Some of Iron Maidens recordings were amazing.
Everyone that is a critical listener should make sure to got loudnesswar to find the best recordings with the most dynamic range.
It's shocking, the difference in sound quality with a decent stereo/headphones between the SAME album, but a different recording(i.e. a Japanese release vs some USA "remaster" from the 2000s).
EDIT: I'm 30 sec in and love your reaction, cant wait till you see him belt it out heh. Go listen to "Live After Death"

I'd call it hard rock rather than metal and I love both. There is NO denying the talent, you are correct about that but that applies to every artist on that stage, this is just how it had to be done back when there was nothing but skill. This is live, without any of it being pre-recorded or going through a mixer like today.
Maiden still does it that way to this day, this is exactly how it sounds without any form of help. Though listening to them live yesterday Bruce doesn't have that voice but he makes up for it through sheer raw power which is really impressive all in itself.

The craziest thing about Bruce is, he never had lessons. He pretty much taught himself by practicing and singing in various small bands at school. He just has a natural talent. He did end up having some coaching in 2015 as he recovered from treatment for throat cancer. To go with that powerful voice, he has a massive stage presence, and he says that he makes sure that whatever he does on stage is big so that the people at the back of the crowd can see what he’s doing. The fact that he’s in his 60s now and can still sing in the original key (yes he has to push a little harder, but he still gets up there) says a lot for how well he has looked after his voice (and his body) throughout his career, where other vocalists of his generation have lost it to varying degrees and now sing in lower keys or even completely lower octaves.
May your journey through your own singing career be as long lived, keep studying not just your preferred genre, but others too.
I would suggest looking at Floor Jansen (currently of Nightwish) as inspiration, she has learned many styles of singing and is hugely proficient in all forms of vocalisation.

This is arguably their greatest hit among scores of hits. Also, this (Live at Hammersmith '82) is the best show for Bruce's vocals. The only problem is the band's catalog isn't very large in 1982. To see the full scope of Bruce's vocal talent as well as that of the band, try Rime of the Ancient Mariner next. Too many songs to suggest further, but my next 2 favs are Wasted Years & The Number of the Beast (no, it's not a satanic song, though the subject is part of the song).
For other great vocals try Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame (live in Tokyo 1984) & Silent Lucidity, plus Steelheart - She's Gone. Great voices in the metal genre. (Can't remember if you've done these).

His vocals in Infinite Dreams is probably the best he had ever recorded. I would also say Flight of Icarus or Children of the Damned are next best. Can't forget Invaders or Prisoner. I would strongly suggest any of these songs before Rime. Not that Rime isn't a classic choice, but like The Trooper or Run to the Hills, its all you ever see anyone reacting too. Man, just once would I love to see one of these reactors give Die With Your Boots On or 22 Acacia Avenue a spin.

    • @jimspetdragons3737

@@bevil4aday I suggested Rime because it showed more of his vocal spectrum than most of his other works in a single piece of music. The others only show a smaller part of Bruce's talent. It's not likely that reactors will go that deep into their catalog as you suggest, so naming the tunes that show the most is probably the best for a start, then adding more later. But, love those suggestions!

U should listen to the lyrics too though, it is quite chilling.. it is the story of a man sentenced to death by hanging and the lyrics are his thoughts on his way to the gallows pole

Some fun facts about Bruce Dickinson.
He is entirely self-taught. One of the most amusing comments on that fact that I have ever heard was when he launched his autobiography "What does this button do" in 2017 and at the launch event did a Q&A session. The best question by far was: "After your recent treatment for throat cancer (which was actually in 2015), did you have any vocal coaching, and if so, how much did they learn from you?". Following this successful treatment he not only regained his voice, but also his fitness to the standard of regaining his Airline Transport Pilot's Licence Flight Crew Medical Certificate at the age of 58, leasing a Boeing 747-400 through his aviation business, and taking the Captain's seat, piloting the band himself on a world tour - an upgrade to his previous type rating for the 757/767. The upsizing was necessary to haul the band, crew, and all the stage set, lighting and PA equipment required for stadium scale shows. He was invited to try out for the British Olympic fencing team (he was at one time rated 7th in the Uk in the sport, despite it being a very part-time hobby), but decided he didn't have time, but still fenced recreationally, often taking time on tour to train with teams around the world (fencing is a sport in which you improve by competing against a wide variety of opponents, not just a small group who rapidly learn each others' favourite moves, and any signs they may give away their intentions by). He has trained with national teams all over the world, and several competitors have commented that he gave them some of the hardest contests in their experience, including Olympic medalists. He also flies aerobatically (which requires huge core strength) and owns a genuine Spitfire and a replica Fokker Dr.1 Triplane, both of which he was display qualified in until fairly recently at least. A serious aerobic pilot experiences rapid changes in g forces ranging from positive six to nine (depending on if a specialised G suit is worn) to negative three to five. Those are multiples of gravitational force, so at 6g you weigh six times your normal weight and extreme core straining is needed to keep the blood from pooling in your legs, so it is absolutely brutal on core strength - you have to literally squeeze the blood to your brain by clenching all leg and core muscles to prevent loss of consciousness, which is discouraged in pilots. But he was doing it into at least his early 60s (he is 64 now and still going strong). This recording is from over 40 years ago now!
Back in the days not long after this was recorded, one of his almost trademark moves when running around the stage was to leap from the gallery (which runs around most of their more recent sets behind the drummer and around to the front on both wings of the stage) right OVER the drummer and entire drumkit, landing with a forward roll and up to standing, without missing a beat. That is about 3M forwards before a 2M drop from a standing start, so probably a couple more metres during the descent part. And he keeps it up for a whole 90-minute set. So yes, he has always had and maintained immense core strength and stamina!
There is a lot more besides that, too, but this comment is probably already too long!

If you like theatrical performances, you must check "dance of death" live from en vivo (The Most theatrical performance by Bruce at his 55 ) "The Talisman" from the same venue (Probably the best ever vocal performance from him) and "The Clansman" live in rock in rio 2001 ( the most energetic performance)
