This stage of Pantera was undeniably true Texas power metal in its day. Absolutely badass! Another singer to check out is James Rivera with Helstar. Some early work from Remnants of War or Nosferatu. Talk about hitting those highs!! 🤘😎
One of my favorite Pantera songs. Showcases the band's talent and proves they aren't a 1-trick pony, as Phil's provided an opportunity to showcase his singing talent and Dimebag shreds melodic runs that are as hummable as they are memorable.
It would be nice if Phil could still sing like that. Unfortunately all the drugs, smoking, drinking, not warming up and age have pretty much stripped any resemblance of this version of Phil’s voice away.
Who ever said they were 1 trick? Lol they were a hair metal band at one point, thrash metal, they pretty much invented groove metal, southern metal, and could do some epic almost Alice in chains esque clean or acoustic stuff too
Phil stopped hitting the high notes in this song a long time ago but last I saw them play live with Zak Phil sounded pretty good I thought. Especislky for his age. I've heard much worse
9:40 that was the look we were all waiting for, knowing that part was coming. Trust me we get it. Our faces looked like that too! These guys were absolutely amazing!!!!!
I grew up one street over from Dimebag (the guitarist) and one of my best friends lived across the street from him and he was one of nicest people you’d ever want to meet, very humble and down to earth. Really been enjoying your last few reactions even more than I usually do. Alice In Chains and Pantera are right in my wheelhouse..:)
I was a guitarist in a thrash metal band back in the late 80's and early 90's and Pantera was a big influence on me. Wish I could had seen them, but living in another country then!
Oh man I LOVE the song "The Art of Shredding". I remember editing it on my PC back in the 90s to make a longer version of it because it was just so good.
That was really fun watching you rock-out to this. I wouldn't have expected an opera singer to get so invested or engage so deeply with a heavy-metal song. Your face when the song intensifies, so joyful and cute.
One of my top ten Metal songs for sure. Definitely listen to the full version in your own time. It's a shame that wasn't the reaction, most people find the edited version. The full one has a smooth and beautiful intro and doesn't drop you in the deep end like this one 😊 👍
I love this song so much for so many reasons, but Dime's sick solo on top of the different riffs, each being so legendary and to top it off with his string falsetto just blows my mind. Masterpiece of a song all the way around, especially when you experience the full version!
Another great reaction! I couldn't wait for you to hear the ending, because I knew it would leave you almost speechless. Thanks for sharing, and please take care.
Your face reminds me of myself everytime I come back to this song ❤️ ive laughed, cried, got angry, got sad... everything from that music ☺️ nice react!
I think that's one of the best guitar solos ever. Not just because he shreds like Dimebag Darryl but also because of the melody and the emotion it has. It's one of those solos that aren't just showing off but serving the song and an integral part of it
Great reaction as usual Aaliyah! This is a good intro to Pantera. Most of their stuff is heavier than this but you get some heaviness along with showing off the range in Phil’s voice.
I grew up listening to show tunes with a hugely talented mother. Incredible soprano in her own right. There is something operatic to this song too. Also, he had a pink beard 😶😭 RIP Dime
There are two bands that changed metal. Guns'n'roses when they came with Appetite in the middle och hairmetal and 5 min solos.... Pantera when they took the thrashiness from metalica, megadeth, exodus with infuences of growl from deathmetal and kicked as and made the hardest, badest music MTV could show! Cementary Gates is a beautiful song! RIP the amazing brothers!
Was waiting until the song got to the end and Phil just goes nuts with those high vocals. Warms this old dude's heart to see younger kids appreciating some of the music we grew up on
Im not even a big pantera fan but every time i hear this song, im impressed lol. The switch ups, the drums, back up vocals, dimebag matching the vocals and of course the vocals in general.
One of the Greatest Bands of All Time. Glad you listened to it. Had the same reaction as you the first time I heard this in the 90's (the last part). I recommend listening to Rage Against the Machine and Nirvana as well ( Just to test out different genres of that time).
Hello Aaliyah! Nice to see you again! I'm from HTOWN(Houston) and I enjoy their music. Not because they're from Texas. They just brought it everytime! RIP to the Abbott bros. 🙏 Thanks for sharing 👍
Fantastic reaction Aaliyah. I don't know why UA-cam didn't notify me when you released this video. Especially as I was one of the ones campaigning for you to react to this song. A lot of the singers and vocal coaches that react to this song listen for Phil's singing but are also left mesmerised by Dimebag's guitar playing.
Welcome to the beautiful world of metal music young lady. It's nice to see the younger generation opening up their ears and hearts to these amazing sounds.
I was getting excited near the end because I knew when Phil and Dime did the high pitch voice guitar battle would blow your mind! Great reaction! Your face said it all. I've stated before that there is musical genius in creating songs like this.
I love your reactions. You are realizing just how great some voices in metal really are. I have the same reactions as you do, only it’s after decades of listening to it. I still react the same way as i did upon hearing it the first time.
From what I remember this song was about Phil losing him mom or something. But the song itself is about experiencing some great loss and finally facing it. "And when she died I should have cried to spare myself some pain" hard hitting lyric that has some deep meaning. This song will always live on.
I love when people outside of a time experience a time. I experienced the same with the "before my time" oldies, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Floyd, etc. The best that came before us were the best that came before us for a reason.
This is recorded in the 90's when you actually had to execute your skill with precision. Now everyone is a studio rockstar, copy/paste and go out on tour with backing tracks. Oh how times have changed.
So great to see you « open » your smile and attitude less « shy » as we can really see how open minded you are musically and your huge knowledge, even not considering your age. And Im a musician and former guitar teacher. Step by step you are became now a professionnal réactor !! Love your channel! By the way, great réaction, check « Domination » and « Walk » by Pantera too ( sorry not well explaining my thoughts, Im french 😁😊)
You're so Beautiful and your reactions are so genuine, which makes you look even more beautiful, of course being an Opera singer I won't forget to say that you're so talented as well... oh! and did I mention that you're beautiful? loved this video and everything you do, keep up the great effort, I'll be waiting for more of your reactions!!
Instant headbanger, love seeing people whose musical genre is 180% away from Pantera and instantly become a fan. You're adorable and genuine in your critique and I hope you continue your journey into this music that I have experienced live and Pantera continues to my favorite and best groove metal band of all time!!!! RIP DIME 🎸 AND 🥁 VINNIE
Just here because its so fun watching folks react to these bands. Especially when they aren't necessarily fans of metal, but they can appreciate the skill of the musicians. One thing to note though, lyrics videos might not be as exciting but usually have the full song vs this one where the melodic intro was snipped.

Rip dime and Vinny! But Zack, and Charlie were awesome, keep on rocking guys FUCKING HOSTILE !!!
LOL! I made the same face you made at the end of the song the first time I listened to it... almost 33 years ago when I purchased the album! Congratulations; very good reaction, young lady!
9:42. This is the response that people are waiting for when they watch someone react to this song for the first time. Yo…her face at the end is absolutely priceless when Phil hits those high notes and dime whammy squeals…this was a true reaction. Loved it!
Made me laugh a lot!
Thank you very much😍
This stage of Pantera was undeniably true Texas power metal in its day. Absolutely badass! Another singer to check out is James Rivera with Helstar. Some early work from Remnants of War or Nosferatu. Talk about hitting those highs!! 🤘😎
That’s the part I fast forwarded to. 😂
Phil’s voice 😱, dimes guitar 🤯. 😭😂
Best outro ever.
Watching peoples faces reacting to this song is one of my favorite hobbies. Goosebumps every time
🥰🥰🥰
Sorry I had 46 likes then I had to renew cuz that's biden's number
My favorite part of all these reaction channels is when Phil hits THOSE NOTES!!! It always hits them unexpected! Love it!
😍😍😍
Literally watch all the reactions for just that one part hahahaha the reactions are PRICELESS!!!
@@BboyMunkey 🤣🤣 I do the same, it's always so much fun to see their faces change whern they hear this part.
One of my favorite Pantera songs. Showcases the band's talent and proves they aren't a 1-trick pony, as Phil's provided an opportunity to showcase his singing talent and Dimebag shreds melodic runs that are as hummable as they are memorable.
If only they weren't a fucking Nazi band... I'm sorry but that kinda trumps everything and anything they ever did.
😍♥️😍
It would be nice if Phil could still sing like that. Unfortunately all the drugs, smoking, drinking, not warming up and age have pretty much stripped any resemblance of this version of Phil’s voice away.

I loved how you were just sitting there and couldn't say anything for a few seconds, there at the end, because it was so amazing
😍😍😍
I grew up one street over from Dimebag (the guitarist) and one of my best friends lived across the street from him and he was one of nicest people you’d ever want to meet, very humble and down to earth. Really been enjoying your last few reactions even more than I usually do. Alice In Chains and Pantera are right in my wheelhouse..:)
AIC and Pantera were the kings of the 90s
Thank you very much Mr. Ryan
Pantera are legendary! I saw them live in 1992. It was amazing to see them perform this song live. I'm so blessed to have that experience.
🥰
I was a guitarist in a thrash metal band back in the late 80's and early 90's and Pantera was a big influence on me. Wish I could had seen them, but living in another country then!
that was great, i love your reaction, another good one, Pantera, the art of shredding.
Glad you enjoyed it🥰🥰🥰
Oh man I LOVE the song "The Art of Shredding". I remember editing it on my PC back in the 90s to make a longer version of it because it was just so good.
One of my favorite Pantera songs. Dimebag Darrell’s guitar grind and riffs is amazing. RIP Dimebag
🌺
I listened to pantera riding my bmx to work ,I'm 46 now and still my favourite music just beautiful

When you said he definitively has range I was just like wait. Great reaction.
Thanks so much🌺
The great thing about these reaction videos is seeing you experience 1992 just like we did when we first heard this song :)
Thank you so much, they are so amazing
Love your reactions, never miss them.
hahahaha 9:43 THAT'S why we are here for!
Thank you, Aaliyah. You make our day every time!
Oh thank you very much

The end of the song always makes peoples jaws drop Daryl following Phils vocal runs with his guitar.
🥰
I felt the same way when I heard Phil's high notes followed by Dimebags high notes mimicking the same high notes. Your reaction was priceless. ❤❤

Anyone else tear up just a little, knowing how happy this would make Dime and Vinnie?
🌺🌺🌺
No
the end of this song is what we call ''letting a guitar scream'' dimebag was a master of letting the guitar turn into a vocal expression.
Thanks for sharing💕
You gotta listen to the audio version, the video starts off differently then the actual recording. Love this reaction ❤
Thanks for the info
Loved hopping on and seeing this, keep up the good stuff!!😊

9:42. This is the response that people are waiting for when they watch someone react to this song for the first time. When Phil hits the first high note in that back and forth between him and Dime on the guitar. Shivers every time I hear it.
