9:45 Yeah, the manufacturers just put useless crap on the bike for no reason. Good thing you're an experienced engineer who has done lab testing on this to make sure fine paricles don't slip past there. "I never have had a problem" doesn't mean it's not letting through unfiltered air. But it's fine, the engine doesn't even need compression after 3 years anyway.
Everyone likes to proclaim big power figures. That's what sell bikes. Some dynos read different to others and there is a lot to consider. For example if you are comparing this bike with the HO version then it's flawed. The HO model is a larger engine capacity and as such makes more power.
So standard it has about 74 hp @ the crank, which would be about 63 hp at the wheels with 15% drivetrain loss. Now this bike was restricted to 35kw for the a2 license. I must say I am not impressed with the results of this tune. Full derestrict + akra + remap and only 65 wheel horsepower? That's about as much as stock rwhp. Wtf is that about?

If you are comparing with the HO model which has aboout 30 more cc, "that is miss leading". A stock HO model has around 65hp measured at the rear wheel. A stock de restricted lams bike, "with stock airbox lid and filter and exhaust and no tuning" has around 57hp at the rear wheel. And yes I have tested it and measured it. I've said this many times, do not make comparrions between the 2 models. They do not have the same spec engine in Australia. You guys are getting all bent out of shape over "Quoted" OEM power figures which are not measured or factual, nor are they real world figures. The video demonstrates how to derestrict a lams bike and what power improvements to expect on the road, not just peak power, but right through the rev range. The figures are not set in concrete, every bike will yeild a slightly differrent result, some exhaust systems work better than others etc, etc.
Impossible to answer, no two rides are the same and so the result will never be the same. Generally speaking expect to use more fuel to generate more power. However if you're riding around town a lot and not opening the throttle aggressively then economy is often improved.
@@robignatov exactly, the same in the US. I don't think they even bought the smaller capacity MT07 in to Canada or the US. New Zealand have similar rules, but it can take less than 2 years to get your full licence. In the UK they have similar rules, but a bit stricter based on which beginner licence you have. Their A1 licence allows 125cc only, A2 is up to 35kw - which is similar to the MT07 in the video and then you need your full licence and to be over 24 to ride a larger capacity bike.

Yeah it all works. You can buy all the parts from me. Go to any bike shop for fitting. They can send the ECU to me and I'll write the tune. Or you can buy a Powergate tuner and write the tune yourself.
After the de restriction is it necessary to retune the bike mate ?? Also people in the comments the engine difference between models is 30cc’s I doubt 30cc’s would make a huge power difference probably 6-7 Hp
No need for a re tune, you're buying a flash tune. I dont know the answer to the second part of your question and I'm not going to speculate. We read rear wheel power, thats the only thing that matters
i try the airbox mod and it feels like i lose torqeu down low when i put the snorkel back it has more torqeu i did not tune it but i know the f1 mercedes engine has inlet tubes that can get longer and shorter for more torqeu so it feels like with the big opening its not filling the cylinder as well this can be deu to air speed that with the the tube the airspeed is higer
I've tuned 100's of these lams versions and not one has less power anywhere. However if you don't do a full derestrict which in this case includes tuning it to match then you may well experience less low down power. Do it once , do it right.
All manufacturers exaggerate power figures. They also differ between dynos. That's not so important. What is important is the comparison before and after
The USA bikes don’t have any of these constrictions from what I can tell. Well, we do have the air snorkel but that takes 2 seconds to remove and you’ll need a tune. My 16 FZ07 doesn’t have that throttle restriction plate. is this the same on the 2022 tracer 700??
Thanks for the vid, removed my tank to replace teh air filter for the second time, and this time 4 black spacers hit the ground, and no idea where they came from. Any ideas?
Dommage que vous montrer pas comment enlever la boite a air !!
Sinon superbe video👍
i bought a mt-07 as my first bike! i posted the first time i ride the mt-07 if people want to see...
i will keep posting some videos!
For anyone thats on the A2 restricted license and wants to do this or has done this, i'd be very careful, the police could have the potential to seize your bike due to the bikes power not meeting your license category.
And how would they find out?....
@@allenmagill2568 Not hard to Google, if they have suspicion that the bike has more power than your category license they have the right to seize it and test it.
Why is the bike so low powered in Australia? everywhere else in te world the bike is standard 74BHP
Is the process for the Tenere 700 the same?
@Bob Sacamano what’s 30cc’s tho fuck all power wise
@Bob Sacamano I’m saying is the 30cc engine capacity difference noticeable between them or is it barley noticeable, CC’s do limit power dude 😅 if you reduce the engine size to say 500cc that will limit power, now I’m saying is the 30cc difference noticeable??
I got FZ07 or MT07 2014 and I don't know if got the HO model or LAMS model I'm here at Canada... tnx this video is helpful got to checked mine hope link where I can buy the all the parts that you replace ?
Wtf is lams?
Learner approved motorcycle scheme.
I wish so much that I had a quality service like this here in Rio de Janeiro!
Hey mate great video that is much needed on UA-cam first of all, secondly what is the actual name for the coupler/restricted stack that was replaced with HO version? Struggling to find it
I also couldn't find it is there a link for where i can buy that from
Good luck, can be found on
www.yamahapartsonline.com.au/parts/
search oem yamaha parts for model found under intake, ref 8 and 9

Hey Dave, what is the increase without the Tune and just the derestriction ?
ah darn it, its for a lams bike, I thought the full power versions had these restrictions too:p
I dont get it whit the airfilter you get the small hole out and put a big hole in but you put a lit on it whit a small hole 🤷
My bike is restricted in the throttle and the air filter. Will I notice any change in the power if I derestrict the air filter but not the throttle? Or will I have to derestrict the throttle aswell to get more power?
Dave I'm in WA where can I go to get this done
You can buy all the parts from me. Go to any bike shop for fitting. They can send the ECU to me and I'll write the tune. Or you can buy a Powergate tuner and write the tune yourself.
Ok so if you buy an mt 07 (A2) restricted you can remove the parts and get full effect like (A) license??
you still have to flash the ECU, but yes all 55kw of madness
Hey that was funny but I led the Sip….great video
Not Bad, Ive Gotten My Lams MT07 Up to 73hp after a full De-Ristriction and adding a Stage 2 DNA Airbox Filter!
Hi mate, do mt07's where you live come restricted from factory? In the UK they have 74hp stock,.
@@fridgemagnet Measured at the wheels?
@@troyjollimore4100 crank
@@fridgemagnet Yeah part of our Learner motorcycle laws.
Similar to your A2 rules
Is the process the same for a 2021 model
@@rickycoulter7794 yes
Hey mate, You wouldn't have a oem restrictor plate for a 2016 MT07? Yamaha don't list just the plate.
Cheers
Everything you need is sold in a kit and is in stock
After the de restriction is it necessary to retune the bike mate ??
Also people in the comments the engine difference between models is 30cc’s I doubt 30cc’s would make a huge power difference probably 6-7 Hp
No need for a re tune, you're buying a flash tune.
I dont know the answer to the second part of your question and I'm not going to speculate. We read rear wheel power, thats the only thing that matters
cool video mate but he still has the restriction in the exhaust.
That's just a sound baffle unless you remove the cat.
i try the airbox mod and it feels like i lose torqeu down low when i put the snorkel back it has more torqeu i did not tune it but i know the f1 mercedes engine has inlet tubes that can get longer and shorter for more torqeu so it feels like with the big opening its not filling the cylinder as well this can be deu to air speed that with the the tube the airspeed is higer
I've tuned 100's of these lams versions and not one has less power anywhere. However if you don't do a full derestrict which in this case includes tuning it to match then you may well experience less low down power. Do it once , do it right.

Why do your HP numbers for stock tune differ so much from Yamahas' advertised HP figures ?
All manufacturers exaggerate power figures. They also differ between dynos. That's not so important. What is important is the comparison before and after
Volume is very low or my headphones are busted.
ma queste modifiche vanno bene anche per la full power?
why are these restricted and is that true in all countries etc?
strange you don't put the first screw on the airfilter...
need this available in the USA. Sounds like some amazing changes I could make to my 2017 FZ-07.
The USA bikes don’t have any of these constrictions from what I can tell. Well, we do have the air snorkel but that takes 2 seconds to remove and you’ll need a tune. My 16 FZ07 doesn’t have that throttle restriction plate. I’m not taking it all apart to see if the intake tubes are small or wide open but my 2WDW tune with snorkel delete is awesome so I’m not messing with anything else air/fuel related. I feel bad for you guys overseas with all the BS restrictions.
How much would the de restriction cost if I brought the parts?
