The reason they don't change is consistency of record keeping. If they change it, they would have to change it everywhere, all at once - AND it then also throws off the existing 60 or 70 years of numbers comparing new system to old.
@@CaptainSeamus “That’s the way we’ve always done it” is always a terrible justification.
@@stacybehrens7152 You missed the point - we use things all the time that are inaccurate like that because they keep existing data useable.
In Olympic fencing (for example) there is a 1/50th second "lag" time for the buttons on the end of the foils and epees to be read by the machines. In old machines it was just there... but in new machines it has been built in to act like the old scoring machines did, to keep it fair to the existing records.

@@DroneStrike1776 well, not all cars, ev's dont care about altitude, thats why their ideal for the pikes peak runs
Some of the best car content on the internet 👏🏼👏🏼
I'm very impressed with how you all put this video together and by having a true drag and drive legend like Tom Bailey as part of it. I don't think he would've been involved unless he thought things were being done right.
go watch Tom's video about the race, then draw conclusions
Anyone expecting a different result hasn’t been paying attention. Well done as always.
The first seven minutes went like a 30 seconds! outstanding montage brilliant.
Awesome episode guys!! Tremendous effort by everyone that put this together!
They should have called it the Lucid Satan 😂
@@Sonfvirgin360 lucid Lucifer
I think there's a Camaro build called "the Exorcist" lol
Demon Slayer😂😂

Noone needs that acceleration in real life
Tom Bailey is drag racing royalty. VERY cool to have him in this episode!
For sure but he definitely isn’t the best driver for the demon. That would go to Ron Silva or Herman. I think they would’ve been better candidates for this race
@@johncena-hq1ti I think with that big of a gap, it probably wouldn't matter.
@@det_tf2 definitely would be much closer, these passes were slow for the 170. I’ve seen many customer cars doing 9.3-9.0 bone stock, even 8.98. This was significantly slower on all measures.
I don’t care who he is he drove that demon like garbage. Literally a full second off a normal pass for a regular demon
Sucha a cool episode jason...well done !!! Also love seeing tom and randy ! Hell yeah!
Jason looking in his drivers side mirror off the line says it all!
The tide has well and truly turned, the Dodge represents peak old era. People will always love them, but by the very measure that made them great EV is well ahead, all they have now is amazing sound, amazing looks and amazing memories. I’m not sure how you get memories out of an EV but i digress. Possibly beating ICE powered cars, but it’s so easy it’s probably not that satisfying.
Great way to wake up my Daily/Weekly Dose of Hagerty♨️
I figured the all wheel drive would be a big factor for the Lucid but holy smokes.
Knowing how quick the 170 is, and watching it be gapped by a train length is ridiculous.
@@BigKandRtvWould the same thing happened if these two did a roll race?
@@aaronmiller5012 with the amount of power those 2 cars have? Yes, definitely.
With 300hp street cars not, but ev traction control is a different ball game then ice tc. And with those power numbers awd traction + better traction control the lucid will smoke the 170 in a roll race just the same.
Top speed/oval might be different - but the low cog of the lucid might make it a lot faster there as well
Fantastic video. Thanks for putting this to bed.
One of the best production videos I’ve ever seen. Well done and thank you!
The Lucid has the best trunk i've ever seen...that's so cool!
Functional, cool execution, yes, does it make the rear end ugly, yes also.
That lid opening will give you a headache.
This is for real the ultimate drag race. Thank you Jason and team, from Moldova 🇲🇩 )))
Camisa is legendary. Absolutely agree with almost all things motoring he say and the way he does it. I think Camisa ,Doug de mouro and Mat Watson and the other Jason from engineering explained would make something more special if not just as good as Hammond, May and Jennifer.
More content needed Camisa. You're an Icon in motoring. Great production and delivery, world class entertainment that is factual and mostly non biased. props legend
Jason^2, randy, and the throttle house guys should do more collabs. Same brilliant energy, amazing senses of humor.
Production quality and timing is insane... so well done. Worth watching just for that...
The Demon never stood a chance. LOL
Not even a roll race?
@@aaronmiller5012 Nope.
@@aaronmiller5012yeah a roll and a half mile demon wouldve out performed it, electric cars a quick but not fast
@@GP22E 210+ mph isn’t fast!?!?!?
@@GP22E You are kidding yourself, the Lucid does around 215mph.
the production quality is incredible
i think its time to fully question Dodge's claim of 8.9 1/4 mile on the Demon 170. It is not legitimate based on 3rd party testing.
Look up the driver and time slip
It's literally public knowledge...
It took me all of 10 minutes to
Find the record time and details
It is legitimate these guys just can't launch the demon
@@WindyCity1992 That was like a haiku with an extra chromasome
There are a few demon 170s hitting into the 8.8 and 8.9 sec
It's so inconsistent that it's useless.
This is the most epic video i have ever seen, hats off to the entire team, this is the kind of UA-cam i support. Love and great appreciation from India
The production quality of these videos is just next level. Keep up the great content!
