It really pulls on your heart strings a bit to know that you have an appreciation for something that legitimately has its place. That this is not some cheap imitation of something else but a real appreciable passion.
Totally. I always appreciate when well trained/experienced singers or composers or what have you break down what they are hearing and appreciate the major skill that these kind of groups have and demonstrate routinely in thier music, that so many people bag on because 'it's just noise'.

Watching someone witness Pantera for the first time, and being so taken with it, makes me appreciate Pantera so much more even though I've been listening to them for over half my life now. Amazing.
It was actually really fun! She just provided a therapy for us all who never really had a place to express how it affected each of us as even though we all shared in the loss everyone has a personal story and meaning! One song can mean something so different between us and when and where it brings us to and how or why it got us through some moment in time and YET EVERY SINGLE ONE IS CORRECT! IT APPLIES ACROSS THE BOARD TO EACH OF US EQUALLY! And seeing her reaction for me just made it the first time in a long time that I can listen without the sadness I seemed to feel like I was required to carry out of respect and was like Dime & Vin saying through her... it's okay! We know you guys rode for us so it's cool to listen again and laugh, enjoy and get back to smashing shit with a smile! For me anyway! I can only hope the same finds its way to anyone else that might need that as well! She just opened a window I had shut for awhile and said it's cool to let some air in again! I was like.... Oh yeah! So I thank her! A TON!

I’ve heard this song a bazillion times and never noticed the echo of the “sss” in “gates” at the beginning of the guitar solo. Great ears
I literally took a mixing masterclass which we mixed this song, and the instructor (who was a veteran professional engineer) had us do two mixes, one where we try to match as closely as possible to the original, and one where you try to entirely do your own thing. The instructor didn't even notice that, not one person did that delay on the S.
Agreed. Bazillions. Never noticed. Gurl is good

I couldn't agree more! I can remember the time the place the smell in the air and the way that I felt I was hooked on Pantera instantly
It has been 17 years since Dimebag Darrell was murdered, and he still remains to this day one of the finest guitarists to have walked this planet. And I miss him even more after this reaction.
I agree completely. Shit where did the time go?

Also a damn fine human being. Went and got drunk with my friend a few days later in his honor (Black Toooooth!) and passed out on the couch next to one of my friends kids. That's in College now, wtffff
He carried a totally different sound than the other greats.
Metal enthusiasts really get a high from hearing music professionals compliment the music they appreciate. It really pulls on your heart strings a bit to know that you have an appreciation for something that legitimately has its place. That this is not some cheap imitation of something else but a real appreciable passion.
Well said.
Totally. I always appreciate when well trained/experienced singers or composers or what have you break down what they are hearing and appreciate the major skill that these kind of groups have and demonstrate routinely in thier music, that so many people bag on because 'it's just noise'.
