You’ve made Nick a happy man and restored his faith 😂 I love that Tourist album, I saw them on that tour at Portsmouth Guildhall, excellent. I never heard or seen that Human League album, horrible album cover. Really excellent haul Rob, amazing what people let go of at car boots. Mike
Hi mike boot sale are hit or miss though generally this years been pretty good . That dury find was a good one for sure thanks for watching and commenting Mike 👍.
Hi Rob - Methods of Dance and Miles Davis look amazing. Funny, I just saw Vinyl Richie show that Mister Yellowman record. You found lots of great things. I went to a yard sale on the weekend, and all I saw was a box of awful records 😔
Hi Brian sometimes you find nothing but if you keep going the law of averages suggests you’ll have some good days .. I didn’t watch Ritchie video he has mentioned it to me in the comments😀. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi Brian , as I said the beauty of car boot sales is that you never know what you’ll find, that means sometimes you find nothing. When I visit shops or record fairs I find what I’m looking for but that comes at a price . I couldn’t believe I found that yellow man in such great condition snd I’ve always fancied a copy of the first human league album. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Excellent reggae finds, Rob. Yellowman and Lee Perry are great pick ups for a quid. You’ve gotta love a car boot sale! Happy hunting this weekend. I’ll be out in the morning hoping to find something half decent. 👍
Thanks for showing your finds Rob. Saw you post that Yellowman on IG and didn’t know anything about it, then saw Richie feature it. Gives you hope there is something out there. You know I love a bargain. Cheers.
that Methods of Dance comp is classic. Used to see it in the import bins here in California quite a bit (I bought it the first time I saw it). Love the Talking Book album. I love all of Stevie's albums from around that time period. That Human League album is classic (along with Travelogue). I think that Heaven 17 ended up being more consistent than the Human League... The Tourists were an incredible band. It is a shame that there hasn't been a proper CD reissue campaign featuring loads of bonus tracks (but I guess Annie/Dave have blocked that from happening). I thought the Guillemots were an interesting band - I have a few CDs by them as well as a coupla solo albums from Fyfe Dangerfield. That Silver Sun single is fantastic. Great band. Ah, The Normal! Daniel Miller was a synthpop pioneer! I also loved the album he recorded under the name Silicon Teens. Great haul, Mr. Walker.
Hi Stephen I thought a few of these records would interest you . In the early 80s there we’re many great samplers and virgin were one of the best labels along with its subsidiary dindisc… I also enjoyed heaven 17 penthouse and pavement is one I’m always going back to .. thanks for watching and commenting it’s appreciated 👍🇺🇸
Hi Rob, thanks for sharing your finds. As a fellow 'car booter' I always enjoy seeing what people are finding to help me keep the faith and keep getting out of bed. The Brasil record looks nice. Mister Yellowman and Lee Scratch Perry are great finds! some nice 12s & 7s too. Cheers Dale
Hi dale. I really enjoyed sharing my finds from yesterday as a whole this year has been a good one despite the wet July / august . As you know part of the fun Is the not knowing.. I need to show some more expensive records I’ve picked up this year maybe that will be my next video .. cheers dale 👍
Some great finds Rob! That Human League album… Wow! 😳 2023 brilliant year for brilliant women pop smiths, both a Goldfrapp AND a new Róisin Murphy album!
Wonderful pick ups! Love Goldfrapp and that miles Davis and Human League albums are great finds. I think the artwotk for a lot of the 90s maxi 12 inch singles are fantastic. That Folklore Brazilian lp looks very interesting. Thanks for sharing your latest finds.
Hi. I was delighted to find that goldfrapp 12inch as records like that aren’t easy to find. As I said the beauty of car boot sales is that you never know what you’ll find sometimes you go home empty handed fortunately yesterday wasn’t one of those occasions. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Hey Rob nice haul, love that Stones period, I try and pick up RS 12ers" whenever I can, keep an eye out for Too Much Blood...Mick at his most ludicrous best!!! Also Miss You 12" on pink or red vinyl another good one, cheers mate
Hi John miss you is one of my favourite stones tracks I’d love to have it on 12inch .. I’m in the minority but I love that period of the stones catalog. thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Hi Arnaldo, Sundays trip went better than expected. Usually that human league debut would be £10/15 in the uk .. £1. Was crazy! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Hi Rob, I love a good car boot sale video. Thanks for doing this one. The finds you can get are completely random aren't they. I've not seen that Virgin sampler before. Nice. Ian Dury on original Stiff is all you need. Don't you dare discard of that one Rob. It's too good not to keep. Mister Yellowman! You lucky bugger. The last boot sale I went to there was a man with a box of dance 12 inches, you know the stuff that club DJs have. He was asking for a pound each but I just know nothing about that type of music so I didn't look too much at them. That Huan League album is a nice find. It is a distasteful cover I agree, particularly with this weeks headline story in the news. :-( Some people hey?! All in all I'd say you got some great stuff there Rob. I've got a few boot sale pickups in recent weeks that I need to show, although to be honest I haven't had time to listen to them all yet. Cheers
Hi John I love watching car boot videos and this year you’ve struck gold a few times . As you know the trick is not to get disheartened if you don’t find much . If you keep going records will find you and when they do it makes it all worth while .. thanks for watching and commenting john 👍
You got some nice finds mate. Especially post 1990s - stuff which doesn't come up often.....and RSD cheap. Goes to show people queue for it, buy it and probably don't play them. Dubstar I remember a big hit called ' I'm not so manic now '.
Hi Martin . It was a pleasant surprise to find 90s 12inches for £1 .. you never know at boot sales . Yesterday was a good one for sure .. yes I’m not so manic nos was a big hit 👍. Thanks for watching 😃
Only ever seen that Human League LP in person once before and funnily enough that was at a carboot sale. I left it and picked up a german press ZZ TOP hits type album instead. I might take a walk around Huntingdon carboot sale this sunday,I've generally been quite lucky there 👍👍👍 Will hopefully be taking a drive down to the Reading record fair next month.....not done a record fair for a while . Great finds Rob.....the Ian Dury 12" was obviously the pick of the bunch 😁😁😁
Hi nick car boots are always worth a visit. Sometimes you come home empty handed but generally I find something ! Yeah I love that Ian dury 12inch. Thanks for watching 👍
Some fantastic stuff there Rob. That Ian Dury 12” is great. My 12” Grail is ‘What A Waste’..which is impossible to find. Not a fan of Jazz, ‘Sketches Of Spain’ is a favourite. Yellowman is decent, Vinyl Ritchie just showed it. I’m all in on ‘Warm Leathrette!’
I think the Mister Yellowman is a steal. Nice Lee "Scratch" Perry find as well. I picked up that Tourists album recently as well. Some great singles too.
Hi randy I was overdue showing some of my car boot finds . Sundays finds were so well priced and to find reggae in such good condition is a rarity thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Hi Rob. This was like the old days when I first discovered the vinyl community and always looked forward to your videos from car boots. Some nice finds, especially the 'Sex & Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll' 12-inch (I don't recall ever even seeing that when it first came out). Earlier today I was watching a great clip on BBC Archive from 'Nationwide' in the late-70s of Ian Dury ... Some nice 7-inch 45s too, especially the Mekons.
Hi Carl I’m going to try to do more finds videos .. I’ve some pricey items to show next .. I can’t remember seeing that Ian dury 12inch before I couldn’t believe it was only a pound .. thanks for watching and commenting Carl 👍
@@robwalkerletthemusicplay I'm gearing up to show some vinyl finds too. It has been over 2 years since I've shown any. I've been finding a steady trickle of LPs in charity shops in recent months - usually for £1 or less. Nothing particularly valuable, but all of some interest ... I'll keep a look-out for more vinyl finds videos from you. All the best.
Hi Rob, I have a CD reissue of "Sketches of Spain" among many others Miles Davis selections. The cover art is different on mine. That Bossa Nova compilation looks great, and I would have grabbed it too. That cover art on that Human League album is very odd. Goldfrapp! I've never seen her in the vinyl community until your video today. I have my original of that Roxy Music EP. It's very good. ✌
Hi mike yeah that roxy music is a ep not a album but I’ve albums shorter than 27 minutes.. I’ve shown goldfrapp a few years ago. Electronic dance music. Well worth a listen. Thanks for watching and commenting mike 👍
I have to admit i would love to find the Human League album you just fetched. I really love Human League'sDare that i was lucky to get ahold of in Old Spitalfields Market on a trip to the UK in 2019.
Hello 👋 That compilation record Methods of Dance is interesting. You mentioned Magazine being on it. That's a group i liked back in the late 1970s/ early 80s. They had their own unique style. Shot from both Sides , and The Light pours out of Me are classic songs of theirs. I saw Miles Davis in concert in the 1980s here in New Zealand where i live. It was around the time of his Tutu album release . Can't beat a Stevie Wonder record. I like Human League, I've heard that cover of the Righteous Brothers. The Tourists didn't chart here in NZ like they did in the UK. But the Eurythmics were huge. I like Roxy Music , I'm listening to their album from 1974 Country Life alot lately. Its excellent. Good 👍 finds.
Hi Carl I’m a big fan of magazine I’ve really been getting into them recently. The correct use of soap being the one that’s on my turntable more than any other . Love Roxy music and Bryan ferry I have so many records by them. Thanks for watching 👍
Nice singles and that Methods of Dance comp looks great. Miles for 2 pounds!! Score. Lee Scratch Perry is a rare sighting at used shops. Those 7s are really good finds too - Normal, Wedding Present!
