickets were $10.50. My first real act of rebellion. It was so freaking worth it!
Sounds like a plan
Sounds as good today as it did in 69
Believe it or not, this song, despite its length and strange arrangement, was played in regular rotation on FM rock stations during my youth. The older I get (alas, can't get a whole lot older, due to an expiration date unknown) the more I appreciate the music of my youth. Dang, we had great music back in the day.
It was a fun time with all that great music by outstanding musicians. I was 11 when I was introduced to Led Zeppelin on a very popular music show called "Beat Club" here in Germany. Every Saturday afternoon for only 7 years (1965 till 1972) they gave us the best life music ever. Adults didn't like it much but my mom and grandma watched with me every Saturday, and after Beat Club a music show for older folks with German "Schlager" started.
I'm right there with you on our "expiration" date -- unknown but creeping closer every day! We were SO lucky to have grown up during the time of "make love, not war" and all that that entailed. The best days of my life! I was one of those who never fit into the mainstream, and it was hard getting by always being the outsider. Then the hippie movement came along and showed me EXACTLY where I belonged and who my peers were going to be for the rest of my life. We made great changes happen, we stood for the end of the war and the beginning of civil rights for EVERY AMERICAN! Our music reflected our new-found freedom, our joy and love for each other, and our commitment to equality for everyone and dedication to no more war. Alas, we couldn't change the world, but we did try. And that's saying more than most people can say when they look back on their youth. Long live the hippie spirit and the desire to fix this broken country and fill it with love for each other once more. Long live our great music and our great dream. NEVER surrender -- NEVER!!
Just heard it today on the radio !
@@pippavombr5856 I vaguely remember that show as I was born in Augsburg & moved to the States {Georgia} in '73 ✌💖☮
Yeah back in the 70s and 80s LZ was common on the radio, both FM and AM.
I'm about to turn 67. Realize that this song was a Top 40 a.m. radio hit. Let that sink in for a minute relative to what's on the radio today.
FACT
Depressing isn't it?!
Depressing isn't it?!
Junk today...
The AM stations played a shorter version. The psychedelic interlude was trimmed down so the song was just a little over three minutes long.
Backdoor, back then, meant literally the backdoor. That door refers to where a lover could sneak in and out of undetected.
Yes, it was quite a common phrase in blues and soul songs of the 60's, especially for Vietnam songs when guys came home and found their wives cheating, 'somebody run outta my back door...'
Glad you posted that, and that I thought to look first before I did the same.
the younguns have such a dirty mind.. !!!!
No. It meant anal. What you originally thought.
No it didn't. "Shake for me, girl - while I exit thru the backdoor"?. Uh, no.
More Zeppelin is always more better.
Mac couldn’t have said that any more better.
Everything they did was "always light and shade, a whisper to the thunder." To quote Jimmy Page
ha! never heard that "whisper" part, cool!
“Dynamics… light and shade… the whisper to the thunder… sort invite you in… sort of intoxicating…”
-Jimmy Page
(Look up “Jimmy page ramble on, it might get loud” if you want to see it)
@@JU5TINPDX will do, thx!
Here’s one : “ Babe I’m gonna leave you “ - Led Zeppelin 🔥👍
One of my favorites
This and "When the Levee Breaks" are MUSTS.😊
Anything off LZ 3!
@@stj971LZ3 is the best IMO
Yes!!!!
At the closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games, Jimmy Page rises from the top of a double decker bus and starts playing Whole Lotta Love to promote English culture for the next Olympic Games in London. How cool was that 🤗
I got major goose bumps watching that!
Oh man, I missed that!
Notice each of their songs are very different, but as soon as you hear them on a radio, you know it is Zeppelin.
Thank you to the supporter who suggested this. There is not even a word to describe Zeppelin.
I love hanging out on Polos Chanel. Sometimes I feel like I’m all alone in this world.
I love blasting this music in my car when I’m driving. It sucks sometimes not being able to experience these times with like minded people.
I suggested this song in the buy me a coffee link and also a few more times in the comments sections. I LOVE this song. It's my favorite. Led Zeppelin has been my favorite band since Jr. High. No other band can touch them. To me, there's Led Zeppelin, and then there's everybody else.
@@jaydellgregory1134 Amen.
Same here!!!! When it comes to music like this I’m sure I’ve driven past many a folk who saw me doing my thing to whatever I’m blasting thinking “Oh no! Call the popo-there’s a crazy bitch having a meltdown behind the wheel!!”🤣🤣🤣How can you not? If the music you like DOESN’T make you react in certain ways there’s something wrong with you 😳
@@Deam7666 😊
I had a bad day earlier and needed a pick me up. I was blasting Pantera on the way home. I think it scared some people away. 😄
This reminds me of being young, maybe on acid, or at a high-school dance or both. Haha those were the days. This wasn't my kind of music, still isn't, but I can still appreciate the musicality, and sexuality
55 yrs later. I still get chills on that final scream in the fade out.
Plant had the perfect voice for real rock and roll!
This song is a must with headphones.
And a doob!
Yes the panning back and forth on headphones and really exaggerated if you were high😁☮️
Aren't they all though! But yeah that sound swirling around your head...pure magic!
You've heard this ...1st song whose guitar lead captured every young man's imagination...beyond anything done up until this time. Flawless song.
Middle section simulates/emulates an O..gazm
It's so funny. I was a young virgin when I was really into Led Zeppelin and never understood this aspect until just now-as a middle-aged man with two young boys. I wonder if they will be smarter than me when I introduce them to this great tune.
@@markg3380 if smart, they will remain a virgin until marriage. It's how/what God intended.
@Videoparuser I feel sorry for anyone who never manages to get married in that case - missing out on ever feeling love in the most fundamental and intimate way possible. I'm sure God didn't intend it that way - nature dictates and has done well before anybody had thought about performing public ceremonies of any type
Can’t you write orgasm ?😂

This brings back memories. I was 16 years old and living in Kaysville, Utah. I’m 70 years old now. I came across your podcast a few days ago and been watching them for 5 hours straight now. I love watching and listening to your reactions from the artists that you share with us. You’re a very special person. You feel deeply. You’re real 😻
John Bonham showed his genius in this song. He's been gone for a long time and is still a GOAT on the Drums.
again. JPJ the most underrated musician ( not just bass) … musician. he can do anything. he’s basically playing rhythm guitar in this song.
Yes! Bass...keys....synth...mellatron...mandolin...banjo etc
I always thought that he kept zepplin true to their goals of blues rock myself
@victorbradshaw7359 agree, even in later years when they started experimenting with more genre bending music the blues roots could always be heard.
Yes to JPJ being underrated.
And helped in other bands ,playing, production
I was 14 when this was released. Zep and Floyd the best music ever
and queen ...
@@thepunadudeI like Queen, but they are far away from Zep and Floyd.
So jealous. I wasn’t alive for another 5 years but the first cassette tape I bought was ‘the song remains the same’ because I could get 2 tapes for the price of one. Double album:) listened to Moby Dick and became a drummer. OMG I love this band.
@@djknox2 very far away.
Zep and Floyd , agreed. Must have both to keep the universe properly aligned. My opinion.
"I wasn't ready" made me laugh. Zeppelin is next level.
You can never go wrong with the Zep!
you should celebrate your birth onto this planet! We are all souls of creation and worthy of celebrating! Happy almost Birthday, POLO!
Happy B-day!!!! Just celebrated my 71st birthday on the 8th. Still LOVE Led Zepp and just BLAST IT when my grandkids aren't here. Reminds me of my Navy Days during the Vietnam War. I've instructed my kids to play "Stairway to Heaven" at my funeral some day. :)
☮️👍❤️
Why not with your grandkids?
@@moirosalinaAll four of them are under 5 years old...maybe when they're teenagers if I'm still around. :😛
Grew up with Zeppelin. Some of the best and most timeless music around..
About 20 years ago I was taking out the garbage. The dumpster was right next to a bus stop and there was a kid, looked about 15 waiting for the bus. What caught my eye was that he was wearing a tee shirt with the Swan Song fallen angel on it.
"Hey...cool shirt."
"Thanks. My dad listens to a lot of old rock"
Walked away thinking that someone is raising their kid proper.
God bless the 70s
Jimmy Pages ability to make amazing sound effects is legendary. You should see him play with a violin bow. Effin genius.
He’s the king of overdub. Zep is my all time favorite band but it’s a known fact they sucked live cuz Page couldn’t repeat what he did in studio. Regardless I’ll always love this band!
"Happy B-Day" Polo!
Sending You, A Whole Lotta Love!!!!
I see what you've done there😂😂
Happy birthday, Polo. Zeppelin is a great start for your birthday!
Even Robert Plant plays an instrument
It's called "The Voice of the Gods"
He's the only one who knows how to play it
Best description of he’s amazing vocals, greatest range & tone of vocals ever.
and he is badass on the harmonica
@@satori03 yes he is, he really gets the bluesy sound on it. I wish he had played it more then he did though, not every song of course, just more.
He plays guitar too. And they all sing.
@@bellabunnell3174 he plays guitar more so for writing music.
Heard 1st time in 1969 + it blew me away!!! Led Zeppelin will never be duplicated never! I still love every song forever
march 11, 1954! my BD Polo! 70yrs old & still rocking to LED ZEPPELIN! Happy Birthday to both of us!
Another trip around the sun! Happy Birthday!
Its a cello bow on the guitar.
For Whole Lotta Love, Page used a theremin.
John Bonham was the greatest drummer in rock history. He was known as the Beast. If you want to see his masterpiece you should watch the live version of Moby Dick When he died the band broke up. Zeppelin did a reunion tour with John Bonham son Jason who plays the drums just like his dad. This was the music of my youth. I still listen to it on vinyl
Don't forget Neil Rush's drummer.
Did you pick up of Jimmys new versions and some without vocal, there’s a very haunting version of “ In the Light” (Everybody Makes it Through)
They did a couple shows with Jason Bonham. They did not do a reunion tour.
I can't believe the way this song holds up today, 50 years later. If this came out today it would blow the doors off everything else.
A beast of a track, that riff, the drumming, JPJ matching the guitar and then Robert’s vocals leaving no ambiguity as to what it’s about, no surprising it’s considered one of the best rock songs!
One of the greatest Zeppelin songs, so happy to hear you liked it!!
Happy Birthday 🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂take that trip, have that cake, read that book, enjoy
Secret trick of their sound: Bonham’s kick doubled the guitar riff and bass often, giving them that thick feel.
Been waiting so long for you to react to this song. Thank you for your reaction. It's like hearing this song again for the first time, re-living it through you.
Happy Birthday!!
This song outraged so many parents back then.... I'm 58 and loved these guys since day 1. I have 2 older siblings, oneplayed Zepp, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath etc while the other was the Beatles, CCR, Cat Stevens etc..... I was SOOOOOO lucky!
58 here too. I have 4 older siblings, 2 liked Rock--thank God. I got a bit of everything. Have a killer Vinyl collection. One artist people skip a lot that I know we all loved back in the day was Linda Ronstadt. I really miss the pure, honest female vocals from that era.
@Missunderstood103 oh I agree! Some stellar female vocalists you just don't hear anymore
I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert…in THE 70’s! Nuff said.
Saw them 1970 w Ten Years After!
He died on me and I had tickets for Cleveland 1980. Was blessed to see Plant 3 times, Jimmy with the Firm , Jimmy and Robert in 95 !!!! ✊ your so 🍀
Saw them 3rd row in 77 NYC. Just wow!
'cooler than the other side of the pillow' That's a good one. Happy birthday Polo
What a great way to describe this. ❤
I just want to make sure you Knew. Abbey road came out same year and beetle were doing ‘come together’ and ‘here comes the sun’ while the stones put out ‘gimme shelter’ and ‘you can’t always get what you want’ which are all great songs. But this is next level different and game changing. 1969. Wish I had been a teenager back then. My brother was only 1 and I was a wink in my father’s eye.
Exactly! They were so strong, different than anyone, powerful and with the series front man on vicals!!!
This is a Muddy Waters song they arranged in their way. Happy Birthday!
Between Jimmy and Robert, can't deny Zeppelin
Happy birthday! Drummer John Bohnam’s yell at 8:44 😊
Happy Birthday Polo, Have a great vacation.
Lotta babies made to this song !!!
THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME. Period. No question. During those years Playboy magazine would put out one special issue each year. They would put together a band, an orchestra really of the greatest musicians, in their opinion for that year. For example you might have Frank Sinatra as your lead singer, Jimmy Page as the lead guitarist etc. but in the Led Zepplin years it was amazing. Every year, every one to my recollection, each member of Zepplin made the list. ALL FOUR. So, Robert Plant was the band’s make believe orchestra’s lead singer. Jimmy Page lead guitarist. John Paul Jones on bass guitar. And the greatest drummer of all time, Jon Bonham on drums. I used to love seeing that every year.
Long live the Mighty Zep!
I think you will love their song Ramble On.
Polo would love RAMBLE ON...he so loves the bass..
Happy Birthday!🎉
We ate this for breakfast. This is what Gen-X was raised on. This is who we are.
Gen x? Try baby boomers!
I remember the first time i heard this song.......I thought how are they going to top this!! Ive loved ZEPPELIN for as long as i can remember. BEST BAND EVER!!!
I bought myself the Celebration Day video from Led Zeppelin for my last birthday! What an amazing concert that would have been! Wishing you the best on your day!
Happy birthday baby, treat yourself nice and enjoy it all.
Happy birthday old mate.
My wife bought me tickets to see Suzi Quatro on the 23rd, my 70th birthday, haven't seen Suzi live since 1975.
You keep on rockin' Polo, I love what you do.
I saw Suzi about 5 years ago. She's still got it!
Back in my college days there was an eleven story dorm. Every once in a while someone who had a fantastic stereo system would put the speakers out the window and play “love” and it sounded like someone falling out the window. Great times
Happy Birthday, Polo!!. This is my favorite Led Zeppelin song- but honestly I love them all and listen to them still, to this day. I'm 66, but feel 21 in my heart. I was lucky enough to see them at Riverfront in Cincinnati in the 70's❤❤
This is another song that makes me hurt my senior citizen self. I sprained my wrist on my steering wheel banging on it a couple of years ago. I know this song as soon as the first bar comes on the radio
@starlaryer4165
We're going 2 be interesting folk in the 'retirement communities'.
Jimmy Page and that bow on the guitar strings.🤣 I remembered Zep being asked what this song was about, they all laughed and stated “Exactly What It Sounds Like and What The Lyrics Clearly Say!
Happy Birthday, Polo! Hope you have an amazing day. The line "I wanna be your back door man" is an old blues riff. The husband or regular boyfriend came in through the front door and the "lover" came in through the back door. I just love how much you love Led Zeppelin. The sound track of my life from the late '60s through the '70s, there was Yes, LZ, Pink Floyd, ELP, The Moody Blues, Genesis, Jethro Tull, etc. etc. and you are there digging all of it. It's a joy to watch you hear these amazing bands and songs for your first time. =)
Back door man in this context is not "the door"
@@mariajobson739 Yes, it is. This is a KNOWN blues term. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_Door_Man#:~:text=5%20Sources-,Lyrics,before%20the%20husband%20comes%20home.
Well now it’s after Midnight, so Happy Birthday Sir.
Don't forget, when you listen to these songs, about the year that they came out and were hits. That was a raw song back in the day. Yes, I was there...lol...and still love them.
"back door man" is a blues reference. Hubby heads for work out the front door and lover comes in the back door....or runs out the back door when hubby comes home.
Happy Birthday! 🎉 This is a great song to give to yourself! You cant go wrong with Led Zeppelin. "Don't tell me you've never got the Led out!?" - School of Rock.
I'm 56, so unfortunately I was a few years too late to see Zeppelin live. I only saw my first concert in 1979, grade 7. John Bonham died 1 year later. I did find a soundboard bootleg from March 19th and 20th 1975 from Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum... my home town. It sounds so freaking clear! I was too young to see it, but my uncles were there on the first night. I'm so freaking jealous. I did get to see Robert Plant solo though... 3 times... '83, '85, and '88. The '83 tour had Phil Collins on drums, and the encore was a jam similar to the psychedelic part of Whole Lotta Love, with Plant saying "Push it! Push it! Push it!". 😎
The mighty Led Zeppelin made life in the 70’s a better place. Now I’m 70 and it still has that magic. Birthday Blessings, Polo!
I haven't had many birthday parties ether...didn't have them in my family. But HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Love that you love the mighty Led Zep ❤
Same here
Those birthday plans sound like the best kind. I understand the desire to turn down the thoughts and read. Hope you get to enjoy doing that. Also, Led Zeppelin is my all-time favorite band since I found them late in 1978. Thank you.
Happy Birthday 🎉🎉 Hope you do go on your trip. Tennessee is a wonderful place for someone who enjoys music. Beautiful country to lay down a blanket and read a book under the beautiful sky, peaceful and majestic. At night go listen to some great music. God bless.
Happy birthday
Happy Birthday, Polo. Zep is always great. Nice reaction.
The first time I heard this my grandmother was nearby, and after it was over, I asked her if it wasn’t the most beautiful song she had ever heard and was absolutely astonished when she said “No.” I was 13 at the time, and the remains of Led Zeppelin is still my favorite band to this day, at age 68. _Kashmir_ is my cell phone’s ringtone!
Happy Birthday man 🎉 mines coming up April. Going kayaking.
Led Zeppelin was my medicine through out my life.
Happy Birthday! Zepplin is always a great choice. Go watch the live concert video.
Even after farrr to many decades of listening to LZ and this track , it still gives me chills
Master class from the best
Note how Jimmy used studio "reverse echo" (where the echo happens before the word on the song) on Roberts lyrics. He did this by cutting and pasting actual tape together in the studio.
HBD2U! Here is to one more trip around the sun… and many, many, many, more.
Many happy returns on your own personal holiday!
No one like Bonham!! RIP John! Greatest drummer!❤
back door man had a different meaning in the 70's-one man leaving by the front door of the house and one sneaking in the back. Hope your Birthday is relaxing and wonderful!
Happiest of birthdays! Self care is a wonderful thing to gift to yourself! When you said read and go biking I was thinking wouldn't that be nice.... Here in the mountains of NH we had a snow storm and received a few inches of snow (we were already at flood stage before the snow.) In these mountains there is a 5th season (I didn't know that until I moved here 2 years ago) called Mud Season! Winter, Mud, Spring, Summer, and Fall.
Hope you enjoy your birthday trip as much as you enjoy listening to great music!
Mud season's the best, not too cold, no traffic, no people and no bugs!
Back door man is the guy going out the back door as the husband is coming in the front door.
Hold on. I wasn’t ready. ❤❤❤🤘🏻
That's my ringtone! According to the kids in my company I'm the coolest grandma they know. LOL! You can NOT go wrong with Led. "Backdoor man" was a secret lover who came in and left through the backdoor... unseen.
Happy Birthday 🎉
The race car sound is sliding the pick up the strings. Then it's playing guitar with a bow. I'm sure you caught the little tip of the hat to traditional African drums, you'll even see Robert and John do a traditional African dance.
Happy Birthday Mr. P
Happy Birthday you deserve to celebrate and be celebrated.

Hi
I’m a 53 year old man from the UK, I would love to see how a gentleman from the USA would react to a song from my younger days.
In the late 70s and early 80s there was a musical phenomenon called Two tonne, Ska and sometimes skinhead music.
It stated with working class kids who had grown up listening to traditional Jamaican ska, rocksteady, and reggae. These Influences were mixed with punk and a whole new movement was born.
The artist from both black and white backgrounds came together to inspire the young people of the uk to stand and dance with each other.
The track I was thinking of for you was Ghost town by the specials.
The specials for a mix of black and white kids who had grown up together in a West Midlands town called Coventry in England. This was at the start of the 80s when Margaret Thatcher was still in power as the Prime Minister and unemployment was running high in the United Kingdom.
It is more solemn belief that if more people came together with music the bit less hate in the world.

Yeah, I wanted to say... that outrageous stereo ping pongging and effects is the sound of what a stupid strong head rush feels like! 😄
Arguably, THE quintessential Rock Band.
