To ensure accuracy in the experiment, I suggest starting with a baseline week of testing without the vest. Following that, you can incorporate the vest for a week and conduct the tests again. In the third week, we can repeat the tests without the vest and compare the results from week one and three. This method will allow us to better understand the impact of wearing a 20-pound vest for a week. I hope this suggestion is helpful to you.

I don't use them on my 1 or 2 days off or jog with them (yet) but I have a skeletal issue and using these have helped in managing my health and increasing my gym performance.

@@calopsita4465 Yep. I might start off with doing some 'rucking' on good terrain close to home that won't be brutal on your joints. Toss 40lb or so in a pack and do a short hike on relatively even terrain, then up the distance repeatedly. As someone who has joint problems from long-term carrying of a lot of extra weights over all sorts of environments, at 51 I'd want to be careful. Obviously they're not a beginner as they're doing snow-shoe hikes period, but I'd be careful about integrating 'just add weight' to day to day life with all of its variable requirements on the joints. 'Training hikes' over less uneven terrain with a heavier pack would probably be safer for the knees and ankles, get the body used to hauling a 40-50lb pack and a 30lb pack will feel substantially lighter even over a longer trail.

Lost 50,7 kgs in the last 9 month (doing Keto & Omad). Been big since late teens really, so got rejected by the military & basicly been having a 40 to 70 kgs "weight vest" on for 30 years. Its kinda weird to finally have the "vest" off, but it certainly is noticable. A bit hard to measure of cause because Keto also means that you loose muscle when fasting but regaining when eating & its a lot of protein too. Of cause before i got winded just taking a few steps & now i can run up stairs. Not that im afraid of doing a "elephant in a glass store" but i cant help myself walking a bit carefully still. Changing habits takes time i guess :)

i wear weightbands on each lower arm, each 5kg. on my legs 5kg each. a weightbelt which weights 10kg and a weight vest which is 15kg since a few years now. i wear them everywhere, even at work, and only take the vest and belt off for shower, and i take all of the weight off when i sleep.
it builds a LOT of endurance and improves one´s condition overall. i feel very good and my body isnt complaining at all, my muscles are already adapted to the weight. i recommend this for many young people that want a fine figure without hard workout, the weight on its own is already a workout on itself with just walking, let alone jogging, running, going to work, and doing lifting and laundry. its a challenge, but thats the best part.

From what I remember hearing (from multiple sources and multiple people's tests), you do get somewhat better, but the cons tend to outweigh the benefits, for example:
You can get faster, but the amount is negligible for an average person (Something like a tenth of a second over 10 feet?), and the risk of injury is greater than it's worth for the professional runners.
You get stronger slightly, but the risk is really high, once again. Same for stamina, it's an improvement, but less than one would hope.
You get a bit more agile, this is probably more helpful than any of the others. On a daily basis, I don't need to run at 100% speed, rarely lift over 30 pounds, and don't often run for any long amount of time, but tripping over the dog (or my own 2 feet) is a common occurrence, thus this is probably more helpful than anything else.
Would I do it? No. I may only be 23, but I know my body wouldn't be happy if I tried that, and I don't want to risk injuring myself, either. Of course, results may vary, but the general consensus is that you won't get super ultra stronger by doing this, not like Goku. Weights can help during short periods of exercise, but more than that and you don't get as many benefits as one might expect.

Yeh so u start out lighter and slowly build up, anything causes injury if you go too hard too quickly. Injuries just come from doing too much that ur body can't handle, there aren't really cons if u start light

@@raymondqiu8202 Not... entirely accurate. From my limited knowledge, anything excess could cause problems, it all depends on the person, medical history, etc. It *can* help some people, but it could also cause problems. Basically, everyone who reads this, be aware of your body and do what is best for it, your millage *will* vary, weighted clothing might help some people, but it isn't a guarantee it will help you, passerby reader.

    re your sternum
i m guessing you automatically enhance the tension in the intercostal region. the entire chest area will create adequate tension to equalize the pressure of the harness you re wearing. it makes sense that you re feeling your sternum since your pectoral muscles are so well trained. its the area that gets the most pressur.
so i guess its a counter pressure symptom. it certainly trains your chest also.. but if it feels to uncomfortable, maybe losening up the harnes does the trick.

The gain is not permanent. If you thought what's the catch. Once your body realises the body weight is gone. You metabolism slows down and your muscles deflate. Consistency is the key. You are better off wearing 4 hours per day every day for a long time.
