@@haitolawrence5986 I hate when they do verse-no bridge-then a chorus like this : title of the song - another short line - title of the song sung the same way - another short line sung the same way as the other - verse - no bridge - chorus like I just explained - no build up to solo - solo - chorus till you puke. That AC/DC is really boring to me when I know that on many albums and songs when they are inspired, they really do more in the confines of the box they're in. They'll mix things up a bit, have a good bridge before the chorus, an imaginative intro who create a mood and a good build up before the solo explodes in your face. That AC/DC is magical. But anyway, still happy they're here and still put albums out. Legends.

I just reached the point that I can feed my cat on social security and a new AC/DC album is released. Turns out it's pretty damned good too. The worst part for me is worrying that with their long breaks between albums that this might be their last. There are two AC/DC, the AC/DC who exploit everything they have inside their box they're in with great build ups, some great bridges, some structures twists and lot of creativity to push their boundaries as much as they can in their box they put themselves in by being simple. That AC/DC can really create moods. You can hear that on Back in Black, Highway to Hell, Powerage and on songs like Razors Edge, Dogs of War, The Furor, For those about to Rock, Ride On.
And there are the uninspired AC/DC, who keep it really simple, on the edge of being dumb without any bridges, a really simple chorus and verses, You can find that AC/DC on Fly on the Wall, for example, where the songs have repetitive chorus (sing the title, have another line, sing the title the same way again, etc.) And that new record is like that. No creativity, just going the easy route, like Airborne does since their first record.

Been listening to their newest offering tonight, their 17th Album and OMFG it's like Back In Black 1980 all over again....12 tracks of pure unbridled AC/DC Rock n Roll (with swing). Back in Black was a tribute to Bon Scott. This monumental offering is a tribute of and by Malcolm Young who passed away too young back in 2017. There's been 11 albums in between BiB and Power Up, but this just brings it all back home to the ballsy, gutsy blues roots of yester year.....If this is the final outing for Angus, Brian, Cliff, Phil and Stevie then what a way to go out....On Top as befits a band of 50 years!!!

Probably the best most consistent album they have released since Flick of the Switch. I enjoy Power Up immensely.

Having heard this for quite some time now, I still love it. Great stuff. I too really liked Rock or Bust. It had the best production since FTATR for me, and there were a lot of cool grooves and shuffling riffs. This one has a bit of a more dangerous edge and less calculated feel, though. The most underrated has to be Code Red, Shot in the Dark remains the big FM staple type, Demon Fire is fun and fierce, Through the Mist of Time is pretty deep and commercial in an appealing way, and Witches Spell is fantastic. I also like the push and pull feel of Rejection and No Man's Land, and the Razor's Edge/Blow Up Your Video style of Realize. Mr. Rudd's simple but effective floor tom beats on Kick When Your Down backing that little blues lick by Angus really makes the song. The only track that I haven't clicked with is Systems Down, to the point that its the only song I didn't put into any my Foobar playlists. I say, if they still have more unused riffs of quality, make another!

just stumbled across your channel - loving it :-)
I'm into a lot of the stuff you like and from the same generation at a guess.
Queen, Sabbath, Priest, Heep, Springsteen, Bowie , AC/DC just a few of my favourites...mostly the older 70s stuff for me
Lizz,y Led Zep, Kate Bush, Dire Straits....
    so many!

Damn I needed this today. An old friend died this week at 52 from liver problems. Funeral was today and drove home with this cranked. RIP Kevin who was a great drummer. This is a fantastic AC DC disc.

Thanks, Pete! Longtime AC/DC fan here, too. Agreed on Brian sounding exceptional. Between he and Angus being over 70 years old, this is an amazing release. Major thumbs up on the production value also. Top notch mix which is solid, not over-compressed and allows the instruments to blast through with accurate in your face "THIS IS ROCK and ROLL" and sounds good on a mega dollar system or on headphones. Attention to detail A+

Great from start to finish, I went early this morning to get my copy. Realize is a great opener. Rejection is growing on me. Shot in the dark is great, through the mists of time is definitely romantic with an awesome chorus. Witchs spell is great. The guitar solo on systems down is awesome. Overall im very impressed I listened to it 4 times today. Brian sounds great and to think they would release another album or continue on with this classic lineup after the result of the rock or bust tour was very doubtful at the time.
Axl who? They had to finish the tour but I thought he was terrible and gave up my tickets on the arena leg after seeing them with Brian on the stadium portion of the rock or bust tour. Cant wait for the pwr up tour.

Since Ballbreaker, all their albums sound very much the same. Not sure what is so different about Brian Johnson’s voice. I’m happy they brought out an album, but it did not blow me away. For a truly great Johnson-era album, I would always pick one they made between ‘80-‘85. Always loved the terribly underrated Fly On The Wall... But hey, it’s still AC/DC, and I’m happy they are back.

This is in my opinion the best AC/DC album since Razor’s Edge. This is the first AC/DC album that I have been able to listen to from start to finish in decades. Grandfather rock at it’s peak.

Absolutley. I listened to Ballbreaker alot in the last few months and it has some really good songs like hard as a rock, the furor, burnin alive, hail caesar, and ballbreaker. I always thought that was an underrated album. Stuff upper lip has a few cuts, but black ice and rock or bust I really enjoyed. Pwr up is great, classic AC/DC all around.

It's fantastic, it's all we could hope for giving how late on in their career they are. I'm listening to it again this morning and it just gets better. I find it hard to get past Through The Mists of Time, my favourite track (listened to it 4 times in a row). Cliff's bass on this track is outstanding and it's this album's Money Talks or Anything Goes.

Have you thought of doing a top ten of unsung heroes i.e. bands and artist who you believe haven't received the commercial success or critical recognition they deserve? So, for example, I would put in this category Pendragon, Magnum and Stratovarius. Thanks guys.

I am a long time fan, since Razors Edge I have bought everything on the day of the release. I am totally in shock on how great album they put out, this is truly a statement for Malcolm and the legacy of AC/DC. Brian sounds the best he has for ages, the overall quality of the album is also the best for ages (great songs on all albums of course, but this collection of songs is the best in ages). Fantastic.
