After Burning for Buddy, Neil realized he needed to change up his form and studied with the great Freddie Gruber and it changed his entire style. He went from a very rigid staccato to a flowing style that helped him age into his drumming so he could do 3 hour shows with less impact on his body. Terrible swing drummer?
