I’ve done a lot of re-rolling, and I can safely say that the Atlas staff can drop between 7000 and 16,000 on the damage potential,without super charge coming into play buffing it. So anyone who did not pay attention while getting their 4 supercharge slot, might end up with a not so, godly. God roll. And it is definitely rare to see it up around 16,000. On average you’ll see it between nine or 10,000. So there’s definitely a percentage chance running in the background every time you reroll. You’re definitely more likely to see the lower end of the numbers when rerolling. Nothing concrete to back this up, besides hours of re-rolling. As I’m playing on console. PS what a great video!!

I suspect that base stat is more relevant (and with Xaine's research into greater and lesser bonus from adjacency in mind), most layouts may be misleading. I hadn't thought about the rock shooting to test damage numbers though, that's an excellent tip! Also, as long as you are good about keeping your stun grenades in play, using an SC slot for your voltaic damage booster is going to give you more damage than parking an upgrade in the slot.

i thought supercharge slots were always just a literal multiplier. you hunted for the best base stats AND slot layout. i`ve hunted down many square multitools but without good base stats even a poor layout can beat it if the stats are better. also thank you for educating me on the best layout as i had thought square ruled. "sigh" now i have to go back and search all the multi`s i ignored thinking their slot layout was inferior lol.

@@ScottishRod so i just picked up the jusotsk you just posted and made some comparisons with the sentinel pistol and rifle i currently use. i used the rifle for boltcaster and pistol with scatter blaster, both are square with base stats of 483.3 (same as yusotsk). i`ll discount the pistol because the end potential was slightly less than the rifle even though it had the same initial 483.3 to start. interesting right? that just leaves the square rifle v`s diamond jusotsk. here`s the comparison with the three weapons i use. boltcaster :- rifle 39.3k - jusostsk 36.5k. splatter :- rifle 51k - jusotsk 37k. neutron :- rifle 135.5k - jusotsk 187k. even more fascinating right lol? i`m gonna hunt down a T slot sentinel i had previously with 483.3 base. think it might be the best configuration of all. will let you know.
so update........i`m more confused than ever lol. firstly big news when moving modules around i found the neutron cannon package isn`t the best for a SC slot, the p-field compressor is better. it buffs the score on the rifle from 135.5k to 164.8k. finally, i got a T shaped slot sentinel rifle with a base start of 483.3. these are the results :- boltcaster - 37.7k / scatter - 48.3k / neutron - 158.6k. i`m so lost lmao.
@@WILL_RHON I'd be more curious what your damage numbers are when you shoot a rock? Then alter the layout and shoot again? I may try that this weekend. I do have the one save editor (GoatFungus, I think?) and the Sentinel rifle that people were pointing to on the one planet in the expedition (Ognan/Makuma) does have a 49.something base damage stat. I choose poorly on my Atlas staff and it's crap. :D

@ScottishRod nope. It switches to mining for minerals after adding that tech but all the others I have installed, only the laser one works. So I have all the tech installed and only mining and laser works. Odd
Why does it say mukti tool tech overloaded when i try and out 3 s class neutron cannons ? Can you only have 2 lots of an s class boost per weapon type, scanner etc?
I also see folks with multi-tools with loads of amounts of mods on their mult-tool is this a PC mod or something I think I see this with starships aswell?
Every time i go anywere the supercharged slots are not even nearly in rhe same place ships multitools you name it it doesnt matter my slots are different from any video i got to so all the slots have been randomized for sure or something really weird is going on with my game
@@ScottishRod nah shit is al randomized man i had luke 20 items ships and multitools some of them needed to have all those supercharged slots together and not a single one has the same slots on amy of the items i couldnt get 1 identical item out of all the videos of multiple youtubers i went threw . Its not you guys doing anything wrong i just get the feeling everything got randomized somewere in the last few patches or something ... really if i have 20 to 30 items and not a single one drops for me exactly the same as you all been showing on youtube ... on top of that im no noob either im a returning player and very well know how it worked back in the day just trying to finnaly figure out now if supercharged slots got randomized for each player or not . Because 10 people can go to the same ship now and all get different slots so that would mean you can throw the supercharged slots out of the freaking door when making videos as it makes no sense to mention you found one with all 4 slots together

I did a few rolls myself and to have the base damage limit confirmed by someone else is very useful. :-)

@@ScottishRod no it's for the scatter blaster I had 2x X mods and 1x S mod and removed my shell greaser mod for an S mod and I get tech overload

@@julianpollock5323 it could be an update bug, you should be fine. Not sure about a PC mod but it’s likely.
Shell greaser does not count for overload. It's like barrel ionizer for boltcaster.
my multi tool for the first one is different. It's pistol shaped and has very few upgrade spots....

Bases sometimes don’t load unfortunately you might have to use the planet coordinates.
I tried both of these and I can't see the bases or the places where the tools are
That happens from time to time after updates. A planet reload sometimes helps but you might use the planet coordinates.

Just follow coordinates and you Will get there,just found first one thanks to that ^^
The base didn't load until I was right on top of it, but use the coordinates inside your ship and you can find it without a nav marker
