as someone who's been playing guitar since 2001, I'm really sick and tired of all the shit that the super prog shred "everything has to be a solo" people giving adam jones shit. they look at the guitar tabs and see a 1 finger power chord in drop d sometimes and think he's not good, but after seeing tool for the first time from close to the front in front of adam, i just wanna say his style is so much more nuanced and his choice in chords is a lot weirder than people realize or can decipher through the gain. the music is so fucking fantastic that even if it was easy to play, it wouldn't matter, but he's doing a lot of little things in the songs that I'm not even sure how to describe (like the almost sweep arpeggio raking he does in the first soft half of invincible, and the pull off roll thing he does on jambi) he REALLY IS one of the greatest guitarists to ever walk this planet. not everything has to be a reverse tapping sweep on an 8 string.

Shoulder deep within the borderline
Relax, turn around and take my hand
as someone who's been playing guitar since 2001, I'm really sick and tired of all the shit that the super prog shred "everything has to be a solo" people giving adam jones shit. they look at the guitar tabs and see a 1 finger power chord in drop d sometimes and think he's not good, but after seeing tool for the first time from close to the front in front of adam, i just wanna say his style is so much more nuanced and his choice in chords is a lot weirder than people realize or can decipher through the gain. the music is so fucking fantastic that even if it was easy to play, it wouldn't matter, but he's doing a lot of little things in the songs that I'm not even sure how to describe (like the almost sweep arpeggio raking he does in the first soft half of invincible, and the pull off roll thing he does on jambi) he REALLY IS one of the greatest guitarists to ever walk this planet. not everything has to be a reverse tapping sweep on an 8 string.
Anyone criticizing Adam cannot and should not be taken seriously. They don't like how he plays? Fine. But to suggest any lack of quality or skill? They can point that finger up their ass and try to do better. Very few alive can!
This is why tool are the best just the emotion of utter happiness and joy when ever I hear their music. No other band does this.
Tool, Lollapalooza '97, loudest band I've ever heard, and I've been to more than 50 concerts. It was fucking amazing.
Lollapalooza ‘97 was my very first TooL show!!! A month b4 my senior year in H.S.
Fucking.
Epic.
Yep. 97’, the second round of the Aenima tour was hands down the best. Just saw them the other night. They never disappoint. But if you saw them in 97’ you already know.
I await the 20 year olds response to why I’m wrong.
This has to be the greatest video on the internet.
We were there this night. In my 63 years this has to be the best concert I've ever been to and that's saying alot! We got there a bit late and almost had to leave because our seats were taken and it was jammed packed!! Sold out show. Somehow we ended up in the ViP section LOL--OMG what a fantastic night and show. These guys make your insides vibrate LOL

This has got to be the best performance and rendition I've ever seen. Extremely well done!
The extended minute of Stinkfist live is my favorite minute of Tool music ever.
Best live music video I’ve ever seen.
85 people tapped the wrong thumb.

Lmaoooo
sickest band I've ever seen live.
Phenomenal show! TOOL! I was completely blown away!
live performance doesnt get any better than this!
Pureness. Each of them is entirely in the moment. Can you imagine that amount of focus and imagination?
I've listened to this song thousands of times and it never gets old.
When Tool is in AZ and Maynard says "it's feels good to be home" ..🤠🤠🤠🤠
Half way through I forgot this was a live show. What a wondeful view. Thanks for posting this! 💚🖤
That was incredible footage that sounded phenomenal in my ear buds. Thank you so much.
The way these guys evolve their original songs is just divine..It's never the same. They always add some shit in after awhile as if just to entertain themselves.
As a guitarist I try to always be in front of the guitarist at shows so this is amazing. I have yet to see Tool live so this is priceless! Thank you again!!! ♥️
Thanks. I saved it here so I could relive these great moments over and over again. And so others could enjoy and share in this magnificent experience.
Dannys kit looks freaking sick!!!!! The bass drum skin is killer!!!!!!
There aren't enough words to describe how amazing Danny is. He's 58 freaking years old ,for GOD 's sake. He's a beast
So intense.... I saw them over 20 years ago and they sound as good as ever! Thank you so much for posting this!!
never paid this close attention to the guitar before even tho it's not complex or speedy riff solos the way he use the guitar effects and timing on them the dynamics it's perfect sounds heaven
I love how all you can see and hear is Adam
best guitar tone from any band going today
Gojira...ask any true educated metal head..they will say gojira is one of the best metal bands to ever come out..not to mention there drummer is the best drummer to ever drum and perform in metal..PERIOD..I'm going to end this saying tools drummer is like 2nd on my list for all time rock or metal drummers
In the best moment
@@nickelisalejo678 I love Mario as much as the next guy but he is not even close to being on Danny Carey's level!
@@nickelisalejo678 Not sure why everything has to be a competition. Rock and roll is not a zero-sum game.
@@nickelisalejo678 Dirk??
DC is still the best one
Best live performance vid of Adam Jones!
This concert was incredible, so stoked that I could witness it live
Love how Adam's playing in this.
Great footage....just downright awesomeness
Wow! Great footage! Tool is legendary
One of the only bands within it's own Genre- Aenima is one of the high water marks in music History.
Check out the band King Crimson. The song Discipline from 1981 is a good introduction.

So many heads just blown I expected the crowd to look like HomeLanders massacre in his fantasy sequence.
Amazing quality. My one of the best bands of this age.

The greatest gift to music is the sounds of the underground throughout the generations. Still not played on radio because it doesn't deserve to - its for you and you alone. All hail Tool.
glsinsight Amen !
There needs to be a studio version of this version. Hands down.
they are so amazing live !
