    Sir, your video was informative and well done. We have 2022 and agree with your assessment. Regarding the brake dust issue. So far that hasn’t been an issue for us. However, it was on our C7. We solved that by installing Carbotech pads. Now I must say the C7 did have the Z51 package and our C8 did not. I just didn’t feel it was worth the extra expense. Saying that if you plan on tracking the car the Z51 package is a MUST option. Again your video was very well done. Cheers!

    I bought my C8 and it is now a little over a year old and I have to agree with the comments. Especially the heated and cooled seats and the charger placement. I was suprised how hot the trunk got but I don't use this car for food shopping and if I do it just a short drive to the store. I don't have any way near 12 K more like 3,700 miles. The blank screne happened only once, so I'm not worried about that. The ceramic coat is a must paid $1,800. Mine is a 2LT with Z51, the 2LT is also highly recomended. This is a great car and for the money one of the best sports car in the world!

    My experience with the c8 had a crawl mode activation when it said the differential was overheating along with the check engine light coming on only to go away after the car was parked and restarted. Several camera and electrical issues and that was only a week worth of driving the car. They seem very temperamental.

    Thanks for your video. A few comments come to mind.. You didn't create the problem by switching to track mode on the track. Being there is no documentation that says you can't do that, it should've worked. Regarding the brake dust, there is no hard and fast solution besides changing to non-performance ceramic brake pads. Lastly, I would've called onstar if my car started unknowingly. They should've been able to tell what initiated the start. As someone in IT, the first thing that comes to mind is your account got compromised. I would definitely recommend changing your passwords to something secure.
    Great color! I narrowed it down to your blue and red mist tintcoat. Ultimately, I ended up with red mist tintcoat but still love that blue.

      Just be kind to that car until you get past your 500 mile break in period. No launch control. No running the RPM's above 4500. And if you want to track the car...the break in period is 1500 miles.
      Enjoy !

    • @nickm8651
      @nickm8651 Рік тому

      @@FindtheRightRoad I'm going to take it easy and keep it under 4500RPM maybe a little higher once the 500 mile limit is reached from time to time but, not to the limit. Will change transmission filter and add 2 quarts of GM spec Trans oil at 1500 miles. Then at around 2,000 or 2500 see how it does with all the engine and trans gadgets. I think that will be very safe at this point.

    Nice Video. FYI, I have a 2022 Coupe 3800 mi and had the dash pod going black at startup and when driving I used the stop and walk away with the FOB and then restart and it also would be OK. It started to occur too often I took the Vette in to my dealer they attempted to reprogram the pod and it would not take the down load, GM had them replace the Dash pod still NG. It took a week, but GM figured out the fix with two different program down loads. So far so Good Hope this helps.

    We have a 2007 we purchased new and it only has 38K miles. Most of the problems we have had were due to lack of quality during original manufacturing. One shifter would no longer come out of park and 2nd gas fumes from the gas tank. Both of these repairs were quite costly and not covered under warranty. Great cars but I would expect more for the money!

    This is the best Corvette Chevy has ever built, and waiting to buy the car for 40 years, believe me I know. Leach Wilson Chevy in Shelbyville IL is selling me, my build of the car a C8 3LT Z06 with the Z07 package for MSRP. Aaron is my sales rep and he, as well as the rest of the sales reps, have been awesome. They are selling my build at MSRP, and as soon as I get it I will post it on line. These guys need to be commended for being so honest, and willing to work with the customer. They are way better than any other dealer I've dealt with.
    Most of the dealers are out for themselves, its not that they aren't making enough money but they want to gouge for more. I had one dealer try to sell me a used Z06 that didn't have the Z07 package for over $ 210K??? Golf Mill was the worst they told me they didn't want my build that they would order what they wanted and auction it off to the highest bidder. These guys need to be boycotted.

    I own a 2023 C8 carbonflash metallic convertible and I had it PPF, ceramic coated, ceramic tinted. I also put the grill guards on plus I got 25.9 miles to the gallon. I drive it about 77 to 78 MPH and sometimes get on it periodically. I am about to put lambo doors on it, but the wife wants me to trade it in and buy a new one before I put the lambo doors on it. I got 8900 miles on it as of right now. I also got my interior protected also because I got the 70th anniversary package on the car so I got the white with red trim on the seats.

    Give the wheels a good cleaning with P&S Brake Buster. Once clean, after each car was, coat and treat the wheels with Gyeon Wet Coat - winning combination.

  • @Da0R30
    @Da0R30 Рік тому

    First off, great review and love your honesty. Now for some things to help you enjoy your car more. To start, Ceramic coat it! You’ll love the result and the benefits of it. It’ll help keep the car cleaner and makes cleaning it easier. Also you can Ceramic coat majority of the car to include the wheels and glass too. Which would help in your fight against brake dust on the wheels. Ceramic coating your C8, and any other vehicle you have, is very much worth it and very beneficial. You can choose to get it professionally installed or get a diy kit (Amor Shield) and do it yourself. If you go the diy route just know that even though the application may be quick and easy, the prep to apply is more time consuming and the more attention spent in that part the better the results after application. Hope this helps!

      @Da0R30 Рік тому +1

      I also forgot to mention that you can add heat shield matting to the trunk area that faces the engine to reflect heat and keep trunk temperatures lower so you can store things in there and keep them cool.

    I lost my key fob in the front cabin a couple of months back. Several people at the dealership have had a go at it, trying to find it, also Several friends, no luck. Any thoughts out there ? The dragon and tunnel or trees in northwest Michigan are both on my C8 bucket List.

    Great review. I highly recommend a ceramic coating. I have Kamikaze ISM Coat 3.0 on my Audi, and absolutely love it. It will make your C8 look like it’s been dipped in glass. Water will run right off it. Getting the rims coated won’t keep the brake dust off them, but the dust will come off much easier. Make sure you use one designed for rims, or the heat will destroy the coating. Think about having the leather coated as well.

I put my phone behind the seat, which twists my arm and then forget it when I get out of the car and have to walk back. about the radiator guards... The chief Corvette Engineer said that they experimented with grills, but they reduced the cooling of the DCT oil and that it could cause problems if you track the car or live in the south where summers are really hot. He said that GM could decline the warranty claim if you have overheating issues and have the guards installed. Yeah, the nicks and dings are unsightly, but he said they don't effect cooling...

    Beautiful car! I’m debating holding out for ERay because of the ZO6 widebody looks plus carbon ceramic brakes standard. The idiot proof AWD also helps to avoid the ZO6 tail kicking out scenario that I’ve seen in multiple videos plus it just hooks up wet or dry! The other alternative would be a manual Darkhorse and another performance car that might be close to the two for one price of the ERay. I noticed one comment mentioning that his car starting on its own was traced to a faulty ignition switch. I personally have a carbon monoxide detector that was hardwired in our garage by our alarm company…cheap insurance as opposed to never waking up. Have you considered adding a Procharger system? I believe that it is the only system that doesn’t require the body to be lifted for installation…

    I've added a third-party ceramic brake pads to mine and I'm lucky if I get 5% dust on my rims. ACS Composite has great pads and is fairly priced.

    Regarding the inexplicable spontaneous starting..... Car thieves can clone/spectrum the electronic codes to open and/or start any car or garage doors for that matter. Sophisticated car thieves would see your Vette as a high value target.

      @@FindtheRightRoad But it's possible there are electronic devices available on the internet that can do a "sweep" of things such as the Apple Air Tag, before stealing it. Thieves today are always one step ahead of manufactures' anti-theft efforts.

      @@FindtheRightRoad Not really a great strategy. Consumer technology like that is kindergarten stuff for professionals and it doesn't prevent them from getting the car. At best you'll find it wrecked or stripped to a shell (chopped for parts) if they don't get it to a barge to China for resale @ 3 times retail. Go old school. Prevent the theft with something like a professionally installed/well hidden fuel/ignition/power cut off switch. Can't be hacked.

I think I would get that display problem in the cue before the warranty goes out ... just in case. Lots of little probs but geeze, it's a bargain for the car that it is, so really no sweat.

    We just got a new CRV with remote start and I'd really rather not have that feature. It's suppose to go off in 10 minutes but if a glitch starts it who knows. It's a detached garage, so WTF like the neighbor said "both insured, new garage, new car, new lawnmower, cash for all the old crap,,, take some pictures."
    our old house by the airport the garage door would open on it's own about once a year, neighbors too. Blamed airport communications. Never knew for sure.

    Ceramic brake pads will end your brake dust issues. Brembro brakes are the easiest pads to swap. Drive out a couple of pins and r and r the pads. My c7 was fairly new when i did it so rotors weren't a concern. In the end my z51 chrome rims are spotless.
