For another metal performance that would thrill you, I'd definitely recommend Iron Maiden's Hallowed Be Thy Name from their Hammersmith 1982 show. Bruce Dickinson, as you seem to know already, is one of the greatest singers around. Iced Earth's song Dante's Inferno is another great listen, and Matt Barlow could hook you with his operatic style. Heavy Metal is an understated well of fantastic technique. 😊🖤

So happy you're reacting to Pantera! If you can take some intense music, suggest listening to Suicide Note 1 & 2 together to hear Phil's different singing/screaming styles... since you're a singer. Otherwise, you could try Hollow, Heresy, the Art of Shredding or This Love. Since you're an opera singer, I think these are better for singing.
The dueling solos at the end is the stuff of Legend. Phil vocalizes and competes with Dimebag's guitar at the end. This Love is a good one, its almost like their version of a ballad. And the reactions to this song really get to miss the actual Intro. Just make sure to check it out when you can, you will see why. Phil has another band called Down, you should check out Stone the Crow. Little bit different on his vocals there as well.

I've commented many times that a vocal coach/singer who reacts hasn't earned their stripes until they react to this song. The reason being that Phil's vocals are at times soft, graveling, belting, and of course the note duel with the guitar at the end is something in and of itself. ~Be Blessed

Pantera is summed up mainly in 4 albums... this is Cowboys from hell (pissed off) and goes all the way to southern trendkill (seeing red).... they get angrier and heavier as you progress through the albums lol this was off the cowboys album. Just saw them opening for Metallica! Every 40 something was there to see them
I appreciate your effort to do a lot of extra research on the song. You've got a new subscriber!!! 🥰💙 Phil Anselmo was a phenomenal vocalist, and absolutely one of the best in the rock genre. Unfortunately, he'd developed serious addictions to heroin and alcohol, and exercised extremely damaging vocal techniques. He can still sing with distortion well, but he doesn't have a lot of range anymore. He's become a very different vocalist over the years. I'd really recommend doing a reaction to David Bowie. A 3-part song called Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing (Reprise). It combines the stylings of soul music, glam rock, proto-punk, and rock n' roll to create a very distinct experience. I'd recommend a video with the lyrics in description, from a channel called Southern Rocker, because correct lyrics are hard to find on a lyric video or on Google. You're probably a little familiar with David Bowie, but I swear his range and technique on that suite will really be something special for you. Keep on keeping on!!! 😄🙂

That soundtrack was fucking amazing. Ministry, Pantera, and Megadeth. But then Aretha Franklin and James Brown thrown in. The soundtrack was better then the movie.
Panteras song Death Rattle was on an episode of spongebob as an insrumental called Pre-Hibernation. First time I heard them as a kid and now I have Pantera tatted across my back lol. Glad you like the band they're a group that really gave it their all..and like most legends they're time came early. Rip Dimebag and Vinnie keep the other side rockin' brothers.
I know why Pantera decided to go heavier and heavier with their music, but this song showed Phil's full range. Some of the notes he hits on the ablum (not just this song) are unbelievable. Quite honestly he could have placed on the same pedestal with Tate, Dickinson and Halford in time, but that's not the way they went and even though I love Pantera's sound (which never got better than Vulgar Display of Power, in my opinion), I wish Phil had continued to sing the way his did in this song.
Rex is easily one of the greatest 90s metal if not among the top metal bass players and is extremely over looked as a bass player because of the people's life stories hes played with. And also you left out the beautiful beginning of the song.
It's one of my favorites from Pantera great reaction Maggie awesome the guitar solo and guitar, vocal harmonization were spot on. The overall arrangement of this song is perfect, I like your little red stratocaster.
New sub here cause being a 62 yr old Metal Head former Bassist I love your reaction. I was also classically trained. but chose a deep metal fry voice I sadly no longer have yet I STILL love all things metal and a bit of classical
Saw them live with White Zombie and Megadeath. Phil had us in the palm of his hand. I swear if he had told us to go skipping through the parking lot we would have done it!
1991 I was 21 y.o. Yes that time was vinyl, cassette and CD-s was new and expecive : One vinyl fullalbum was 300 rubel / 3USD; casette (MC) 190 rubel / 1,90 USD ; CD 750 rubel / 7,50 USD but month neto salary was 25.000 rubel / 250 USD.
In Dimebag's early days - high school era - he would enter battle of the bands-type competitions - solo - and always win. Eventually, because of his reputation, they wouldn't let him compete, but still play if he wanted to. So, he did. Many people would show up just to watch him play, the leave the venue when he left the stage. Eddie Van Halen had his original Frankenstein guitar buried with Dimebag.
Original singer were Donnie Hart and bass player Tommy D. Bradford.Terry Glaze aka Terrence Lee Glaze took over on vocals and Rex Brown on bass. Darrell Abbott was called Diamond Darrell in their glam days, Rex Brown was Rex Rocker. Their first 3 albums were in the glam genre but the Solos too heavy to be called glam. A great example are All Over Tonight. The first 3 albums were produced by the Abbott brothers dad Jerry Abbott

Goosebumps all the time when listening Pantera...Epic!
🎸🎸🎸 we've woken up the demon inside of Miss Maggie with increasingly heavier metal songs
So glad you enjoyed! See you tomorrow! 🎸😊💖
1.... My favorite band of all time and saw them a million times... Even during there GLAM years. Rip Abbot Bros

I have seen them do it live. they are the most incredible band ever
Heck yeah. Can you king Diamond. He is a metal singer. He has an amazing operatic voice.

@@maggiereneemusic I haven’t seen it yet. I will now.
😍
I saw them in 92 opening for Skid Row and me and my friends along with half the civic center walked out before seeing the main act. We just knew nothing could compete with what we just witnessed.
Floor Jansen and her husband Hannes van Dahl bonded over cigars, wiskey and Pantera 😎😍🦄
I literally was scrolling down just to see if someone was going to mention it! One of the best metal couples of all time met and fell for each other because of Pantera! Somehow not surprised it was you good sir 👍

@@maggiereneemusic Yup, straight tone versus spinning, inflection versus big sound maybe, Mix of Opera and parlor/chambre music ?
😍
Got my jaw dislocated in the pit at this concert lol... Such a good time!
Dimebag is a Mount Rushmore guitarist
Dont have to be a metal head to love and appreciate the level of talent that these guys had. Love the excitement, Maggie!
This band is from a town about 30 minutes from where i live.

I enjoyed this. :D Find another Pantera tune to react to. You'll be surprised to hear his vocals on a song like Slaughtered.

You gonna do another Pantera tune and be STUNNED by Phil's versatile vocals?
Dam man I still get shivers when I hear pantera that's Y I love them so much I still listen tae them well over 20 year later
Go look up a Phil Anselmo interview just to hear his speaking voice which is one of the deepest speaking voices ever it always amazes me that he can hit those high notes with that voice....
I've commented many times that a vocal coach/singer who reacts hasn't earned their stripes until they react to this song. The reason being that Phil's vocals are at times soft, graveling, belting, and of course the note duel with the guitar at the end is something in and of itself. ~Be Blessed
Easily in the top 10 best metal songs of all time!

They created a new genre, GROOVE METAL. Righteous contribution.
If you like this, you should listen to the song "This Love" from the album Vulgar Display of Power
I thought this song was incredible the first time I heard it too. I fell in love with their music instantly, and was lucky enough to see them live twice. 🖤🤘
You should check out Pantera’s “Cowboys from Hell”. Definition of “groove metal”
heard this song every morning in my car on my way to work, back then to get me started.

@@maggiereneemusic I did. Metallica is my favorite heavy metal band. I loved your reaction; “One” is a staple of the band’s sound. Very unique song organization

@@maggiereneemusic I was very nto Metallica. Didn´t enjoy their Albums after the Black one that much, but i will watch your recent Reaction soon. Didn´t even know you did one. Let´s see :-D

I like you reactions to heavy riffs 🎸🎸🎸 so much! Thank you for reaction to one of the best Pantera songs! Did you reacted to any Halestorm songs? Do you know Lzzy Hale? If not, you must hear it, her screams are godlike!

Phil Anselmo was a phenomenal vocalist, and absolutely one of the best in the rock genre.

Also, this song was featured on the 'Tales from the Crypt: Demon Night' movie's soundtrack.
That soundtrack was fucking amazing. Ministry, Pantera, and Megadeth. But then Aretha Franklin and James Brown thrown in. The soundtrack was better then the movie.
Listen the complete version, is better...
Got to see them live at ozzfest in 2000, one of my top 3 shows
I listened to it just about a month ago, and cannot get enough of it. Such a great song! And the full version with an intro is an absolutely must too!
Rex is easily one of the greatest 90s metal if not among the top metal bass players and is extremely over looked as a bass player because of the people's life stories hes played with.
And also you left out the beautiful beginning of the song.
Great introduction to Pantera! Awesome reaction!

It's one of my favorites from Pantera great reaction Maggie awesome the guitar solo and guitar, vocal harmonization were spot on. The overall arrangement of this song is perfect, I like your little red stratocaster.
Pantera - This Love
New sub here cause being a 62 yr old Metal Head former Bassist I love your reaction. I was also classically trained. but chose a deep metal fry voice I sadly no longer have yet I STILL love all things metal and a bit of classical

Saw them live with White Zombie and Megadeath. Phil had us in the palm of his hand. I swear if he had told us to go skipping through the parking lot we would have done it!
How great is this song and how great is this reaction?!
Thanks so much that you are open to a new world and respect/appreciate other kinds of music that the ones that you are used to
Should listen to the unedited version sometime!
Dimebag was so good at literally making his guitar scream.
New word of the day: fantabulous
1991 I was 21 y.o. Yes that time was vinyl, cassette and CD-s was new and expecive : One vinyl fullalbum was 300 rubel / 3USD; casette (MC) 190 rubel / 1,90 USD ; CD 750 rubel / 7,50 USD but month neto salary was 25.000 rubel / 250 USD.
Pantera should be heard live. Nothing more to add😜
That was 100% the appropriate facial expression to make the first time you hear that guitar solo.
seriously you could imitate that last note of the guitar :O LOL seriously I did not believe, I take off my hat beautiful lady
One of the greatest metal bands ever! RIP dime and vin!

@@maggiereneemusic yes I did ! Another excellent song ! You should do wrong side of heaven by five finger death punch
😍
Original singer were Donnie Hart and bass player Tommy D. Bradford.Terry Glaze aka Terrence Lee Glaze took over on vocals and Rex Brown on bass. Darrell Abbott was called Diamond Darrell in their glam days, Rex Brown was Rex Rocker. Their first 3 albums were in the glam genre but the Solos too heavy to be called glam. A great example are All Over Tonight. The first 3 albums were produced by the Abbott brothers dad Jerry Abbott
So good!!! These guys r still legendary.....
You need to check out the extended version
