    Alright UA-camrs, take note because THIS is how you do a review especially for face/complexion products! So wonderful of you to give closeups instead of hiding behind overly bright lighting unwilling to show what actual skin looks like! Thank you, this was helpful as my dry under eyes and fine lines are one of my bigger problem areas. Awesome video!

But I had to comment today. I just discovered you and I‘m HOOKED!!! You‘re wonderfully thorough, pleasant to listen to, and honest in your reviews. LOVE IT! As a woman in my mid-40s, I’ve noticed wrinkles and creasing where they never were before, so a video like this is wonderfully insightful, time-saving, and money-saving too. I’m pleased to know that Maybelline Age Rewind and Tarte Shape Tape came out high up, as I use both with regularity. Thanks so much and keep up the good work - we all appreciate it..I definitely do!

    I love you for doing this!!! THANK YOU!! Concealer is a tough one for mature skin. BUT I just learned a new trick that is life changing for me. Using my favorite eyelid primer (Maybelline MasterPrime) UNDER my eye!! OMG how beautiful it caused my favorite concealers (Tarte Shape Tape & Maybelline Age Rewind) to sit and stay, with the aid of just a touch of setting powder!!! The more mattifying staying power, especially in the inner corners, is so so much better than ever before with that primer holding it in place.
    I will have to pick up that Lancôme though, but I'll wait until I run out of one to justify buying it 😂

      Eden Tyler I sampled shape tape in ulta the other day because I had seen sooo many people using it and I just found it to be so super thick like paint! I'm not used to that but I guess a little would go a long way. I have severe dry undereye and I'm afraid it will get too cakey and crack 😬

      Carissa Fleming it is thick but a little does go a long way. I have a dry undereye and it's the best at not creasing, for me. I don't find that it ever gets cakey if you blend it in well. I would never use as much as she does, though, so that may be the difference

    I've been using the Maybelline Age Rewind for so long and I love it. I've tried so many concealers, both high and low end, and I always end up going back to the age rewind. Recently, I tried a sample of a $100 concealer that a few here on UA-cam raved about and it looked worse than the age rewind, that's only $10, on me. I'm so happy I didn't buy the full size. Maybelline Age Rewind is really one of the best out there, in my opinion, and I was glad to see you thought so as well. Great video!❤~Holly

    Angie, I recently found your channel and I have to say I am so very impressed with all of the work, time, energy and thoroughness you put into each video you are presenting. I am 51 and have never really had issues with my skin until this past year. OMG, it was like "what has happened". Of course, hormones changing is what is happening. I am a nurse and I try to take care of myself with my diet and exercise, however I have neglected my skin for about 3 years. So, I have thoroughly enjoy watching your videos and have been trying to catch up!! Let's just say that I have ordered pretty much all of your skin care routine products and am dedicating myself to re-starting to really "pamper" my skin to keep myself as youthful as possible. I believe putting great products on top of your skin is just as important as what you put into your body. There is a wealth of information about what to eat that is healthy, but not a lot about who carries what products etc for good topical skin care products.... I love the Timeless and The Ordinary Products. It just makes sense, but to find out these "hidden treasures" is hard when you don't have time to research all day. I want to also say that if anyone has the time to read what the other comments by your other readers have posted, please do. I have heard so many positive comments about many other products and frankly when you hear so many people mention a certain product, it certainly is worth looking at. Cosmetics are very overwhelming!! There are just too many to wrap around your head!! You have taken the guess work and frustration out of 80% of it. I think the other 20% is to just be patient, use trial and error on what you have found and see what agrees with your skin. I love the suggestions, but I have to also factor in my skin type, genetics and lifestyle. Like you have said many times, just because something works for you, does not mean it will work for someone else. Overall, your tried and trues do work for me and for that I am grateful that I do not have to start at the beginning of a search. I have your channel and your experience to help me know what to do and what to look for. THANK YOU very much for all of your wonderful videos. You are very inspiring to watch and I personally appreciate someone over 50, being real and putting so many makeup and beauty/skin care products to the test.

    This. Is. Amazing. I’ve really been struggling with my “changing” skin. Wrinkles, fine lines, dry patches and dark spots. Retinoids and Vitamin c have become my new best friends, yet I still have oily t zone and huge pores. Concealer has been a challenge. Thank you! For your honest reviews, candid close-ups, and diligent check ins. Makeup isn’t cheap, and to repeatedly buy failure after failure is disheartening. I had seen the Maybelline Age Rewind get good reviews, but wasn’t sure if it would work with my fine lines. I will try both it and the Lancôme next!! Please continue to do reviews like these!!! We need you! ☺️

    When it comes to the Age Rewind concealer, if you take the sponge applicator off and apply initially with your finger you don't lose product in the sponge. Also, they make one called a "Brightener" which is more salmony and is great for cancelling out blue/purple undereye circles.

    Dear Hot and Flashy, you are so awesome. Have learned a lot about make up and products from you. I turn 59 this year and am fighting the fight as you are. Have just recently started with Vitamin C and can see lightening of age spots. I am just introducing retinals and with my sensitive skin am going very slowly as you suggested. Thanks for the clear presentation of your products and for being brave with your sometimes bare skin.

      Lynn H. I have the same problem: super dry skin under my eyes, though my eyelids are so oily. I've liked Charlotte tilbury retoucher. It's very emollient almost like a moisturizer. I lightly set it and I'm good to go. It something's gets in my wrinkles but I just pat lightly with my finger and it's gone. While this isn't perfect, it's better than others that make that dry skin like worse with giant cracks.

    For future 2nd round please consider Giorgio Armani high Precision Retouch as for me it wins over my number two which is the Lancôme. The thing I've found as I age is that less is more....I use far less than what you do though my discoloration etc are worse (I'm also dryer I think). The way I am able to make this tiny amount work is with both the Lancôme and the Armani to use a small amount of the corresponding corrector ONLY on the darkest areas (for me the very inner corner and outer corner). With Lancome I use the Maquicomplete under the Effacernes and for the Armani, the Master Corrector in #1 for my skin tone). I was taught by a makeup artist on a film shoot (I was training the dog that was in the film, I wasn't in it) to set with a shadow brush a la Mac 217 with a tiny amount of powder ONLY where there were fine lines and the most AMAZING TIP was to take a matte pink undertone eyeshadow (like the MUFE Artist shadow in M532) and place it where the very dark shadow is at very inner corner / inner edge of nose where one typically places a shimmery inner corner highlight for an unbelievably perfect brightening effect that wouldn't look scaly or dry. Sorry for the marathon length comment but this entire technique has made such a difference that people started asking what I'd had done (which was nothing), the same way your hooded eye makeup trick does!

      Wait, do you mean first set the concealer with powder, then put the undertone shadow on top? wouldn't that make it cakey? the spot concealing only directly on inner corner discolouration is something I've done forever-that was the way it was always done back in the 80's when I started to apply my own makeup. It's how a lot of the top makeup artists still do it-spot concealing- e.g Lisa Eldridge. It's only in the last few years this ridiculous over application down the cheek thing has been around.

    • @sarahkalnajs5810
      @sarahkalnajs5810 7 років тому +3

      greenknitter the setting powder would go under the eye and the pink toned shadow only on the inner corner - inner edge of nose where esp those with deep set eyes have a lot of darkness. Wayne Goss had this tip and maybe it would work for you in those corners where the product wore away - he said to use an eyelid primer so that the concealer has something to adhere to and should keep it from settling. I suppose it's worth trying. I would only dab a little just in the corners there. You don't need it really anywhere else. Loved the video.

    • @vanessak-j8372

    • @Cherylebreaux
      @Cherylebreaux 7 років тому +4

      I've tried that tip and I didn't like it. For some reason, eyeshadow primers really accentuated the dryness under my eye. I've tried UD Primer Potion, Milani (that I love for my eyelid) and even Mac paint pot. I know Smashbox actually makes an "under eye primer" and I'm wondering if anyone has tried that?

    • @michellereynolds4017
      @michellereynolds4017 7 років тому +10

      It didn't work for me either, Cheryl, but I can't even set my concealer with powder as it makes under my eyes look awfully dry. That area drives me nuts! Hi Linda! I am 56 years old and have deep set dark circles although I would say that 70-80% is heredity.(Italian and Irish) Fair/Light skin tone Blue Eyes and thanks to my Italian genes, dark circles have plagued my eyes that warrant questions, "Are you feeling ok??" or "Don't you get enough sleep?" Okay! Now all that said, I can without a doubt feel certain to recommend:
      *Senna's Totally Transforming Concealer .09oz (full coverage)in Neutral Light. It has a twist off applicator with the doe sponge or you can use your finger. It helps firm and reduce puffiness as well as crease proof, cake proof and long wear formula becomes invisible on the skin as it covers blemishes, discolorations, redness and leaves a silky finish. I ordered 2 tubes/yr at $22-25 a piece. I usually had at least 1/2 of the 2nd tube left over.

    Hi Angie, this was helpful. Some of us with hereditary dark circles have to use a color corrector before concealer. Another UA-camr, Stephanie Marie, did a video recently showing how she applies Tarte Shape Tape after her color corrector. PolishedbyJamie - I use a small bit of Benifit's Erase Paste tapped on to the darkness. I use the medium shade even though my complexion is fair. I just use a light or fair concealer over it. Bobbie Brown's also worked well for me, but it's drier. Thanks for asking and hope it helps!

      Mint hi! so iv never really used concealer bc i never needed it. Now I'm 34 with 4 kids! So i have the obvious "mom bags" and iv been going back and forth on what to get..Tartes shape tape being the main 1 I'm leaning towards (i have a 30%off promo if used. inthe next 12hrs too 😂)but what I'm confused about is shades!!!! I'm a dark olive complexion and being summer now I'm pretty dark. So when it comes to the Shape Tape anyway,do i go 1-2 shades lighter or darker? iv yet to understand this! Anyone else that reads this and uses Tartes Shape Tape please feel free to give your input as well! Thanks! xxx

      You did an infomercial for “City Lights” concealer. At least, you were in it. Did you get paid for that? If so, why did you not test it here. To be honest, whatever you test and say you love, increases the price to sometimes double what it cost originally, e.g. Revitalash. Are you getting commissions for all these products? A lot of women can’t afford them when the price increases. Also, for the majority of women, your look books are laughable. The majority of everything comes from Nordstrom’s. A lot of women can’t afford that and they certainly can’t afford Chloe or Rebecca Minkoff. I think your “hauls” are pretty much the same. I buy from Nordstrom’s and Sephora's but I have a lot of friends who can’t afford that. I know you do occasional drugstore hauls, however, it’s pretty clear you don’t use them. Again, what I see, whether it be Amazon (especially Amazon) or something else, you have done nothing but drive up prices. Do you get commissions for those items? Also, it’s very difficult to believe you have not had ‘work’ done. I was a nurse before I went back to school to do something completely different, I believe I can tell you exactly what you’ve had done. Even Retin A could not do all that you are claiming it has done. Also, an ARNP friend of mine who works for a plastic surgeon and does filler and Botox, looked at your pictures. You give great information and you are a beautiful woman but it would be interesting to know what your endorsements are and how much they net you in a month and to know what you done, perhaps in your late 40s. If I could do it, believe me I would so there’s nothing of which to be ashamed. I just say own it!

    Thanks for the reviews, they were really informative... I use an organic jojoba oil at the 5 hour mark... the teeniest tiny amount... less than a drop and blend it onto my hand and then right at the end tap it onto my concealer... it resets the concealer and you can repowder and go and your face is great for the rest of the day. (Tip stolen from Beauty and the Boutique). It really works for me and gets me a whole day of wear out of my concealer.
