  • The strictest form of carnivore. The liondiet. I ate zero carbs and zero fiber for 3 days! The results were actually very quick and impressive in my opinion. But then I eat carbs again and document the rebound!

    I used the lion diet to figure out if i was allergic to different food. Its how I discovered i am allergic to soy. Which is in EVERYTHING. One month of lion diet. First 2 weeks no black coffee. I added in black coffee the last 2 weeks. While doing this type of diet I discovered it takes my digestive system 2 weeks to adapt to new foods. 3 days on the lion diet is not long enough to get the full effect. You more or less did a 72 hour carb fast....

      I'd actually recommend he should eat some oatmeal, maybe a carrot and the blueberries he was wanting. • @jonathanbohl
      @jonathanbohl 11 місяців тому +8

      @@IsaacMorgan98 That sounds more like a whole food diet. Balanced diet means different things to different people. A balanced diet to a panda is mostly bamboo. A balanced diet to a koala is mainly eucalyptus leaves. Many people who eat the lion diet diet because they discovered the ill effects of eating plants.

    • @IsaacMorgan98
      @IsaacMorgan98 11 місяців тому

      @jonathanbohl Yeah that's it! A whole foods diet, man you feel great! For the overwhelming majority of people, there's no stressing over health concerns, it's affordable, there's a century of high quality research backing it up, and it's also how primates have eaten since before there was even a human!
      Man I love it and my results speak for themselves, I'm 6 foot, jacked, lean, I have boundless energy, my sleep is 👌, all my blood work is perfect, my blood pressure is good, my resting heart rate is on the low end of normal. Man you gotta try it, so few people eat like this and I have no idea why, just straight up a balanced diet consisting of whole foods. The trick is in a balance of whole foods though, gotta eat a little bit of as many different things as you can. And leave out the junk food like refined carbs and stuff made in a lab thats not even food 😉 that's the killer right there.

    Id advise getting as much info as you can from carnivore diet folks and push for at least a month and a half. Also occasionally adding some salt to your water can give you some energy. And that diet is all about eating fat. Im starting a long term run on this diet after a few failed attempts myself. Also id also advise no excercise until you get through the carb withdrawal, keto flu.

      The muscles do run on carbs. However, electrolytes are at the basis of muscle fiber contraction just as it is also the basis of peristalsis in the colon. This is probably why you felt, at first, lethargic and out of energy. The body used up its carb storage in the muscle fibers, but by keeping your fat and salt high, you kept the correct balance for hormone and neurotransmitter activity.

    Respect for trying for at least few days!
    To experience full benefits you need a month at minimum, ideally 3 months though. Increase the fat intake, especially when craving carbs and add some electrolytes. Once you're adapted you will no longer crave carbs and you will enjoy the meat more.
    If you really want to cycle, try adapting first by doing it for a few weeks and start cycling afterwards.

      Nah, he didn't do it long enough. It needs at least 3-4 weeks to see changes. Losing the water weight is not a problem, the reason why it goes away so fast is that the body uses water to store glucose. When you burn up your glucose stores and swap into ketosis, your body sheds all the extra water. The mistake he made in that regard was not increasing his salt consumption enough, which is why he didn't feel great.

    Great Video. I love all your videos. If you could do a MCT Oil Challenge for a week video, I would love to see that. 1 Tablespoons MCT oil in Coffee blended with frother before your workout daily. Then another 1 tablespoon in your sommothie or salad dressing at a meal. Don’t worry it is tasteless. Just a word of caution you may want to start with a teaspoon at first and work your way up to 2 tablespoons as it is known to cause some people to s*it themselves if they start with too big a dose too soon and don’t allow themselves to adapt. Also just to equate for calories and fat, I would add it as a substitute for fat in your macros and calories and not addition. I would be curious to see if you find any benefit to greater fat loss or improved body composition. There is lots of conflicting and anecdotal info out there both ways, so I think it may be a worthy of a challenge. I am experimenting with it but not daily. I only consume it with coffee before my intense cardio sessions 3 times a week. While I notice super enhanced focus and energy to power through those workouts, it’s too early to say if there is any enhanced fat loss benefits with my calories and macros equated.

The moment someone a bit overweight would try the lion diet and go back after 72 hours to eat carbs, he/she would feel like shit next day... maybe most people know this but wanted to point it out🙃
    Edit: the lethargy you are talking about in the video is due to 2 things: you normally eat a lot of carbs + your body fat % is pretty low. Moreover 2900 calories, whatever you eat, is quite optimumt if you exercise every day...

    Strict Carnivore diet eater here, nobody probably cares but It has been one of the best decisions I ever made. 97% of the food/drinks I consume is from animals, I pretty much always look for farms that make sure the animals have a good life and not just slaughtered asap, I also get lean beef too. I actually used to eat alot of Vegan stuff but my Body Fat got too low (in a bad way) my body was looking horrible and I was getting barely any sleep at night if not none. I got made fun of because my arms had no muscle on them. I saw the Carnivore diet a long while ago and finding Tristyn Lee the body builder and decided to give it a try for 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks I’ve been getting a full 8 hours of sleep if not more, My mental health felt better. I kept going and after a year I’ve been gaining a lot of muscle while working out the same and gained a lot of weight. I haven’t been getting sick as much as I used to, definitely 100% not as many headaches/Viruses. However a trade is my acne has gotten somewhat worse, Def more expensive, and that’s really the only complaint. This comment isn’t to change your mind on wether or not to go carnivore, But this is my experience. I’m officially 5 years into a almost strict Carnivore diet and I won’t look back.
