@@davidvongries i also like to shoot with hlg3. however it tends to get a bit noisy sometimes. do u expose hlg3 (bt 2020) by +0.3 to +1 stop or smth else? actually, can u pls make a video on how u expose, film and grade ur videos coz colors on them are really good imho
@@davidvongries plus i tried slog2 on my zv-e10 as well and had absolutely worst experience with it. idk for whatever reason, whenever i switch to slog2, i see colors going crazy changing ( its like 1-2 sec shift of all the colors to magenta esp shadows, and at the same time being extremely noisy even in midtones. and its not ur famous magenta/green ugly pixels all over the image. )
@@kamronkadiriy wow, interesting that you mention this. I filmed some random shots the other day at a nearby zoo (also in HLG3) and noticed some strange color-shifts when reviewing the footage (video coming soon). The white-balance is fixed so that can‘t be it. Interesting to hear that this is also happening for you in SLog2. It does make the footage completely unusable. It didn‘t happen to me when recording in Cine4 but back then I was shooting fully manual. This time I was shooting in program mode. I will have to look further into this. It‘s not happening for me in the studio setup where I also expose manually. Could the lense/focusing have to do with it too? I don‘t intentionally overexpose as I feel like when applying the LUT, the image is brightened up a lot so I try to expose „properly“. I also noticed the noise that you‘ve mentioned compared to the Cine4 profile I was filming in earlier. To me, it‘s acceptable though. I like how HLG3 produces a much nicer image „out of the box“ compared to Cine4 after the basic color correction. It‘s easier to work with and I like the end-results a bit better - that‘s for the studio setup at least. Colors pop a bit more imo. I have another video on the channel (the ZV-E10 Cinematic 4K video) that I shot in Cine4 and I liked it a lot for these nature shots.
Thanks for this comparison. I'm currently using an a5100 casually and was thinking of an upgrade. While I do appreciate the extra features of the ZV E10, based on your photo comparison, I'm just not sure spending $700-800 would be worth it. I'm still on the fence. The main things I wish my a5100 had would be a mic option and that it didn't stop recording video spontaneously. I know once I get 10min or so of video, it won't last much longer before it automatically stops recording. I believe the a5100 is still a great camera for the casual user.
that’s been the main issue for me as well. i don’t regret upgrading to the ZV-E10. if you’re also into photography a lot, you might want to consider the a6900 too.
He don't replied, but for me. Yes absolutely! If you have the money, go for it. If not go for a5100. But the downside of a5100 is overheating for video/streaming. ZV E10 has no problem with it
Interestingly I find the a5100 and ZV-E10 raw files are identical. Main difference in JPG's is the later camera uses less compression and different color profiles - which you can adjust in the a5100
Thx for the vid! I have the a5100. But I am still wondering, cause you are comparing the jpg's. I find thst raw and edit later is way better on my a5100. So, questioning how the raw performance compare
Image quality pretty close to each other, but Skin tone in a5100 much better!! I am now use a5000 and also look at zv, but I don't see any big improvement for photo to invest money for zv body. To get much better level of quality and experience a7c look much better, but need to change new and big ff lenses. I am also try to look at fuji system, but all models before xs-10 have problems with autofocus and most lenses not for video. Do I am still use old a5000 and wait for really new generation compact cameras.
you deserve much more views man!
Good work man, keep it up!
hey, what kind of key light you have in your background?
amazing work dude. keep it up!
and also what picture profile do u film on zv e10?
thanks, buddy! I used to use Cine4 but recently switched to HLG3 (which this one was filmed in as well).

I would love to buy ZV-E10 but I can't find it anywhere. That chip shortage sucks ;/
and me i dont find
it‘s a shame that it’s been discontinued :/ It‘s pretty much the best budget allrounder APSC camera imho.
I do have one for sale in Canada if you are interested

The same for me
i think jpeg is similar but in raw zve10 will have better dynamic range and better recoverability of shadow and highlight
