  • I always loved the beautiful colorful macarons with the different fillings and .tastes. And now finally I found this recipe which is sugar free and low carb It's great for the keto diet or for anyone who wants to reduce sugars from their diet and eat healthier desserts.

    Ingredients:
    3 egg whites
    1 cup powdered erythritol
    1/4tsp cream of tartar
    1 1/2 cups almond flour
    vanilla extract
    food colouring
    1 cup strawberries
    2tbs xylitol
    2tbs cream cheese
    1tbs lemon juice
    8oz whipping cream
    about 2g carbs per cookie

    that's what's great about macrons, they already use almond flour so you just have to sub out the sugar and make a keto friendly filling. Thanks for this

    Oh how I wish there’s another sweetener than erythritol ( I really get put off with the cooling aftertaste). I read in the comments that erythritol is our best choice , but maaaaan the cooling effect is horrible . Thanks very much though ♥️♥️.

    I made these they were a little bit sweet for my liking but good. Don't rub the top with water on my first batch I did that and it turned out as a hard cookie. The second batch was good it was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside but not like a traditional macaron.

    Thank you so much for the recipe and I am definitely going to try, however I do not have cream of tartar, could I substitute it with baking powder for instance?

    If use granular erythritol can I do double boiler to dissolve it & no need to add cream of tartar?

    The only thing is they had no feet. So, not sure how aerated and nice texture they are. Maybe too chewy.

    Can I use swerve for powdered sugar part and monkfruit with erythritol for the other?

      Hi, you need erythritol for the cookies otherwise it will stay soft (I tried it). For the filling you can use any keto sweetner 😊

    Wow~ this is such a clear, concise & easy to follow tutorial for one of my favorite pastries ever! Thank you so much for sharing this- I'm excited to make them.
    *Do you find them to have the traditional crispy-yet-slightly-chewy texture that the cane sugar version produces? I realize that various sweeteners can result in different textures, & noticed you used erythritol for the cookie & xylitol for the filling~ which seems prudent, considering. I've been experimenting a lot with allulose, though it may not give as crisp a shell in this case. I'd be curious to know if you tried other sweeteners in developing your recipe? If you have time to respond, of course. Thanks again~ Samantha in AZ

      Hi! Yes I tried several sweeteners but only erythritol worked in getting the right texture. With other sweeteners the cookies were really soft 😊

    Can i add unsweetened coco powder to the macaron batter? If so how much can i put and will it change baking setting?

      Yes you can add 2 tbs and the baking settings are the same 😊

    May I know if there is any substitution for whipping cream and may I use light cream cheese for the cream cheese part? Thanks so much for your recipe❤

      Hi! Yes you can use light cream cheese just make sure it's still low carb 😊 Regarding the whipping cream, to make a light and fluffy cream I recomend using it. But if you prefer buttercream for example you can use it instead of this cream🌷

    Is there a replacement for eggwhites?

      Yes, you can cook chickpeas and use the water you cooked it in to replace the eggwhites 😊

      If it also has erythritol in it then yes. Otherwise it will stay soft even after baking

      I tried it and it doesn't work and stays soft. I guess erythritol crystallises better than xylitol

    Are the eggs small medium or large? When you're using equivalent egg white measurements it matters!

    What should we do if don't have a sugar substitute but don't wanna consume sugar?

      I'm not sure but if you keep the size per the recipe instructions in the video you'll have quite a few with each having about 2 grams net carbs

      Only a little bit because there's no sugar.. But it is the best keto macarons in my opinion in terms of macaron shape and taste 😉

    hi you talked about 300 degres but on your video you put 175 degres or 300 F and this is not the same thing. Can you clarify please? Are you saying 150 C or 300 F? or is it 300 C and 600 F? Thanks JP

      175 is British temperature . It's 300 in America.
