I’m 16 and decided to start this diet about 6 months ago. you will see the effects of a pure carnivore diet after 2 weeks. I had toilet issues and felt absolutely terrible during those first two weeks. However after my body adapted to this diet I felt completely different. Literally infinite energy and better performance. But after a month I had insane cravings for fruit and just decided to add it in. Also improved skin, better sleep, my allergies are fully cured, candy and processed foods taste terrible, and I can fast and not feel hungry for the first ~18 hours. Also it might just be puberty but my facial hair got thicker and grows much quicker. Literally a superhuman diet 😅

Do not just jump into a carnivore diet without the transition phase of the diet first. You may feel like crap by not properly eating the right foods as you transition. This will allow your microbium to change to the new diet slowly.

@@uncrustable9923 The best thing you can do is try to get your own income as fast as possible, then buy the food you want to eat. The carnivore diet definitely isn't the cheapest diet, so unless your family is on the richer side, I doubt they could afford it. Where I live, the cheapest I could do is probably around 350 euros per month, but in reality I probably spend like 450 euros to get some variety in.

Carnivore has been the ONLY thing that has helped her long term. She tried paleo, keto, and many variations of these (for years). its because your system isnt used to all that fat. i believe it has to do with your liver not able to produce enough bile right now to process it, so the fat just sits in your tummy which makes you feel sick. like everyones been saying, theres about a two week period where youre not gonna feel good. i got lucky and had all the bathroom-related issues in the morning before work hehe. to make it easier, just slowly transition. if you eat a mix of grains, meat, and veggies like most people, cut the veggies right away, lower the grains, and up the meat. for grain options switch to white rice or sweet potatoes during this period. those are the least inflammatory. wheat-based foods are pretty bad IMO. but one thing you need to remember is to never eat seed/vegetable oils. @@pixelizedneko

Primarily, I have removed mostly oxalate-heavy plant foods like dark leafy greens and have found that this has made a big difference for me. For those struggling with chronic health issues and you feel like you’ve “tried” everything, do some research on the oxalate issue, remove those foods containing a lot of them and see if it makes a difference in how you feel. Because fruit digests so quickly and easily, it starts to break down in your stomach before the fat/protein, which takes longer to digest. This can lead to gasses forming in your stomach, gas and bloating. This might explain your experience...

I’ve struggled a lot over the past two years with depression, anxiety, and severe fatigue. I decided to start a low carb diet (mostly meat based) two months ago, and honestly, I don’t ever want to go back. I have more energy, motivation, consistency in the gym, and stability in my mood than I ever have, and this is only the beginning!
I ate whatever I wanted to on vacation, and I felt the worst I have in a long time. My stomach was messed UP. I was moody and lethargic. It was an immediate switch.
For longevity, I’ve been looking into doing the fruit and meat option, instead of low carb completely!
Also, once you get past the first two weeks, you’ll really start to notice changes consistently!

    • @fruitfuelled
      @fruitfuelled Рік тому +2

Most people do feel fantastic when they start a diet of this nature ('low carb') but from my knowledge, it's not healthy long term.
The benefits you feel are almost all a result of what you cut out (processed and refined carbs with heaps of chemicals).
As we saw in the video, Lucas felt WAY better when he upped his fruit/carb intake, but then also started feeling heavy and sluggish (possibly detox symptoms as fruits are astringent and are the cleaners of the body).
At a cellular level, our bodies ONLY use carbs for fuel, nothing else. All the proponents of keto/low-carb seemingly overlook this, which is quite scary.
Contrary to the BS you see online, you CAN NOT eat too much fruit, as I already said we're designed to run off fructose and glucose. Any other macro eaten in excess will only be converted to a usable fuel (carbs) via gluconeogenesis, which is obviously less efficient than just getting the fuel from the source.
Additionally, fructose doesn't require insulin to be absorbed. Fruits are the fastest-digesting thing we can possibly eat, and they get to work inside our bodies right away!
As for the meat component, I don't believe we're supposed to eat it (I used to inhale steaks daily) and we definitely don't need it. But if you are going to go down the meat-based route, I would strongly advise against lowering your carb (fruit) intake unless you want to increase your chances of diabetes, heart disease, etc.
These are just some of my thoughts, if you read this far, thank you!
P.S. I'm open to any questions anyone may have, I'd be happy to teach you something.

@@fruitfuelled I defenetly agree that keto is NOT a long term thing. Your first 3 points are 100% true but than your comment becomes absolute non-sense.
Point 5: You can defenetly eat too much fruit for the reason you mentioned. It doesnt interact with insulin. There are special enzyms for fructose, but humans dont have too much of them. For the most people its about like 25g/hour that they can digest. It gets broken down in the liver and that makes it really problematic in higher dosis. Long term of eating too much fruit you will get a leaky gut and a fatty liver like an alcoholic, causes cancer etc.
Point 6: Fruits are NOT the fastest-digesting thing we can possible eat, since they are not entirely made out of glucose. There is fiber to it that slows down the absorbtion and also the fructose gets slower absorbed than glucose in same dosis.
Point 4: Our body does NOT only use carbs for fuel. It uses ketons. What do you think happens to our body fat if we loose it? Lets say you dont eat for a week. First your body uses its glucose. The human stores arround 200g of it. That lasts for 2 days if you are lucky. You dont die afterwards because your body create ketons out of your fat. Only a little bit glucose is made through glucogenesis since the brain needs a little bit. For the rest is also uses ketons.
I mean just think through the evolution. In many parts of the year there were NO sources of carbs. If we didnt have an alternative to them we wouldnt be here today no?
Point 7: We are highly adepted to eat meat. We have special genes that other apes dont have for example. Tho i agree we dont need it today. Back in the time meat (including organs) was the best thing to eat tho since it contains everything we need (vitamins, trace elements, good protein, etc.) and is highly energetic. Today we can eat everything we want so we dont need it anymore, especially because eating more of it equals to a higher chance of cancer and other problems. But back than it was great because it puts everything we need together.

I was pale, I was gaining weight, and I just could not escape this brain fog that stayed with me the entire day. There were days I could barely get off the couch. I thought it was a mix of the stress of a divorce, being out of shape, and just getting older. 2 weeks into this diet and my brain fog is gone completely. I’ve weaned my medication to 20mg and I can focus all day and still have energy left over. I’m chasing my son around the house and back yard for HOURS playing. My complexion is glowing. My face fat is already gone. And overall I just have this hunger for LIFE like I’m 19 again and I have nothing but goals of what I’m GOING to do, not just what I WANT to do. This diet is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Look into the "Vertical Diet" where you can incorporated non-gluten carbs like rice and potatoes. IMO, I think the vertical diet fits in some of the missing pieces. Personally, with the vertical diet approach I add in kimchi with tomatoes and avocados and I have felt great. I do like the meat and fruit diet a lot but I did notice you have to plug in dense quick carbs like dates strategically before heavy activities.

This overall was a neat experiment my only critiques are you could have opted for fats as fuel, and eaten more lower carb fruits which kinda did with the strawberries, but blue berries, raspberries, kiwis etc. are also could low carb fruit options. And for two, I know we don’t normally think of tomatoes, avocados, and olives as fruits, but they are (technically) so you could have included those, and also more raw dairy like raw milk and cream.
As for anti-nutrients simply cooking veggies actually greatly reduces anti nutrients. Traditional preparation of oats, and even how Meso-American nations prepared corn make it more nutritious by depleting the anti-nutrients on the oats and corn, Ezekiel Bread actually does the same thing (sprouted grains). So yeah anti-nutrients can be lessened.

You can like that while using data of carbs as fuel. If you’re into resistance training (calisthenics or weight lifting) as well as cardio then you should be able to eat a lot of carbs without issue but if you primarily do cardio for exercise, or are mostly inactive lower carb high fat would be better.

You may have better digestion with eating the fruit away from fat. Carbs digest so fast but fat does not. When we eat them together it can cause the fruit to ferment in our digestive tracts. This can cause a lot of bloating etc. also can contribute to insulin resistance. Eating fruit/carbs only the first half of the day and meat only the last half of the day would be the work around for this issue. May be something to try out.

I’m curious about your cravings. I vaguely remember an episode of a show (NatGeo or Discovery) about how the body goes through extremes where a guy was lost at sea in a raft for weeks or months. He was eating raw fish for days and found himself weirdly craving the scales and eyes of the fish after a while. Turns out (or so the show told) that the cravings were instinctual drives to get more nutrients that the meat of the fish alone was not providing.
I’d also be curious to see what your bloodwork looks like before and after your experiments.

been doing carnivore for 2 years now, and cravings stopped in the first month. Now, I will say, over the past year or two, Ive seen something that mentally I crave, not physically. I think last year I had one small piece of birthday cake, this year I had a cookie, and it did remove that 'mental' craving and it was small enough and not a constant thing that my body took it in stride. Listen to you body, it will let you know. I suppose I am more of a relaxed carnivore, eating the beef, chicken, pork, etc, but also eggs, cheeses, butter, heavy cream, etc. Of course not fruits, no veggies, no grains, or nuts, or anything like that. Over the past 2 years, Ive dropped 170#, several clothing sizes, maintain strong and high energy levels. I havent gotten so much as a sniffle the past 2 years. No aches, no pains, its been amazing and will continue!

The next stage of it is actually sourcing fresh home grown seasonal fruit, the quality difference between typical supermarket fruit and home grown stuff is like night and day. But I feel that's just because I have not become fully fat adapted yet. Also the part about the anti-nutrients being good, I'm now using that as an excuse to enjoy eating out with friends on occasion to get the benefits of the slight stressors and come on now, you gotta have some fun right ;) And im so with you, sweet potatoes and olive oil are must haves hehe. I remember reading about some tribe that ate meat and milk and bitter green vegetables mainly and then the people that moved to a city and kept up the diet but with fewer bitter greens died very early.
For people that live the longest (see the Blue Zones) none of them eat much meat and their diets are heavy with "anti-nutrients".
I've tried switching to a heavy meat and fat based diet and fought I had an initial feeling of energy and lucidity and very quickly I think that the fat, while being very satisfying, turned lucidity into a mental fog.
If you stick to something for awhile be sure to re-evaluate how you feel every so often since often diets such as keto yield great initial results but actually become counter-productive in the medium to long term due to decreased energy levels leading to less exercise.

I’ve done full carnivore. My macros are still primarily highest in fat, then protein, then carbs. The only vegetables I really eat is potatoes, which I fry in beef tallow. Only fruit I had recently is organic bananas, stopped with blueberries, strawberry, and raspberries due to pesticides. Honey dew melon is a huge energy boost. Will eat sushi from time to time so some rice and the wrap. Then I’ll do sourdough bread. Then all the common meats. I get chopped up steak, ground chicken, bacon, eggs (mostly the yokes) and recently bison sausage. It’s really important to get quality meats, especially with pork and chicken since it will actually change the composition of their fat to being unhealthy mono-saturated fat.
I don’t think that vegetables are “bad” but it certainly takes a lot more vegetables to get the same amounts of nutrients you can from meat (since our digestive system is much more efficient with meat). Another issue with vegetables is pesticides and such.
Also it’s very important to incorporate bone broth and beef gelatin/collagen. And instead of butter use either beef tallow or duck fat (from quality sources).
Goodluck though carbs are important for when you’re heart rate goes above a certain point, which depends on your conditioning.

i like your experiments. i would like to see you do a week on my basic diet. 3 fried eggs every morning plus 2 pieces of dave's bread toasted with butter, followed by 2 bananas and 3-4 big spoonfuls of smucker's peanut butter ( just peanuts). i eat a big salad later in the day and usually have a junk food nature valley granola bar as a snack. i typically fast for 16 hours after the second meal and work out fasted in the morning, all bodyweight training. 6' 180#, 68 y/o. there are days where i skip the salad and have a meat based dinner. nuts and cheese on the salad for extra protein and satiety as needed.

You're eating way too much fruits to get all benefits. I personally eat meat, eggs, bit of dairy on week days, and add one portion of fruit in the morning on week-ends. Cheat days once in a while depending on social circumstances. Feeling great.

So i tried full on carnivore for 3 months.
Very hard diet to stick to but super worth it.
No sodas, no veggies, no fruits.
2 weeks of hard adjusting, kicking my aspartame addiction (cola cherry zero addict).
Got the keto shits, no carbohydrates just made my bowl movement soft and aggressive.
After 2 weeks, poop was normalish again.
Energy levels increased not even joking 1000x, i went from needing afternoon naps to easily do 2 workouts aday.
Sleep improved massively , no snoring, no waking up mid night etc
    Weight loss. 24.8kg - 54.6lbs -
Overall amazing 3 month diet. I still continue to eat loads of meat but i also added in fruits like pineapple, banana, apples, pears, mango, advocado
Note, i ate grass fed grass finished meats, no antibiotics or hormones added to the animals.
Only spices, real salt (keltic salt) peper
Gained significantly amount of strenght in the gym.
    Stamina increased amazing aswell.
1 gallons of water / day or around 3-4 liters
    No eating after 8 PM
    Fasting for around 16 hours.
Most of the time i had OMAD, when working i did have lunch around 12.30pm
    Supplements:
    Creatine
    cayenne pepper
    Tongkat ali
    fadogia agrestis
    magnesium + zinc
    Vitamine D

It would have been interesting to see you eat the fruit and meat separately.. since fruit digests quicker than meat & in the organ after the stomach- it can cause bloating when not eaten alone .. energy levels & results would have been completely different when eaten at separate times !

For the greens, let’s take celery, in order to have 140 calories, you need to eat a kilo of celery which is absurd lol. I like the way of how Ryan Fischer explains it. He basically cut the greens because of the volume you needed to eat. But eating 3lbs of ground beef with 3lbs of frozen little fruits was perfect for him.

👍 I've been asking you to try this diet for awhile now 😅 I'd have had a bigger variety of fruit, especially berries. Also, try adding honey before workouts for extra explosive energy.
Did you try any organs or other raw dairy products like yogurt, milk or kafir?

doesn't seem he eats high quality meat in his video... I eat beef heart every day just raw. So no cooking. I'm addicted to eat and it feels super healthy. If I only eat saucage and minced meat and eggs I will be sick within couple days. There is not enough nutrients in it. The fruit helps, but if you eat high quailty meat you don't need fruit. You can get every vitamines that you need out of meat. (but not from just only saucage and cheap minched meat) Also when you cook the beef you will lose almost 50 percent of the vitamines. you can eat Beef raw in comparison to pork or chicken that is not safe to eat raw. So to level up on carnivore diet, eating raw meat is even more healthier.

Hey, this might take about a year to prepare but I think it’ll be an amazing long term project. Grow loads of fruit and veg on your plot of land (maybe get someone to help). Once you’ve got a lot to harvest I challenge you to live off only your veg and whatever you can hunt for a few months.

I was a strict carnivore for one year than switched to Animal Based and never looked back. I feel fantastic my bowels feel a million times better, my skin is better the circles around my eyes are gone, I have tons of energy and never feel tired (if you give it more time you will notice you never need the carbs) mind you I only eat 50-125 grams of carbs a day. A really good snack is full fat Greek (I like Chobani) yogurt with some raw honey soooo good, usually right before bed. A week is not long enough for you to break your dependence on carbs and truly utilize fat as an energy source. I would recommend a month of pure carnivore to make your body "fat adapted'' then you will see when you add back in a lower amount of carbohydrates its really just for flavor as the energy from fat is truly superior and sustains itself for an extremely long time.

Only caviat so far is that my strength in the gym is not the same. But I could maintain great workouts diminishing some weights and doing some more reps to compensate. My body is looking more aesthetic every week. My skin is much better also.... So far, soo good. Next weekend i'm planning to do my bloodwork.

Have you tried pork rind coated chicken? Grind plain pork rinds to a panko consistency, add seasonings if you wish like white pepper, garlic, paprika. Whisk a couple eggs, coat each piece of chicken well, place in the pork rind crumb and cover each piece. Then fry them in beef tallow, lard, or butter. So friggin satisfying ❤

Some people may get fermentations by mixing meat and fruits at the same meal. For good digestion, fruits are best eaten in the morning and meats in the evening.
