This is the video that got Squalls nerfed and the Conquest being removed from Sindrian Diktat fleets. Yes, that means a Conquest with an undersized broadside was partially responsible for the faction’s nerfing.
Looking back on it I'm really annoyed at myself for having such weak fights and this being my best performing video, I need to revisit this subject and make a proper Midline fleet that can handle at least a sub-ordo, huh? midline has both best destroyers in the game sunder and hammerhead, cheap, realible and packs a punch, frigates and battleships are confused about what they are suposed to be. but destroyers and cruises are da best. Fleet of a champion(my commandship) 6 pirate falcons (for officers) and small swarm of sunders/hammerheads is able to tear down anything in the game Also zomboid, kenshi and rimworld, I tip my hat to you, one nerd to another
@@jackochainsaw eagle suucks, to weak to be heavy cruiser and to slow to be light cruiser. Can't stop enemy asalut like dominator and can't catch destroyers like falcon. And since champion was added eagle has no place in my fleet even as fairly fast heavy cruiser. Only thing it can do is long range support but I can get 5 wolves to do it with better effects.
@@xzardas541 *Me after slapping SO, 3 HMGs, 2 Phase Lances and an Ion Beam on my Eagle, after having run a similar build on the Falcon - press X to doubt.* Seriously though, this thing can slap Swarms of Frigates (1 vs 6-8 in my tests), Groups of Destroyers and 1v1 any other Cruiser. The Dominator with Twin Gauss Cannons gives it some trouble but if you can Flameout or EMP his Engines and get behind him, he is dead meat. Though admittedly it takes a while to chew through the Armor, even with the Lances. That being said I will agree that if I dont have anything smaller to spare, I will just deploy my Falcon (outfitted the same way -1 HMG and no Ion Beam) and it will just Flex the Zooms on any non SO Frigate. Which in Vanilla I am yet to see any non Pather ship use SO, soo yeah. On a side note - Having 5 Wolves which are supposed to be fast and Agile As Fuck ships for Long Range Support sounds like a Terrible waste, when 1 Eagle kitted out accordingly will do the same job but for 4 less Ships in your fleet, and slightly less DP cost (25 DP/Supplies per Deployment on Wolves vs 22 on a Single Eagle), which gives you room for Falcons or Sunders or hell even Wolves for the jobs that require you to be Extra Zoomy, or anything else you might want, like a couple more Champions! This is rapidly getting way and way bigger than I thought it would be. But I am increasingly finding that in this Game, Any Ship and Any Weapon can be Made to Work, if not on Its Own than with the help of other Ships in a Fleet. That is why Fleet Composition past Early-Game is gradually more and more important. Since even if each individual ship you have sucks, and has a bad loadout for its class. It can still be made to work by the presence of other ships that cover its weaknesses. Though naturally capitalizing on strengths of less poor Builds should (and usually is) more potent. But at the end of the day its a Sandbox and we dont always have the Specific Things we want in this game, so anyone can make do with anything if they really want to.
Also for the Record - that Eagle build, was born, out of me wanting my Falcon to be slightly beefier and have better Flux Stats since some of the heavier enemies like the Dominator and the Space Stations were giving me Trouble. I still have the Falcon as the Backup-Flagship and use both to Zoom Around the Battlefield trying to apply pressure and pick off some enemies quickly to tip the balance in my Favor, while my Line of Long Range Eagles, Hammerheads and a Pair of Sunders, keep the enemy busy. Though often after I chew something up in a particular area of the Fight, they just start ganging up on everything that is left while I am on my way to reinforce the other side of the field.
@@Shedovv "Put SO on it" You know that this kinda invalidates anything you write after that phrase. Sure Eagle with SO becomes 10 times stronger, so does champion, or falcon or dominator. As soon as the other ships also gets SO eagle goes back to sucking. You say eagle with SO will rape dominator from behind. All nice and well, but Dominator with SO will do the same to any other ship in the game SO or not. Energy based ships are not that good for SO since energy weapons do not synergise well with it meanwhile dominator with unlimited balistic mounts will tear apart doritos, something that SO eagle can not do. Problem with eagle is that for it's DP cost there is allways better ship. PS: Falcon also sucks SO or not only good falcon is pirate Falcon loaded with hammers, blowing up anything it looks at.

As a Conquest main running Mjolnirs and Storm Needlers this video speaks to me on a spiritual level. Kinda sad you didn't put them on the same ship though, since Storm Needlers are secretly the ultimate support weapon for hard countering some of Conquest's biggest weaknesses
i like that you are using 2 squalls and 2 mirv launchers on 2 ships, i did notice with them firing at the same time it was overwhelming pressure. i have seen others put guns only on one side of the conquest for each ship have them mirrored so they don't get in each-others way, i probably would also have the launcher set to alternate so it keeps more constant pressure than having a long reload for both.
Out of all of the midline ships, I think the Valkyrie could do with some serious buffs. It's hardly better than a mudskipper currently, despite the description (and the ground support modifier) making it seem like a mini conquest.
I started out building a midline fleet, and now that I've conquered the sector, I can't even play high tech or anything else. The Conquest's broadside attacks just can't be beaten. I recommend using the locusts as well. Few things are as beautiful as the sight of 80 rockets swarming the battlefield clearing away everything smaller than a buffalo.
I never thought of using locusts like that, I was instead using 10 drovers with all piranha bombers I wonder how many locusts will actually be able to destroy a cruiser
@@Stonecargo21 the locust damage may be lacking, but when you're specc'd for missiles and have expanded racks, two locust pods totals 3600 rockets for the whole fight. 720,000 frag damage, 0 flux cost.
I don't feel this shows midlines being strong it seem to show how weak they tend to be in straight up fights (especially the conquest). They tend to be fine for filling gaps in your fleet but they don't preform to the level of high tech ships and can't hold down like low tech ships (it took 2 conquests + other chaf to overcome an onslaught).
yup, I plan on remaking this video with some stronger builds since conquests arent as strong as most other capitals. im thinking more fighters and destroyers with the conquests as long range support, definitely some monitors as well
It's about learning to use the maneuvering jets, without using them constantly and timing to make sure you can get out the conquest is pretty bad, also using shields for anything that's not high damage missles is a deathtrap
I liked the first clip, and was let down by the rest. It devolved into just situations where more/bigger ships shoot at something and ship systems weren't seeing use. I was really hoping to see midline ships doing something cooler.
Yup, couldn't really get good footage of that because Midline is mostly a filler category when you get to higher tier enemies because being unspecialized means it isn't as powerful. So yeah, fair I'll probably do another video on the topic, trying out more strategies other then more conquests because I really want them to work well
@@Stonecargo21 I recommend to make a conquest with only weapons for one side(for ai). I used hypervelocity and gauss with a locust and mirv and a ion beam. 50 vents and capacitors with flux coil adjunct, hardened shields. I have ITU as a s-mod but also have efficiency overhaul as a normal mod so if you don't want to waste a story point remove that and add the ITU and removing some capacitors to make up the extra points it needs. I also have 2 harpoon pods but that can be changed with sabots to. Overall this is a ship I don't have to keep a eye on when it fights it makes the most of it's range and can easily retreat when it needs to, flux is easy to manage to.(not recommended against radiants without decent support backing it up learned that the hard way lol)
Oh you poor soul, Midline was not intended for being your primary fleet composition as you can tell with the *high tier enemies* I am fighting. May I recommend Mjolnir cannons for the conquest though, and after making the video I found out it's best to mostly ignore using the conquests shields once you are in range to fire all your weapons, sort of like how you pilot an onslaught
@@Stonecargo21 yea, and some times they don't have benefits, the conquest for example. It has to little flux for it's weapons and little armor. I literally just modded it and gave it better stats

My favorite mod adds a high-tech odyessy that is only a broadside capital, it is great. Back on midline ships tho, the midline have the best destroyer in my opinion, the hammerhead, sunder, champion, and Dover are all A tier ships.

Try ECCM on Conquest. See those MIRV's gain aimbot hacks and all hit their mark, it's insane.

At first, I think conquest is weak and weird. Until I slap heavy armor, Mjolnirs, Harpoons missiles, and twin squalls MLRS. Oh man, That wrecks.
