Starsector: Smuggling is Fun.

- This isn't a tutorial as in "How to smuggle effectively", more of an "Episode 1".
Smuggling is one of the best ways to make money both early and midgame. If all you remember is one thing from this then all you need to know is keep your transponder on like a REAL PRO xXGamerXx - Ігри
Face-tanking a reaper when you have 360 degree shield coverage and no flux is what it's all about.

Yeah, my favorite money-making in the early game. Glad to see more star sector channels got recommended here. Bless algorithm.
Best way I found of making money is smuggling
Just legally
Since pirates have the single worst trade routes of any faction, they're always desperate for stuff.
Just buy a ton of drugs from TriTacyon, and sell it to the pirates, or whatever else you want to sell. Ecou Beres (if I spelt that right) and Culan has probably the highest production of commodities that are illegal in most systems.
TriTac is your best friend in the early game when it comes to getting high paying commodities. Sure you'll have to deal with tariffs when buying, but not selling, and sometimes pirates will buy for like 300% base cost so you can make well over 600k with around 1,000 drugs which is insane.
Smuggling is great, especially when you don't have to worry about the whole smuggling part.
Yup, that's what I do, I always buy everything on both markets at Echu Bres and sell to either pirates or pathers on the black market
Instructions unclear, broke into the pirate base with 500 marines and stole their drug to sell them to another pirate
00:00 That's some excellent selection of games to have
Thank you for this btw, the tutorial gives a lot of money. Heavy armaments smuggling is my best bet for money during the early game though. Low space, expensive, but has a high income if sold correctly, but also has high risk I had my 200 items got reduced to nothingness within 3 days.
Personally my perfect trade route is to buy drugs at Echu Bres then raid either a pirate base or Hegemony, depending how far I'm in the game, for heavy armaments
@@Stonecargo21 I never really tried doing raids, I'm afraid to bring down my reputation even though I could use story points. I like the pirates so im trying to keep my reputation quite high with them.
@@harshpotato8462 the only good way to raid bigger planets is with bombardments, after your first few capitals I recommend raiding the Hegemony for their massive amounts of surplus supplies, fuel, and goods
@@Stonecargo21 What parts should I raid?
@@harshpotato8462 heavy armaments in Kaptayn Starworks are the best way to grab some extra cash while on your smuggling route because the Pathers are most likely to have deficits of both drugs and heavy armaments on one planet
Kenshi, Project Zomboid, Starsector, Rimworld. Shut up and take my like!
it's crazy how the top-right of your desktop looks almost identical to mine, minus Oxygen Not Included and Starsector swapping places with People Playground
apogee's may be one of my favorite ships in the whole game, even after my HEAVY mod list. Really make up for that odd weapon mount placement with ridiculous flux reserves and crazy shields. early game they're good for exploring and late game shove hardened shields and tachyon lances on them and you're partying. best ship NA no contest.
definitely my favorite cruiser of mine
Need the locust srm, makes frigates trying to dodge-tank cry, especially kites/hounds
Such a cute protogen
TwT
Due to political reasons the Toaster has been thrown out the airlock, Hail the Sindrian Lion!
@@Stonecargo21 oh no!
Kenshi, Rimworld, PZ, and Starsector. You got good taste
Recently got addicted to Barotrauma too, also random person do you think I should make a video about Barotrauma? Everyone wants starsector and you commented on a starsector video but my next 2-4 weeks of effort go to your word
@@Stonecargo21 Barotrauma is also really good. I'm sure there'd be some people who'd like it
Ah damn, Of course there are protogen mods
Lol, actually put him in myself for discord stuff
The kite dodging the mining blaster made me laugh for the first time in 29 years. Nice.
The Apogee is so cool
excellent edits. Love it@!
God damn it, I just finished watching a portal video and now I’m hearing this music again 😂😂
You can't escape the radio
Tariffs are a affront to galactic society, or at least what’s left of it.
Edit: thank
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm a totally legal profession.
Pretty good
cool.
Nice commander pic
Uh, long story
Tbf those furry pfps fit nicely into the base game, gives a little bit more flavor to it
@@Tagarik the visor on protogens made me think of starsector so I added one, also tweeked a few more portraits for flavor
@@Stonecargo21 tragic story
@@lngbenn also fell down the dark path because of protogens, I assume?
Do you know what the name of the music in 2:10 ? It sounds very familiar I forgot where it came from...
Coconut Mall
hey i saw you on Bryeins stream
Saw you too, that was way too long
Wait a minute, what are the chances you find me?
Kenshi? 👀
What weapon is the green laser?
Tactical laser, it's a decent weapon but there's definitely better
Ahhhh. Thank you. Just got into the game and am trying to figure out combat now. I'm on the way to understanding the economics of the game.
@@Flhistoryman remember to press F1 over goods to see market info, like the best place to sell and buy
@@Stonecargo21 will do
Excuse me what why is there a protogen when I'm watching a star sector video what
They seem to be popping up more often these past few months, wonder why
@@Stonecargo21 they have been regardless for the past few years
hey what was that music? it sounds familiar
the portal radio theme
Very not cool.
MY GOD, YOU DO NOT LEARN NAVIGATION SKILL AND NOT USING TRANSVERSE JUMP INTO SYSTEM IS JUST USELESS. LEARN SENSORS IF YOU DON"T USE TRANSVERSE JUMP
It costs like 400 supplies to jump in or out
@@Stonecargo21 what? no. if you're using transverse jump in hyperspace and you want to jump into a system then its free. It's even stated in description of "Transverse Jump". But if you want transverse jump into hyperspace from system then it will cost you supplies and reduce your Combat Readiness. It's all in the description
@@user-xu9go9bm2v I'll double check then, but I really can't be bothered with traverse jump when I am exploring because of clicking it every time and the 5 second wait
@@Stonecargo21 Trust me, it saves a ton of supplies and fuel and this is especially noticeable when exploring
@@user-xu9go9bm2v I tend to have around 4000-7000 supplies on me at all times, and the long animation feels slower even though it isnt
