Stacey, I own a book titled "Deep Blues" by Robert Palmer (no relation to the late singer of the same name) which explores black music brought over from Africa with the slaves and ends around the mid 60's. (BB King comes in near the end of the book) My point is, Jimmy Page was hugely influenced by the black musicians from the 20's to the 50's. This book goes into great detail about those old blues boys and cites numerous examples of lyrics that were "naughty". Everyone knew what was being implied but yet there could still be an innocent explanation for it, LOL. I urge anyone who reads this to find a copy of this book. Once you read it 2 or 3 times, you will understand where every band from (1962-Present) The Stones/Beatles/Zep/The Who/Pink Floyd/Sabbath/Queen/Rush/ ACDC/Van Halen/Iron Maiden/Tool, etc comes from. First heard this in 1969 at Camp Pendlton. The Beatles had just released Abbey Road and i was astonished at the sound. Both albums traded places at the top three different times into the first couple months of 1970
It's all about "sex, drugs, and rock and roll". Zeppelin would often do panning in their songs so different parts would go back and forth between the headphones. The breakdown part was Jimmy Page playing a Theremin, which is an instrument that looks like an aerial and emits an oscillating sound by moving your hand close to and around the aerial while he used a dial to control pitch. I'm glad you did the studio cut because the "official" video has a shortened Theremin part and I'm also glad you've done another Zep song because it's been a minute lol. Please do more!
You should see The Song Remains The Same, where Jimmy uses a Theremin during the concert, so you can see how they work. This song was based on blues standards, and "back door man" was the old-timey way of saying "side dude." :)

Back in the early 70s if you listen to bands like this you were a hippie, the first time I seen them in concert back in 1975 here in St.louis I barely walked out of the arena lol. My second favorite band ever. Robert Plant said in a interview when he was a young boy living in England that the first time he heard Elvis sing on the radio he knew he was going to be a singer. Elvis was his favorite singer growing up. He findly got to meet his idol when the band went to see Elvis in concert. Elvis knew they were there and mentioned that Led Zeppelin was in the crowd and Robert Plant said he wiped the tears from his eyes. When one of Elvis's bodyguards walked up to the table and told the band that he wanted them to come over to his hotel after the show to meet each other they were shocked. That interview is on utube if anybody is interested in seeing it. It's pretty interesting.
This was a great 45 record because the flip side was "Living Loving Maid", another great song. It is the one that "Whole Lotta Love" leads into on the album, I'm pretty sure: "With a purple umbrella and a fifty cent hat..."* *Not talking about the artist, Fifty Cent. His hats are more expensive. In concert, those weird sounds in the instrumental section of "Whole Lotta Love", are shown to be made by a violin bow on guitars and cymbals. Jimmy Page did some of that in his gig with the earlier perhaps greater band, The Yardbirds...who could also boast of Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck as guitarists in the band. Lots to explore. Thanks for sharing great music.
My favorite LZ song...often voted best riff in rock...love Plants orgasm at the end...I watched you guys from your first Zeppelin song...they are growing on you haha....great review
The USA gave the world Blues music, without Blues no Led Zep. Hi from Perth Australia saw them play here in early 70s. I'm 82 years young this year and still rocking mainly in my rocking chair.

Thank you for all the good music from Germany! May each day of the New Year Bring happiness, good cheer And sweet surprises… To you and all your dear ones! Happy New Year 2022!
Opening track to the brilliant 2nd album from 1969....the album that knocked the Beatles "Abbey Road" album out of the number 1 slot and established Zeppelin at the top of the rock world. Zep took over in the 1970s where the Beatles left off in the 1960s, and they were the dominant band for the next 11 years. Whole Lotta Love has perhaps the greatest and most recognizable riffs in rock history, and the song set the tone for 1970s rock.
Can’t believe nobody’s heard this song before I grew up with it. But you’re getting ready to hear it now enjoy. He’s talking about making love boys and girls.
When I was waiting in Epsom High Street to take my bus to school back in the early 60's this boy used to walk past me with a guitar on his back. He was going to his school. He was well known in Epsom (town 20 miles south of London, England). If you wanted to learn to play guitar you wrnt to see Jimmy. Well Jimmy (Page) went on to become one of the world's greatest rock guitarists and was one of the founders of Led Zeppelin.
Picked my son up from school one day and this was playing on the radio. The part where Plant goes; aaah, aaaah, aaaah, aaaah, aaaaah, my son yells out chooo! Now I can't hear this song without laughing.
Jones and Bohnam were big Motown fans. Best part of the reaction is to the "freak out" part of the album, where Page used a theremin, an odd instrument most often heard in music for old horror movies.

you guys did this song justice listening to this with headphones on. love from Buffalo
This is BANGER country y'all! Rock on steroids by the great group Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin! 😛😛💯💯. Happy New Year to a GREAT couple and UA-cam all stars!
I've rarely seen BJ so into a song ! Fabulous ! .....and fun breakdown, your relationship definitely makes this channel fun for me, and as I've said Asia's mystical diving into the heart of things with her gaze and mouth, and BJ's humour and little quips, its all good you two
That guitar solo is dirty as hell. Page is a god.
this is why Led Zeppelin is THE GREATEST rock band ever .
Another great reaction to a great band and song. Checkout some more great songs from led zeppelin like when the levee breaks, the lemon song, black dog, ramble on, thank you, and in my time of dying
Great album. I bought Led Zeppelin Two, back in 1969, when I was 14 years old. I had to play this song, when my Dad at work. New Subscriber too.
love that you can hear the blues in their music along with that hard rock edge, great combination
Asia blushing a sight to see.😁 This song is a classic! 🙏🏽✌🏽❤️
LMAO as this song was definitely one when I was listening to as a teen my parents would yell from the living room to “turn down that NOISE!” 😂
Way to go Asia!! 'Oh My God' as Jimmy and Bonzo do their thing is just about right 🙂
EDIT: One of the best reactions I've seen to this epic track :-)
This was a great 45 record because the flip side was "Living Loving Maid", another great song. It is the one that "Whole Lotta Love" leads into on the album, I'm pretty sure: "With a purple umbrella and a fifty cent hat..."*
*Not talking about the artist, Fifty Cent.
Heartbreaker leads into LLM, just looking out.
@@catmanpc9166 Oh yeah, thanks! Another very great song!
He didn’t use the cello bow in Whole Lotta Love you might be thinking of Dazed and Confused
So cool how Asia lights up when there is a killer guitar playing... especially with ac/dc.
Back then and still now, greatest of all time..they made the blueprint for everything to come after this
This album, #2, blew my mind and changed my life....just wow!
LOL!! That look you had Asia on the freak out section!! Priceless! The mighty Zeppelin! Follow...
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and "Since I've Been Loving You(Live)" by Led Zeppelin!!!! Fire!!!!
i used to hear this on my transistor radio. it was among a few songs that i hated because it was too long. of course i love it now. one of the best Zeppelin songs ever.
So fun watching you guys experience Led Zepplin. I am 45 and have been loving them since I was a kid. My Uncle got me into it back then. I am enjoying watching you guys enjoy them too
Love you too :) The thing about the length of the instrumental is how much more powerful it makes the guitar solo when it comes in
Thank you for all the good music from Germany!
May each day of the New Year
Bring happiness, good cheer
And sweet surprises…
To you and all your dear ones!
Happy New Year 2022!
This is epic. Hollywood Vampires does my favorite cover. Happy New Year everyone!
Probably my favorite reaction couple cause theyre such a cool couple, and dig the music straight up
Opening track to the brilliant 2nd album from 1969....the album that knocked the Beatles "Abbey Road" album out of the number 1 slot and established Zeppelin at the top of the rock world.
BJ nailed it. There’s a lot of Led Zep DNA out there. Hard to judge em, when you get the pick of the litter in every town you play in.
Listening while stoned was crazy good...never forget the good ole days!!!
Zeppelin was one of many great bands who took inspiration from old Mississippi Delta Blues. Down and Dirty!
I am so glad you two heard this one, I was going to send it to you. This is the shit I grew up with .
Picked my son up from school one day and this was playing on the radio. The part where Plant goes; aaah, aaaah, aaaah, aaaah, aaaaah, my son yells out chooo! Now I can't hear this song without laughing.
The late great John Bonham on drums. He was a beast! RIP Bonzo.
Jones and Bohnam were big Motown fans. Best part of the reaction is to the "freak out" part of the album, where Page used a theremin, an odd instrument most often heard in music for old horror movies.
Robert said "you want a whole lotta love" Asia said "Yea"
Never trust anyone who doesn't like Led Zeppelin.
These two are the best reviewers on you tube, thoughtful honest response
Year 1975. Sitting around with friends smoking blunts, listening to the Zep. Awwww memories
