Im a 29 year old animator from Sweden, living and working in London and have completely fallen in love with your work, because it is what I have always wanted to do. So now I spend every day painting and learning from your videos, looking at values and perspective etc but most of all having the most fun Ive had in years! Thank you so much for uploading your videos, if only I had the money I would not hesitate to apply to your school.
Feng, you *are* inspiring, and I appreciate these videos.
I am 54, I majored in art in college (and actually prompted my high school to create a new art class, and wound up taking five hours of art in my senior year-out of a six hour day!).
After school, I worked for a while as an artist. (I also had a few other jobs.) I saved my pennies, bought a computer, and taught myself computer programming. (So that *is* possible.) I am now a Software Engineer, Advanced. I enjoy my job a lot, and it is a very good career with great benefits and pay.
However, I am honing my art skills and may start freelancing some illustrations and possibly design. This would be in my spare time. I find it very relaxing, and it helps take my mind off of work. But I figure that if I can sell some of my work, I may as well. I need to advance my skills a little more to achieve this, but if I can teach myself to program a computer, I think this is quite possible. (I already know the basics, from my training in school, so I may be ahead of some of your viewers.)

For me, the most helpful info has been: how to get ideas down fast but "right"; when, why and how to use different methods; taking images to "the next level"; spotting value balance and composition problems; and fixing things without destroying work.

I've work full time as an architectural illustrator and 3d artist for about 7 years and freelance matte painter for 4 years. Your videos are always inspirational. The fundamentals cross over to what I do so I'm not learning anything new in that area but I love watching the quick and loose process of concepting. I listen to the videos more than watch, looking back and forth from time to time to see the progress. The art is always awesome but I find the commentary to be the most interesting part.

By night, I spend a lot of time learning concept art (from you, Scott Robertson, Gnomon Workshop, 3DTotal, James Gurney) because I'd like to express my visions of the future visually. My biggest challenge is dealing with the fear of painting. I'm getting better at ignoring it, at painting despite the repulsion towards what I paint, and your videos help me a lot with this. In Finland there really isn't any school for learning entertainment design kind of stuff, although schoold for game programmers are already.
