I love Fat Pop and everything I have heard so far! My new favorite (old) artist now. 🙂
He’s my favourite of all time. The thing you notice is when you see him live is the number of young people who dig him. Discovering him in a way I’m jealous you’ve so much fantastic music to discover. If possible I’d try to just digest one album at a time. Wild wood is gorgeous certainly in my top 10 albums of all time

I always get very nostalgic about my beginnings in the VC when I see these vinyl tags. I have lost count of how many I have done but even before I started making videos, this was my favorite video to watch. You showed some great records and Mazzy sent you some beauties. Take care.

'If you could be on (or a part of) one record cover in your collection, which one would it be and why'?
Also I had a thought about the dinner table invite kind of question so you could do any kind of time machine variant.
EG If you could get in a time machine and go back n see 3 concerts, which one would they be and why?
If you could go back in time n buy 3 original records which one etc.
If you could go back and relive one years music as it happens from 1964, 74, 84, 94 which year and why?

Hey Rob, Happy New Year...I've been watching a fair old few of the 22 vinyl tags before your own, and whenever the space themed question came up, I kept saying to myself, oooh if I posted a video, it would be Public Service Broadcasting's Race For Space for sure, so what a nice surprise to finally see it on your own video! I love that record, I only picked it up last year, after it was showcased on Steve Lamacq´s 6 Music show. Cheers mate!

@@robwalkerletthemusicplay I know Rob, I would like to one day, but my problem right now is that half of my record collection is in Scotland and the other half is here in Mexico...I'm even still regularly buying records that get shipped to Scotland (new releases and box sets mainly) and I haven't even seen a load of them, let alone play them, as I haven't been back to the UK since pre-pandemic...its all rather complicated! I do look forward to the day though when the 2 collections combine! Cheers!

Hi don happy new year ! .. you can never get the perfect tag questions make them to easy people complain make them too difficult they say it’s too hard .. the hat trick question is also my favourite. The thing with the tag is that for some people it’s the first one they’ve done Plus sometimes it’s their introduction to the vc .. I’ve seen dans questions and some of them are excellent. I’m pleased that quite a few people have responded already it’s only when people do the tag that you know how it works.. I look forward to your response👍..

Gotta thank you for bringing up Remote Control. I was absolutely obsessed with that album when I was younger, before I gave up my record collection. Jumped back into the world of owning vinyl a year ago. I gave my old records to my brother, who gave them to my sister, who has given me some back recently. Hope this one makes it’s way back to me.

Alright Rob! Thanks for rolling out the 2023 vinyl tag! I've seen great participation already. I was thinking to myself how it's not all that easy to come up with a list of generic, all-inclusive prompts year after year. You're doing a very good job at this. I'm planning to jump on board again this year as soon as I can. Just need to find the time to get it done. I'm kicking myself at ditching my cassettes years ago. I'll see if there's some way I can wrangle something to answer the trifecta question. Happy New Year Rob!

The first Bryan Ferry album is a great covers album and I get why you like it so much.
Can't really argue with those Costello albums, I love Armed Forces in particular.
Shocking how many artists we lost in 2022.
Never liked later day Blondie/ Debbie Harry.
The Wet Leg album is very catchy pop, I understand why they have a wide appeal.
Well done for getting Metal Box, mate of mine had it and I was always envious.
Great choice with Solid Air..John Martyn didn't do a bad album throughout the 60s and 70s.
Jailbreak is one of my all time favourites and the Band are excellent.

I found my way here through other VC videos ... i recorded a tag of my own today - my first video , so thanks for the inspiration (not uploaded yet) I just watched your original video and realised you are a Manc same as myself , and then through some more online sleuthing (looking at your instagram) 😂 i think we livenot to far from one another... i live at the bottom of Hartshead Pike in Park Bridge , and i am assuming your the other side in Mossley somewhere ... might bump into one another at a record store sometime soon!
My hope is to open a shop in Tameside in the next few years ... i nearly did it this year but the time isnt right yet!

I’ll subscribe to you and add your video to a playlist on my channel.. the guys in the vc from the uk meet up occasionally and go to record fairs etc. Tameside needs a record shop for sure. sounds good! i spend most of my time in reel around the fountain records in stretford as i am friendly with the owner and run the shop now and again when he goes to watch city play, i have yet to go to any fairs since i was a kid so id be up for that.

Hi Rob. Some good questions this year, some of which were a bit of a challenge to answer. I spent quite a bit of time this afternoon trying to track down the CD to answer question 4. I'll hopefully get my response posted in the next couple of days, and then I can settle back and see what other people have been posting ... A good varied selection from you. I certainly wasn't expecting you to show Queen, the Tubes and John Martyn ... I must listen to the Orielles. I'm intrigued ... I can't argue with your choice of Elvis Costello. I've played 'My Aim Is True' a few times this year ... We lost so many great artists in 2022. Terry Hall and Martin Duffy on the same day was a shock ... I love that Public Service Broadcasting LP. I was lucky enough to see them play in a small pub gig early on, and had a chat with J Willgoose , Esq. I've just picked out 'The War Room' and 'Inform Educate Entertain' for a listen. I have not heard of The Orioles except the 50's Doo Wop group by that name. The three album run by Elvis Costello was my first thought and then you showed it. I will have to check out Wetleg and Palace as they sound like artists that I would like. Thanks for providing the tag.

Happy New Year Rob 😀🍿🍺🎉🎶 Some excellent choices there bud; I saw The Cure last month at the Hydro; Glasgow and they were superb; ‘Seventeen Seconds’ is my second fav album by them. I agree EC’s first 3 albums are all home runs; I don’t know if you listened to his to date album ‘The Boy Named If’; but it really took me by surprise and was high up on my end of year album list; really enjoyed it! We did sadly lost some great musicians in 2022; I do want to pick up a couple of early Specials albums; as I only have The Colourfield debut album in regards to Terry Hall; who never be forgotten.
I didn’t get round to The Orielles’ latest album; but do quite their stuff; they of course come from my hometown Halifax where I’m originally from. I need to give Super Furry Animals more time to; same with Inspiral Carpets! Excellent first video of 2023 bud; hope you have a fantastic new year Rob 😊👍

Loved your Vinyl Tag and I've been pondering for weeks to do a video of your questions.
Trouble is I'm terrified and also moved homes so much I've had cut down on Vinyl and replacing with Cd's for space !
So the question is can I show Cd's that even one time I had on Vinyl.
I do have some Vinyl, so it's not all bad !

Hi Simon happy new year! last year veteran vc people were saying it’s too easy. I’ve tried to make the questions interesting enough that peoples videos are interesting. Plus you have to remember for some people this will be their first tag .. I hope you jump in and get involved. 👍..
