+David Miller No one compares in creativity and complex playing to John Petrucci. Adam Jones as far as i am concerned, has never even played a solo. Maynard has a TERRIBLE voice .He reminds me of Adam Levine. I think maynard adds those effects to his voice to cover his terrible vocal tone. Danny is a good drummer, i'll give them that. But Adam cannot be considered creative and Maynards voice is annoying. Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor, John Petruuci, and maybe Bruce Dickinson. That would be a good lineup for tool

But to not be able to notice Dannys above average talents would make you def, or you, my 3 word reply friend, are bias. Like doesn't even come close to describing the emotion this invokes in me. I was fortunate enough to see Tool in Daytona Beach, FL way back when Lateralus came out. As a drummer, let me tell you ladies and gents, there was no need for mind altering substances that night. Seeing one of my all time favorite bands play, for two hours straight, one song into the next with Danny front and center on stage, was enough to put me on another plane of existence. Ok people. There's no denying the contribution Tool has provided to thee song book. Tool consists of 3 musicians and a lyrist/vocalist. They are considered masters in rhythm changes, sequences, and time signatures. Their approach to writing music is very unique: the note is secondary to thee number. It's about the arithmetic. Now, if you deny how difficult this approach is, all you need to do is get the opinion of their peers. Difficult to cover and near impossible to replicate their sound. The band doesn't need solos, for someone to take the lead, but they are a tight band, complimenting the other - feeding off the other. This prog band's use of polyrhythm (tribal) is so different than anything you will hear from other bands in the genre. What a typical band would use as a fill, this band will build a song on top of that. Rosetta Stoned, Tics and Leaches are examples of that. They are an experience.

This video is a compilation of the drum cam clips used in the Vic Firth Artist Spotlight video series to promote Danny's sig stick. The audio quality from these particular clips are some of the best I have come across, most of the other danny drum cams use the audio straight from the camera which has issues. This explains all the goofy graphics and voice overs as I assume Turbo wanted to include as much of the playing as possible from the VF clips

You know, you hear all these great tracks and then you see him live and I think, it's just a guy that likes to jam that's really good.

I've always thought of DC of the perfect blend between Neil Peart and Jon Bonham, he has the technical precision of NP but also has that heavy heavy handed neanderthal like power and sound sound like Bonham

I’ve always thought that DC was kind of a blend between, Neil Peart, Bill Bruford, & John Bonham. But, he’s also a fan of those three drummers, especially Bruford.

Dude... talk about destiny. The greatest prog drummer of all time just happens to live next door to one of the most prolific singers. It couldn't have been more perfect, considering that Maynard follows the drums over the guitar.

I think if Tool made a video titled "The Best Drummer on Earth" and it was just an hour long video of Danny playing a full set, it would be the most viewed video on UA-cam.

Danny kills on the drums...I'm typically into faster, heavier metal, but as far as progressive metal, or technical metal I guess you could say is awesome. Reminds me of Rush.

That smile Danny gave to Justin at 5:43 actually reminds me on a video where John Bonham actually did the same to John Paul Jones in one of their gigs, a video which I stumbled across UA-cam.
