Hey guys I just got a rockford t1000.1bd burnt both my 10 kickers almost instantly does anyone know a set of good shallow 10s that could run in a (single cab) kicker box or should I look for different boxes that's are 12s anyone thanks
And 16kW @ higher than ½ ohm! Wow! I have 2 Taramps Bass 8Ks wired to 0.7 ohm and at 16V and I still can't hit 16kW! (15k) lol damn impedance rise! (Yes I know it's bcuz of my box rise which isn't the same on an amp Dyno)

@steve clark you're right, the Smart3 is stellar especially for its small size. Everyone of my friends who don't know car audio all that well & just like bass cannot believe that all the bass in my system is coming from that little amp once I show it to them. I've been using my Smart3 in one of my cars for 16 months & I love it! The Smart5 BASS has been on my list of next amp to buy ever since it was released. Though I must admit that I thought this amp would do well on the dyno BUT I never thought it would do this incredible. I think it slightly surprised Big D. Steve I hope you get your Smart5 soon!
@Bakhtiyar Gillani I've had mine powering a single 18" sub at 1 ohm for a lil over 16 months now and no I've not experienced any heating issues within those 16 months (Knock on wood) & I play my music hard. Have listened to bass heavy songs back to back for an hour to up to an hour and a half without the lil Taramps getting hot or into protect. The Smart amps are definitely beasts. I definitely do not regret buying mine. I also have a Taramps md8000 and a Sundown Audio sfb5000. Love them all!
@Tiago Jose here in the United States there are so many people who hate on Brazilian & full bridge amps in general. Personally I love them & have had nothing but great results from my Taramps & full bridge amps. I have a Taramps Smart3 & a MD8000.1 and also have a Sundown sfb5000 amp which is a full bridge similar to Brazilian except the Sundown sfb amps are Chinese rather than Brazilian. The Sundown full bridge also get a lot of hate here in the States. I think most of the full bridge haters here in the States have simply just never owned a Brazilian or full bridge amp. Don't get me wrong their are plenty of people here in the States that love Taramps too. It just seems any car audio show or anywhere there's a lot of bassheads their will always be a big group of people hating on Brazilian/Full Bridge and cracking jokes at anyone using them in their vehicles.

The second any maker takes a design to China it gets duplicated then its just a matter of finding a cheaper noname brand that has simply gotten the chinese manuf. to provide boards. There is no protection of patents or IP rights at all over there for anything.
I wish I had the electrical system to support a smart 5. I'm currently running a Taramps MD3k, it is the BEST BANG for your BUCKS. You can't go wrong with a Taramps.

@@wal bass knobs r cheap good power isn't imo, get a slam panda or a knock off and u have a great bass knob, for people that run more than one of these a bass knob is useless, but real world power out the bass series is about 6500 never seen more than that, I have crested 7k out of two of mine on one burp but taramps has a winner with this Amp
@@Only-Memories-In-The-End i've been confounded by this also.. but in reality we are talking about the extreme bottom of the bandwidth' 75 hz and down..i dont think theres much sonic separation going on down there. They wouldn't mix home stereos and almost every current car audio application if you could pick apart the sonic resonance that easily. Stereo separation would have to kick in up in the 400 hz range at lowest is my guess. We just dont hear well enough to separate that low a sound. Now i want to google the info since we are on it lol
Man, that test at the end is the truth in ability and durability. If she was gonna pop, that should have done it. My smart 3K had been nothing but exceptional, tough as nails, protect light for the clipping indicator and all. Not just in the lane's either. Literally tough as nails in my experience, looks like this should be on par in that department. I've built some recent mid level setups with the stetsom and taramps, and they have not been noisy, blown up, or any problems at all. I'm doing a smaller build now with another set of stetsoms, the value for the $ is great. There's cleaner and better out there, surely, but bang for the buck? Brazilian isn't bad at all. User error is usually the culprit for blown equipment. I've played with too many of them, and haven't been disappointed yet. Maybe I'm lucky. They are small, make big power, and fits in small budget installs with space constraints nicely. Anyway, appreciate what you do for da peeps man, I'll be sending this video to a couple people that like loud, as this is one hell of a solid deal! 6k rated, clean, for $500 is nuts!
@@wal the bass knob as you mentioned, some better quality adjustments (the knobs are super cheap feeling) and the other companies better look out! I respect what the Brazilians do for the community in America, even IF the amps feel cheapish to me. I'm listening to it, not playing with the knobs all day anyway! 🤣

This is the most flex I've seen from those Savards out of all the amp vids I've watched! And knowing he had an excursion limit on, that Smart5 probably had the ability to flex them past their limits.
Taramps are some of the best amps ever! Amazing prices, and great quality and performance. No bs “peak” watts. It’s nice having built in fans, not a lot of amps have it at that price point.

Been running taramps for years, I have 2 smart 3ks and a md12k. I beat the snot outta my 3ks and they take all the abuse. Even at slamology 2021, it was 120 degrees on average in the show (according to my temp gun) and the amp still performed flawlessly!

I upgraded to the Taramps Smart Bass 5k soon as it came out and facekicker and bare vids did videos on them. It's a power house. Pushes my Sundown Xv3's with ease! BYW, the bass version is .5 ohm stable 💪

I’ll probably get flamed for this comment but I own two of these smart 5k’s and several other amps. I was recently running the Orion 3000.1splx and the smart 5k outperforms the Orion. I’ve done multiple wattage clamps with the amm-1 on my setup and I’m blown away with these smart 5 amps.
Lol no it doesn't. I have 4 hcca splx 3ks, at most I've clamped 7.8k after rise, .5 rising to .99 at 15.8v. the smart 5 clamps 6k at most in the real world setting.
@@OrionHCCC26 I’m not at 15.8 volts and the majority of people aren’t going to be either. My resting voltage is at 14.8 volts and my subs are wired to .75 so I see 2 ohms and above after rise. My car, my experience, my amm-1 shows otherwise in my setup. My hcca does around 4500 watts at 1.5 ohm and the smart 5 will do 6000+ from 1.5 to a little over 2 ohm on my setup. On the meter the hcca will get me around 151.5 and with the smart 5 it’s doing 153.2 consistently.
@@ryanmcdonald6888 I hear you, all I'm saying is the smart 5 is in no way better then the splx 3ks. The 3ks do a grip more power. From internals, to power output, the Orion is far better. But for the money, the smart 5 is freaking amazing.
@@OrionHCCC26 the hcca is a better built amp all the way through. I’ve dropped it down to a 1/4 ohm before without issues for competition burps. I’ve even clamped well over 11k on the Orion at 1/4 ohm on 1-2 second burps. I definitely wouldn’t try anything like that on a Brazilian board.
I am not a fan of Taramps but wow! This amp is everything you could ask for. Great dollar per watt, efficient, constant power, and the smart technology.
@@jamesjones4309 I am not 100% sure. With the smart technology it reduces current draw at low impedances which should protect the the amp from damage and keep it running cool.
I really like this amp too. With that said i have in the pass purchased 8 different tara amps all were the md version . An still impressed with this smart technology way to go. Thanks big d for the post .
So doing 1 ohm tests vs 2 ohm tests this tells me the amplifier must really really like that area. It must be a balance of efficiency and the smart tech causing it to run better.
I remember the early Brazilian amps going up in smoke pretty easily, and the micro-controllers used in them were not easy to get. Being I grew up repairing amps, I didn’t like the idea of running an amp I can’t get parts for. I don’t want to jump through hoops or have a paper weight in the event it blows up, or have to ship off to an authorized facility. I was considering a Taramps Smart 5 a while back, was thinking of selling some old amps I've had for years, but I felt it wasn’t worth the risk. Seemed the Brazilian amps always put out decent power, that was never the issue, just longevity / reliability wasn’t good on them. Maybe the Taramps are different.
the reason why they put the power inputs on top is because thats where the heat dump is in order to cool the amp. You need the juice to be flowing close to the heat dump.
I really loved the smart 3, have installed 3-4 of them with zero problems. I'm audio tech/installer, and saying that Ive installed one smart 5 and blew up as soon as I turned it on. So customer bought another one and barely turn up the system and goes straight into protect mode. I used two zero gauge ofc power and ground with two mesa 1200 audio batteries. Hopefully they've fixed problem by now. Cus I'd like to use two smart 5s in my own Setup

Because it draws about 500 AMPS, and it's a damn sight easier to use 2 pairs of cables pulling 250A each compared to single elephant dick sized cables that handle 500A. And power needs Volts (as well as Amps), so whatever you can do to minimize voltage drop between your battery and amplifier will improve performance.
I've ran the smart 3k for 2 years never had a issue other than crappy cross over knobs the gain is extremely sensitive at certain places def got better sound when using a external crossover.
REMEMBER THE BIG D RULES. It takes power to make power. If you're going to getting anything this big. Proper battery, alternator, wiring. Otherwise it will not perform as advertised.

Most of the things we buy on a daily basis just keep going up, and the quality of many of these products keeps going down. My wife and I purchased a clothes dryer for $900 and it lasted 6 months. The repairman shrugged his shoulders and told me:"If you want a dryer that lasts for many years, you have to pay 2 grand." It's nice to see that some things are getting both cheaper and better!🙂
I've always been cautious of Brazilian amps. Years ago I learned they were notorious for catching on fire. Lately tho I haven't heard anything about it. Yet another awesome video dude. Right on. And I watch barevids too 👍👍
I love my smart 3 definitely going to get more smart amps the 5 is going to be on my next buy list , can’t believe the power and sound quality I get from my 1 smart 3 on my 2 deaf bonce 30r12s and I put my smart 3 thought the paces it gets full tilt just under clip 3+ hours a day every day never skips a beat
I am glad I bought the last two I needed because they about to sell out, no Amp does this for the money, go ahead prove me wrong it isn't a 10k watt Amp but it is a reliable 6k
Hmmm.... maybe you can use that amp to track down and eliminate all the rattling in your test area. Oh wait, you'd be left with an open field. You know, even with its efficiency, that amp is capable of drawing more than some stock alternators can put out. It's possible to drain your battery with that amp even at 60mph. Of course, if that's what you're doing, your money might be better spent getting your hearing checked out. Alternatively, if you work it right, you might be able to do some arc welding with that amp.
That's why when running something that can put out what this can. You NEED a proper electrical system. Lithium battery, upgraded alternator, proper wiring and installation. Otherwise go smaller.
i have a smart 5 bass wired at .5 it does ok around 4500 watts,, i upgraded to lto and no more power,, so i got out my Orion hcca dsplx 3k to see if it helped ,, dyno amm1 and wow 6745 watts out of a 3k on music , i see 7k outa that beast thats amazing
Anyone also notice that when the dynamic 1ohm, and all tests after taramps clip indicator stopped clipping but the dyno did not? Something tells me the smart 5k was not the one producing those crazy numbers! Suspicious to say the least.
I have four each one is clamping 4000w rms @ 2ohm @12.5v if i had higher voltage they would be doing 5k+ @ 2 ohm no problem. Also i noticed if i go into clipping or what seems like it the amps dip down until i drop the rca knob again so they protect themselves and the subs from clipping

I also got rid of my smarts and bought two surge audio 10ks. thought about getting 4 md 12ks being that would be the only upgrade from 4 smart 5 power wise, but they have a high failure rate. Compare to the other MD models so I went to surge and wired them at .5
I bought one last year because of this. I have it on 4 8 inch ds18 high excursion. I have gained set about 9 o’clock. Holy smokes it kicks ya in the head. All of sky high 0 gauge wire. On a 2024 Chevy Silverado with stock alternator no problems what so ever. No lights dimming. I have a 240 alternator. Can I just ad lithium banks. Or should I buy another alternator?

I’ve been torn between the smart line and sundown’s sia line. If Taramps would offer a nicer bass remote with built in clip light as an option I would be all over it. Sundown costs $680 for the sia5000 and Taramps smart5 is $480 BUT sundown has a nice, metal bass remote with buttery smooth potentiometer and clip light and a 2 year warranty. The taramps offers a cheap dinky looking knob with a light for $50 and their warranty is only 1 yr and their fans are loud af…as much as I want to try the taramps I just can’t do it
I stand by the whole $10 per 100w. Taramps exceeds that immensely with their smaller amps, have 2 hd3ks that have been going strong for the pass year on some skar zvx 12s
So i purchased the taramps 3000 HD to push my 2-10” ozone subs, from ct sounds. 72hrs with the amp, and i returned it. I ordered the ct sounds 2000.1d and that thing is a beast! Super pleased with CT sounds equipment… ill be jumping up to 10” meso and maybe run full ct in my titan crew
at 8 box , looks a little bit big.. i would test 4 small sealed plexiglass, look for a broken backboard, might have to raise the backseat, with some washers, make sure you got the right amount of inches of port per cube, I like to, test on low-power for Port placement, I have a piece of paper, sometimes you can Port up through the rear decl, just gethe right amount of Port per cube. Take time on your platform. Come up with hidden side storage. Good luck
Taramps is a beast!!!! I have the Taramps Md 8000.1 love it But like when you did the dyno test on the inuke nu6000 and gave us the correct rms Would love it if you could do the same for the Powersoft K20, CVR-D 3302 and Admark AD42 A lot of us are concern about the power these are amps are giving.
Man you should check out the JBL BR-A amplifiers manufactured here in Brazil, they look like the BANDA 250.2 and other like that , but they are way better than the latter, for that size, power and price they're straight killers. I've just got a BR-A 300.3 for a home custom system, and it sounds amazing, and the best thing is you can't hear any ground noise on the speakers at all.

@@dyslectische it won't be a problem cause the amps can run at 4 ohms but using 8 speakers all 8 ohm is a 1 ohm load.

Bought a Smart3 based on your review and it’s a damn monster. A real 5kW+ amp - well - I couldn’t be trusted not to melt everything!

Stetsom seems to have quality control issues, but I run a Taramps very satisfied

I'm doing a smaller build now with another set of stetsoms, the value for the $ is great. There's cleaner and better out there, surely, but bang for the buck? Brazilian isn't bad at all. User error is usually the culprit for blown equipment. I've played with too many of them, and haven't been disappointed yet. Maybe I'm lucky. They are small, make big power, and fits in small budget installs with space constraints nicely.
Anyway, appreciate what you do for da peeps man, I'll be sending this video to a couple people that like loud, as this is one hell of a solid deal!

@@wal the bass knob as you mentioned, some better quality adjustments (the knobs are super cheap feeling) and the other companies better look out! I respect what the Brazilians do for the community in America, even IF the amps feel cheapish to me. I'm listening to it, not playing with the knobs all day anyway! 🤣

Been running taramps for years, I have 2 smart 3ks and a md12k. I beat the snot outta my 3ks and they take all the abuse. Even at slamology 2021, it was 120 degrees on average in the show (according to my temp gun) and the amp still performed flawlessly!

I’ll probably get flamed for this comment but I own two of these smart 5k’s and several other amps. I was recently running the Orion 3000.1splx and the smart 5k outperforms the Orion. I’ve done multiple wattage clamps with the amm-1 on my setup and I’m blown away with these smart 5 amps.
Lol no it doesn't. I have 4 hcca splx 3ks, at most I've clamped 7.8k after rise, .5 rising to .99 at 15.8v. the smart 5 clamps 6k at most in the real world setting.
@@OrionHCCC26 I’m not at 15.8 volts and the majority of people aren’t going to be either. My resting voltage is at 14.8 volts and my subs are wired to .75 so I see 2 ohms and above after rise. My car, my experience, my amm-1 shows otherwise in my setup. My hcca does around 4500 watts at 1.5 ohm and the smart 5 will do 6000+ from 1.5 to a little over 2 ohm on my setup. On the meter the hcca will get me around 151.5 and with the smart 5 it’s doing 153.2 consistently.
@@ryanmcdonald6888 I hear you, all I'm saying is the smart 5 is in no way better then the splx 3ks. The 3ks do a grip more power. From internals, to power output, the Orion is far better. But for the money, the smart 5 is freaking amazing.
@@OrionHCCC26 the hcca is a better built amp all the way through. I’ve dropped it down to a 1/4 ohm before without issues for competition burps. I’ve even clamped well over 11k on the Orion at 1/4 ohm on 1-2 second burps. I definitely wouldn’t try anything like that on a Brazilian board.

@@jamesjones4309 I am not 100% sure. With the smart technology it reduces current draw at low impedances which should protect the the amp from damage and keep it running cool.
I really like this amp too. With that said i have in the pass purchased 8 different tara amps all were the md version . An still impressed with this smart technology way to go. Thanks big d for the post .
So doing 1 ohm tests vs 2 ohm tests this tells me the amplifier must really really like that area. It must be a balance of efficiency and the smart tech causing it to run better.

I remember the early Brazilian amps going up in smoke pretty easily, and the micro-controllers used in them were not easy to get. Being I grew up repairing amps, I didn’t like the idea of running an amp I can’t get parts for. I don’t want to jump through hoops or have a paper weight in the event it blows up, or have to ship off to an authorized facility. I was considering a Taramps Smart 5 a while back, was thinking of selling some old amps I've had for years, but I felt it wasn’t worth the risk. Seemed the Brazilian amps always put out decent power, that was never the issue, just longevity / reliability wasn’t good on them. Maybe the Taramps are different.

the reason why they put the power inputs on top is because thats where the heat dump is in order to cool the amp. You need the juice to be flowing close to the heat dump.

I really loved the smart 3, have installed 3-4 of them with zero problems. I'm audio tech/installer, and saying that Ive installed one smart 5 and blew up as soon as I turned it on. So customer bought another one and barely turn up the system and goes straight into protect mode. I used two zero gauge ofc power and ground with two mesa 1200 audio batteries. Hopefully they've fixed problem by now. Cus I'd like to use two smart 5s in my own Setup
probably need more battery, my buddy has a smart 5 on 1 40ah bank of yinlong and a 270amp alt holds 13.5v+ over 14 driving its a beast

Because it draws about 500 AMPS, and it's a damn sight easier to use 2 pairs of cables pulling 250A each compared to single elephant dick sized cables that handle 500A. And power needs Volts (as well as Amps), so whatever you can do to minimize voltage drop between your battery and amplifier will improve performance.
Taramps has truly changed the game. Anyone that hates on them is just mad they are losing profits.
I've ran the smart 3k for 2 years never had a issue other than crappy cross over knobs the gain is extremely sensitive at certain places def got better sound when using a external crossover.

Most of the things we buy on a daily basis just keep going up, and the quality of many of these products keeps going down. My wife and I purchased a clothes dryer for $900 and it lasted 6 months. The repairman shrugged his shoulders and told me:"If you want a dryer that lasts for many years, you have to pay 2 grand." It's nice to see that some things are getting both cheaper and better!🙂

I prefer rca bass remotes. Especially since its sinpler to intercept the rca signal from your head unit than it is to run another wire to the dash.

Hmmm.... maybe you can use that amp to track down and eliminate all the rattling in your test area. Oh wait, you'd be left with an open field.
You know, even with its efficiency, that amp is capable of drawing more than some stock alternators can put out. It's possible to drain your battery with that amp even at 60mph. Of course, if that's what you're doing, your money might be better spent getting your hearing checked out.
Alternatively, if you work it right, you might be able to do some arc welding with that amp.
That's why when running something that can put out what this can. You NEED a proper electrical system.
Lithium battery, upgraded alternator, proper wiring and installation. Otherwise go smaller.
i have a smart 5 bass wired at .5 it does ok around 4500 watts,, i upgraded to lto and no more power,, so i got out my Orion hcca dsplx 3k to see if it helped ,, dyno amm1 and wow 6745 watts out of a 3k on music , i see 7k outa that beast thats amazing
Anyone also notice that when the dynamic 1ohm, and all tests after taramps clip indicator stopped clipping but the dyno did not? Something tells me the smart 5k was not the one producing those crazy numbers! Suspicious to say the least.

I have four each one is clamping 4000w rms @ 2ohm @12.5v if i had higher voltage they would be doing 5k+ @ 2 ohm no problem. Also i noticed if i go into clipping or what seems like it the amps dip down until i drop the rca knob again so they protect themselves and the subs from clipping

I also got rid of my smarts and bought two surge audio 10ks. thought about getting 4 md 12ks being that would be the only upgrade from 4 smart 5 power wise, but they have a high failure rate. Compare to the other MD models so I went to surge and wired them at .5
The Rockford, Kicker and Alpine era is very close to the end. All these brands just dominating for 1/4 of the cost.
Not sure they are coming to an end as the SPL market is a small percentage of car audio but I know what you mean

I bought one last year because of this. I have it on 4 8 inch ds18 high excursion. I have gained set about 9 o’clock. Holy smokes it kicks ya in the head. All of sky high 0 gauge wire. On a 2024 Chevy Silverado with stock alternator no problems what so ever. No lights dimming. I have a 240 alternator. Can I just ad lithium banks. Or should I buy another alternator?

I’ve been torn between the smart line and sundown’s sia line. If Taramps would offer a nicer bass remote with built in clip light as an option I would be all over it. Sundown costs $680 for the sia5000 and Taramps smart5 is $480 BUT sundown has a nice, metal bass remote with buttery smooth potentiometer and clip light and a 2 year warranty. The taramps offers a cheap dinky looking knob with a light for $50 and their warranty is only 1 yr and their fans are loud af…as much as I want to try the taramps I just can’t do it

I ordered the ct sounds 2000.1d and that thing is a beast! Super pleased with CT sounds equipment… ill be jumping up to 10” meso and maybe run full ct in my titan crew

at 8 box , looks a little bit big.. i would test 4 small sealed plexiglass, look for a broken backboard, might have to raise the backseat, with some washers, make sure you got the right amount of inches of port per cube, I like to, test on low-power for Port placement, I have a piece of paper, sometimes you can Port up through the rear decl, just gethe right amount of Port per cube. Take time on your platform. Come up with hidden side storage. Good luck

Man you should check out the JBL BR-A amplifiers manufactured here in Brazil, they look like the BANDA 250.2 and other like that , but they are way better than the latter, for that size, power and price they're straight killers. I've just got a BR-A 300.3 for a home custom system, and it sounds amazing, and the best thing is you can't hear any ground noise on the speakers at all.
