I'm a 65 yo Aussie male, have always been on the thin side. In 2000 I was in a near fatal car crash with broken bones, ruptured spleen and TBI. I made a good recovery - surprised the doctors who told family members I wasn't expected to live through the night. However, around 4 - 5 years later I started to develop a digestive disorder, suffering severe bloating, abdominal pain and great difficulty passing gas or anything for that matter. I saw many doctors, specialists, nutritionists who told me to change my diet and eat lots of fiber etc etc. So I ate more wholesome cereals and vegetables and my pain only got much worse. In fact, I got so bad recently I believed I was going to die - I even prayed I would die because my life has been completely destroyed - I haven't been able to do anything except staying home, cradling my painful stomach and aching limbs. My new doctor I found since moving interstate to be with my sister said he would get to the bottom of it. All he did was prescribe different pills to try get my intestinal muscles working as food was extremely slow moving. Nothing worked, and so he has referred me to a surgeon with the prospect of a hemicolectomy!
I've never been in a darker place in my life as this. Last week, I was praying for God to help me, to show me a way out of this hell. Suddenly this channel popped up, talking about the carnivore diet. I was watching one of the episodes explaining how it all worked. I found other videos explaining the science behind it all and guess what? I have been eating nothing but meat, fish and eggs the past 4 days and my bloating has stopped! My bowels are slowly starting to work again after 15 years of constipation and gallons and gallons of Movicol and laxatives! I've also been drinking ginger and garlic tea because I've been feeling nauseous since a recent colonoscopy where they removed 5 polyps. The past three mornings have been the first in many months waking up without stomach cramps... My journey continues with a bright light at the end of the tunnel!! Thank YOU!

I believe the carnivore diet will work for you, William, but you might want to also look into the GAPS diet. The two can be combined together, so no need to go off carnivore, but it sounds like your gut biome has been through hell so you might want to give it a little extra help with some tips from the GAPS protocol.

I believe it's perfectly okay telling people you can lose weight without exercising. A LOT of people would not even start if they had to exercise AND change their diet at the same time. People get to carnivore because they have health issues they can't resolve. They feel bad and exercise is just not something they can do at the same time. I think the exercise will follow naturally later as you begin to feel better.

This is extremely true. I wasn't looking to lose weight, and I was never so debilitated that I couldn't do occasional exercise like hiking (unless I was having a joint pain flare-up), but the idea of exercising and changing my diet at the same time never even crossed my mind. I went carnivore in September 2022 and by November I felt so amazing that I started seriously exercising for the first time in almost a decade. It wasn't even on my radar at the start! I just wanted to stop feeling so sick all the time.. joint pain, fatigue, muscle weakness, unstable blood sugar, severely disordered mood, ADHD, poor sleep, a headache that I had for literally three years straight with no reprieve, etc... there was just no way I was in a position to be stressing my body further. I think it's better to tell people they should try the diet and to focus on how they feel not what they weigh, and often it seems, they'll find the energy and motivation to begin exercising after their body starts to heal.

Five years ago it was obvious my health was failing. I started eating carnivore and lost 120lbs and my health improved remarkably. However there was still a big problem. So last winter it culminated with a cancer diagnosis and a big surgery. After that I was 170 lbs, I hadn't been there since I was 14 years old (I'm 6''2"). I never knew how weak I could be. I was like a rag doll. I started moving and trying to get some strength back after 3 months. So I got stronger and got back to about 190 lbs but I was not making too much headway. Then at almost exactly the one year mark I took off. I went up to 210 and my strength virtually doubled. Our bodies are remarkable if we give them what they need and have some patience.I'm 62 years old and there are still issues but wow I feel better than I could have imagined 5 years ago.

I did the same thing in 2021 on keto from jan to september lost 50lbs. Then something started a binge, and for the next 15 months, i was just eating everything in sight. Junk food, fast food, eating out constantly, not making home cooked meals. I basically became a recluse, managing to get to work but not much else. Didn't even have the energy or motivation to meet up with friends. Plus, I gained those 50lbs back. Now, as of jan1st, 2023, I've been carnivore. Down 13lbs and am struggling as to why it's taking longer this time around (since i easily lost 20 lbs in my first month on keto). So i keep holding to the premise that my body is doing what it needs to do to regain health before it gives up the weight. I've been tweaking little things, too. Eating less didn't seem to work. Eating more high fat carnivore is finally starting to move the scale. I've just incorporated eating butter straight from the fridge, and oh man, does it ever offer a layer of satiety. What i have noticed is a significant difference in my body shape. My butt is slimming down, and my waist and hips have developed a really nice curvyness to them. And my mood throughout the day never wavers now. I'm not struggling to concentrate and process information through layers of brain fog anymore. I'm not a bear in the morning. I wake up happy, well rested and bounding with energy. The non-scale victories are coming fast and furious, and it's just a matter of time before the scale reflects how i feel. Just carry on and don't get discouraged. I wish everyone a very successful journey!!! And for the women out there, there is a mantra that i say to myself daily. (Hope i don't offend anyone cause it's a bit crude, hence the acronym). "Come on girl, CTO" (Chin up, Tits out, Onward)😉

For me, and I'm 70, in the beginning with low carb/keto, 5 years ago I was losing about 5lbs a week. I didn't have scales at home but once a week I would use the scales at the grocery store. Friends and neighbors saw my weight lose and asked if I was working out, I said NO! BUT I was so much more active! I felt great! I remember the 1st early summer I would always trim and pick up about 300 ft line of hollies and I would be so sore the next day. Then after low carb/keto I did that and I was shocked, I had no soreness the next day! That inspired me to do more. Then I went full carnivore about 6 months ago and OMG it's a different level of feeling great and being stronger!!! Kelly, Amber and Dr Berry was my inspiration to even try carnivore. THANK YOU soooo much Kelly! I invite and encourage people I know to just listen to your story. It's like finding gold if you'll just do a little "panning" It will pay off! Love ya Mrs Hogan!

I started Keto 3 1/2 years ago with 60 lbs gone, off RA medications, and other metabolic health positives happened within that 1st year. Then, I stalled completely even though I was cutting back on total carbohydrates and working out. Last year, I dialed my carb knob down to ketovore. I was in maintenance with no bad lab markers. The ones Dr. Berry mentions in his book. Then, I gained 10lb suddenly this winter within months. I don't eat anything that has a label on it & I haven't even eaten out in over 2 years. I gave up all alcohol 4 months ago too. I'm now a carnivore with no dairy, no cheats & doing BBB&E in Dr. Berry's tribe. The scale still won't budge at all & my clothes are fitting tighter. I also OMAD & enjoy a 24-hour fast twice a week. I do eat lots of delicious animal fat & meat until satiety in a small 4-hour window. I did a 72-hour fast in January to reset my body. l will not give up & will reach my goals for optimal metabolic health. Thank you for your encouragement & knowledge to help so many humans. This video has inspired me! I used to train with weights and loved it. Back in the day I could bench my weight. Now, I'm overweight, very far from being fit and have mobility issues and I think I was waiting for my health to improve before adding back exercise. To answer your question, that's the thing I was not yet ready to do even though I knew it would improve my health. But thinking about, "What am I ready, willing, and able to do," is a fantastic starting point. I've made a list and am adding exercise to my commitments.

Thank you for having this man on. I've just started doing weights and 5 minute work out's. I have osteoarthritis in my knees so I started because physical therapist said get your butt muscles in shape and it will help your knees! I know my face said whatttt? But I listened and started looking up exercises for my butt. Lol that's what started it now I'm lifting light weights for the arms doing easy workouts for my body and if I get to sore in pain I take a cupple days off and get back at it. I'm eating ketovore/ carnivore and I have seen a bit of definition in my arms in only a few weeks💃🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️I'm turning 65 its possible. 🤠

I could not do a step up onto a 2 inch plate without knee pain 6 months ago. Now I can do gentle lunges with support! Small steps and good form are the way to go. My knees are so much stronger but I went really slowly.

Hi Kelly and Coach Bronson. So glad you made this video together. Now a 2 plus year carnivore, I don’t have cravings or slip ups, but I did in the past and find that those slip ups actually helped convince me of the power of carnivore because I didn’t feel well after going off plan. Adding morning calisthenics ( in a fasted state) and mostly body weight resistance training gives me lots of energy for the day ahead. Exercise helps energize the body.

I have watched A LOT of nutrition videos and these days, they are all carnivore. I watch one nearly daily while I am cleaning, walking, driving, or cooking, but this has gotta be one of most inspiring ones I have seen!
It was funny, too! I litteraly laughed out loud multiple times while walking through the park!
I have definitely been putting too much emphasis on the scale and I didn't realize how the tunnel vision on that one number has really been messing with me. I mean, I should have realized it, but I needed to hear it and you two put it beautifully. Thank you!
I'm going to box up my scale and closet it TODAY.
I used to love exercise, but lack of progress drove me further and further from it and the was due to my IMPROPER human diet that I thought was the best thing for my body. I'm so grateful to have found out about and that I embraced carnivore about 10 months ago. Now, I need to stop worrying about the scale because I have years of misinformation for my body to undo.
Looking forward to getting back to where I was back then and then finally progressing beyond it!!

Thank you so much for this video. I have been doing a meat-heavy keto-ish diet now for 1 year. I have a lot of weight to lose and have a problem with simply walking. I have lost 30 lbs and I see a lot of good changes in my body, but I want to walk without pain. I keep saying I will exercise when I lose enough weight. Now I realize that I need to do something now. I'm going to start with just walking around the house and keep building on that. Thank you for the motivation to get up and make it happen.

I still have plenty to lose, but my body is refusing to release it. But I am feeling better. Sleeping better, less pains, not hungry, steady blood sugar, better cholesterol numbers, vit D improving, etc. etc. my quality of life is better for sure. It’s good to focus on these things.

I hovered between 350-360 the whole time. I went OMAD, lost my sweet tooth and loved not being hungry. My blood sugar would not come down and my A1C actually went up. I'm off carnivore right now but I am getting back on it concentrating on more fat intake. Looking at Dr. Boz's program.

Absolutely NOTHING you eat will lose weight for you, it's what you don't eat. I eat carnivore 1 meal every 48 hours. It's the only eating plan that is working for me and I'm sticking with it. B1 is necessary for getting all energy into the cells (sugars, fats and proteins).
Magnesium, a Bcomplex, and adequate choline is necessary to utilize B1.
You probably have a functional deficiency in B1
Research mega dosing vitamin B1 and benfotiamine (fat soluble form of B1).

I am type 1 diabetic and the meat still kept my blood sugar up, so I still needed the insulin (gluconeogenesis) ….so I knew I had insulin resistance. It sounds like you had/have type 2 diabetes, so your cells don’t know how to control your own bloodsugar. If it is out of balance already it will be tough to get back. You definitely need to get that bloodsugar down with insulin so that your body isn’t so stressed out trying to deal with it floating around your body. When this happens, other disease continues because your body can’t even keep up with basic bloodsugar to do other important tasks.

Luckily for me the number on the scale doesn't cause me stress. It's just information to me. I've been carnivore for a year and a half, and I was keto seven months prior to that, and a couple of months into keto I bought a smart scale, and since the day I got it I haven't missed a single day weighing myself. It's like a comforting routine to me now. I get up, use the restroom, brush my teeth, brush my hair, wash my face, then I go weigh, then get dressed. I've not lost near as much as I need to, and there have been periods of weight gain when eating too much dairy or eating off plan, and a long plateau, but the scale is never the reason for me eating off plan, nor do the numbers make me think of quitting carnivore. The number have encouraged me to give up dairy (except butter ... you can take my butter out of my cold, dead hands, lol) and sweetener. I'm doing far better avoiding dairy than I am avoiding sweetener. I'm having a lot more trouble with sweetener. But I'll get there.

I use the scale twice a week and it helps keep me on track and is comforting, too. I threw it away once because so many said they had done it and I gained a lot of weight. Never again. We have to listen to ourselves above all. We can be guided by other´s choices and even give them a try, but ultimately, we know best if we stop and reflect.

I'm really grateful for this, thank you. I just signed up for your April group sessions because I'm so needing help right now.
This video is calming my nerves expressly though:
I'm an autistic female and have comorbidities that left me bedridden for nearly two years - I can attest to the atrophy leading to spreading of weight.
I'm finally healing from the health issues but one that is rough is the anxiety and body dysmorphia - I'm up a good 25lbs from my comfortable weight and this morning I'm having a small meltdown due to having been keto/carnivore/lion for nearly a year and losing little to no weight.
I've had an unhealthy relationship with food in the past, and trying to fast for Lent (24-72hrs with no losses, not that that was the goal, it was all about walking with Christ, but that lack of movement scared me) turned out to be a bad idea on my mental health.
I'm rebounding and refitting my thoughts now - and while I want to get fit and feel like myself again (even at my healthiest mentally, I have a certain mental image and when I am outside of that for too long it is terribly hard for me to get over. It's a lot easier, and healthier, to just stay in my healthy target weight), I really don't want my weight/food journey to be such an idol.
I'm excited to learn what I'm lacking knowledge-wise in order to gain back the right amount of power that I lost when my health got robbed.
For anyone else in a similar boat, I'm praying for you. God has a great plan for us all and we can't lose sight of who we are to Him - He sees straight to our hearts, and loves us already...that is more than enough for me. Prayers for literally anyone reading this right now! You're loved and special beyond measure!

I can attest to several things regarding carnivore.
2 months before my 60th birthday, I started eating a "carnivorish" diet. Over the course of several months I gradually dropped the pepper sauces, the avocado, olives, MCT oil, coconut cream, and generally started eating only meat. This lasted for about 5 months, but something just wasn't working properly. My energy levels were whacked out.
I had to have a CT scan as part of a cancer screening process I undergo every couple years. The CT scan was very thorough in looking at my urinary system including my liver. It turns out i had some liver trauma in the past farther back(12-15 years ago), and again more recent times (likely 3 to 6 years ago) and each of those times are directly correlated to a lot of red wine drinking.
I now have some cirrhosis and fibrosis of the liver. I had no idea. My blood work never seemed to indicate this, but if I look at all the issues I have suffered from for most of these years despite an excellent whole food diet, they all relate to liver function issues.
This is an incredible find. Meat is good for a liver, but it takes a lot of liver energy and health to manage the hard work of cleansing proteins from meat. I have read that other foods are more easily digested while also producing healing therapy for the liver. So, as a result, I have added the following.
Blueberries. Let's address this right off. Many people say it's just a sugar addiction. No, it is not. I have been very fine without sugar. Blueberries are incredibly healthy with lots of chemicals that help and support immune systems and the liver. I eat about a 1/2 cup per day, plain.
Avocado. .Avocado has a 70% fat profile full of healthy fats which are easily digested by the liver. This helps me offset the zero dairy issue I added as well. I need the fat. These also are very helpful to liver function according to virtually all references on Google. The result has been an incredible and very pleasing digestive system function with zero pain at the exit. (For those of you who have ever been constipated or suffered from issues related to that).
Walnuts. While much hullabaloo has been stated about the unbalance between omega 3 and 6 in walnuts, I'll risk it because according to virtually all resources these are especially good for liver function. So far, this has been very positive and are another source of fat to trace dairy with.
Olives. Olives are, like avocado, a lot of fat and some fiber, plus sodium. Sodium is highly prized for carnivores as we hardly get enough even salting meats as much as we do. Olives are listed as healthy for the liver, and they provide me another alternate source of healthy fats.
Why I quit dairy. OMGosh. I love dairy cream!!! I miss it every day, however, it was destroying my face. Eczema caused by dairy haunted me every day! So, I had to face this reality and let it go. I relied on dairy for enough fat. I eat a lot of meat, but can it afford to eat really expensive Ribeyes everyday. I eat a lot of Tri-Tip. I am the Tri-Tip king and cook it to perfection. I never trim the fats and usually buy it with the fat cap on. It's the gold in the pan everyone overlooks, and it's cheaper!!! 🤣
I continue to eat meat as the boulder on my plate. But, I have added these other foods to share in my necessary food intake, looking to heal a slightly disabled liver, and thrive in the years to come.
At 60 I lift weights. A habit I started at 49.5. I lift weights as often as possible, but recently only about once a week. I lift heavy as I can, and push myself. I feel I look really great for 60, so far. My goal was beach body by June! 🤣🤣🤣🌊

Thank you for this! I just turned 70 and have been doing very low carb, mostly carnivore for almost 2 years. I dropped over 50 lbs but started having a heart issue in October, and the cardiologist put me on an anticoagulant. In 10 days I gained 10 lbs. I had other side effects but not the normal ones so they told me to stop taking it. I believe I have a reaction to SLS which is an excipient used to help make tablets. (the other big brand also has it). It is almost 4 months later and I still have not gotten rid of those 10 lbs. I needed to hear all of this because although I am very strong and more healthy than almost all of my neighbors in my community, and my dog and I make the rounds several times a day, it is time for me to take a look at a new gym that just opened. I looked at the scale but the price made me want to cry. If I get a decent tax refun it may be able to be done.

Perhaps one day develop a new Carnivore friendly food product, specifically refined ghee in an aerosol container, with a brand name of "Ghee Whiz") and; 2. Possibly develop a line of extremely weighted metal cutlery to make the dining process an actual part of one's excercise regimen.

I 68 and can't afford a gym but you've already given me lots of inspiration and as soon as we're done here I'm heading over to Coach Bronson's site to meet his mom :)

@@coach.bronson Oh of course not - I'm honored! Actually I was afraid I'd get bashed for using a term not sanctioned by the keto police, haha My definition of "careless" is not counting macros or ratios and occasionally eating something like cherries off my tree last summer :)

There’s a myth out there that says we don’t have to exercise on a keto/carnivore diet. Exercise is very important. I agree with Coach Bronson that it’s 50/50 nutrition and exercise. That has been my personal experience.

I´ve only ever heard that exercise isn´t necessary for weight loss on a keto/carnivore diet. I had a damaged Achilles Tendon when I first started and had trouble even walking, so I couldn´t exercise. I still lost over 200 lbs and have kept it off, but now that the tendon is healed, I enjoy walking/hiking and light weights a few times a week.

This interview spoke to me. I was keto almost 3 yrs then switched to ketovore with higher fat because I’m 51 and started getting the blues and just figured I’m heading into pre-menopausal and heard higher fat might help. I gained 7 pounds and was so 😡 but my feeling blue has decreased. So I really had to dig deep and is a number on the scale more important or me feeling happy again? I’ll take the happier me. Also I do exercise 3 days a week and lift heavy things so bone density and muscle gain could be why I’ve gained.

I am 6 weeks carnivore. I don’t weigh every day, but when I do, I get a morning weight and a night weight. I fluctuate 2 pounds between morning and night. Every time I weigh it’s only 2 pounds. I started at 188 and down to 177. I don’t fret on fluctuations. I’m working on eating enough and better sleep. Those two are big on how I feel and function for the day. :)

The most amazing thing I take from this video is about Bronson's mom. My mom is suffering several healthy issues, and I'm crazy to find out how to help her. Unfortunately, I can't just go to her right now and say: start eating only meat. But, what I will start doing right now is eating only meat, take a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, a full blood test and stick to carnivore diet 'till the end of the year, take all the tests again and compare the results. It will be to discuss with my mom's doctor and try to implement this diet to herself. I truly believe that this is the diet she needs to get rid with all her healthy issues and I will put my best on it. Thank you, Kelly and Coach Bronson for this amazing chat.

Carnivore 1 month in. I am a bodybuilder, I eat the same amount of calories on carnivore as I did previously as an omnivore. I lost 7lb and this forever changed my outlook on calories in calories out. I'm assuming I was mildly insulin resistant or had some sort of dysfunction in my body while being omnivore regardless of the fact that I was exercising.
I felt pretty under the weather on carnivore for the first 2 weeks, but I bumped up the calories and I still continued to lose weight while feeling amazing.
I usually sleep around 4 hours before waking up to go pee, now I wake up to pee after 5-6 hours.

I've been struggling with my weight and health over the past several years. I've tried carnivore / keto multiple times, but got frustrated when I didn't lose weight. So I'm back on keto / mostly carnivore. This time, I'm using my rowing machine first thing every morning. Hearing you two talk about the importance of mindset has made me realize I've self-sabotaged by weighing myself, rather than simply enjoying my state of health and trusting the process.

Kelly, I've watched your video's for a couple of years now. You are amazing in showing us what's possible and your gift of message in helping others do the same. I have kind of a different situation going on and could really use your suggestions. I'm 60ish, always been heavy (but very strong and able to move just fine) Then the wheels fell off when I had a pulmonary embolism, got on oxygen therapy, was put on Warfarin and told to take it easy and recover. Well, that put me in scared to death mode, (and what do I do when I stress....EAT) mode, the meds I take make me feel so bloated, fat, ugh. Here's the thing, Add "C" into the mix with nobody doing anything for 3 years now, I am COMPLETELY DECONDITIONED and I can barely move around the house. I can stand for 4 minutes, but then have to sit down. I can walk around my house as long as I know where the chairs are when I need to sit. It's like being in prison. I've tried exercising in my chair, I've tried adding more steps walking in place, yet it seems like I'm not making any headway. Each day I strive and I'm not going anywhere. Oh, I'm also doing keto/carnivore, but not losing hardly anything lately (but I did lose 50 pounds over 6 months). How in the heck can I help myself get stronger?? I feel like I'm missing a simple piece of this puzzle but I sure haven't been able to figure it out. Thank you so much..... and thanks to anyone who reads this and can offer advice.....

Sounds like you're doing great but will just have to keep at those few minutes of exercise to build up more stamina. Just like you didn't get that weak overnight, you won't get back into better shape overnight either. Your body went through a lot with the clots and recovery. Maybe if you had a place for swimming or water aerobics, it might help you enjoy longer times of exercise. Prayers for your strength and stamina to build back up. Keep up the good work!

Some people are not physically able to exercise. Yes, it can happen in time but I don't think they should be discouraged from *just* doing the nutrition approach first and then adding in exercise when they can. Just wanted to say - don't wait to start if you can't exercise just yet - just get going on nutrition first!
