I live in Windsor. There is a listing in the family tree for a Patrick Robinet, son of Ulysse Robinet and Yvonne Meloche. Is it you? My Email address is philrobinet@outlook.com
It seems that Windsor was a beautiful little town. And now it's quite ugly, very mismanaged, and dilapidated. The poor city follows the trends of the times, like other places, and has no sense of the perennial, nor the sublime, nor any sense of beauty. There are a few timeless pockets, but very lost at large, and awkwardly existing alongside modern ugliness. Not just physically, but socially as well. Poor, poor hometown. There is little order in this place. These photographs are a treasure to behold. A small sidenote; You should despise the North-American mindset of building fast and cheap. Poor places like Windsor needs people who know traditional trades, and have traditional values and do not cut corners. Poor, poor place this is. What a joke. I do love and care for this place.
@Magyar126 Says the one who can't spell Windsorites properly. If you're going to attempt to make fun of something, at least don't make a fool out of yourself by using the wrong terminology.
Thanks for the visual history lesson! Windsor has come a long way and things are looking up!
This is great for my history research! Thanks so much!
Great Video
Great video Thanks.
I would have never recognized Hotel Dieu Hospital from the 1920 picture.
The tune is called Bolero by Maurice Ravel
Well scored! Now, If I could only remember the name of that tune...
Should have done before and after pics and added the actual locations of where things were.
It might be a good idea to mention which Windsor this is to avoid confusion with others, such as in England.
Say's Windsor Ontario is there a Windsor Ontario in England?
@robinetphil Thanks!
