I just had my yearly checkup with labs after being carnivore for a little over a year. My blood work has never been better. After more than a year of eating nothing but beef, eggs, and butter. Full of saturated fat. Sometimes a dozen eggs in one day along with 5-6 pounds of ribeye steak, snacking on butter from time to time, and cooking beef fat trimmings. My total cholesterol dropped 17 points. My HDL went up 10 points. My LDL went down 25 points, and my triglycerides went down 113 points. My kidney function improved from 80 to 90. In that year, I lost 150 pounds, reversed type 2 diabetes, reversed high blood pressure, reversed low testosterone, and no longer suffer from autoimmune arthritis issues. I was also able to come off all medications.

Mine was a couple months shy of 99. Bacon and eggs every morning. Butter on everything. She ate predominantly a high fat low carb diet with lots of meat. Chopped wood into her 90s. She had zero problems until she was put on statins by her doctor at 92. Two years later she had a stroke and it was downhill from there. The greatest person I ever knew. My grandpa ate butter and bacon daily. People told him he’d die from a heart attack. Well, at age 91 he died from pneumonia. My mom wanted an autopsy done to see what his heart looked like. The report said his heart was great! Looked more like Feb heart of a healthy 40-50 year old man. He didn’t eat sugar either. Nor did he smoke or drink alcohol
Not using tobacco products of any type, not eating sugar, and no alcohol, are huge keys in a healthy life. @@drekberg Thank you so much for all your videos, Dr. Ekberg. You are one of a very few whose info I trust completely, and bc of your incredibly clear teaching style, I have learned so much from you! And bc I live in NC, I am also hoping to see you in person at your new clinic sometime this year, if I am unable to reverse everything on my own (with your helpful videos & others, ofc.). I have one really important question to ask you, however, before I can feel confident going forward. There is a heart doctor I once had great faith in bc he taught me about lectins, which started me on the path to healing from my arthritis! But he has been pushing the idea for a couple of years now that beef, lamb, and pork ALL contain some kind of "sugar molecule" that in our blood streams leads to heart disease, strokes and even cancer; that it ISN'T saturated fat that has been the problem, ofc, but this sugar molecule instead, after all! And I don't know what to think about this bc I have never heard another carnivore or keto doctor or influencer even mention it, let alone refute it. And it is hard to believe he would jeopardize his own reputation by misrepresenting it! And the lack of anyone refuting it only heightens my concern! So I am appealing to you to please mention this in a future video, or even devote a short video to it, if you have any evidence to invalidate his claim. Your help w this would be very greatly appreciated! I will say, however, that I find it highly suspicious that the only meats that supposedly have this molecule are the ones eaten most commonly, but not goats, bison, elk, etc. Isn't that strange? It's almost as if the animals themselves, or their feed, have been genetically modified to create this problem and force the claims about red meat being cancer causing to be true. AND why would that doctor be the only one who knows something about it? Anyway, again, thank you so much for ALL you do, and thank you for your kind consideration of my request.

My mother died very angry at 72 because she had autoimmune illnesses including arthritis before developing lymphoma. She wanted to be healed. She did not want pills, though she was prescribed many. I knew I was overweight, and i was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in March this year. Because I had watched a lot of your videos, I made a complete dietary change. I wouldn't call it keto per se, but close. I got rid of all carb based & sugar filled foods from my pantry, fridge & freezer (I let the kids have it all), no more grain products etc. I have found a low carb bread but I only eat a couple of slices per week, and some low carb crispbread. I eat eggs, bacon, beef, lamb & chicken, full cream milk & butter for the most part. I had another round of bloodtests done in June and my blood sugar had dropped from 6.8 to 4.6, liver and kidney function were back to normal ( I had previously had fatty liver issues), no protein in urine sample, cholesterol normal. I have lost 12kg in the three months, and hope to lose some more, plus my blood pressure is back to normal. The only downside is that to eat healthy, whole foods is WAY more expensive than convenient fast foods, but I have become a compulsive food label reader just to see what is in my food. I also do OMAD or 2MAD, because I decided to only eat when I am genuinely hungry, not because the clock says it is a meal time.
Well done. For a diabetic a low carb diet makes so much common sense. I saw a video on UA-cam by Dr Troy Stapleton who diagnosed himself with Type 1 diabetes did everything he was told, high carb low fat wasn't easy, went low carb high fat and went from 4-5 insulin injection a day to one. Show it to a friend with Type 1 diabetes and he went from 4-5 insulin injection a day to one in a weeks this was 6 years ago and would never change from a Keto diet. Keep it up you have done extremely well.

Keto must be done with animal fats. Plants are full of antinutrients that poison you, that's why a lot of people say that keto doesn't work. Stay on animal foods, and it doesn't matter if it is keto or carnivore you will feel fantastic.

I am posting from Trinidad 🇹🇹 in the West Indies. I have been watching you channel from Aughst of last year to now. I am happy to inform you that you have changed my perspective on diet and the way I interpret " good foods and bad foods." As a result of following your program I am off blood pressure medication, and cholesterol meds. The Doctors were confused when I told them that my improved blood work was not as a result of taking my med but because of me looking at my insulin resistance, intermittent fasting and removal of sugar and seed oils from my diet. Of course they objected to my stopping meds firvthe past 3 months but when I showed them my personal chart, BP moved from140/90 to an average of 124/ 80 and cholesterol 283 to 172 consistently, they took note. I also moved from 173 lbs to 160 without exercising. I just need to make time to exercise for maximum benefits. I have been sharing your posts to most of my friends and some started and are amazed. I am 62 years old and feel like 26 again. Thank you for changing my life and my mindset. May God continue to bless you richly for your marvelous work. Same here. I've been keto for three years and I fast for 19 hours every day. If everybody did what I did, the food industry would collapse, because I don't buy 98% of what the supermarkets sell. I lost 103 pounds in the first 10 months and I've kept it off ever since. If I go on holiday for a week, I'll relax slightly for that week - though I remain sensible. On my last three all-inclusive holidays, I've gained 5 pounds of weight and lost it inside two weeks once I've returned home. If I was to sum it up, I would say that my body is at peace now and that I am eating what it was designed to eat. The added bonus is that I literally avoid the cost of living crisis, because the food that I buy is deemed as high fat and unhealthy and is thus avoided by most people in the first place. Keep up the good work and keep sharing.
Agree on the cost of food. We cut out many items & our grocery bill is much less. I used to eat chips every afternoon when I got home from work. I am not overweight at all yet when chips are $7 a bag and crackers the same THEN watching channels about preservatives and food industry, we now have friends asking us what we are doing. Burgers baby!
@eraera2022 here's the simple answer. Meal 1. Two egg omelette with melted cheese and 6 rashers of bacon. Meal 2. Rib eye steak with broccoli. I sometimes have ground beef burger patties instead of steak.
I have been fasting for close to 2 weeks. Yesterday I had 2 slices of bread, eggs and an avo. I had the worst night in a long time. I broke out in hives and I itched till woke up and bathed. I realised that the only thing I hadn't had in weeks is bread.
I’m starting to see my 6 pack after a month of eating nothing but fatty foods with salt, protein and very very low carbs. The most carbs I’ve had was a little over 30 grams but I strive to keep it under 20 grams. This result was also due to an hour of exercise about 4-5 times a week. I’m a mechanic in the military. For pt, I bike to our company (about a mile) I also bike to work which is about a mile there and back. A mile to the gym and back. With all that said, the results are also, my skin looks brighter, my anxiety is practically gone (I’ve had 3 anxiety attacks in my entire life. 2 resulted to a trip to the ER). I’ve also had trouble sleeping due to hyperventilating before going to bed. That changed after eating carnivore. It’s definitely a life changing experience.
Funny you say this, I’ve noticed this as well when I eat fatty foods and a high animal based diet I’m so calm. I’m guessing the fat replenishes the nervous system and makes it strong so you feel no fear. Majority of the youth these days have anxiety problems I’m guessing it’s due to a lack of fat in their diets
@brianpaul98 0 seconds ago A lot of what you're saying on the carnivore diet is because you cut the sugar. I started the carnivore diet at the beginning of November and I have nothing but good results. If nothing else cut the sugar that's where all the anxiety and lack of focus comes from. Stop for a minute and start looking at everything that contains sugar and keep in mind you should ONLY be eating about 25g a day.
One interesting little nugget I found out through experiment, and please note this isn't the holistic effect but a part, is you tend to consume more choline on this diet. I didn't really know anything about choline before but it truns out is really important for brain function, there's quite a lot in eggs and meat/fish. I now keep a back up choline supplement incase I'm not able to eat those things for any reason, it completely eliminates brain fog (at least in my experience).

Me too 66 and as buff as if I were 32. A big part is that I enjoy my moderately demanding job. When they see how healthy you are, the proof is in the pudding. And it is hard to argue against it.
I've been on the Carnivore Diet since 5th January 2023. Have lost 33 pounds. Have lowered my blood pressure by 40 points and am no longer pre-diabetic. Swollen and painful ankles gone. My husband is down 12 pounds (he started mid-March). He's off his blood pressure tablets and his anti-coagulant - he had 2 separate clots in his lower leg. This way of eating is fantastic. Great health benefits, no cravings, never hungry. Am 64. This is the first time in my life (of dieting for 50 years) that I have felt normal and in control. However, I don't eat bacon - would not want to consume the cheap salt in bacon or any processed or deli meats. I eat all meats, poultry, eggs, butter, fish and have cream in my coffee. It's a proper human diet.
My mom will be 95 this may.. she has eaten eggs fried in butter and bacon since she was a little girl. Mom still eats 2 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon and toast every morning. My grandma, my mom's mom did the same thing and grandma lived to 101. My grandma's sister my great aunt ate same thing and lived to 104. They all was from Missouri and lived a hard life growing up. But they had chickens and pigs .
My Mother is from Kentucky and just turned 90! I live in Missouri now and I am switching from vegitarian to Carnivore!! Hope I make it to 104 years old too!! God Bless you and your beautiful family!!❤ 15:50
My pops is 85 going on 86...every morning for as long as I can remember he ate 3 eggs, 3 bacon, two toast, orange juice and milk. His latest bloodwork (2023) showed him having basically the blood of an 18 year old. Wishing him many many more years.
I can't thank you enough. With your help I have figured out that I am insulin resistant and have had ketoacidosis! This has opened my eyes to the kind of diet or lack of diet I was on.
I have reduced my A1c from 74 to 38mmol since the new year following a Keto, OMAD and varied fasting lifestyle - I have so much more energy and have lost 3 and a 1/2 stone. So it really does work - thanks to you and the UA-cam Keto community for saving my life, feet and eyes! 😊❤
I am eating bacon and eggs and pork roast and chicken and green beans mostly and loosing weight fast. I am also eating only keto friendly low calorie fruit between meals. I am putting butter into almost everything I can and the WEIGHT IS VANISHING FAST
I am so thankful I found this channel. I have got a long ways to go. I had some catastrophic events in 2019 and 2020. I stopped everything, sat on the couch playing video game, watching UA-cam videos (not this one, obviously), and just staring into the abyss of the internet. I ate and drank anything that could help get me numb. I pretty much gave up. I became obese and am on BP meds and recently started cholesterol meds. I was trying to start back at the gym, but my knee is arthritic and I can't walk on it for a long period of time - hoping the new way of eating will help a little bit, and one of the worst things - edema. I get up all through the night going to the bathroom now. I have been eating "right" for about 1.5 weeks, and in that short amount of time, I am feeling better. I have to keep going. I want to get on the IF, but I am not good at that - yet.
Good luck with your health journey. You can do it gradually. You still can have breakfast, like with eggs and bacon in small portion. Once you ready, you can do IF 14/10. Then improve it. God bless you.

With IF I found that it was easier to fast for the whole day. When I realised I wasn't going to actually come to harm, then the IF was easier. When I think I am hungry I drink a glass of water and wait 5 minutes. Its worth trying. Good luck ❤
no i mix it up some oatmeal or lox and cream cheese and bread i shred bacon since no teeth and drain bacon and use butter not w bacon skip bread sometimes potatoes no bread no i dont use butter sometimes oil
I eat meat, fats, and water. I cut out 99% of carbs and sugar. I will have salads also but limited. I have dropped 10 pounds in a week and stopped using 6 medications, my heath in a week feels crazy good. I can only imagine months from now. Oh, and my chronic pain if fading, I feel youthful almost. Never going back to carbs/sugar. It is the source of all suffering.
Got my blodwork from 19th June: Total cholesterol 247, HDL 89, NON-HDL 159. This was prior to my diet start (mostly motivated to loose fat/shred). Im now on full keto, started with 3 day water fasting (its not easy, especially 2nd day, just do it on the weekend and keep yourself ocupied, 3rd day you can chill.) Im eating 1/3rd of what i've ate before, not feeling hungy, body fat is going down (c. 4 lbs /week) and have suprisingly high energy, just yesterday broken my front squat record. I'll do the blodwork in a month to check what will happen. Great advice here.
Thanks so much for always bringing so much value to your followers. You’re one of the few people I follow and listen to when it comes to my health. Forever grateful. ❤️
Dr Ekberg I have been insulin resistant for more than 2 decades.. When I was 23 I had a pituitary tumor that was removed. My body has always been an endocrine wreck. I didn't understand any of this until I started listening to you. Doctors keep telling me that there is a connection between insulin resistance and female hormonal imbalance. It even causes PCOS which I suffer from. I've had endometriosis since I was 13 and I'm 43 now. The hormonal imbalance due to insulin resistance even caused anxiety and depression. Despite all of these things I had two babies. But I've been sick most of my life. I have known many Doctors but no one like you. They cannot compare. I'd love to hear your advice for us ladies on female issues. What dietary plan do you suggest to keep our hormones in balance... To prevent estrogen dominance causing endometriosis. There are many women suffering from it. Are there any foods we should avoid that create a greater risk for breast cancer? How does hormonal imbalance due to insulin resistance cause PCOS and changes in female brain chemistry? What is the difference in Keto for men and Keto for women? Will you please do a few videos on these? You are the most brilliant man I ever came across. Thank you for being such a wonderful man. We all adore you very much. Annie PS Would you speak a few lines on a video in Swedish. It would be lovely to hear you speak your own language.
My husbands doctor is so worried about cholesterol numbers-it’s irritating!? Many blessings for being willing to experiment on yourself!!?? You are loved!!🥰
I watch a lot of videos for the last few years on low carb, Keto and Carnivore. My favorite videos are right here, I believe; the most balanced. Thanks Doc!!
I finally started changing my diet from a standard American diet to carnivore in January. I went straight into one meal a day, but I still had my daily energy drink which I was already phasing from a high amount of sugar to just sugar alcohol, but eliminated anything other than water after about a month. I'm a bit over 90 days in and I've lost about 50 pounds. I eat primarily steaks and I get some bacon once in a while. I'm fitting into shirts from when I was in the 82nd Airborne (2000-2004). I know at my peak the VA had me at 251 in my street clothes in June 2020, but was probably around 230-235 when I changed my diet. This morning I am 184.7 lbs. My blood pressure has also dropped dramatically from 147/91 to an average of 105/76. I have to admit, one of the main reasons I decided to go all in was because I watched several of Dr Ekberg's videos explaining how the body uses the foods you eat and what it really needs. He breaks things down more than probably any other channel on UA-cam. Combined with information from several other Drs on UA-cam and other people on the carnivore diet, I had to try it. There is absolutely zero chance I'll be returning to a standard American diet. A friend of mine was intrigued and she's already down 11 lbs and about 20 points of blood pressure after a little over 30 days. We really need a proper study on Keto/Carnivore so we can reverse 50 or so years of misinformation on diet because we are definitely not getting healthier as a society trying to follow the guidelines.
I went vegetarian/vegan and weigh less now at 29.6 than I did at 15 mind you I am almost 3 inches taller now. Diet is definitely important I have always been active for most my life save for 2013. I weighed myself when I was 15.6 and was 5'7 177 and weighed myself today and I am 5'10 171.
@@buddyrojek9417 Some places in the world they don't eat meat or eat very little meat and live to be 90 to 100 often. Think of Egypt or that part of the world.
Carnivore is ok for some, but the the majority of the problem of the American diet is, its not REAL food. Its so processed that its perhaps 30% food? So much filler, additives, colourants, etc. Should limit your carb intake of course, but even the whole food diet would do wonders for the average western citizen.
Hi Sten, congratulations for getting your blood work back to normal. Thank you for explaining everything. I have a query: for all your overseas viewers would it be possible for you to explain cholesterol with European and UK readings too as I have problems understanding the US system. 😊👍
This is a fantastic video! If nothing else, it shows what 30 days on clean Keto can do for your health. I loved how you explained additional details about each test range. I think you just cured me of doing cheat days!
I eat a lot of eggs, cottage cheese, and low/no carb protein drinks that all have a lot of cholesterol so my cholesterol is always registering on the higher end, but it helps me get leaner, build more muscle, and my hormone therapy doctor is ok with eat because he understands the benefits of what my body will be using the cholesterol for.
"This experience has truly transformed my life. I recently joined a 30-day sugar-free challenge, and I've already noticed remarkable improvements in my health. I plan to maintain this lifestyle for the long term. I'm sleeping better and feel more active throughout the day, even managing to walk four miles every day! I am proud of doc . What amazing free life saving lessons.
Dr. Ekberg for president! This mans wisdom and ability to explain it in a way ordinary folks can understand is life changing. Great job sir, keep the smart health tips coming!
Thank you for this video Dr. Ekberg. It is important information because I tend to quit my ketogenic lifestyle when I go on a two week vacation to visit family. I eat out a lot, and I'm not careful because I do keto all the rest of my year. This video made me a little scared. I'm not thinking about how all that is hurting me, so thank you for changing my focus about vacation eating. Hope you have a great weekend!
I do the same but I still fast 16:8. I cant go to like India and not enjoy the curries and street foods. I just eat small portions and skip rice or bread always. There is ghee in everything.
I do exactly the same on vacation normally to Greece, i can't not enjoy all the greek food, so for 2 weeks i always break Keto/ low carb im not changing that tbh. also going to cornwall in June for 5 days - have to have a real cornish pasty and cornish ice cream, cream teas etc.
I've always heard, and it makes sense to me, that eating a lot of saturated fat - fat that is solid at room temperature - will clog your arteries, just like it clogs your drain pipes. So too much bacon fat and butter causes strokes and heart attacks. Has this been proven untrue?
@jbr84tx - So what is the takeaway? I too have been taught high sat fat causes this disease but Dr Ekberg has demonstrated that Keto diet, high fat low carbs have positive results on health overall. I am leaning towards Dr Ekberg's research. What say you? Thanks. The markers before, junk food and then after results prove truth for health. IMO 👍👍👍👍👍👍😁
This is by far one of your best videos. I have been "contemplating" changing my diet for a couple of years while watching numerous YT videos from various sources. Your explanation of the blood work was excellent. I have known for a long time that I am an emotional eater who turns to high carbohydrate "foods" for "relief". I am reading a book on this topic now and because of this video I think I will be ready to make the change I know I need to make in a couple of weeks. I can surely eat vegetable and protein meals. Thank you for the Blood Work Course below. I will check it out.
It doesn't surprise me knowing the biochemistry. If the mitochondria starts "spitting out" citrate everything goes wrong quickly. It's all about sugar, Randle cycle and the Warburg effect...
I started Keto in March. Not only am I down 25 pounds, but I am sleeping better, and I have a ton more energy. I have never been a huge sweets person, but I loved bread and potatoes.
Thank you Dr Ekberg for all of yours precious advice. I lost 30 pounds and I’m at my best of my life even if I’m 50 now. I like all of your videos. Keep up the good work! If more persons could listen to you, the world would be in better shape! ☺️
I have been following you for a year now, it was quite by accident. I lost 60 pounds, listening to your, and several other UA-cam channel's. I stopped watching what I ate and reintroduced breads to my diet. I gained 20 pounds in a year. It's obvious that my body makes too much insulin when eating bread. I am starting again. I am hoping to lose another 60 pounds. I hope to accomplish it within a year, or less. Thank you for your insights. You taught me a lot.
@@Jimmy911ism either a cup of yogurt and or oatmeal with a 1/2 cup of berries, in the morning. For lunch it would be about 5 cups of mixed greens, sardines in oil, (or 3 eggs, or chicken with skin) slices of peppers, tomatoes, onions, walnuts 1/2 an avocado with olive oil and apples cider vinegar. Sometimes I would also eat 1 very thinly sliced Italian bread. Very rarely. For dinner I ate any meat with 2 types of vegetables with either butter or olive oil and lemon, including potatoes. I would loose an average of 1 to 2 pound a day. I did not lose any weight when I went strictly keto. I did not lose any weight when I did not eat enough carbohydrates. I had to eat least 75-100 grams of carbs a day for me to lose anything. My window of eating was around 6 hours for the day. I went as long as 2 days without food, did it on a weekend. The results of not eating stopped my body from losing weight for over a month, maybe 2. The same thing happened when I went on 50 grams or less of carbs a day. For that it took about 3 months before I started loosing again, and only after I brought my carb levels higher. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing any weight, until I elevated my carb intake. I am going to get back on it. I know I am addicted to bread. I eat more than I should when it's available to me. Therefore I can't have any in the house. I can avoid anything else, but.
Thanks for your videos. I have totally changed the way I see eating, lost some unwanted weight but more importantly am putting things in place for a healthier future, thanks to your advice!
Thank you @plumairalbannach8492 for sharing your great results and helping inspire others. That is so awesome. I am thrilled that you have seen such great results. Keep it up! 😄
Thanks for doing these experiments. I have been low carb for a year and carnivore for a month. Never yet had ketones over 0.3. Your health must be amazing. Congratulations. I am inspired to keep going.
Try fasting or the sardine fast. Eat nothing but sardines for 36 hrs (time starts on the first can). Also Bulletproof MCT oil in your coffee. Be sure you don’t have sneaky carbs like creamer or anything with Maltodextrin. Most keto products aren’t actually okay to eat if you want high ketones and weight loss/autophagy. One other thing. Be sure you add fat to your meat. High protein just converts to glucose giving you and insulin spike and ketones go down.
@@dodyh657 Well, it’s zero carb, high fat fish that has all the omega 3s you need in 1 can and your sure as heck aren’t going to overeat them but you can eat a can whenever you are hungry. Overeat anything and you get an insulin spike (kills Ketone production). Man it worked for me. Hot sauce is your friend. Be sure it doesn’t have sugar in the ingredients of course. You could do a water fast if you’re up for it but most people aren’t there yet. It’s an intermediate step perhaps. Sardines are definitely a super food to eat anytime though. Best kind of fat known to humanity.
@@dodyh657 please hop over to Dr. Boz her channel to learn more about WHY sardines will do the trick to bump up your metabolism and ketones. Long term low ketones can be caused by too high cortisol or too high protein and thus too much gluconeogensis.
I feel like Dr. Ekberg puts out the only content that i can never find anything i doubt or disagree with. Thanks for your knowledge, and thank you for doing these tests using yourself as the guinea pig.
Keto for 4 years. I stopped ALL diabetic medications and dropped my HBA1C from 11.7 to 6.5. I just recently took my size 44 pants to the GoodwIll and purchased size 36 pants. I have been in a size 40+ since high school and that was the 80's.
Dr. Sten have you already done a video on what happens to a person doing "Cheat Days" yet? One day where they claim even eating on keto, we can eat anything, like Dwayne Johnson's cheat days with extreme amount of carbs. Can our body really truly handle just one day of eating a diet like that every week?!
Great stuff! When people ask me how I look so good for my age, I often tell them it's my diet that is so very high in saturated fat. Lately I've been eating one meal a day often, too, and have felt *great.*
Ty for your videos! They are very helpful & educational. I fasted 7 days ,drinking water, zero cal sparkling water, & 2oz pickle juice each day. I need to lose weight & keto was hard to stick to. It's much easier for me to fast than to stick to a perm diet. Anyway, the 7 day fast kick started me in the right direction. My addiction for high carbs almost completely went way & much more manageable. I'm allergic to wheat! With 30min walking, I lost 2 lbs a day. Then, to end the fast, I had avocado, kimchi, chicken broth & a tsp of peanut butter spaced apart. I feel much better & have less pain all over. Pants are roomier & I now feel I can stay on keto. Ty again!
the first 3 days after starting Keto I was sick with withdrawl from carbs and sugar.. Now I feel great, it's only been two weeks so mostly water weight is gone but I'll keep it up.
I can absolutely vouch for a low carb high fat diet. It's like a secret weapon. When I felt like I needed to lose some weight I would get this diet out and ALWAYS lose a good amount of fat. I only did LCHF during the week Mon-Fri and then ate and drank whatever I wanted over the weekend, fast food and all and I always lost a LOT of fat
I did hardcore keto for 9 months like 5 years ago and i've never been able to get fat no matter what. I just stay lean. Now im doing carnivore, eating crap didnt make me fat but it doesn't make me feel good, sleepy all the time.
2 days all-out probably wasted 3-4 days of that Keto diet. Done Keto several times, and having a cheat day scheduled every x days/weeks is excellent for keeping out of a rut.
The Mediterranean diet is not that and it is the healthiest diet around. This is nonsense coming from an unqualified chitopractitioner, let alone a dietician.
2/2/24 I did bloodwork. 2/9/24 I started carnivore. I weighed 292# and as of 4/2 im down to 262#. I had a fasting advanced lipid panel on 3/26 and results scared me. My triglycerides jumped from 95 to 243, total Cholesterol from 186 to 310, HDL from 37 to 26, LDL FROM 130 TO 239. I eat eggs and bacon for breakfast and beef for dinner. no lunch with only water. Have 2 cups of black coffee in the morning
Thanks Doctor Ekberg. Thanks for sharing videos regarding health... Been watching your videos for 5 months now. And still keep on watching them..I've been learning a lot.

Dr. Sten, it was alarming to see how damaging a 10 day SAD diet was for your body and amazing how you were able to reverse your blood work numbers in only a month. You have helped me to keep on track; 2MAD, eating more or less what you've suggested.

Greetings from Venezuela. I started following your videos some weeks ago after taking a blood test that showed me a rise of triglycerides (492mg/dL) and fasting glucose (101 mg/dL). I reduced the amount of carbohydrates that I eat every day, I increased saturated fat and I walked 30 minutes per day. After 3 months I lost more than 10 kilos, my triglycerides decreased to 147, my cholesterol is at 277 and my fasting glucose decreased to 70. I cannot believe it. Thanks for your channel and for helping us to create healthy habits 🎉

@@DiegoAguilera What are your ketones measuring, and your feeding window size? Try walking faster, and adding exercise that raises your heart rate. Some dumbbell work would help. If your ketones are below 1 try decreasing carbs to 20g net carb. Protein good but not too high.
@@DiegoAguilera Hi. Sorry to change the topic a bit, but how was everything during your guys’ economic collapse? In the US, I’m looking for information on other countries for tips and information but can only find very basic and tainted information. Any suggestions for people in the US?
Somehow imagine that majority of people in Venezuela must be on KETO diet, due to constant fasting. So economic collapse is not always bad.

@@drekberg @drekberg - would love for you to discuss "Targeted Keto" where carbs are supplemented around times of intense exercise - for us gym goers, athletes, and bodybuilders.

I stopped eating the SAD way and switched to keto. I don’t eat vegetables because of multiple allergies. I feel better now than I did when I was forty.

Well done 👏

Oh how I wish this fantastic Doctor would put out some "shorts" and a few 10 minute or less videos. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.
😂😂😂 most people are trained to stay away from fatty food ❤
What is your daily meals?

A lot of what you're saying on the carnivore diet is because you cut the sugar.

The world needs more people like you
I am eating bacon and eggs and pork roast and chicken and green beans mostly and loosing weight fast.
God bless you.

good luck friend
With IF I found that it was easier to fast for the whole day. When I realised I wasn't going to actually come to harm, then the IF was easier. When I think I am hungry I drink a glass of water and wait 5 minutes. Its worth trying. Good luck ❤
You got this. Keep going. You owe it to yourself.
Nothing better confirms the knowledge you preach than the results.
Thx Doc for everthing.
I eat bacon, eggs and real butter everyday, for almost 50 years! I'm in great shape and feel wonderful!! ❤
And you look hot as well Honey.....❤😉
Do you melt the butter or eat it whole and which one salted or unsalted?
Great, on your picture you look only 25 talk about reverse aging 😮
You're not even 50 yrs old liar!
no i mix it up some oatmeal or lox and cream cheese and bread i shred bacon since no teeth and drain bacon and use butter not w bacon skip bread sometimes potatoes no bread no i dont use butter sometimes oil
Im now on full keto, started with 3 day water fasting (its not easy, especially 2nd day, just do it on the weekend and keep yourself ocupied, 3rd day you can chill.)
Im eating 1/3rd of what i've ate before, not feeling hungy, body fat is going down (c. 4 lbs /week) and have suprisingly high energy, just yesterday broken my front squat record.
I'll do the blodwork in a month to check what will happen.
Great advice here.
4Ibs a week is a lot - careful about falling off track! Goodluck!
Any update on the bloodwork?
Annie
PS Would you speak a few lines on a video in Swedish. It would be lovely to hear you speak your own language.
Thank you Doctor! You are doing amazing work and we are blessed to hear your wisdom.
My husbands doctor is so worried about cholesterol numbers-it’s irritating!?
Many blessings for being willing to experiment on yourself!!?? You are loved!!🥰
Hello Lil Crafty 👋… How are you doing?😊
I hope we can get these videos to the wider public so our society can move forward 💪
But everyone ate meat the rich would have to pay more.

Good luck with that 😂👻
This is a fantastic video!
I started eating mostly meat, it changed my life and health
Thank you @angelfriend3710 😄
I do the same but I still fast 16:8. I cant go to like India and not enjoy the curries and street foods. I just eat small portions and skip rice or bread always. There is ghee in everything.
I do exactly the same on vacation normally to Greece, i can't not enjoy all the greek food, so for 2 weeks i always break Keto/ low carb im not changing that tbh. also going to cornwall in June for 5 days - have to have a real cornish pasty and cornish ice cream, cream teas etc.
@@Futura2500 Doing the right thing for 50/52 weeks of the year is still 50 more weeks than like 99% of people do, lol.
IMO 👍👍👍👍👍👍😁
Read research mega-superstar Dr Arne Astrup’s review on Saturated Fats and Food in the 2020 Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
Lotta morons out there on you tube , G
Wow, that's amazing how triglycerides can jump just in 10 days of eating junk food 😵
Thank you for the valuable experiment!
It doesn't surprise me knowing the biochemistry.
If the mitochondria starts "spitting out" citrate everything goes wrong quickly. It's all about sugar, Randle cycle and the Warburg effect...
Valuable information… sad that hardly any doctor recommends this…your explanation is very clear. Thank you!
Hi. Sten….you are one the best Doctor in the INTERNET.. thank you very much
You always explain everything so clearly and succinctly. It is much appreciated. Once again, thank you, Dr. Ekberg! Namaste. 😃
Believe in Jesus Christ for Eternal Life.
Hello 👋….How are you doing?😊
Can you tell us roughly what your diet was, please?
Thank you for all that you do you’re changing billions of lives.
Gazillions even.

@@BeefNEggs057 Why sardine fast? What ITS correlation with ketones production?
@@BeefNEggs057 the sardines have the highest short chain fatty acids and create ketones by the liver without any delay in other body systems.
Thank you Dr Ekberg and team.
Great stuff! When people ask me how I look so good for my age, I often tell them it's my diet that is so very high in saturated fat. Lately I've been eating one meal a day often, too, and have felt *great.*
Amazing. This is a perfect experiment !!! Greeting from Caracas / Venezuela
Ty again!
I love that you explain things in good detail. It's very helpful.
Thank you Doctor Sten for doing that risky experiment to help all of us. Another example of your passion to help others❤😊
Next time please try to regrow your hair . You know , as a doctor , that you're losing almost 40% of body energy through the head , don't you ?
What risky experiment? I ate bad junk food for 40 years. 10 days isnt risky

Thank you for the clarity, Dr. Sten. I have a clear understanding and way forward to continue on clean keto.
the first 3 days after starting Keto I was sick with withdrawl from carbs and sugar.. Now I feel great, it's only been two weeks so mostly water weight is gone but I'll keep it up.
Doing IF and low carb about 6 months. -12 kg and feeling full of energy and better mood and focus. This is a wonderful secret many people don't know.
My friend also lost 30 kg in 6 month
I am a newbie to IF 8 days in I feel confused as to what to eat. There is so much more conflicting information out here.
