Thanks Richard, one of the few benefits of Alex living in London is its a good opportunity to do some serious record shopping in the capital.. and as I mentioned the prices generally are fair. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi Rob. Congrats on 2000 subs. I always thought ‘Promised Land’ was below average ..but it led me to Joe Smooth’s version, which was one of the tracks that switched me in to house & finally bin off the guitar stuff. I’ve never seen that Weddoes 12”? But all the tracks on that are fantastic. Yeah I’m amazed how reasonable Reckless is considering it’s in one of the most expensive square miles in Europe! Great shop & nice staff..I find Sister Rays staff a bit moody at times especially when I’ve sold to them!
Thanks harris 2k is a nice milestone I’m still enjoying making videos and connecting with people this is still great fun .. I really need to continue to take advantage of Alex living in London it’s the perfect excuse to explore some record shops in the capital.. it looks like Southampton are on the verge of gate crashing the championship promotion party!👍⚽️. I certainly hope yourselves and Ipswich are promoted 🎉. Thanks for watching 😀

Good shopping Rob, that's the second Greenwich haul I've seen this week, the other being 6inch John. I haven't bought records in London for over 20 years, it was Rough Trade but I can't remember what I got. I had a friend and an ex-girlfriend in Hackney many moons ago. Cheers, James
Hi James … London has so many great record shops .. the fact that my son has a good size collection and enjoys visiting records shops makes these trips to London even more enjoyable 👍
Hi Rob. Congratulations on passing 2,000 subscribers! ... Glad to hear you had a good time in London ... The Wedding Present music from the 1980's never seems to date. I love the choppy guitar sound, which so many of the Leeds indie bands seemed to have ... I love 'The Odd Couple'. The look on Walter Matthau's face as Jack Lemmon tries to clear his sinuses in the restaurant is comedy gold ... I've not got anything by Triptides, but I am on the look out for anything by them if it's at a good price. They've released stuff on record labels I respect, most notably Curation ... The greatest find for me is Elvis Costello on the cover of Look In.
Hi ..I saw the album the hop for £ 12 at a record fair today. I was tempted but I left it behind.. maybe a mistake because I don’t see it very often .. it’s such a great sounding single .. thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Sounds like you had a great mooch around Rob. That McEnroe soundtrack/Felix White sounds like a cross between Jean Michel Jarre and various 80s Indie bands, love the Genius track. A decent Talk Talk live double LP is something the world needs. Congrats on the 2K subs 👍
Hi Stevie .. that McEnroe album was in the sale , I think it’s only £10 on Amazon which is a bargain ..getting to 2k subscribers hasn’t been easy .. I won’t buy mine so I have to be patient .. thanks for watching 👍

Well done on cracking the 2k! I’m seeing Theatre of Hate later on today (I’m watching this just after midnight). Small-ish venue in the other place on the south coast that isn’t Portsmouth 😂 I picked up a reissue of that Fela Kuti recently, looks like yours is early press? Map Room sound really interesting and I love the way you described the McEnroe soundtrack, just my thing. All in all great trip to London Rob. Mike
Hi Mike yes that fela is original and I got some good discount in that shop which I didn’t ask for so that was nice, maybe it was because I was paying in cash .. congratulations on becoming champions of league 1 Mike it’s been totally deserved 👍⚽️. Have a great record store weekend Mike 👍
Hi Rob - I was in Sister Ray twice last week , always interesting to see people visiting London shops and what they make of them. Haven't been to Spitalfields for a while so perhaps a visit there. Glad you had a good trip
Hi Graham .. I had a great Easter exploring those records shops with Alex I’ll certainly be visiting more later in the year .. thanks for watching Graham 👍
Happy 2K Rob! Nice to see Curtis hanging out too! Nice 12" single of Promised Land. I used to love The Wedding Present, but never had any back in the day unfortunately. That weekend with your son Alex sounds terrific. All the key elements for a good time. Records, beer, and food. I think Billy Duffy was in Theatre of Hate, but I could be wrong on that. I have a copy of Brotherhood that you showed. Picked that up way back when it was first released. I like the old magazine! Very cool! Beautiful Talk Talk record! I bet that sounds great. ✌
Hi Mike … Curtis is usually around when I’m filming he’s finally getting more used to things after my other cat Holly had to be put to sleep just after Christmas .. we’re debating wether to get another cat my daughter keeps mentioning it .. Hi Rob. In Nov 2022, I had a day in London between two gigs on consecutive nights (Sigur Ros in Brixton followed by Porcupine Tree in Wembley) and spent some of the afternoon wandering around Soho and the handful of record stores there. Then, this time last year, I saw the Flaming Lips in Hammersmith. That's where I was born, though only spent a few years there. I spent the next morning wandering around the Ladbroke Grove/Petticoat Lane area (Notting Hill), where Rough Trade West and a few other stores are. Small but nice haul both times
I still collect Morrissey releases, but I sure do miss the excitement that his earlier releases generated! Love the Style Council... but not a big fan of that "Promised Land" song, to be honest. YAY for The Truth - classic single! Big Theatre of Hate/Spear of Destiny fan here! Good scores all around, Rob!

Also when you get to a certain age its brilliant because they have a toilet as well! In that part of London there are so many hidden record shops, they seem to shoot up like mushrooms on a wet day. Glad you had a good trip, cheers!
Hi , I agree with your friendly comment I picked up that vibe from the locals who popped in regularly on my visit .. thanks for watching and commenting it’s appreciated 👍
Rob WOW!!!!! Congratulations on your 2000 subs .Does this mean I have to call you Mr. Walker or can I still call you Rob 😄😄
Hey Johnny .. I prefer sir but as we’re friends you can call rob 😀. Thanks for watching Johnny 👍
I used to get look in delivered as a kid l wish I kept the one with the jam on the cover
I’m on the hunt for look in with the jam on the cover from 1979 👍
Just been in London myself. Had the kids so no time for record shopping unfortunately!
Hi.. record shopping with the kids isn’t easy but I’m sure you had a great time in London despite that .. thanks for watching👍
Got the new Ride album, Rob?
Not yet .. I’ll certainly stream it. Thanks for the reminder 👍

Hi Harry I guess it’s pretty common in the states but I’d never seen it before ..thanks for watching Harry it’s appreciated 👍
Wow! That Lookin magazine was the very first copy I ever bought. I used to get it on a regular basis after that!
My sister used to get lookin. I wish we’d kept them ..so nostalgic 😀👍
Spitalfields run a specialised record market twice a month on Fridays.
That is the time to go there.
A successful jaunt to London I’d say Rob! Always makes me smile seeing a Morrissey or Style Council record 😊
Congratulations on reaching 2000 mate!
Cheers from Morten

Can they even understand you in London? 🤷♂🤣
Hi Chris , they only understand the colour of money in London ..💩
You saying that the prices were pretty good says a lot since you are a bit of a penny pincher.
Thanks Ritchie I was worrying about you.. have a great weekend 👍..
@@robwalkerletthemusicplay No need to worry about me.
I used to buy Look In when I was a kid. Nice Elvis cover feature.
I’ll hVe to check out those couple of shops in Hackney next time I’m down there. Atlantis Records sounds right up my street.
Glad to see you continuing your quest to take all of the records by Manchester artists back to Manchester.
Hey John you’re spoilt for choice in London but leave plenty of time for Atlantis records .. loved finding that lookin .. yes all Manchester records come home with me where they belong 😀
