I purchased the La Mer while down in Florida. I had to return it for a darker shade, it looked much better one shade up. It leaves a glow to the skin but definitely needs powder. I got so many compliments on my "skin" when I wore it but after all day, I did have settling in my forehead lines. I am loving the Lancome Teint Idole 24hour foundation - lasts all day, not shine and looks flawless. Thanks for this review Angie!
InstaBlaster...
You put so much work, time and details in your videos and I really appreciate it! I love how descriptive you are and use helpful adjectives instead of many UA-camrs who say things such as "this product sucks"...or they're "Totally Obsessed" without really explaining why lol...thank you for all the helpful and informative videos you do and you're authenticity and friendliness really shines through :)
Thank you so much Jolene!
Since watching your holy grail video on the Chanel Velvet foundation, I was super intrigued. So I went to Nordstrom and got a sample. LOVED it!!!! Perfect amount of coverage for my 42 year old Combo skin. Lasts up to 8-10 hrs, no settling into fine lines. Went back and got a full bottle. My primer and powder are different, but man o man do I love this foundation! I can't than you enough for your foundation series. And your time and dedication to TRULY investigate and put the products thru the test. You're my favorite go to UA-cam Guru for sure! Muah!
Thank God you test these foundations for us - thank YOU!!!
By far, the best long-wearing foundation I've used is the UD All Nighter. It doesn't settle in my lines/pores & keeps my t-zone from needing to be blotted all day...even in FL's humidity. I'm only 49, so I don't have a tremendous amount of wrinkles, but I think it's worth a shot for someone. The only exception being someone with dry/very dry skin.
Oops, forgot Angie didn't have the best of luck with it. I still find it's good for me.
I have used long time
50. I love it no primer
jennifer
I actually really like the UD All Nighter… for a very full coverage, made up look it was good!
I just got a sample in an Ulta bag. I've worn it once and was pleasantly surprised!
TheKelJacob I need to try that! I'm the same age and moved to FL last year. I needed to change all my cosmetics for FL's climate.
I bought Chanel fundation and I am totally in love , my skin never looked more beautiful, thank you for recommendation xxx
I wear a Becca primer with my Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet and Aqua, and I really does a fantastic job even with our wild climate in Australia.
You look fabulous !!!!! Just a thought, shiseido does a great primer I use under my La Mer really works perfectly . If you watch other videos people use about 30 la mer products before the foundation...so RIDICULOUS ! Great video, thank you
I would love to see a review on the the Guerlain , the new Chanel and the La Prairie foundations. It's challenging to find the right shade ( even with some help by mixing) and the correct formulas. Your videos are so very helpful
Your reviews are the best! I love how thorough you are in trying different methods of application and showing us the close-ups and how they perform at different time intervals. So helpful.
I think this works better with the La Mer skin care underneath. It's kind of like an extension of the skin treatments. I don't use a primer, just their sunscreen (which was horrible at the beach but great under makeup for normal everyday wear). So far I love this one. It seems to work very well for those with dry skin. Oily skin will need the powder on top.
Hi Angie, I just discovered this foundation and it is my new holy grail. I think everyone’s criteria is different. I don’t need a long wearing foundation. I usually have a few video calls during the day and that’s it. I love super light coverage. I also have very dry skin so the luminosity works great for me. Lastly, I always spot conceal before putting on any foundation with bye bye redness by It cosmetics. Knowing this is my baseline, I can tell you that, for me, this foundation is pretty amazing.
It would have to be magic for me to spend that much money on a foundation. I love these videos. I always look forward to fridays! I agree with Chrissy2blovely and would love to see a review on the "Avon Ideal Invisible Flawless" foundation. I saw another youtuber who said it was a good one but didn't see any demos on it. I value your opinion so would love to see a video on it for sure. Thanks!
For a hundred dollars the foundation shouldn't need help ! I love your videos !
So happy I returned this...really like the MUF water blend foundation.
Love your videos. I' ve purchased some products recommended by you with great results! 😉👍I think I should make a "Angie made me buy it" video!!
You always do such a thorough and honest job in your evaluation of products. Thanks for such hard work on these. Well done!
Thank you for your honest review and to show exactly how it is. My skin is matured already and a good foundation is super important. Nice video.
If you are trying very high end foundations, test out by Terry densiliss. It's the best foundation I've ever tried - such a natural finish and long wearing.
Your reviews are so awesome and through Angie! The thing is, and of course I have heard you say it, everyones skin is so different, what works for someone else may not work for you. But you are over 50 so your reviews really help us girls who are too. Thanks so much for what you do!
For $110 that foundation should unload the dishwasher for you!
:-D you are right!!!
👍
haha! Yes, for that price it has to perfect!
It should fly out of the bottle and apply itself. Same for the La Prairie foundation.
Dawn Fields I know but I'd still buy it. Lol
I am glad you talked about it...Many people have talked so good about it...thanks for the information..I like you love the channel foundation...take care
I can't believe you've done #25 of these. Thank you for your diligence.
I love your foundation reviews. In case you are looking for another to try, my fave is the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation. It looks natural and wears well. Finding a shade can be tricky, but it is definitely worth the search. Don't let the name fool you; it isn't a dewy look. It just makes me look like I have great skin!
Angie, could you do a video of the Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion and compare it to other cushion makeups, pretty please.
Thanks again for all your time, Angie!
I think you look even more fresh and young without the Eyeliner on your lower lashline. Love it.
So excited to try this foundation and found it did not last longer than 4 hours for my combination skin. I switched my foundation to Cle De Peau radiant cream foundation and I am liking it more and more each day. I find this foundation stays well and lasts a full day of work. I do have to blot my face a few times a day.
Hi Angie, I love your videos and was hoping you'd do a behind the scenes look at what it takes to produce one. What your room looks like, shopping for the product, bloopers, editing... Thanks for all the advice!
so glad you did this video just goes to show you that some of the over counter products are better than $200 products and you please do an updated hooded ID time video my eyes have gotten so good at I am just absolutely lost I cannot figure out how to place anything my skin on my eyelids is actually hanging driving me completely nuts thank you
I was so curious what you would think of this one. It not all its cracked up to be for sure..I dont think any foundation is worth $110.00 bucks unless you get dinner and a movie with it lol....thx Angie.
linda ackerman and happy ending! Lest I forget that! 🙊
oh wow thank you so much for this review on La Mer. I was thinking of buying this until I saw your video, the truth is not long wearing & I saw the result.
Thanks so very much-I was thinking of buying this foundation but it did not look like I wanted. Good job describing. 💕
I've always been a little put off by the price of that line. Thanks so much for plunking down $110 to review this for everyone! It's amazing that there can be so little correlation between price and performance!
Thanks for educating us Angie. I'll be visiting a Chanel counter soon.
sand looked beautiful on you. thanks for doing these videos so we know what we are getting.
Angie, I am 42 living in southamerica... I am in love with your channel. Thanks for all the tips. I wanted to try this foundation, but usually your recommendations are spot on. So I am passing on this one... happy because it is son expensive.
Love this foundation! You don't need much, has skin care benefits and feels fab. 51, with normal to combo skin (oily t-zone).
I just got the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation after watching you rave about it......I absolutely love it! I can't believe how smooth my face looks!
Yay!! makes me happy to hear :D
Thanks so much for reviewing this one! I got the Chanel Lumiere Velvet and really love it. I am using it with the Chanel La Blanc base...you should try it and see what you think. The Lumiere and La Blanc lasted 10 hours on me including a 2 hour plane ride! I find the Lumiere a little hard to spread on initial application but I think that stiffess helps it stay matte-ish during the day. The foundations that glide on right out the bottle tend to get too shiny on my combo, Retin A, 49 yr old skin.
Thank you for a very informative video. I think you do really good reviews.
Wow! I think it looks amazing on you on the 3rd day. Thank you for sharing! 🎀👍🏻
The initial finish of the foundation is gorgeous, but it certainly isn't long wearing!
Thanks Angie! I don't think this brand in general worth the hype, thanks so much for your review!
Angie you are so pretty even w out makeup! I've been watching you seen you started & I swear your looking younger!!
Perfect timing, I just got a sample at Nordstrom yesterday. May reconsider paying $110-thank you!
I know I can count on your reviews. Other reviewers just rave automatically when it's a high end product. Thank you for your thorough review!
Thanks again, Angie. I love the Chanel foundation as well and love it. No La Mer for me.
I love the LaMer foundation. It did take me a few tries to get the best look. It works best without a primer, for me. I like it because I don’t feel like I’m wearing foundation. So far this is my HG, but still need to try the Chanel Velvet you love. Love your foundation reviews!!
Angie💙I couldn't click fast enough...Thk u so much for yr honest review! So glad to hv yr opinion on this. Enjoy yr wkend.
Angie, have you ever tried Lancome's 24 hr Teinte Idole? I have mature skin and love it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
Ridiculous price ehAngie😩😩, I am presently trialling the Clinique Silk Superbalance and am soo impressed so much so that it will be my next purchase, I have combo 60+ skin and it is very pretty. I use it with the matching primer and it wears all day, am getting major compliments, love the reviews, keep them coming😘😘 Suzie
Thanks for another foundation review, my skin is dry, and I live in a super dry climate, so the Chanel velvet was a no go. I've tried the aqua and still a no go. Right now my HG is Lancome Teint Idole. It does make me mad how many we have to try before we find a HG. I just wish co would focus on more mature skin! Love your efforts they are enjoyed!
omg that beeping! I thought it was my fridge I even checked I hadn't left it open lol
Thank you for the comprehensive review!! I'm happy knowing I don't even need to bother with this after seeing how it wore on you. Spend that $100+ elsewhere! Thanks, take care!
My HG is actually a mix of Eliss Faas skin Veil foundation and the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation. I'm 42 with normal to dehydrated skin (especially in winter)
Thanks, Angie for another thorough testing of a foundation:)!
You save me so much money! I am one of those who asked for this review, so thank you! (Love Newbury Street)
Hi Angie, I was just thinking to buy it but now, thanks to your review, I will not! You've made me save ~100 euros ! Thank you!!
You do the best and most thorough reviews!💗
Lovedddddd your thorough review on this foundation! Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for sharing!!! I have to disagree I love this foundation. I have tried the Chanel foundation you like and that one looks bad on me.
Everyone has there own holy grail !! 😀😀👍👍👍
I have been using this for a few weeks, and I am loving it. I am still searching for the correct shade. I am in my 60s and have tried nearly every possible foundation that you can name. My face is normal to dry...I use retin-a, so I don't want anything to drying. It is between this and Lacome Ultra Cushion Teint Idole SPF 50. I have been alternating both. I just want to add...Angie's reviews are always so thorough, and I was hoping she would try this one. I was curious to see what she would think. :)
This is a great foundation, and I did not smell any scent. I love mine!
Same here! I love this foundation on my mature combo skin. It gives me a soft focus very flattering look, and as my oil breaks through throughout the day, it just looks better and better. So I think everyone should at least try a sample to see how it works for them. Also, my skin feels good at the end of the day when I take it off. Almost like I've had a treatment mask on, not a foundation. It has become my HG for sure, and I've tried them all.
Love your reviews, though, Angie! You are the most thorough of everyone.
I have to disagree too. I just started using this La Mer foundation and it is my holy grail. I'm 49 and my skin has been getting dryer and this is the first foundation that doesn't dry me out and make me look like I'm wearing a mask. It took a few samples to get the right color match, but now that I have, it is amazing!! Also, you have to shake the bottle before using it to not get that strong scent.
Angie, I still like the Chanel on you better. This foundation is way to illuminous for your skin. I had tried this Lar Mer and didn't like it at all. Thanks for the review girl! Good job. xoxo Sharon
Hi Angie! You're right.....If you're going to spend $110.00 on a foundation, it should be perfection. Also, please consider reviewing the new L'oreal Voluminous Lash Primer and do a comparison to the Lancome Cils Booster. I would love to try it, but it's not available in Canada yet. Thanks!
Great review! So glad I don't have to wonder if I should spend $110 on foundation. I have however decided to really try to find a foundation that doesn't accentuate texture. I'm always wishing for concealment of dark/age spots but alas, haven't found anything that works (incl. concealers and correctors). I just purchased the new Kevn Aucoin The Etherealist ....Foundation; really enjoying it and have also decided to try the Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint (which I read actually has Medium+ coverage). Haven't received the Hourglass yet. The KA is really beautiful - NO accentuation of texture and very skin like. My skin is very different from yours - dry, pores not a problem. Texture and discoloration are my main concerns. Thank you Angie! xo
Thank you for testing this foundation Angie. I must say for a $110USA that it is an amazing disappointment! I expected so,so much more. We have very similar skin, so I am very glad that I didn't give into the temptation. Not even sure if it is here in Australia, and can only imagine that the price would probably be double in $AUS!!
I'd love for you to do a foundation review of Boots No 7 Airbrush or Lift & Luminate since Boots merged with Walgreens and is now available there, Target & Ulta. I love your reviews!
Super helpful! I think I may try LaMer skin tint at some point.
I've used a bottle of the original formula (white cap).
I found it very moisturizing where it was almost uncomfortable. Ended up mixing it with IT CC SPF50.😊
Have a good one, xx
wow thanks for testing this because I expected more from them. I'll save my $
Thank you from saving me the time! I’m still searching for my HG.
I liked it. Same colour as you. I agree that it isn't as all full coverage
Thank you for the comprehensive review! I was about to purchase it tomorrow.
Great video, I just love your Friday foundation reviews.💕 Thank you. You are so efficient with all of your reviews on all products and I really like that. 👏
Have a nice weekend, Take Care and GOD BLESS YOU 😇😇
I love the Chanel Velvet! Can't wait to get my full size!
Ah Foundation Friday is back! Thank you!
thank you so much I was so surprised by the raves I've been seeing but it was done by younger ladies thanks again
An extra 15-20 years of wear-and-tear on the skin really changes things!!
You look stunning in the darker colors 💕
Hey...Where did this come from and how did I miss it?? I'm sorry for asking for something already done, that's got to be maddening... I'm back to "brain fogs" after stopping my HRT to take off some weight. It's really the Tom Ford I'm interested in since I started RetinA every night my skin changed and I'm struggling with the YUCK!! I'm grateful for all the videos you do!! And I watch more than once. xo
thank you for reviewing this product! I was tempted to try it myself I am willing to spend whatever it takes to make my skin beautiful. I guess within reason :-) but I have some melasma issues and skin texture issues very similar to yours. So thank you for saving me some money.
I agree with you that for the amount of money it should be "FANTASTIC"!! You definitely don't need to break the bank to get good foundation - I can't wear anything that says "long wearing" - too dry for me. By the way, your eyes look great in this video!
Thanks for your honest review 😃👍
Thank you for 100% honestly I'm a channel fan too.
I'm still trying to get over the sticker shock of this foundation, yikes! I did like it on day 3, especially out in the sunshine! You always look beautiful, Angie! :)
Another nice informative video. Thank you.😀👍
Angie I love this foundation but only for night out so i don't need sun block and it last for many hours. I find that sun blocks and foundations don't get along. I use it with Sisley primer. Great results.
I will purchase again. XOXO.
Awesome review as always! Love your channel - have a great weekend!
I love your video's !! Your foundation tests helpt me to find my holy grail: the Chanel and also the Estee Lauder double wear foundation. Lot of love from Holland 😘😘
Thank you so much! I was almost sold on this foundation until this review - why has NO ONE else mentioned the strong fragrance? Def won’t work for me! Glad I didn’t waste the time and money :)
Would love to see Hourglass Illusion on Foundation Friday!! Xo
I Love Foundation Friday!! !Would love to see you try some Dior products, especially there foundations. Thanks :)
You should try Glo Minerals Luxe Foundation...it's amazing, especially for aging skin. I just switched to it recently and absolutely love it :)
Angie, you may dig in to the corean foundations world! There are amazing brands, and mostly all of them include skincare benefits in their ingredient list. The prices are very very reasonable too! I mean,is just an idea.
Third day looks the best
Angie, sounds like a lot of work for a foundation that costs so much. Great vid
Thanks so much for this review Angie!!!! Appreciate it.....
oh my god! i love you so much!you are the best ive seen to review the foundation!su b b e d!
btw what skintype do you have? thank you!
Thanks so much Michelle! My skin is normal with slightly oily t-zone.
Hi Angie . Thanks for the video. I love your foundation Friday's videos. Quick request .. Can you show us how the Chanel one looks and wear on you ? Or maybe you already filmed a foundation review video about it ? ..I need a new foundation and I was thinking about this La Mer one ..
Here's the Foundation Friday on Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet: ua-cam.com/video/XJ_YMMXM3wc/v-deo.html
yenin, angie already did that holy grail video a while back.
Super ..thanks a lot !!
Try the Chanel one first. Angie's right! It really is a beautiful foundation. I used to love the MUFE HD Liquid foundation (old formula), but now I use the Chanel, and I love it just as much. I haven't found anything better!
The Chanel is now my favorite --
Thank you so much for this review! What is next? LM Candle Glow? GA Luminous Silk? Please?
Have a beautiful weekend!
With gratitude,
your friend,
Kristine
thank you Angie for testing this one, I was curious about it too. Too bad, for that price it should of been the magic potion. haha Guess I will stick with my Chanel. I do have to say though the color was so much better than the Smash box foundation one. thought Smash box was way to yellow looking sorry watched the smash box foundation first. Again thank you and Happy New Year
For that price point, it should be a holy grail.
