These comments are extremely helpful, UA-cam is definitely the place to go for questions about your bike or literally what size spoon you should use for soup. Google has thousands of different answers for everything but I’m glad I came to this comment section to answer almost everything. Great video as well. Think I’m going to order this exhaust right now seeing it hold up against rust after a year and seems some what reliable. I might as well buy a Honda Grom rather than a $1200 exhaust for this damn bike lol. Thanks again.
@@MotoRider2 the exhaust you got actually won’t arrive until December so found the same one for a little more and ordered that one. Should be here Sunday as well.
Have the same exhaust on my 2017 for about 10000km now. Ordered from Aliexpress, much cheaper then amazon. The exhaust will dirty up the rear axle nut area, just give it a cleaning when you do your chain. Pretty simple. I reused the old exhaust gaskets rings, no issues at all. 100% either get a power commander, ECU flash, or ECU flashing kit. Don't run this without it, it really messes up fueling. And you lose a very noticable amount of low down power and long term your exhaust valves aren't going to like you. I ran it for a week without a fuel controller, loved the sound but the loss in the punchiness turned me off too much and I put the stock back on. Ordered a power commander put my flash on. Also popped off the snorkel. And fell in love. Run without the DB killer in for small trips. But for long trips put it in. In and out has a nice sound difference as well.
Cool. Glad you like the exhaust. I noticed that I could wipe off the discoloration. So that issue was taken care of. And I feel the flash makes a difference as well. No backfiring on my end, and the lower to midrange power feels a bit better.
Looks like the exhaust points directly back instead of out like the stocker. so probably a combo of that, and brake dust discolored that nut. I would imagine it gets hotter now so the break dust almost bakes in. That or the clear coat is just yellowed.
Excellent videos. Thank you. Can you give us a sense of how much louder this exhaust is compared to stock. Specifically with the baffle IN. I love the deep growling tone, but do not want it to be too loud. Thank you.
Thanks. The exhaust is A LOT louder with no baffle. With it in, it's quite a bit quieter but it's definitely louder than stock. I wear ear plugs so I keep the baffle out and the "loudness" is on problem.. With the ear plugs in I could never hear the stock exhaust. With the baffle in and the ear plugs I could finally hear it. And without the baffle and the ear plugs I have no problem hearing it. In fact, if the ear plugs are not set right it's a bit too much for me.
Great video, just finished installing after 5 hours 😩. The bracket with gold washer thing was very difficult, I have big hands and had a hard time tightening both nuts. Only got the bottom one tight. The other issue was installing the muffler bracket. It's going the same place so I gave up on trying. Will got to mechanic later but tightened up everything else. Do you think it will be ok if I don't have the muffler bracket on? Thanks again for the very informative install on the other vid. I used it for the whole install.
I'm sure it'll be fine for a little bit without the bracket. What I found that worked for me when getting the bracket on was to squeeze it with both hands and get the backside of it to simply just try and catch/hook onto the edge of the bolt. Once I got it to do that I could adjust it a bit and then eventually get the nut on.
@@MotoRider2 Yup, I got my neighbor and he did just that. We were able to tighten everything at that point. Sounds great and everything is right, cheers!
Hey I just installed this exhaust on my XSR700. Couple questions, I was not sent the bracket that you were sent to attach to the clip that wraps the exhaust. So I used the one that came with the bike. As a result it’s really tight and it pulls the exhaust up so much it creates a gap at the bottom of the pipes where the exhaust goes on the pipes. Will this be a problem? The gap I mean. What is worse case?
In the long run I don't know if it will cause a problem or not. I do know you don't want any gaps /leaks. I'm not a mechanic but gaps/leaks could mess with back pressure going to the engine. Which may impact how the bike runs. But again, I'm not a mechanic so I couldn't tell you for sure.
Does it keep poping ang banging even with the baffle installed? I want an exhaust real bad, but I refuse to get the bike tuned. I don't want anyone messing with my ECU.
For me, it still popped. I understand the concern with the ecu. I questioned it as well, but I sent it to 2 wheel dyno works and it's been fine since then. They've done a ton of ECU's for this exhaust.
Can I ask what brand / specific model of the DB Killer silencer is that. The exhaust looks like what i on my scooter (with the odd shape/not like a standard symmetrical pipe shape). I want a more quiet exhaust but I don't want to replace the exhaust so I need something like this.
I don't notice anything like that when I'm riding. So it's probably just the mic on the camera. Also, it seems more prevalent in the video with the baffle in. I've heard that in other exhausts as well not just the Ransoto.
There's a link in the description above. Just a heads up though, sometimes it's NOT available. I'm guessing supply chain issues, etc. But it usually comes back in stock.
Is it really important to get the tune after putting on this exhaust, i have a 18 mt 07, rest all the exhaust are just so expensive!! Im just scared to use this because i have heard people that it hurts the bike if you dont tune it, so will i absolutely need a tune?
I'm not a mechanic so I couldn't say for sure. You'll get all sorts of answers on this from others. All I know is that the tune was 100% worth it for me.
Installed mine today sound clips do not do this cheap exhaust justice. Mine also came with the white bracket, did you purchase a new one or scrub the white off the original?
Yeah, it sounds great. I just peeled off the white part. It's plastic and comes right off. Definitely don't want to leave that on when the exhaust gets hot.
