Thanks! If it smells poorly, has an abhorrent shade range, and doesn't hide my pores as advertised then I'll skip this. I'm no longer mesmerized at the thought of trying it. And I detest SPF in my foundation :-D

I was expecting this La Mer to make me look flawless. It’s nice but I prefer Dior Airflash or Lisa Eldridge’s foundation much more and I can buy both for the price of this 😂 so I’ll use it but idk if I’ll repurchase 🤔
I can’t believe the price has gone up since I purchased this foundation! I believe I paid 125. I am a shade sienna which I believe is 460 so that is a surprise that your shade is just one below mine! I’ve always detested the shade range of luxury complexion products even though I am a luxury content creator. And while it has gotten better over time I still feel like they’re very behind in that regard. This is my holy grail foundation, I won’t even lie to you. This has been my holy grail for almost 2 years now. I was able to get 13 hour wear from this foundation and it looked the same as when I put it on. No blotting needed! But I am combination oily and as I’ve gotten older my skin is starting to normalize overall. I’m really glad to see you review this product though. I love it so much but I also agree with your critique of it. I’d love to see you try the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Foundation which retails for $150 but you can also get that at the cosmetic Company outlet if you’d like to try more than one shade.

Your review of this foundation reflects how I feel about the Gucci foundation -just doesn’t perfect enough for me. Haven’t tried this one-now not interested. Of the few luxury foundations I’ve tried ($80 and above), Cle de Peau is the best for my textured skin. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Tina!
Luxury isn’t generally my bag. I’m always curious to see how things perform, but like you, I enjoy mid-range to high end, as well as indie products. Thank you so much for shedding some light (?) on this product!
Personally, I have a lot to cover, being 54, with broken capillaries, acne scarring, and my ugly age splotch on the bridge of my nose! Also I’m not interested in looking “natural” at this point if I’m doing makeup LOL!!! I think of it as art, not as beauty per se.
I like CoverFX Power Play, Charlotte Tillbury Airbrush Flawless, and a mixture of Natasha Denona Foundation X with Transfomatte. And…I may or may not have eight (8!) foundations I picked up in the past year-ish that I haven’t even tried yet…this can neither be confirmed or denied.💙💙💙

I'm feeling so called out by this comment 😂 The search for the holy grail foundation struggle is real.
I can’t imagine any foundation being worth this much. Anything I’ve tried by La Mer, which includes a number of skin products, has not been worth it at all, so I would expect the same with their makeup. The fact that the bottle leaks is just mind boggling to me! At this price point, I’d expect it to be spill-proof!
This foundation looks so good on camera for pictures to me . Not my everyday as I have dry skin but it does give this velvet finish that looks good !

I wonder how the Tom Ford compares?
I have normal to dry and reactive fair skin without pores or damages (I have a really clean skin with some reactive redness) but with some fine lines (46 years old). This fondation is really really beautiful on my type of skin and my skin thanks every time I wear it because it contains something that calmes down my reactive skin, I'm feeling really good imeaditly after I put it. I think that this fondation is useful for the reactive skins with some eczema. It looks very natural endeed , real invisible. The smell I really like, it smells like some other luxurious products. It has endeed light to medium coverage but as I don't really need to have medium coverage, only a light color correction, I'm putting just a fine layer and it's wears and feels gorgeous all the day. At the end of the day, as I start to have less dryness on my skin (the oils appear), the fondation became more and more beautiful in time. For me it worth the price for this particular composition that calmes down redness and the sensation of fire on my reactive skin. I hope that my opinion helps the people like me, your honest review is so useful for the people with your type of skin, because a fondation is something personal and not everybody can love it at the same degree as the types of skin are so different.

Hi Tina, I am very similar in complexion to you and I have amber in this foundation. I got it before they added the newer shades. I find it to be a pretty good match. Did you check that shade out? Just curious since I consider you pretty much my foundation twin here on UA-cam. Awesome review as usual.

Thank you for the review Tina! I tried this foundation and I didn't like it. I'm shade 450 in this and my skin type is normal leaning dry in the winter months. This foundation emphasized my pores, and showed texture that I didn't realize I had. The smell was off putting, so I returned it and purchased the Shisedo skin refreshing foundation in shade 440 instead. now that foundation I love!

This was helpful. I was eyeing lamer in general during the Sephora sale since she’s so damn pricey. So I got the skin care gift box to try out their skin care, but I didn’t know what shade I would have been in the foundation so I didn’t get it. After watching your review, I’ll get it out of curiosity only if it’s like 50% off otherwise, I’ll pass. I have oily skin, texture and large pores as well and im trying to look red carpet cute at that price lol
La mer makeup has never had a review that impresses me. Currently using one foundation before getting the lisa eldrich foundation. It seems so good especially since my skin is going from combo oily to combo dry 😩

I would never purchase this, but was curious how it looked on people, so I've been watching videos. Here we are, two years later, it's $150 now and still only has the 27 shades. That's not good.

I did pick up your collab palette (I bought 2 and used your code for other stuff on Oden's Eye) I cannot wait to get my hands in it and play! I am here for the review and video. The range is hot water trash garbage can 🗑 I am a smidge darker than you. Whooooosh. Please La Mer don't be the Jim Crow of luxury makeup. Actually luxury makeup isn't super inclusive anyway. 😑😠😤😑 I like nice things but they do not need my money. LoL.

I can’t believe the price point I’ve been thinking of picking it up so many times but if it’s basic I would be so upset. Reminds me of the Gucci foundation i tried it so many ways and it looked like trash on me . I looked like the crip creeper

That smell was too much for me. It went back in the box 10 minutes after I applied it. Even if I had loved it there was no way I could deal with the scent. The quality was fine, nothing special. Maybe if they do an unscented I would try it again but its not something I'm going to stress over. It wasn't impressive.
I’m not as impressed with the luxury foundations. They have too many ingredients, like fragrance, that don’t look play nicely with my skin.
