Thank you so much for your uploads, crossing between Detroit and Windsor, it's fascinating to watch the actual border crossings, no barbed wire, no soldiers, just like normal driving between two points, we just don't realize how good we have it, on both sides of the "international line," I like your choice of music, too.

Kewl ! You can also take a reg City bus from windsor to Detroit Rosa Parks station and transfer on to their systems DDOT and SMART You can also take that same bus from Rosa Parks to downtown Windsor. Its a reg bus route just like any other on the windsor or Detroit side. Far as i know, were the only ones that have this kind of service anywhere ! Great if you want to do a day trip and leave the car at home. !

First time I have ever seen a tunnel that has onciming traffic in the opposite lane. Here in Baltimore, the tunnels have 2 lanes each heading the same direction (North & South). No worries about headlights being in your eyes. Slow traffic that day. Great video otherwise.

Yes, for non-commercial vehicles( Autos, Pickup, Vans, RVs) using the Detroit to Windsor tunnel there is US $5 or Canadian $6.25 from Detroit to Windsor and US $4.50 or Canadian $4.25 from Windsor to Detroit.
hi I'm trying to stay at the Best Western waterfront in Windsor Canada and I'm confused on if you need a passport to go in & out of there to downtown Detroit ?
Paris Rudolph Passport is not a requirement but it is highly recommended. If you don't have a U. S. passport then bring all proof of identification and citizenship.
I believe a Password or Enhanced Drivers License is required now to cross.

Birth Certificate should be enough proof of Citizenship for minors to cross the Canadian border from Detroit by land/sea but I highly recommend for her to have a passport.
I agree with TagumMotorcity, Just my experiences if you get a good DHS agent especially on the U.S side then you can get away with a birth certificate but passport or Enhanced Drivers license are technically required and they will more than ask why you don't have one, but its not like they won't let you back in. Canada is usually more casual about it but they too require a passport or some form of ID card that shows proof of citizenship.

Short answer is "YES". A complicated answer is ->Technically all you need to show to the Canadian Border Patrol is a proof of identification and citizenship to cross the border through land from U.S. to Canada. A driver's license and a birth certificate will be sufficient but U.S. citizens can no longer cross the border, back into the US, from Canada, using only a driver's licence and birth certificate. So you need a U.S. Passport for that. A Michigan resident can apply for an "Enhanced Driver's License" that includes your Passport information to your driver's license. An "Enhanced Driver's License" will be sufficient to cross from Canada to US. There is also a NEXUS card that everyone can apply. The NEXUS program allows pre-screened travelers expedited processing when entering the United States and Canada. Program members use dedicated processing lanes at designated northern border ports of entry, NEXUS kiosks when entering Canada by air and Global Entry kiosks when entering the United States via Canadian Preclearance airports. NEXUS members also receive expedited processing at marine reporting locations. In other words, if you will be driving to Canada then you plan to stay there for good then you don't need a U.S. Passport for that. :). A U.S. Passport is a must coming back from Canada to America. Hope you will enjoy your trip with your wife. Be safe and please come back and have your passport ready. :)
You only need a birth certificate to drive but passport to fly. I went in March through Detroit Michigan and only used birth certificate

Don't be scared. If you haven't book a rental car then there are a lot of rental car place in the airport. You can use the "Detroit to Windsor tunnel" or the Ambassador bridge heading to Windsor.

Now I heard stories that some have to wait up to 2 hours to confirm the COVID-19 vaccine card and the negative results prior to crossing the border).

Susanna Kim As of this writing if you are an American Citizen trying to cross the border through land from USA to Canada, passport is not a requirement but highly recommended. Current US driver's license, (even not the enhanced one) will be okay. If you fly then a passport is a requirement.

I have read so far that we will need to have our car in good condition, auto insurance in Canada, and a valid drivers license. Is that all true? I am not sure if my auto insurance covers Canada. Susanna Kim Major U.S. auto insurance covers all of U.S.A. and Canada. Are you visiting a friend? Driving alone with family? Staying in a hotel? Do you already have an itenirary? If you are bringing "a lot of stuff" in your car then it might be a red flag if you are just driving around there. Don't make it appear that you are moving there.
Okay! Thanks! I am visiting my boyfriend actually. I have also applied to attend university there in September this year (waiting to see if I get accepted or not.) I plan to eventually be able to at least become a permanent resident there. For this visit I wanted to figure out how I will be able to obtain these goals.
