  • DISCLAIMER: I'm not a certified mechanic. I've always done this kind of work in all my bikes since I started riding about 9 years ago or so, so I know my way around it. Don't use this video as a guide, rather an entertainment video.
    In this video you can see my journey on the 20k (12000 mi) maintenance service on the MT-07, which included:
    - New Oil
    - New Oil Filter
    - New oil plug + crush washer
    - New spark plugs
    - New Coolant
    - General lubrication and maintenance check
    I did plan on doing a throttle body sync, but unfortunately my carbtune is late in the mail because of the pandemic. Will do it as soon as I get it.
    Main products used in the video, that I recommend (I'm not sponsored by any means):
    - Fuchs Silkolene Pro4 10W40 XP Engine Oil
    - Motorex M5.0 Anti-freeze/Coolant
    - Hiflofiltro Racing Oil Filter
    - OEM NGK LMAR8A9 spark plugs
    Also recommend and used in past services of the MT-07:
    - EBC Sintered brake pads
    - MOTUL Med-Heavy 15w Fork oil
    - Brembo Sport500 DOT4 Brake Fluid
    That's all for now. BRAAP

    Simply amazing. This summer I'm planning on getting myself MT-07 as a first bike, and I always wanted to see just how much effort it takes to take care of your bike yourself. This maintenance video showed me that I should not be afraid and that even I, a person who has never even tried doing any mechanical work on his car/bike, can manage to do it! I bow my head to you, Sir.

    a mt 07 é sem duvida uma boa moto e todos o sabemos , no entanto no que toca a facilidade de fazer as manuntençoes ditas normais ,.. é muito má mesmo, pois pra se mudar umas velas , filtro,.. etç,.. é nessessario desmontar muita coisa e com certo cuidado, isoo foi algo que mal comprei a mt 07 fiquei logo com essa impressao assim que dei uma vista de olhos mais aprufundada , no entanto com um pouco de paciencia e gosto tudo se faz, porem um pouco mais trabalhoso,.. tendo boa e adequada ferramenta ajuda e muito ,..quem se quer aventurar pela 1 vez que use a tecnica de tirar fotos as fichas ou certos parafusos , pois pode ajudar na hora de tornar a montar , e tbm vendo certos videos como este ,.. ou identicos !

      @@advfix Yes, they only have the service manual for the first gen MT-07, but apart from body plastics, mechanically everything is the same in between both generations. Regarding the garage, I live in an apartment, and this is a parking space that I own inside the building that was very badly closed into a box garage by the previous owner. I'm slowly converting it into a decent garage workspace.

    • @braap101
      @braap101  3 роки тому

      @@advfix No issues with rust up until now, but I do know a couple of people that experienced some rust in the swingarm. A good solution would be to sand the rust down and repaint the area with a good anti-rust spray paint. Since the swingarm has kind of a matte black finish, it's a pretty easy and seamless job, and should permanently solve the issue for that area.

    How much oil, demineralised water and coolant did you put it? What was the measurement for all

    • @braap101
      @braap101  3 роки тому +1

      Hey.
      Oil: 2.6L (with filter change)
      Coolant: 1.6L (radiator) + 0.25L (reservoir)
      I did not run the bike with the demineralized water. I just poured a fair bit in the radiator whilst letting it drain via drain bolt, to clean the radiator. Also, did not measure the amount of coolant I used, since the radiator has to be filled up to the top, and the reservoir has a max value. After a ride with the bike cool to the touch, I rechecked the coolant levels since it's normal for it to lower a tiny bit after the air bubbles rise.

    Awesome video my friend, will be using this as a tutorial for servicing my bike this weekend. What do you think of using Yamalube 10W40 instead of Silkolene? Also, I'd like your opinion on the brake fluid as my dealer has only Motorex DOT 4 Brake fluid and Motul DOT 3&4.

    • @braap101
      @braap101  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks dude! If you have the ABS version, I recommend dropping the radiator a bit to change the spark plugs. I wish I had done it, it would have saved me a lot of troubble on taking the coil packs and spark plugs in and out. I don't ever use Yamalube/Motul oil in my MT-07 since it makes my gearbox really stiff and causes a lot of misshifts. I would recommend either the Silkolene or Liqui Moly's Street Race (best results so far from my experience). Both Motorex and Motul are good quality options for brake fluid!

    • @braap101
      @braap101  3 роки тому

      Sem conhecer o histórico da mota, é difícil dizer com certeza o que poderá causar a situação. Deixo aqui algumas questões (factor placebo e mecânico) a ponderar:
      - A mota foi atestada sempre da mesma forma? - > Atestar o depósito com a mota direita versus no descanso traduz-se em níveis diferentes de combustível no tanque.
      - Apesar do estilo de condução ser o mesmo, o trajecto foi sempre o mesmo? Ou alterou para algo com mais subidas, para-arranca etc? - > O trajecto influência mais o consumo da mota do que imaginamos.
      - O consumo médio da mota foi relativamente o mesmo em ambas as situações de discrepância de autonomia? - > Na lógica das questões anteriores, se o consumo for o mesmo, então o tanque não teve o mesmo nível de combustível que anteriormente, se o consumo for mais elevado, justifica-se a autonomia reduzida, apesar de não sabermos ao certo o motivo do consumo.
      - A mota levou escape aftermarket? - > Já soube de escapes que, sem ajuste de mapa de combustíveis, incrementaram os consumos e reduziram a potência consideravelmente.
      - A bateria da mota foi desligada depois de atestar? - > Ao isto acontecer, o quadrante faz reset, dando a sensação de que a autonomia foi menor, quando na verdade não foi.
      - Houve alguma manutenção que tenha envolvido desligar sensores? - > Um sensor, por exemplo da boia que mede o nível de combustível, pode estar mal ligado, resumindo-se numa incorrecta leitura do nível do combustível.
      Eu questiono isto porque a probabilidade desta situação ser causada por um defeito mecânico é reduzido. Independentemente de existir um defeito na leitura do combustível, o combustível está lá, e a autonomia não depende dessa leitura, o que me leva a crer que possam ser factores "naturais" e não mecânicos.
